Fantasy Dying Light. A steampunk RP

Combat Ready
It was a beautiful day for the beginning of the festivities. The city in the sky, a marvel to behold for steam technology. The sun's, yellow with the spring time, begun their cycle to become close to one another. It would take a full year to fully become close enough for the Flare to begin. The key is to be displayed for all to see.

The city, alive with action, is amazingly beautiful. Blimps ferry all races and people from floating island to floating island, Also from the ground.

Terra stepped off of the ferry onto the main island. She saw travelling merchants from over the world. She was on a 'recon' mission for The Black Cats, but she knew they wanted her to have fun and take some time off. She had her bandana flipped over so the symbol did not show. She was going to blend in and enjoy the festivities.

Jack had arrived a little bit earlier, and was out looking for new materials for his research. While he was looking he stoped by a merchant who was selling Ricin for 8 spikes a pound. Why a lethal poison was being sold here he did not know, but he bought 2 pounds for the fun of it and continued on his way looking for anything interesting.

Edward Rust
Location: Limbo - Market District

A thrumming crowd coursed through Limbo's market square, the noises of merchants and customers alike bartering coming to a crescendo in the warm winds that swept down these bustling streets.
Bright beams of sun lazily dribbled upon the thoroughfare, carelessly casting light upon the floating metropolis. It was a perfect day for a festival, and festivals were perfect business days for a man like Edward Rust.
Like a stone amongst a coursing river, Edward Rust’s cart – pulled by his faithful business partners Rosy and Posy – sat proudly to one side of the street, deflecting the flow of Limbo’s citizens. The cart had been altered into a merchants stall, adorned with display cases and counters, open racks and crates, and plenty of eye-catching wares. Wares that tinkled and chimed in the wind and glittered and glowed in the sun, interspersed with a few curiosities meant to shock and disturb.
Hawking these wares was Mr. Rust himself, adorned in dark blue attire consisting of a lavish looking cloak and waistcoat, the glimmer of a golden chain hinting at a pocket watch tucked beneath. His fingers were decorated with twinkling rings, and his ears sparkled with similar garish ornamentation. However, the most eye-catching part of Mr. Rust was his smile and booming voice, summoning forth helpless passersby. Customers would be drawn to the man’s voice, captivated by his bright smile and dark storming eyes. These people were flies, and Edward; honey. Or, a sack of shit if you preferred to think of him that way.
“You there, sir!” Edward called to an older gentleman. “Yes, you sir. Let me see what’s under that fabulous hat of yours.” The older gentleman stunned and caught in Edward’s trap begrudgingly obliged, displaying a balding head. Edward clucked his tongue sadly in response.
“Just as I suspected, you too have succumbed to the terrible balding curse that comes in the wizened years of men. A terrible fate, I am truly sorry.” Running a hand through his dark, slicked back hair, Mr. Rust shook his head. “You know though, I might have something just for you sir.” Edward spun on his heeled boots and began rifling though his cart with rehearsed feverishness. In a moment his hands reemerged, victoriously holding a glass bottle containing a milky white substance. He presented it to the man, a charming smile upon his face. “Apply this to you’re balding head once before bed and once in the morning, and you’ll have a full head of hair as thick and lush as mine, in a week, I guarantee it. Trust me, my old man has been using this stuff for years and his locks have never looked better, the ladies have trouble averting their eyes. You’re head of hair will be the envy of everyone in Limbo.” Edward gave his most convincing grin.
In reality of course, none of what was said was true. The cream itself did encourage hair growth, but it’s effects were never localized, and caused random sprouts of hair to take shape all over one’s body. Edward had taken the substance off the hands of a failed alchemist in Calshire about a month ago, and those suckers had been bringing in money for Edward ever since.
A few more moments of reassurance, talk of return policies and talk of customer satisfaction, and Edward Rust had the older fellow in the palm of his hands. By the end of the interaction, Edward had managed to haggle with the elderly man, convinced him to buy a second bottle and get a third for free, leaving Edward with 15 Spikes and the garnet encrusted ring that had adorned the left hand of the fellow.
Edward slipped the ring onto his pinky, a shit-eating grin breaking through his facade for just a moment.
When Mr. Rust’s attention was brought back to the hustle and bustle of Limbo, his gaze almost immediately fell upon a young woman passing by. Her hair burned brightly in the brilliant sun, and her disarming green eyes were enough to make a weaker man tremble. A terrible grin almost took ahold of the Huckster’s face in that moment, and it took everything in Edward to suppress it.
“You there, miss! Could this humble merchant perhaps trouble a noble woman such as yourself for a moment of your time?” Edward laid on the charm thick, and gave his most polite and sincere smile. CombatReadyPenny CombatReadyPenny

Lolrelv had been in the city of limbo for a short time but in that time she had left a trail of bodies as she moved closer to her target, the key. She had been tasked with getting it into safer hands than some cathedral as if she could infiltrate it then another could do the same, and infiltrate it she had as now she wore the face of one of the many priests of the cathedral. The real one was dead and she had used the trust he had to walk around the cathedral finding good places high up to place explosives for her plan B. Her normal plan was to get close to the high priest kill him take his key to the case that held the key and then vanish, her back up was to destroy the cathedral and hope the case as crushed and the key would be exposed. There would be many more deaths but they were an acceptable loss, in truth the entire city was an acceptable loss and she was currently formulating a plan to get into the engines that held the city aloft and destroying them so the city would crash down. All things were acceptable and if she had to kill every last man woman and child in the city to get the key she would. That was the power of her conviction in that what she was doing was the right thing, maybe not the good thing but it was the right thing.

For now Lolrelv remained hidden in plain sight pretending to be a priest, she ministered and blessed and did everything but give sermons. Some woudl notice that one of their priests was acting a bit odd but well with the darkness attacking church after church as the flare grew close it was understandable. She just had to wait and plot she had already set the explosives, their timers slowly counting down, today and midnight services they woudl go off, and they were set up to block off the entrances and ensure maximum death and destruction. Yes tonight woudl be very interesting one way or another.

50A4B705-E031-46C2-9715-8C6B44DB10AC.jpegZheng had arrived early so she could have a whole day of shopping and enjoy today’s festivities. Though she hadn’t actually bought anything yet. At the moment she was just looking. Plus her servant hadn’t arrived yet. She was going to carry everything she bought. All of this put her in a good mood. She smiled and stretched out her arms. Of course this wasn’t the only reason why she was happy. Yesterday she had been working all day to complete a special decvice that would make it easier to carry her spear around. Of course she had to make alterations to her spear handle. Well she needed a entire new spear handle which she made and designed herself. The device she made was made to look like a watch on her hand. But if you open the cover to the watch you would see a button instead. With one press her spear would either shrink to the size of a dagger or its normal big size. She was quite happy with the accomplishment. She had her spear in a pouch that was strapped to her leg under her clothes.

As she continued to explore and look around she noticed a booming voice. She looked around to see where it was coming from. Finally she spotted a cart that had a man trying to sell something to a older gentleman. Strange, why did she get the feeling that she had her that voice before? She watched as the man sold some hair cream or whatever to the gentleman. His face....I could of sworn I....She was standing there thinking to herself then suddenly it hit her and her eyes widen. That’s the guy that sold me that defective face cream!!! It broke me out with huge ugly pimples all over my beautiful face!! She yelled in her head. It took everything in her not to pull out her spear and start swinging at him. Then suddenly an idea popped into her head. She gave a wicked smile. She quickly made her wicked smile disappear as she waited for him to spot another person to cheat. She was pretty sure and hoping he wouldn’t remember her. She was probably just a face of many. Which she was just hoping for. He pointed out a woman in the crowd. Trying to get her attention. She waited to see if the woman would take his bait. Before heading over to the cart.

Terra smirked as the man called her to attention. She knew these kinds of people, scammers and con artists. She decided to play along until she had enough evidence, but under calm collected attitude she was ready to pull her gun out and arrest him at a moments notice. "Who, me?" she asked him, acting unaware at the situation. "What could I need that you are selling?" she asked, convincingly fake interested.

"What could I need that you are selling?"

A pleasant laugh sounded from Edward, as he gave a bemused shake of the head. "Oh, my dearest lady, what indeed? Why, what every young noble woman needs on a blessed day such as this!" The clever Huckster spun around and quickly pushed aside the many cloths and silks hanging from the racks in his stall. He spoke as he searched.
"Today is a day of festivities," from his pocket suddenly appeared a measuring tape, "and I'd say, in your current state, you look like you're prepared for a business meeting. That simply won't do." In his hand now were several dresses. "A woman of your age should be out enjoying herself, reveling in the company of a nice young lad or lass." He laid the dresses atop the main counter of one of his stalls, before turning around to meet the eyes of Terra with a charming and polite smile. "Don't you think?"
Quick as a flash, he was upon the woman before him. His hands were light as a thief as he took the measuring tape to every angle and curve of the woman's body, gentle as a butterfly gliding around her frame. In a hushed voice he spoke sweetly, mostly to himself but just loud enough for his potential customer to hear. "That would certainly accentuate the waist... but the color... and the sundress dress allows for a better ease of movement... the lilac would unquestionably bring out her eyes but... perhaps that would be too much..." and on he went, subtly complimenting the woman’s physique with out really addressing her, disguising his comments as business practice.
It was only a matter of minutes before he stood back upright with a pleased smile upon his face. "Miss, I know just the thing."
From the pile of dresses on his counter, Edward retrieved two. The first was a lavender eyelet sundress, which Edward held in front of himself, flipping it every-which-way to show off each angle.
“This would be an absolutely lovely color on you, yes? And see the smocking on the back? I hear it’s quite popular this season with the local nobility.” The merchant held the dress up in front of the woman before him, and squinted with one eye. “Yes, that would be quite lovely. It’s simple, form fitting and it’s got a romantic flare to it, don’t you think? And look, what lovely adjustable straps!
“The dress is crafted from imported cotton, I believe all the way from Harks Town in the east? Lovely threading on this piece.”

The next, was a dress and petticoat, something a little more eye catching. The Bubble Dress was a simple black and white, with long sleeves and ruffled stand collar. It held a casual, Victorian elegance about it that was accentuated by the placement of bow ribbons around the dress and at the collar.
“This one might be a little more risky, but I believe you could pull it off. In fact, I’d say you’d look rather stunning, more so than usual, of course! Perhaps you’d like to try them on? I have a changing room just around back. I’d just ask you be careful with the lace on that last one’s petticoat, the silks are imported from the Jeweled Cities of the Nadrago Deserts, and are quite delicate.”
Of course, like everything with Edward Rust, most of what was said was merely half-truths. However, being an expert salesman, Edward told each lie delicately, giving away none of the usual ticks one who was being deceitful might. He was, after all, a professional liar. CombatReadyPenny CombatReadyPenny animegirl20 animegirl20

Edward's Lies:
The lavender dress was indeed in fashion, but had been stolen out of the closet of a woman Edward had seduced, some noble man’s daughter. After many months of travel with the piece, some of the color had begun to bleach in the sun and Edward cast a simple glamour over it as to temporarily bring back its original color.
The bell dress had been the prized possession of a farm girl from Stagbinn. However, after a night out on the city, the woman was stabbed and killed in a back alley. Edward had solemnly taken the dress, sewed up the damages, and cast a glamour over the bloodstains and patching, as to temporarily restore it to its former glory. The lacing was not made from silk, but rather some expertly made facsimile.

CB2BA463-7674-4364-9144-E0EC1DF0084B.jpegWhen the girl walked over to speak to the man Zheng walked a little closer to the cart to get a better look and....”Dresses?!” She smiled and almost found herself demanding them for herself but she quickly caught herself. “Damnit Don’t fall for that!” She whispered to herself. “Ok time to go in.” She walked over to them putting on quite a beautiful and charming smile. “These are quite lovely dresses.” She said looking at them. First she looked at the bell dress and felt the lace he claimed to be silk. She glanced at him with her eyebrow raised slightly. That’s not silk. She thought to herself. Then she looked at the lavender dress. Boy was it pretty and anyone could tell that she really liked it. This dress was definitely the real deal but....there had to be a lie in there somewhere.....wait. “This dress....it looks like....” Wait a friend of mine had dress exactly like this. But the last time I visited her she told me that it was.....Her thoughts stopped there. And she breathed in. No way...... Ok she was going to control herself. “That dress I most say I swear I’ve seen it some where before.” She pretend to think hard. “Yes in fact it looks exactly like the dress a friend of mines had.” She glanced over at him calmly with small smirk. She then looked back at the dress. “In fact she told me it was stolen. Haha but that’s ridiculous im sure a honest man like yourself would never do something like that.” She looked at the girl next to her. “Don’t you agree?” After looking at the girl she had to wonder if she really fell for this man’s trick or not. She didn’t seem like the type to fall for something like this so easily. If the girl really did know this guy was a total cheat she’d probably play along. She then looked back the man. “Oh by the way you wouldn’t happen to have any face cream would you. I wouldn’t want to break in ugly pimples.” She gave the man a smile. But in that smile there was something very dangerous. She looked at the girl. “It’s hard to find good face cream these days. In fact there was this terrible man that sold me some defective cream it made break out horribly. If only I could remember his face.” She then glanced at the man then looked back the girl. “Horrible isn’t it?”

Terra pretended to be impressed at his knowledge as she reached fro her 'camera case.' "These look amazing... I don't know what to say... " she said acting surprised. The woman coming up and talking about the dresses was just the icing this cake needed.

"But..." she said as she took the case off her belt. "Want to know what would look good on you?" she asked him as her case turned into a large clockwork rifle. "A pair of handcuffs. Edward Rust, you are under arrest for thievery, consmanship, selling of illegal products, and public neasuance." she said as she stuck her rifle end to his back. "You have the right to remain silent."

Edward Rust
Location: Limbo - Market District

Edward had been pleased at the sight of another woman approaching his stall. For a moment, she too seemed delighted with the selection of dresses Mr. Rust had presented, and the Huckster congratulated himself internally for being such a damned good salesman. However, the huckster realized things were about to go sour for him after he finally caught a glimpse of the other woman’s face. He recognized her immediately; Edward never forgot a pretty face.
Damn unhappy costumers.
Edward, who was brilliant at reading others, almost immediately noticed the anger and ill will brewing behind the new woman’s eyes. Though, you probably didn’t need to be good at reading others to tell she was displeased.
Taking a deep breath, Edward waited for the accusations to come flying towards him (all of which were true), whilst logically and strategically coming up with reasonable justifications (all of which were lies) to retort with. When the lady was finished, the Huckster opened his mouth, excuses and speeches rehearsed and ready to be presented, but found his words stuck in his throat after hearing the other woman say something a bit odd behind him. Slightly confused, Edward started turning to face her again, but froze in place after feeling the muzzle of rifle press against his back.
Still facing the woman whom he had sold face cream to, Edward’s facade broke for but a moment, and a terrible and feral sense of fear took shape on his face. Memories of another lifetime flooded through him, escaping the recesses of his mind and filling him with an overwhelming sense of dread. A second passed, and then another, and then he was back in control. The memories receded, and a broad grin stretched across Edward’s face once again.

Though he looked calm and amused on the outside once more, his mind was going at a million miles a minute. Part of him began contemplating whether it would be better to just take a bullet in the spine and die, forgoing incarceration. Another part of him wondered and marveled how the local police had already come know his name after only a few weeks of hawking in Limbo. Perhaps he was developing too much of a reputation? Perhaps he needed to change his name again? Maybe something like Garth... or Garrett. Garrett might be good. Or Phillip. Edward always liked the name Phillip.
Edward shook his head. Time for that later.
“Ladies, ladies. I’m sure this is all just one big misunderstanding.” Edward did not resist as the officer behind him began forcing his wrists into handcuffs. “You’ve got the wrong guy, honestly. I’ve heard of this Edward Rust character, and he sounds like bad news. I ain’t anything like that, honest to the Light. Though, we might share a similar handsomeness if you’ve mistaken myself for he.” Edward cast his gaze in the direction of Zheng, looking directly into her eyes. “I apologize if I sold you a faulty product, if you get this blasted cop to unhand me, we can talk about refunds and compensation.” As he spoke, Edward laid on the charm thick, hoping that the woman before him would stay focused on his face. Meanwhile, his left foot began to stealthily slide across the ground towards a looped length of rope that was normally used to raise and lower the curtain of his merchant’s stall. Once his foot was in the loop, he spoke again. “Really, I’m sorry if I’ve done you folk wrong. And I’m also sorry” a sudden series of harmless sparks shot from Edwards hand, followed by a blinding white light. “For this!” The man jerked his handcuffed hands up and to the right, catching the muzzle of the rifle on the bridge of the handcuff chain whilst also letting loose a shrill whistle.
CombatReadyPenny CombatReadyPenny animegirl20 animegirl20

If all went according to plan: the jostling of Terra’s gun and blinding white light would have thrown off her shot enough for the bullet (should she actually pull the trigger) to either completely miss Edward, or rip through his side, avoiding his spine and hopefully avoiding anything else vital. Meanwhile, hearing Edward’s shrill whistle, Rosy and Posy would then take off, carrying the cart down the street and tightening the rope around Edward’s ankle, violently dragging him down the cobbled streets.

As Terra felt her gun movingoff target, she fired. She barely missed Edwards spine with one of her sniper shots as the cart jerked into moving. That, and with the recoil of her gun, swept her off her feet and she landed on the ground.

She stood up to see Edward start to get away. Terra put her hand up to her ear. "Edward Rust is attempting to escape down 3rd street. He is handcuffed, wounded, and tied by the foot to his cart. I need eyes in the sky now!" she said as she got to the roof tops and started running after the cart, drinking a speed potion to make sure she could keep up.

Daylight
Hansel
Limbo - Market District

"Don't stray too far, Ivan! We're only going to Limbo to get some spare parts." said the man in his faded apparel and suspenders. The hardy multitude of men and their colossal guardian approached the busy marketplace. Ornate buildings of various shapes and sizes towered above them, accompanied by the sporadic sounds of airship honks and the bellowing steam pumps of the industrious neighborhood. Eventually, the huge piece of metal found himself lost in the crowd, and gave in to the flowing population towards the main plaza of the marketplace.

Going from stalls to stalls, Hansel illuminated eyes rotated his surrounding, but to no avail. He let out a slight sigh, with steams brushing out of his shoulder exhaust. Before long, a forceful gale cuts through the crowd, where Hansel quickly caught a few civilians and carried them to safety. He noted a wagon speeding past him, and a feminine figure followed suit to catch the rogue cart. In the aftermath of the hot pursuit, a few potatoes came tumbling down the empty road, to which the sentinel would slowly pick them up. The heavy sentiment of seeing food being wasted was not common for a robotic being, but it sure got a hold of Hansel, as he gathered the roots and return them to the nearby stall.

The feeling of being left behind did not stir Hansel, but it did left him questions. Much like his handler over two centuries ago. A small, whimpering voice came from the owner of the potato stall and reached into Hansel's inner core. "Thank you, clanker."

Hansel waved his hand at the grateful old man and carried himself down the street, where he would venture the distinctive rainbows of the plaza, in contrast of the gray, smokey horizon of the city's outskirts. The sentinel roamed the streets, looking for something to abide his time to, while he searches for his long gone companions.

Zheng smiled, quite pleased to see that this girl here worked for the law Enforcement. This went better then she thought it would. She watched as the woman began to cuff him. She was standing infront of the man with her arms crossed. While standing there she noticed a strange look of fear took to his face. But it quickly disappeared leaving Zheng to wonder if she imagined it. Then of course the man started speaking nonsense about he didn’t know they were talking about and blah blah blah. Zheng rolled her eyes at this but then suddenly some how he caught her attention. He was looking straight into her eyes. She raised her eyebrow for a moment. Trying to charm me hey? She thought to herself. Even though she knew everything spewing from his mouth was an outright lie she had a very slight blush on her face. The act he put up was enough to distract her and not noticed what he was doing with his foot and before she knew it there was a blinding flashing light and then by the time she could see he was getting away. She stood there for a moment stunned. Slowly the anger began to rise and then she snapped. Suddenly her spear was in her hand at its normal size which was big and she dashed following the girl and the cart dragging Edward along. “I’ll kill him!” Zheng anger was enough to push her speed into full drive even catching up with the girl.

Galvani -

Galvani was just applying the finishing touches to the chest he was modifying. He felt for the flows of electricity stored within the glass jar and gently directed them into the metal cage implanted into the interior of the chest. He then closed the chest and placed both hands onto its hardwood exterior. Immediately, he felt of rush of electricity flow through him. His eyes lit up and he smiled. Perfect . To anybody else that much electricity would send them flying across the room, and certainly make them think twice about trying to get whatever was stored within the chest, but to Galvani it was a pleasure. An accident in his youth meant that Galvani was attuned to electricity. It meant he could tolerate very large amounts of it, and could also manipulate its flows. That, combined with the electrified intelligence meant he was able to build contraptions, such as this chest.

Galvani looked up to see Flora staring at him from atop her book, wide eyed and smiling.
‘Finished, nobody will try stealing from you again, at least not twice’ He said, whilst returning her smile and handing her a key, ‘This key is tuned to the same frequency as the electricity running through that chest, if you turn the key, the chest unlocks and the electricity is stilled. If you turn it again, the chest locks and the electricity is awakened, and anybody who tries to open the chest and is not holding that key will get quite a shock’
‘Thank you so much Galvani’ Flora replied before pausing and adding ‘Especially for agreeing to build it for free. I still don't understand why, what with Ivan King offering you crazy amounts of money for the same thing’
Galvani looked her in the eyes and sighed, ‘ Anyone who knows i can build these contraptions, also knows I don’t sell my services. I give them away, to people I trust, who truly need them and won’t use them for evil purposes’
‘I know, I know, well at least let me give you this’ Flora replied, before walking toward Galvani and planting a kiss lightly on his cheek, causing Galvani to flush and grin.
‘Well, I can allow that’ He smiled and kissed her back, ‘But I must get going, Somethings going to happen, I can feel it’
Flora reluctantly let him go and replied, ‘ If you must Galvani, then farewell. Will I see you again?’
‘I don’t know Flora, you know me. I follow the storms’
WIth that Galvani collected his small array of tools, small bits of various metals and lodestones, minute wrenches and hammers, and various nuts and bolts. All fitting neatly into one or other of the many pockets lining his ragtag tailored coat. He grabbed his top hat and cane, and stepped out the door.

Galvani found himself in the damp and dimly lit corridors of Flora’s lodgings. He caught himself thinking of how glad he was to have been able to help her. She really did need my help, living in a place like this, and it didn’t hurt that she had eyes like sapphires.
Galvani walked into a dark corner and took out a small glass jar from one of his coat pockets. The accident of Galvani’s youth gave him more than just an affinity for electricity. It also gave him a dependance. In order to not enter an extreme withdrawal he has to take regular doses of electricity. The clear glass jar he was holding appeared to contain a miniature storm, with blue and white forks of lightning cascading within it. The simple explanation for this, is that it did in fact contain a miniature storm.
As Galvani opened the jar and the electricity discharged, with bolts striking various points on his body, he thought fondly of the time when he collected this jar. It’s what Galvani calls ‘chasing storms’. Armed with nothing but his hot-air balloon, he follows weather storms, floating high amongst the clouds to the very heart of the storm. He does this so as the be able to study and collect the storms, but also so as to feel alive.
Much like he feels now after having taken his most recent dose. With his hair on end, and eyes wide open, Galvani can feel the electricity flowing through him. He savours the feeling for many moments, until abruptly he stops daydreaming and remembers why he came to Limbo at all.

He could feel the reason in the air. A storm. A different kind of storm. A storm that moves people instead of clouds. A storm more dangerous by far. A storm that he is chasing.

Edward Rust
Location: Limbo - Market Streets -> Church

The crack of gunfire rang in Edward’s ears as the sensation of the rifle bullet tearing into his back caused him to hunch over in pain. However, before Edward could even fully process the pain, the rope around the man’s ankle quickly tightened, sending him ass over teakettle onto the cobbled streets below, and just as quickly Edward was unceremoniously pulled away from the two women accosting him.

As the Merchant’s cart was drawn away from it’s spot in the market district, a storm of trinkets, baubles and various wares were thrown from their place on display by the sudden jerking. Crates, jars and display cases came crashing to the ground, some of the debris slamming into Edward’s limp body. Suddenly, everything that Edward had been selling seemed a little less appealing as the glamour faded from each item revealing the majority of the articles to be nothing more than dingy antiquities.

For a moment, Edward thought he might go unconscious, his eyes rolling up into the back of his head. It was only by sheer force of will that he managed cognizance.
The huckster grabbed ahold of the rope at his ankle, and managed to wiggle himself free of the knot and then began a harrowing climb up towards his cart, ducking mid way as one of the display shelves were thrown loose after slamming into a lamppost. He cried out to Rosy and Posy in distress, “Lights above, you girls trying to kill me too?! Watch where you’re going!” After several minutes of being drug through the streets, Edward laid a cuffed hand onto his cart and pulled himself up. A proud smirk took form on his face, though it was quick to disappear after he realized the two women were pursuing him. Fuck.
“Give up!” He cried out to the two, kicking a crate of “vintage” wines off the back of his cart and in their direction. He immediately ducked behind the cart’s canvas flaps, grabbed his sword and tied it to his belt, before reaching the coaches seat and taking hold of Rosy’s and Posy’s reigns. “Kyah!” Edward sent the cart down another street, hoping his mules would be able to out run his pursuers. It was whilst traveling down this street that Edward noticed a citadel. He grimaced and gave a very weak laugh, wincing all the while from his bullet wound. The man had an idea, a very bad idea. But those were the best kind of ideas, Edward supposed.
With practiced flicks of his wrist, Edward commanded Rosy and Posy down streets and alleyways whilst sending crates and various wares off of his cart and onto the streets, hoping to slow down those perusing him. After a few minutes of navigation, Edward finally arrived at the grand church entrance.
“Help, I need a healer! They’re trying to kill me, Lights above, they’ve shot me!” Edward shouted to the passing priests as he commanded Rosy and Posy to slow down, and hopped off the cart before they even stopped. The huckster tried to stick the landing, but found himself too weak at the moment. His legs buckled, and he toppled forward at the base of the entryway stairs.
Slowly, he managed to get back up and hobbled forward, one hand clutching at his bullet wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. A cut on his forehead had caused blood to cascade over the man’s left eye, making his vision increasingly blurry. An older looking priestess came quickly down the stairs, a deeply concerned look on her face. “My dear child, wh-what’s happened to you?”
“Please, Sister. I need a healer, quick. They’re trying t-to kill me.” Edward paused to point behind him. “Angry customers” was the last thing he managed before passing out.

BFFCEDCB-57BB-47EB-A210-1448DFB2C4A7.jpegZheng started to slow down as she reached the church. When she caught up to Edward he was past out and a priestess gave heft a judging look. “Now wait a min I don’t know what this fool told you but this guy is a professional liar so I wouldn’t be surprised he lied with his final breath. Also I wasn’t actually going to kill him I was just going to beat him to ass. There’s a difference.” She said seriously. Zheng pressed the button on her wrist and her weapon shrunk and she stuck in her pouch. She then bent down to look at him. Seemed like he passed out from blood lost. She looked up to the priestess. “Hey got any bandages?” Well she might of hated this guy but she wasn’t going to let him bleed to death. She looked towards the girl and smirk. “Of course this fool would run to the church.”

Lolrelv
Glamour Cardinal Joseph

Lolrelv heard the commotion outside and did not like the idea of an unexpected intrusion into her plans as all it took was one piece out of place for any plan to crumble and while she could easily alter her plans it was a hassle. Heading outside she saw that a man had come to the church injured and seemingly pursued by others, angry customers or perhaps a member or two of that police force that ran about in plain clothes. Well judging from one of the women's words it seemed the man was a con man, an liar, and perhaps a thief. New plans quickly unfolded in her mind as she realized that her plans had room for one more person a fall guy. Right now the city would be looking for whoever caused this every man woman and child on high alert and her current galmour would look out of place after such an event. Well she would be changing it but still if she was to vanish and the cardinal's body found int he rubble along with this man, yes it would tie things up nicely. Lolrelv just needed to help him and a church was just the place to do so, with the right of sanctuary. that was likely why he had even come here to seek shelter from the law.

" That will be enough" Lolrelv said in an authoritative tone as befit one in a decent position within the church " I will not allow a man to bleed out or be taken away when he can not defend himself" She continued playing the people coming after him as something as unjust " The light does not allow for baseless accusations" she continued again framing the man as innocent and his pursuers as in the wrong " Thus we will give him Sanctuary, none may lay a hand upon him while he is upon holy ground unless they want to tempt the lights wrath" She finished noddign the the pirestess to continue her work.

Galvani -

Galvani had been in limbo for two weeks now. The majority of that time had been spent gathering information, anything that could lead to the centre of the storm. He’d made merry in numerous taverns, befriending anyone who seemed like they were in the know. He’d tailed law enforcement officers, hoping they’d lead him to some event or other. He’d even recruited a small task-force of street urchins , tasked with sending out feelers throughout the city and returning with anything that seemed out of the ordinary. So far he’d found nothing. Although truthfully Galvani has no idea what he was even looking for, he knew he’d recognise it once he found it. He always did.

As Galvani stepped out of Flora’s lodgings, he was struck by the energy of the city. Ah, festival day. The streets were crowded with people dressed in their finest festival clothes. Bright colours were everywhere, greens and blues, reds and yellows. As Galvani observed the scene, he noticed a streak of overturned crates, scattered vegetables and broken bottles running through the middle of the crowd. It was almost as if, only moments ago a small herd of arryls had stormed through the streets. Already, people were gathering up the debris, attempting to restore order and return to the festival day celebrations. There was one old man with a limp, just opposite Galvani, who was slowing gathering up onions into a crate.
‘How goes things, Sir! What happened here?’ Galvani asked, whilst picking up a stray onion and placing it in the man’s crate.
‘You wouldn’t believe me if i told you,’ The old man chuckled, ‘ One moment I’m trying to sell my wares, potatoes and whatnot, and the next thing I know, I’m being knocked of my feet by a pair of horses. Horses that were galloping like their tails were on fire, mind. And you wouldn’t believe what they were hauling,’ the man pausing, waiting for a reply.
‘Erm… what were they hauling?’ Galvani asked.
‘A cart, full of dresses and skirts. For selling I’d suppose. Now that’s not that odd, you might even had guessed it. But what would you guess was attached to the back of this cart?’ Again the man paused, taking obvious enjoyment in telling his tale.
‘I’ve no idea, what was attached to the back of this cart?’ Galvani replied, playing along, perhaps too eagerly,
‘A man! A man being dragged by about 20 foot of rope. Bouncing off the cobbles like he was surfing waves, he was’ The man exclaimed.
‘A man? I wonder why he was doing that’ Galvani remarked, as he continued to pick up onions and place them in the man’s crate, earning him nods of thanks.
‘I’ve been wondering that myself. I suppose I could’ve asked the two women chasing after him. Only one of them almost charged right into me. I’d just gotten up from the floor when I had to dive back down again. Now i’ve got a sore knee, see’ The man said as he lifted up his trousers, revealing a slightly swollen, knobbly knee.
‘Interesting. Following any trail’s better than following none, and I am curious as to how that man found himself in such a predicament’ Galvani muttered, almost to himself.
‘Er yes,’ The man coughed, looking confused and still holding his trouser leg up.
‘Oh er, yes, let me look at that leg’ Galvani lightly touched the man’s knee, sending the slightest wave of electricity into the joints and surrounding muscles. He could feel the leg tense sharply, and then relax.
One of the uses Galvani has found for his electricity was minor healing. He could numb bruises and ease swollen joints. He could give a tired man a short burst of energy or wake a passed out patient. These were all useful abilities, but still only minor. He couldn’t stitch a stab wound or mend a broken bone. Electricity simply doesn’t work like that.

‘Ooh. Aah. That feels gooood’ The man sighed, whilst slowly stretching his leg. ’How’d you do that?’ He asked, a large grin on his face.
‘Magic!’ Galvani exclaimed, whilst he spread his hands out in front of his face and small sparks shot from his fingers.
Leaving the man standing there, surrounded by onions and chuckling to himself, Galvani set off, following the rubble strewn tracks left by the mysterious cartman and his assailants.

As the events of the morning settle down, and feasts for luncheons finish, the suns settle to the horizon and the people of Limbo start to get ready for the first day sermon. It is a few hours away but the church is preparing for the sermon. The Key is in its case and the people are practicing and reciting. Terra has stayed with Rust as he recrupriates with the doctor.

Treat a man like a dog and that’s what he’ll become...
I grovel today, but soon my time will come.
I was pushed, made to endure all pain,
But one day like a noose,
I reached my breaking strain.

“Think you’ll ever get out of this place?” Jamie had asked me the night before, just like every other night.
“I will, you too, Jamie. I’ll take you with me when I go.” That’s all I could think to say at the time.
Did I really mean it then or was I just trying to keep our hopes up?
“How you gonna do it? Escape I mean.” Jamie had that airy look in his eyes again as he stared at the waterlogged ceiling of our concrete cell. His hands were busy massaging his gimp leg. A nervous tick of his.
“Anyway I can.”
Jaime looked thoughtful for a minute, contemplating the answer, before giving an enthusiastic smile. “Yeah,” he said “me too.” I liked it when Jamie smiled. His youth really showed. When Jamie smiled, the boy was no longer a prisoner; he was the sandy haired kid from Rigabon again.
“’Night, J̲̦̣̼̰͔̳͠*̛̤̣̮̐̈́̂͊̄̐*̆ͩͦ͑͑ͩ͏̖̞̦*̶̳̣̖̊̋̑͒̈̀͋*̻̬̞̹̲ͩ̎͋ͤ͢y͋̓ͭ̌͋”
“’Night, Kid...”

So much red in that cell, but no sound ever left that place.
In the red room.
There was a tall man. A shiver runs down my spine. I think he is waiting. Sometimes he speaks. In whispers. My hands are fists, cut at the knuckle and blistered.
So much red in the room. A head in my hand. The cracking of bone against the concrete floor. That pretty smile painted across the ground.

***
Wild eyed and sweating, Edward shot up, finding himself now sitting upright in a cot. A primal fear took shape in his stormy eyes as they darted about, taking in this strange and unfamiliar room. He looked down, and saw himself without a shirt. He gazed upon the ugly scars that littered his flesh.
The huckster hated those scars, he hated each story they held. Cigarette burns from dad, knife wounds from angry customers, bullet scars from police. Each story was not a pleasant one. Edward grimaced as he caught a glance of the hellish hound tattooed on his shoulder. A painful reminder.

After a few moments of making sure he had all of his parts, Edward's gaze came upward and landed upon each of the figures in the room, looking for someone he recognized amongst the crowd. Fear gave way to confusion.
“Where am-“ he stopped himself as he laid eyes on Terra and then Zheng. A look of horror spread across his face, though is was quickly replaced by a broad grin. “Oh, how nice of you ladies to join me." Edward managed a small, pleasant laugh.
"Have you come to apologize for ruining my day and favorite cloak?” Edward suddenly winced as the disorientation began to ware off and his sore muscles settled in. “Well fuck me silly, did y’all take turns beating on me while I was knocked out or something? Lights above I feel like shit.” Edward stole a glance at the only one in the room who looked medically trained, as he massaged his sore muscles.
“I’m assuming you’re the saw bones that patched me up? I hope you know I’m not paying you, though I appreciate your service. Best I could do is give you some kind of discount at my shop, you know, for compensation and all that.” Edward grins before mumbling to himself. “What a day, huh?”

Yueying_Artwork_(DW9).pngZheng had decided to wait for Edward to wake up. She was going to leave but she wanted her money back and wanted him to pay her for the damages. She was sitting in the chair next to the cot. She was starting to rethink it the whole idea. I mean it's not like she didn't have money but she spend so much on trying to get her face back to normal. She sighed and stood up. She then turned towards Terra. "Well I think I'm just going to-" She was sudden cut off with Edward waking up in a panic. He looked confused horrified and then happy again. Amazing, she thought to herself dully. He can turn it on quick can't he? I will have you know I wouldn't dare a beat a man whose already passed out." She crossed her arms and looked at him seriously. She then smirked, "But I won't deny it was tempting." She said partly teasing him. She glanced at Terra. "I don't know what you plan to do with him but I'm saying this right now. I want him to pay me money back and pay for the damages." She then looked over Edward. "So big guy you gonna run again or you going to pay up?.....You know if you can't pay up I can always have you work off the payment." She said with slightly evil grin. "Your choice." She looked at the clock on the wall. "Hmm? Oh! It's about time for the sermon." She might go but she wanted to finish here first. She glanced back at Edward and noticed something. There was scars and stuff on him, which honestly didn't surprise her but what caught her attention was the tattoo. "Well now that's an interesting tattoo. When you get it?"

Galvani -

After following the trail, which ended with two confused looking mules which from a distance could be mistaken for small horses, Galvani found himself outside Limbo’s central church. Rather than enter blindly, Galvani decided to wait and gather more information. He soon spotted the face of a street urchin he knew, Ralfus. Ralfus was able to tell him that his man had collapsed outside the church and had been taken inside, presumably for medical treatment, accompanied however, by two women. Galvani suspected these were the same two women who had been chasing him down the streets. Ralfus was also able to lead Galvani to a servants entrance at the back of the church, but left quite quickly, seemingly afraid of being caught by the nuns. Yet he stayed long enough to insist on a two spikes payment for services rendered.

The church doesn’t look half so grand from this side. At the end of a dimly lit corridor formed by stacks of crates and bins is a door, and crouched silently by that door is Galvani. By sending minute waves of electricity into the metal of the lock and feeling for the reflected waves, he is able to sense the precise layout of the lock and know which pins are stuck and which are loose. This means that after a mere few moments, there is a barely audible ‘click’, followed by the creak of rusty hinges, and Galvani steps inside.

"He won't be working until I say so." he says to Zheng with Authority in his voice, Jack looked at Edward with old eyes making a wary smile "so long as you can get me some books that I don't have I'll be content with that." He went through his bag looking at all of his vials pulling out a reddish looking liquid he held it out to Edward "it'll help with the pain and the soreness, besides I don't need a merchants pay."

Lolrelv
Glamour Cardinal Joseph

Lolrelv was annoyed, very annoyed she had expected the secret police to just leave and see to more pressing matters, perhaps before she left this city she would make sure to destroy their reputation. That would be fitting for the stopping her mission after all simply killing them wouldn't work. Still she had declared protection and the police officer had stayed and been in public so Lolrelv couldn't just kill her for revenge and to clear her from the board. Still the church would still blow up in a few hours and there was little chance anyone would find the bombs hidden high high up in dark hidden nooks. Still she had managed to take advantage of this distraction to hide away form others and rig up a detonating arrow just in case she needed to get out of here sooner than midnight and needed to cover her tracks. Things had turned bumpy rapidly, but Lolrelv would smooth them out and make sure to get the key and make sure it was safe with the brotherhood.

With the night falling, the Church sermon began. The city was in the church, all awaiting the Pope to begin the sermon. It was bustling as everyone found their seats and then silence fell. The Key of Guidance, the very one set under the protection of the church, was lifted into the air by a pedastle and the Pope began the sermon.

"My Children... We gather here, at the Limbo City High Church, to celebrate the Solar Year. A once in a lifetime experience that happens only once every hundred years. We gather here to commemorate the Lord of Light sealing away the darkness in our 2nd sun, The Darkness' jail, and his tomb." He said as he turned towards the key that was now in air. "This is one of the eight keys of Light, those which lock away the darkness in said jail. A holy artifact entrusted with the various species and tribes by the Lord himself. Although it has been thousand upon thousands of years, we still hold the keys away from those wishing the world harm. We celebrate, this year, Family, friends, loves ones, and the lord himself. As these are what we can truly call close." As the Pope walks toward the center of the platform, a figure appears to be closing in on the glass of the church.

The back of the church explodes as a dragon of darkness appears from the rubble. It's rider hops off of it and looks to the crowd. The Pope had been able to jump out of the way from the large rubble.

"Now..." The giant, armored man said. "I will only say this once... Hand the key over... And no one has to die... Yet anyway. I'm sure that once Darkness takes over, all followers of Light will perish... Makes way for the true followers to make a new world after all." He said with a chuckle. His voice was deep and muffled, yet it echoed clearly through the church hall.

All of a sudden, the only sound that was made was a sniper shot. The armored man was hit and blown back, but the shot did not seem to do anything. While he was stunned it gave people the chance to evacuate. When the man stood, Terra was standing in the raptors with her gun aimed towards him. The man chuckled and took out his weapon, a sword that glowed like it was on fire.
