Fantasy Dragon Thieves

Kimya shrugged casually. "I'm going into the mountains to examine the natural resources. It's a dangerous job, but it will be worth my time." Technically, she wasn't lying. Kimya just wasn't saying what natural resource she was tasked in finding. "As long as you pull your weight, I'll let you tag along. Who knows? Maybe you'll even find dragon eggs."

"I would love it if I didn't have to steal a dragons egg at all. " Fickle huffed crossing his arms across his chest."If I didnt need the money I wouldn't do it. Who knows though maybe I will be able to find another way to get the money I need without having to steal a little dragon just to sell it into a life full of the unknown."

"Well, some people really need the money." Kimya sighed. She wasn't going to be swayed by an elf. Sure, she questioned the morality of her job, but there was no choice. That healer was the only healer who didn't refuse her. The rest didn't want anything to do with her on account of her debt. His crazy pricing forced her to take this job. Her mother was going to die if she didn't. Kimya's expression hardened. She was going lose everything. Her world was crumbling apart before her eyes. She was not going to let morality get between her and her mother. Whatever it took, Kimya was ready for it.

"I know." Fickle sighed folding his arms behind his head as he looked at the sky." Still thought." He shook his head." I can't help but wish there was another way to get money. Its a foolish dream but ah what can you do in this twisted world but dream."

The women in the corner seemed to be ignoring Aragaki and Aragaki decided to leave her alone. As he turned around, he saw a men dressed all in black with a face that is so pale it seems as if he is a dead person in the corner. He had never seen this guy in the pub before. He went over to the men and offered him the deer. "Hey, get some deer to make yourself look healthier! "

Realizing that someone might be talking to him, Brand revealed his hood a little bit. In his view he saw a young man with a bow which was almost to the height as its owner. At first, Brand was quite confused whether he should answer him or not, for he didn't want to get into any trouble let alone other's trickery. But if he rejected his hospitality, the man would probably get mad with a sense of being despised. "It must be hurt by the shot from that bow," he said to himself. As the matter of fact, he was not afraid of that at all, yet he hated to do anything that was unnecessary, the same feeling to a fight.

In this case, he thought that he should take the prey from him and share some tail feathers from a huge carnivorous bird in return. The feathers were light but firmly tight. He got that on his way to here, and he considered that the feathers are the best raw materials for arrows. And that's why even though he was not an archer, he still kept that stuff in his pocket.

Aragaki was very happy to see the tail feathers. He knows how dangerous it is to gather the feathers because they come from a very huge and carnivorous bird. However, they were the finest feathers for making arrows. Many people died when trying to gather the feathers. Aragaki never haunt the bird himself. He thinks that it is too risky. He would rather buy the fathers from the merchants in town. Seeing the feather , Aragaki accepted the them happily. "This men must be a tough guy to defeat the bird" Aragaki thought to himself. "It will be wonderful if I can earn his trust and team up with him to haunt the dragon eggs" Aragaki decided to introduce himself to the man. "I am Aragaki, the Emerald Archer. I believe you have heard of me before. Nice skills for you to haunt the bird. Any interest in haunting something more dangerous?"

The moment Brand heard Aragaki's words, he considered that it may be a good choice to go hunting with others. To be honest, this was the first time he cooperated with a stranger, but the reputation of the Emerald Archer was so fine that he decided to try to make friends with him and went hunting. Even though the hunting was dangerous, it was worth trying. After all, he was a bounty hunter. If he got something that was priceless for others, he would earn both fame and wealth easily and thus be permitted to go on high-level missions.

"My pleasure," he said to Aragaki. "Greed is good, with your help, I bet we can deal with any kinds of trouble in front of us." "So, what's next?" In his heart, he prefer to places such as forests or mountains that they could take advantages of Brand's fencing which was full of nimbleness and Aragaki's powerful archery. Determined by his curiosity of what special skills the man owned, Brand told him that he just couldn't wait to fight. But firs, he needed to buy some necessities for the long journey.

Alras shook her hands, the feeling of chains wrapped around her wrists still lingering. She had just recently been freed, after a few days of being held captive by the humans in the village. She had allowed herself to wander in the village, in search of food but unfortunately for her, they weren't exactly orc friendly, just like many others. It didn't surprise her, considering what her people had done the past years but they shouldn't be generalizing them. She wasn't as violent and blood thirsty as most of her kind.

She was still hungry and by the way things were going, it seemed she will be hunting in the woods for a meal... again. She could feel their eyes watching her as she passed by.She was freed after proving to them she was no threat but each and everyone of the humans in the village had the same look in their eyes. Hatred, anger, disgust.. They didn't trust her at all but she paid no heed to them. Whether they believe her or not was their decision. She'll do her own things.

Finally, she was out of the village. She looked at the forest ahead of her. It seemed like another night in there was inevitable. She continued on her path and deep in her thoughts, she almost hit someone who was coming her way. She managed to angle herself and avoid hitting her.

"Sorry." she mumbled, looking at the person. She was an elf, according to her features.

@Zazz that's you :3

Azaria, having been too lost in her thoughts again to pay attention to the energies around her, doesn't notice the orc until she announces herself. She swears, breaking from her thoughts and pulling her dagger from her belt in a flash of elven-crafted metal. "Do I have a stamp on my forehead that says, 'Look at me, I LOVE company?' I swear." She shakes her head in a rage of social claustrophobia and throws her hands in the air, stomping away from the human and the orc. "Forbid I walk through a forest alone!"

(I love her temper. It's so unnecessary. :3

@Aeri Rosevier @Coro )

Alras just raised an eyebrow at the outburst of the elf. It seemed almost bumping into her was a big deal for her. She gripped the hilt of her ax when she revealed her dagger but she didn't seem to plan on using it as she had walked away instead. Still, she followed her even though she seemed she didn't like anyone accompanying her. She intrigued Alras and she somewhat wanted to know what she plans on doing.

Solitude. All she ever wanted was solitude on her quest, and here she is with two people following her, and that... that thing flying around, somewhere. Azaria seethes with anger and frustration at the world, frustration with her lack of elven powers and serenity. Human emotions are so... so...

She stops, suddenly. Hearing footsteps behind her, she turns abruptly, raising her dagger in front of her to halt the green woman. Azaria narrows her eyes, sizing up the orc out of habit. "What's an orc doing so far north?"

"Well there isn't any other way, so stop dreaming. If you can't deal with your shifting moralities, then go back to your home. You shouldn't even be in human territory anyway!" Kimya snapped, her red eyes narrowing at Fickle with the intensity of the stress and anger that she had built for months. Her mind was hazy and her attitude cold as stone. Kimya felt a headache coming on fast, she needed a drink to deal with the past few weeks. Her mother's sickness, the daunting task of dragon hunting, the healer's deadline, and now this annoyance. But she couldn't have a drink, that wouldn't get her anywhere. The young woman was not going to let someone close to her die again, she couldn't bear to go through that again. Kimya sighed, muttered an apology to Fickle, and pressed on.

They headed to the marketplace together. "What exactly do you do for a living?" Aragaki is very curious about this man. "Have you heard about the dragon eggs?" Aragaki decides to be straight with this guy. He is determined that this stranger will become very helpful in the future. Aragaki wants to make sure he can have him along on this long journey of hunting dragon eggs.

Alras stopped in her tracks when the elf pointed a dagger at her. She crossed her arms after what she had asked her. "I see no reason why not." she retorted. Nobody owned this land. She should be free to go wherever she wants and nobody can stop her from doing so. If she continues to pose as a threat to her, she will not hesitate to defend herself.

"I'm a bounty hunter." Brand replied. He lightly knocked on his sword with his index finger and smoothed the silk cover on it. "......" Then, he remain silent. He had heard about the dragon eggs before, but he knew that if he really did anything that was related, the uncertainty of risks would lead to things that were much more than just getting into trouble. To be honest, he realized that more and more missions are provided by either kings or the gentry, and he wanted to give it a try as well under his curiosity. When he was thinking whether to answer Aragaki or not, he passed by a stranger who looked absolutely healthy but kept begging for coins to the passersby with a faint and cunning smile on his face. At this moment, he was suddenly shocked by his cowardice, for his lack of bravery to face the challenge was somewhat similar to that bagger, unable to look forward and do something remarkable. He made up his mind and answered affirmatively "I,m Brand. Sorry to introduced myself late. But please, tell me more about the dragon eggs."

"Looks like someone is interested!" Aragaki is now even more excited for being able to find a bounty hunter as a teammate. Since the days of the collapse, laws don't exist anymore. The stronger survives in this world. Bounty hunters are one of these people. They are known to have extreme skills and a cold-blooded mind. "The dragon eggs is the ultimate power. Whoever have the egg shall have the power and magic of the dragon. I was sent to hunt for the dragon egg by my human leader. I lost most of my human allies on the last patrol. On our last patrol, we encountered a group of orcs. They want to hunt the dragon eggs, too. One of my allies made fun of them, telling them that they will never make it. The orcs were enraged but luckily nothing happened.....for now. Later that night, we camped beside a river. All was fine until we put out the last torch of fire of our camp. The orcs ambushed our camp. We were not ready for this However were not going to let them just kill us. My man and I grabbed our weapons and fought. But we were no match for the unknown battle. My man told me to leave and I told them that I will not leave without them. So we retreated together and the orcs finally gave up on us. I lost 6 of my man that night. Only 3 of us survived. The other morning, when I returned to the camping ground with the survivors, we saw a horrible site. The orcs killed and cut my man into pieces. You can see body parts every where on the ground. The orcs chopped off their heads and put the heads on spears. We were terrified and the survivors gave up. But not me. Now my human king is going to consider be dead, I can hunt the dragon egg for myself. I have never wanted to work for him. I want to build my own power to defeat him. Now my time has come. I will get the dragon egg no matter what it takes to revive my noble blood and you are the first one that I want to recruit now. After we have the dragon egg, you no longer have to hide away from people and be a bounty hunter. We shall rule the people together!"

"I'm sorry to hear that." "Orcs. I can't wait to fight." Covered by the hooded cloak, it was unable to tell the feeling from his face, yet his body was imperceptibly trembling because of a trill. His fist grasped the sword tightly, and under the cloak, his eyes stared. "I do what I must. I don't hide, nor escape, formerly or in the future. I know there would be plenty of obstacles in front of us, but this is what I'm searching for, challenges and fights. Life is a mixture of love and hate, sweetness and bitterness. I mean, this is the flavor of life" Brand replied. He never came up with the idea to be a bounty hunter in the shadow. It was his dream job, and he was quite proud of it. After he heard the story of Aragaki, he learned more of this guy. And he considered that this mission was worth trying; after all, he may benefit from the dragon eggs as well if they really get one.

Azaria stops to think about the orc's statement. She lowers a dagger with the faintest of smiles, her anger dissolving. "Yes. Why not? It is free land, after all. It's just... odd." With a keen eye, she notes that she is just outside the range of the orc's axe, too close for the green woman to make good use of it. The orc is vulnerable to her short-range weapons, such as her dagger. "Nor do many orcs stray so far from their tribes."

She nodded to her words. Alras was glad this elf did not believe in just conquering lands. She was also glad she that her temper had somehow died down. She saw her sizing her up, probably looking for weaknesses. She has no plans on fighting though and she hopes it would not come to that.

"Well, I guess I'm not your average orc." she answered. She then extended her hand with a smile. "Alras." she introduced herself. "I just got out from being imprisoned for days by the humans." she finished, gesturing towards the village's direction.

The half-elf, understanding the curiosities of being different, begins to somewhat relax around the tall, green woman. That is, until the orc, Alras, mentions her previous housing. "Why were you imprisoned?" Azaria asks, cautious of strangers, and slow to trust. She still holds her dagger, though not raised and poised to strike. Though, she has a feeling about this one. Her conscience feels honest to the half-elf. She refrains from taking the offered hand, wanting the answer to her question before any friendly gestures are made.

Perhaps that wasn't the best thing to say for a first impression. Being imprisoned isn't exactly a nice thing to hear but she had to answer the question anyway.

"Nothing. I was simply passing through but they would not believe me." she told her. She hated how orcs were treated as savages but she hated all kinds of discrimination in this world. She still kept her hand in place, hoping she would accept it. If she did not in another few moments, she'd drop it. This elf did seem wary of her still so she understands.

Azaria assesses the orc and her answer, her eyes searching the green face for any sign of a lie. When she finds none, she glances over the orc's possessions once more, checking for any short-ranged weapons. Slowly, still wary of Alras, the half-elf meets the higher gaze of the orc, chin raised, and takes the offered hand. "Azaria." Her grip is firm, like the warrior in her, yet delicate as her elven features.

As Brand responded to Aragaki, he made up his mind that he had to be a bounty hunter whose name was carried to every corner of this world. There may be full of brambles in his way to the goal, but he told to himself that kept his courage to face the difficulties forever if he still wanted to be a bounty hunter. From then on, this merit of Brand had become his most steady faith. After he came up with this idea, he felt more relaxed and thus his body stopped trembling, recovering from an extremely thrilling state. With the help of the deep inhalation, he grasped his calmness back and kept himself conscious.

He went to several shops to get all the necessities for the next destination, the sweeping mountains near here. Outside the gate, there was entire mountains within eyesight. No one could tell where there's anything aggressive or fatal and poisonous. Before he spent all his money, he bought several knives which were small, light but exceptional sharp. Actually they cost him a huge amount of money, but Brand believed that they were worthy of purchasing. He considered that these knives were able to carry out serious injury if hurt by them, so the safety problem was resolved. If they were lucky enough to avoid all the calamities.

"So, what's your plan, if you don't mind me asking." Alras asked Azaria. She didn't really have any other things to do. She has not been doing anything productive lately. Plus, remembering what Azaria said earlier, she wanted to be alone in this. If she wished to continue as is, the orc would respect her decision and go on her own way.
