DSOTM In Character Chat

Aleesia smiled, glad that her friend was willing to come, though, not so glad about not really being able to go now.  Upon hearing Antonia call her shy her face went to that of shock, jokingly of course. "I am not!" She scoffed, "Anyways, I think it would be easier for us both to stay in the city with the meeting with the Queen and all right in the morning. I haven't missed this day in over several years but I'm sure it can wait, besides it'll do us both good if we're not spending an hour to get back early in the morning." Explained Aleesia, chuckling at how much of a rambler she must have sounded like. "I'll see you tomorrow, I guess." She said with a hint of sigh in her voice. After saying bye to her she walked out of the barracks, heading straight to the bathhouse for an evening bath. Looks like I'm sleeping in the barracks tonight.

The only thing that awoke Aleesia the next morning from her slumber was the crack of dawn breaking through the window, gleaming right into her eyes so that the moment she opened them she was blinded by the sun's light. Once finally pulling the covers off of herself she stretched out her arms and back, yawning as she did so. Gods, this bed will be the end of me. She thought while getting off of her bed to stretch her legs out which were they, too, were aching. As she rubbed her eyes and looked around for her armor she felt a sense of foreignness yet also familiarness, that's when she realized that the room she was in looked nothing like the one at her home and that the bed she had slept on was one amongst several others and then another 8 beds right across the room. It dawned on her then that these were the barracks she had slept in, then a sudden head rush feeling hit her as she scrambled to put on her armor, remembering that their was a meeting with the King and Queen today. Cursing under her breath as she strapped on her armor and weapons, Aleesia stormed out of the Guardsmen quarters, her face one of worry an fear that she might have been late and what the punishment of being late might be. If there was one she wouldn't have wanted to know it. Practically slamming open the doors of the barracks she jumped into the air, her wings sprouting out to their full span and flapping downwards to propel her into the air. In the sky she beat her wings as hard as she could to get a high enough altitude because the higher she was the easier she found it to be to navigate around the giant city of Terminus. She turned around every which way she could Aleesia attempted to pinpoint which direction the keep was but instead of finding the keep her eyes focused on a figure passing nearby. It took Aleesia a moment to notice it was Isabelle, which somewhat made her joyful to see her since that meant she could follow her since she too would've likely heard of the meeting, no doubt. She hoped. Propelling herself forward she flew in the direction of the fellow High Varethian to the direction of the keep, only hoping that she wasn't late.

Antonia raised an eyebrow, grinning. "Sure," she responded a tad sarcastically. "Not shy at all," she agreed with a slightly chuckle. "You're right. It's a better idea to stay here. I'm gonna go wash up then, if that's okay with you. See ya!" She waved a goodbye. And then the two ended up walking in the same direction. "Well. Hello again!" Antonia added, on the verge of laughing herself halfway to suffocation at this point. She spent the rest of the night trailing Aleesia, hoping that if the other Vartherian grew tired of her presence she would say so--she probably wouldn't, the poor girl was too nice for her own good--and hoping she wasn't being irritating or clingy. Antonia had been hoping to visit Aleesia's parents' home for years, and now that the chance had finally come it had sort of been ruined. It made the sun-born sad, but she stuck around with Aleesia to push all that away. All too soon, Antonia's friend retreated to her room, and Antonia to her own. She spent a long time staring at the ceiling.

Boy, do I regret that, was Antonia's first thought upon waking. She was so tired, now, and as she rolled out of her bed she hit the floor with a loud clunk and a groan, too asleep to realize she was probably being a nuisance. "It's too early for this crap.. Wish I could just sleep in," she mumbled to herself, rising to her feet and rubbing her bleary eyes. As she went about her morning routine, Antonia gradually woke up, until she was as energetic as ever. Dressed in her leather armor with a light green tunic and black leggings underneath, with her longsword strapped to her side, Antonia made her way towards the castle ((or whatever it is, sorry I forgot ._.)), meandering about and enjoying the early morning. Really, really, really early morning. Most people we're even up. The sun-born didn't know how she was awake this early in the morning, but appreciated whatever had made it possible anyways--she held less appreciation for the cause of it.

After a long walk that slowly dropped her back towards her tired state, Antonia reached her destination in Terminus, and she leaned against a wall as she waited for anyone--preferably Aleesia--to show up.

The trees rustled slightly above Antonia and Akira dropped down, landing gracefully and silently onto her feet. She stretched lightly, looking around to see if anyone else had arrived. Seeing no one, she looked over to Antonia, giving her a nod of acknowledgment

Fine morning for this, eh?

Her tone was sarcastic. Like Antonia, Akira had felt that it was really early for this kind of gathering. Being this early in the morning, Akira could only imagine it being something thats so grand, even her logical mind couldnt think of such a scenario. Akira pulled out one of her throwing knives, tossing it up in the air and catching it repeatedly

Like every morning, Oll spent it from the time he woke at the darkest hour of the night and spent it watching the sun dawn on their world, especially the mighty and large city of Terminus. Stroking at his beard, Oll summoned his spell book. The giant book appeared in but an instant in his arms and without a moments thought he began to flip through the many hundreds of pages through the book, as if he already knew what he was looking for, which he did. "Aha, here it is." He muttered, clearing his throat he began to recite the spell before him. It was a long incantation, used by him for shadow walking though mid chant he stopped, feeling as though there was something else to do before he left for the keep. Getting up off of the ground, using his staff to help him up, the Hexmaster made his way to the keep though taking a longer route. He had lived here so long he had noted all of the different routes of importance to get him to wherever it may be that he desired, today he took the scenic route. Nothing wrong with a little morning stroll before a grand meeting with the Queen and, possibly, the King, he hardly saw the man these days. Damn shame it was.

As Oll made his way to the Keep he took every moment in, admiring the terrace's and trees around him as they passed by. The occasional person he saw he would wave to, sparing a quick smile as he walked on. Continuing on his way Oll's ear twitched and he froze, for he could tell even at a distance that there was someone behind him. His eyes turned to the left though he didn't move his head, or move in general, instead he pulled his staff from the side to in front of him and created a dark blue orb in his palm. Around the small orb emitted a dark hue of red and as he turned around in quick succession he raised his hand as if he were going to send it spiraling at whomever was behind him but he stopped as soon as he realized it was the Grandmaster, Arkus. Although the two didn't work together he knew the man, most he could fool but Oll knew better than to fall for him being just a young boy, the man was older than him! "Ah Arkus, apologizes if I startled you. With the recent problems of criminals around the city you can never be too sure of who might be stalking." Stated the Hexmaster "No doubt you are headed to the meeting, yes? Perhaps we might converse on the way?" Suggested Oll with a grin.

Arkus had awoken the next morning stiffly. Damn, catching criminals the previous day really took a toll on a few century-old body. Making a hot drink, he freshened up somewhat before departing early for the meeting. The Queen wanted to see him, yes, that was it. Still half-asleep, he floated through the halls on a small bed of mana in the general direction of the meeting room, where the meeting was said to take place. It was not long that before his method of magical transportation came to a halt and before him stood a man holding a glowing orb of some kind of magical property, "That's from chapter 43, wasn't it?" He mumbled sleepily, recalling the magic from somewhere roughly in his own book. Not that he had one anymore, it had burnt in the fire and was missing loads of the ancient tomes' knowledge, but he had still memorised it all the way from back then. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up, the bed of mana becoming a chair. He regarded the man, slapping his face to wake himself up and then sipping his bitter drink before nodding to Oll, "Yes, yes, I am, Master Grimyar. Lets walk... Depart." His silvery cloud of slightly translucent mana carried him forth at walking pace. He stretched out on his chair, emitting yet another yawn, "So what do you reckon this meeting is about? The Queen herself has apparently requested us. I assume you also received the parchment? I'm supposing, given that the matter seems to be of great importance, that a threat to the kingdom has arisen. It could be that a neighbouring kingdom has decided to set it's sight on us from far away lands." He played with a blob of mana that he hardened into a small ball, which he tossed up in the air to then catch again. It was honestly quite the picture of a bored child in class, not a bored child in discussion of political endangerment of a great many people.

@Veyd Sahvoz (Sorry for the late response, had to go sleep and then school stuff. :P )

There was a sharp sound of wings beating, and a whistle before isabelle landed gracefully, if a bit hurriedly near the two Varatheians, stretching out her wings with a deep yawn. Antonia, she had seemed to not get enough beauty sleep, although that might be a good thing... she seemed more pleasant when tired. She seemed a little surprised to see the two of them there, raising a light brow. "Hmm... how many did the queen summon exactly?" No good morning, only that. She knew the two other women, if only barely. They had trained together on occasion, and even spoken rarely, but they only knew Izzy as an aloof example of the haughty nature of their people... and if they thought hard enough, they might just remember her from years ago with the riot situation. Regardless, Isabelle leaned gracefully against a near by tree, away from most anyone but still in earshot, ringing her hilt of her blade. She was not very good at the finer details of social grace, preferring the art of the blade than the art of speech.

Antonia shuffled, unsure of how being addressed casually by what should've been a superior made her feel. How was she supposed to respond? Smiling a bit nervously, Antonia nodded towards the assassin in agreement with her sarcastic statement. "Wonderful," she responded with the same tone of voice. The awkward moment was interrupted with another newcomer. This lady wasn't even quite out of the academy! But the trademark silver hair and the graceful confidence immediately gave way to the realization that this girl was one of the best swordsmen offered by the academy--Isabelle Calmacil, wasn't it?--and so it kinda made more sense then. Isabelle could put some of the army's bunch--Antonia herself included, probably--to shame.

"Not sure, miss," Antonia responded, deciding to take a more polite response. Isabelle was a huge unknown to her, and the knowledge of her skill put Antonia on edge--at least with Akira the skill level made more sense, what with rank and all. Not to mention, the Vartherian could possibly be thinking of the wrong person anyways. Who knew?

"Uhm, aren't you from the academy? You must be awfully skilled to be called up here. I'm.. just trying to make sure I'm thinking of the right person.. Your name is Isabelle Calmacil, right? I heard rumors from the school kids." Seeing as Antonia never really went to the academy after her parent's death--being raised by Mudrunners and all--she wasn't the most familiar with Isabelle's skills, having never seen them in action, but she'd heard enough fanatical descriptions to probably nail the newcomer's name right off the bat.

Akira laughed lightly, amused by Antonia's slight discomfort. She sheathed the knife that was out, stretching out and pulled her cloak to the side to reveal the wings of a Varatherian. Akira's wings expanded for a moment as she stretched, then folded back in and the clock came back down to hide them

Well, if you ask me, theres bound to be more coming around.

Akira was well aware of Isabelle's progress through the academy. Every day, Akira got at least one report of her exceeding performance. Akira was someone hard to impress, but she had no doubt that Isabelle could handle herself easily

(i'll advance in a few hours, just been busy atm)

Isabelle had merely given a nod of her head at the first reply, stepping delicately over the stone pathway on the opposite side of the grounds... yet still, she was not far away, and easily within conversation range. She would admit that she was surprised... she understood why herself and even why Tyrion might be called, but this woman she knew little about... she was lost in thought when Antonia called out hesitantly, opening her eyes with a soft 'hmm?', only to glance up and see the same woman she had been thinking about speaking. It took her a moment to remember what she had said before speaking herself. "Yes, that is she." She replied simply with a nonchalant tone, tilting her head as she spoke again, "and you are..." it took her a moment, and several seconds of staring, but finally recognition sparked in her eyes. "Antonia, no? There are many at the Academy who speak of you and your... unique upbringing." Simply by her tone, it was clear that the gossiping was not favorable at all towards the Vartherian... and why would it be? Someone such as her, being raised by mudrunners did not go over well with many of the upper class. Many of those same upperclassmen folk often used Antonia ad the butt of their jokes. Something shifted subtly in isabelle eyes and just like that the haughty look and nature was gone. "I apologize... if it helps, I never participate in them." The change was only there for a moment, and just as quickly faded away as she leaned back on the tree, as high born looking as ever. "Hopefully she will see us soon." She spoke, attempting for a slight change in the topic.

"Can't say I'm impressed, it is you of course so I would be a fool to not expect someone of your skill to not know it." Chuckled Oll as he began to walk alongside the other master who floated on his own chair of mana. The only reason Oll had walked instead of shadow walking was because he admired the scenery of nature around him and couldn't possibly give that up. As the two walked Arkus began asking him of their summons, Oll shaking his head in reply. "It would seem to me a bit odd that another kingdom would randomly declare us a threat, though it is a possibility. Perhaps it has to do with the recent crime happening around the city that I've noticed." He stated, nonchalantly shaping the orb in his hand into a dagger which he later dispelled. "I suppose even the highest ranking masters aren't told everything..." Said Oll to no one really, letting his thoughts escape from him verbally. In the end the would not know until it was revealed, all in good time.

@Destructus Kloud (sorry for the long wait)

Having been following Isabelle for a while Aleesia landed on a path a ways away from her, she figured it would seem odd for her to be following but she was simply to tired to thin straight at the moment so instead she just walked to where she heard the sound of voices. There was one, two...and now three that she could tell and as she approached down the path she had pretended she stumbled across them. "Oh, good morning." She said "I take it you've also received summons from the Queen?" Asked the Vartethian, folding her wings behind her back as she approached three. She was surprised that she knew them, having been sure they were all soldiers, well one of them was for sure -Antonia- who she had spotted almost immediately, and the other two she couldn't quite remember where she met them but she knew of them. "You two must be...Isabell and Akira, yes?" She asked, hoping she had gotten the names right.

Akira glanced over to the newcomer and at the mention of her name, she nodded

Aye. And you are Isabelle, are you not?

Akira had heard many names throughout her career. It still surprised her that she could remember who was who. She was lightly twirling a knife between her fingers, her silver and purple hair flowing lightly in the breeze that came by.

There are four of us currently....who else has the Queen summoned?

"Ah, it's been years since I have read over the book. Perhaps the one I read was just outdated? Never mind, it doesn't really matter." Arkus then used some mana to grab a small glass of water that a servant was walking by with, taking a sip with contented sigh before putting it back again. He scratched his head, "Well it can't be good news is the point.  Perhaps we should hurry to find out sooner of this matter of utmost importance." They stopped as they arrived to the room the meeting was said to take place, grand ornate doors standing before then. Arkus glanced to Oll, "Well, shall we?"

@Veyd Sahvoz

Antonia seemed surprised to be recognized, but as she figured out the reason why after observing Isabelle's tone and expression she frowned and rubbed the palm of her right hand with her left thumb, one of her many nervous gestures. She simply shrugged at Isabelle's reassuring that she never participated in the making fun, and did her best to perk up again when Aleesia entered the conversation. The Vartherian grinned and waved at her friend, although the frustration from only a few seconds ago still lingered in the back of her mind. She couldn't get the thought out of her head that people would poke fun at a simple thing with a terrible reason behind it, and while she did her best to move on from it like she preached to others she couldn't seem to let it go. It led to inwardly bashing herself at her whininess and self-pity. After a while it would fade, but at that moment her anger only built, and would continue until she felt like crying--and finally did cry--after some stupid reason that happened to stress her out. Emotions were dumb.

((Sorry for the short post. @Veyd Sahvoz @Warhawk @FabulousTrash))
