Dragon Riders [Inactive]

Sol shook his head and Nidhogg flew down as Sol scowled him. "Stop showing off you d*mn dragon. No body cares alright and stop shining so bright!" Nidhogg lost all its glow and looked at him. He growled but made no attempt to move. Sol looked at everyone. "Ignore him he is ahhhh... Just angry that the world isn't the same as before. There use to be very few dragons..."

Calypso laughed at the other rider getting mad at his dragon. "You do know that getting mad at them does not help." She said trying to keep a straight face. "Right Soul?" She asked patting her dragon. He just snorted air from his nostrils.

Sol looked at Calypso. But still it looked like he wasn't. "Eh.. Thats true but at least your dragon can't back lip to you." Sol said and Nidhogg spoke again. "I could eat you but you would taste horrible." Nidhogg remarked. It was rare for a dragon to be able to just simply talk.

"No, but I normally have a good idea what he is usually talking about." She said. Then she turned to Nidhogg. "Good job for saying that you would eat him."" She said smiling with her thumbs up. "Dont you agree with me that you cant form a good relationship with each other by yelling. She asked the dragon.

Nidhogg cocked its head to the side. "True but I rather him yell at me than be nice...trust me he is creepy when he is nice. But yeah he can lighten up a bit." Nudhogg clicked his tongue and shuddered. Sol turned his head towards Nidhogg. "......... .........." His metalic silence was uncomforting.

Khajin sat watching the events unfold with a bored look on his face as he sharpened his blades. All this commotion served no useful purpose. When he was done he resheathed them and stood up to stretch. He turned to Lunos "looked like the two brothers got annoyed with the loud one .. can't really blame them though, all that light and sound just revealed our position to anyone who might be in the castle waiting for us." Lunos cocked his head and looked into Khajins eyes. The bond thay they shared along with thr years spent together made it so that Khajin knew what Lunos ment without saying a word. Khaji smiled and nodded, "Yeah I agree .. we should have infiltrated on our own."

Khajin tied up his hair and Lunos stood and stretched then lowered his side so that Khajin could hop on. Khajin turned to the others as he gripped his reins. "Element of surprise is gone...those two will alert anyone who hasn't already been alerted by the loud one. Might as well back them up." Lunos then leaped into the sky in a straight line up, without Khajin saying anything the dragon knew how he wanted to approach this. I'll Spirit myself down through the castle roof, that way they won't see us coming Khajin thought to himself as Lunos shot higher up until he was well above the clouds. Icicles formed along Khajin dreads and his googles fogged up but he knew Lunos knew where to go. He grabbed his blades and clipped them together into the bladed staff form and waited for Lunos to give him the signal. Through breaks in the clouds Khajin saw that they were almost directly above the castle. Lunos opened his wings wide and glided the rest of the way. This was a special trick they discovered early on in their training; because of the way the sun hit Lunos' reflective silvery body they could be virtually undetectable as long as he minimized movement. Lunos flexed the muscles on his back where Khajin crouched waiting for the signal. Once he felt it Khajin smiled and leapt off his dragon, putting his hands out in front of him as he fell he reached for the fabric of space and time. His body started to fade as he found his grip and gently parted the reality in front of him to enter the Spirit Realm...

Sterkr let out a roar that shook the heavens, and loose stones rained down from the already destroyed city's walls and buildings. It was the night before Khajin came to Dunnath. In attempt to bring all attention to himself and Uro, he shook the earth with tremendous might. Seeing smoke billowing from the castle in the center of the city, Sterkr and Uro dive-bombed directly into the side of the building.

MEANWHILE

Elfangor and Svinnr approached the city as Sterkr hit the ground, having circled around it. They now approached the side opposite to the one Uro had come to. The quick, dark dragon darted over the walls and dropped of its passenger. Then, it made it's way to the now-destroyed castle to assist Sterkr.

Nexus folds a leg over his other and smirks at the duo's antics. "One believes he has my attention, while the other thinks he has the element of surprise. In my line of work you must be overly attentive. But i am not an enemy as of yet, so i will behave and be polite." Diablo looks at him and snorts sending smoke and metal shards towards his face. "You may friend are a dick, apparently you think i am not polite. I can be... Shut up with your logic lizard. Just behave and stay alert, i don't want to get into a fight were we will be outnumbered. Not fair if i put most of their little team away." He laughs slightly and awaits his visitors to join him in his throne room.

Khajin fell through the sky at what seemed to be 2x the speed he should have. He was used to this though as time passed a bit quickly in the spirit world. Everything around him was tainted with blue and he could see the shimmering lights that marked where there we once spirits. As he fell through the roof of the castle he noticed that like the village he had just previously scouted, there were no spirits. A whole castle destroyed and not a single human spirit around ... either nobody died or something took the spirits along with this castle, he thought to himself as he softly landed in the topmost room of the tower. He looked around and when the coast was clear he reach forward and pulled himself silently back into the living world. He could hear the ruckus that the brothers had created and thanked them silently for it as he unsheathed his weapon and descended the stairs as silent as a ghost just as he was taught..

Elfangor crept through the streets of Dunnath. Uro would deal with things in the castle while he investigated things outside.

Nimbus blinked dumbly, the intelligent spark usually in his eyes glazed over, and for the brief exchange in the distance, rider and dragon were equally as vacant as thought. Had some let a host of titanic kindergarteners get into the adult stash of primal power? "And this is why I hate humans..." Nimbus sighed before returning to the task before him.

"I'unno, I think it'd be fun. " Canaan smiled childishly, genuinely pleased with the simple concept of hitting something.

"Yes, well, your ideas of fun are what, quite literally, landed you in THIS situation!" Nimbus hissed, angrily shaking the cord-like muscles in his talons. "Remind, next time I'm feeling generous, to never again indulge your whims. You're supposed to hang on when your mount does a Tiamat forsaken barrel roll! Your legs LITERALLY EXPLODED from absorbing that several thousand foot drop. If your weren't an alchemical abomination, you'd never have survived the first few days on your own. I swear boy, you need the fear of death put into something fierce!" Nimbus devolved into a raving mad rant as Canaan merely bobbed his head from side to side, entirely too pleased with how things had turned out. As Nimbus plucked the cords apart, allowing them to instinctually tighten and reform his legs, popping noises issued from his legs as bone grafted itself to familiar bone. In a matter of moments, Nimbus was darkly mumbling something about torture devices and an ever so oblivious rider he felt would be most gratifying to try them on as Canaan felt a restoration of blood flow and control realigning with his voluntary muscle control. Standing up and grabbing his great bone club, he motioned towards the noise with a grunt.

Nimbus sighed and slunk onto all four, having to 'degrade' himself lest they risk flight and it's consequences again. Even without devastating power, an imposing physique, or any real magic to speak of, Nimbus still had his pride as a dragon. He was quite huge for his breed, a whooping 25 foot wing span from tip to tip fully extended. his 25 foot length, from tongue to tail tip, and his opposable thumbs (although the thumbs weren't exactly a common dragon trait, it was still something that allowed Nimbus fine motor skills. How many other dragons had written a moderately successful chapter book series in their own pens-talon-ship?).

Eventually arriving at the site of a gathering of dragons and their own charges to tend, Nimbus slicked the fur on his head back, and stood on his hind legs as he waltzed forward. "Greetings my fellow scaled brethren! Good to see that I'm not the only one burdened with guiding the foolish flesh folk of the world. Might I introduce myself?" Nimbus paused only briefly as he placed his claw upon his chest and bowed. " I am Nimbus, of the nomadic cloud wyvern clan, and this is my charge, Can..aan...?" As he quite bowing and stood erect once again, roughly 15 feet tall, he looked about just in time to see Canaan wander straight under a rather large paling of dark mist.

"'lo" was all Canaan offered as he peered about the dark area under the cover of darkness.

Shiroi looked up from her own isolated little black world when a strange figure walked right into her shroud of shadows. She had been picking the petals off of flowers that had died in her hands like they'd been poisoned. Fear had his nose under her hands, trying to eat plant she was holding. "Um...hello?" she said quietly as she looked at the person who had come up to her. Fear stood up and with a pulse of his wings cleared away all of the black mist in the area. Shiroi stood up and brushed the stray petals off her white shirt. "It's nice to meet you," she said with a smile. Luckily there was a dragon close by. And on two legs. She'd never seen anything like it before! "I'm Shiroi, of White City, and this is Fear" she said with a gesture to her dragon.

Nidhogg looked at Nimbus and opened its mouth. "Well another talking dragon perfect. I am tired of talking to humans." He rumbled and shook his head.

Sol looked at the new arrival. "Greetings." Sol said and smiled inside the mask.

Nimbus arched a scaled eyebrow at the clattering collection of bone-like appendages towering before him. He then tilted his head slightly upward, and narrowed his eyes tiredly as he responded thusly, "My good sir, I would prefer to converse with my equals, not some freakishly large collection of an ornately carved orange vegetable the humans seemed to use as lanterns on hallow's eve." He snorted matter of factly.

Canaan had already averted his attention, staring into the sky like a dumb puppy, still vacantly looking at where the shadow had enveloped him, completely ignorant of the response he had received, as it was already gone from his mind. Nimbus, however, took the cue and acted upon it. "Greetings, lass of the flesh folk, I see your custodian has done well to teach you social graces. It's a pleasure to make the acquaintance of one so responsive to the guidance of their superiors!" Nimbus grinned his serpentine grin, his sharp teeth glistening with nothing but the best of intentions.

watching below, fenrir watched the detachment of riders start assaulting that castle from on high he could see what most of them were thinking in there plan desperation, recon, close air support. a good setup. albeit the brothers were a bit obvious. vajra was flying along the edges of the clouds like a grate white shark sunning near the shore. wing tip touching the clouds. trusting Khajin to do what he did best the older rider was possibly one of the best a the sneaky stuff he had see, although fenrir had only been a rider for 2 year. bending low placeing his hammer in it cradle on the saddle fenrir watched and wated for any danger, vajra had found an updraft and was now almost motionless in a glide watching waiting.

Shiroi smiled and curtsied to the dragon. She waked closer to Numbus and clasped her hands together in front of her, "I must say, the pleasure is all mine. It's not every day I find myself fortunate enough to be in the company of such a highly educated individual. May I ask where you gained such a proper education?" she asked. She was excited to learn about a dragon who'd not only learned to talk, but managed to surpass even most of the humans she had met in the past.

Fear stared at Canaan for a moment. The dragon slowly tilted his head as he tried to understand what on earth he was doing. After a moment, Fear sat down and also looked up at the sky quizzically. Perhaps is saw something? Maybe? The sun was up there. Stupid sun. Fear hated the sun. He puffed another thing veil of black smoke to filter the light coming down on him. Stupid light.

Nidhogg looked pissed. " I am older than all of you newbie dragons and a equal true that no dragon can be on equal footing but that was disrespectful!" Nidhogg was about to shine but didn't as Sol held out his hand. "Nidhogg Quiet! Its not good to run that mouth of yours. " Sol scowled Nidhogg and he became quiet. Nidhogg stood on all fours. He was taller than most dragons being close to a Wyvern's height and mostly bones. But those very bones held power.

"Sorry about Nidhogg, he's so old he snaps at anything." Sol said and bowed.

Canaan allowed his jaw to hang open in response to the smoke like substance chocking the light out of the air again. He was not shocked by it, merely enthralled enough that the very limited processing power allocated to his mind couldn't be bothered to maintain the command to keep it shut. he continued to look blankly, limply waving his hands over his head at the shroud, willing his body to become taller. It could not obey, of course, but he did stand on his tip toes, and he seemed entirely pleased with the results.

Nimbus delighted in the praise. "Why, my dearest dove, it's basic knowledge amongst the denizens of the roaming clouds. As we roam, so to do we gain insight, knowledge, and a better understanding of our world and our place in it. I'm quite surprised though, your keeper must trust you abundantly to let you off leash. I see no restraint at all! It's simply amazing. I'd try to restrain Canaan, but...." he dejectedly rolled his eyes towards the lad, who was still flapping lazily at the shroud, "He lacks the drive to be disobedient, or anything more than simple, to be quite frank."

Nexus writes some things down in his journal for later use and then he writes a letter for his men to start bringing things to start the rebuild on Dunnath castle. So he can start his operations, legal and otherwise, as soon as possible. "Diablo i feel the hair on my neck stand up, be careful and more alert. I still want those 2 from earlier to know they aren't the only one here. Light 'em" Diablo huffs and the smoke starts the rows of torches along the wall, and the big flame behind the throne, which he still sat.

Shiroi chuckled again and looked back at her dragon, who had taken to copying Cannan and had but his force into his hind legs and pushed up to make himself taller. "My keeper keeps me on a very tight leash. I don't think I've been apart from him for more than hours at a time." she said with a fond smile, "though it must be fortunate to have a partner who willingly follows your lead. I can't tell you how many times Fear has scolded me for not listening to him. He's quite spirited...when he's in his element that is." she cooed.

Nidhogg grumbled as it stood at full height and towereed over the other dragons, he looked pissed from being disrepected. He picked Sol up and put him on his neck.

"Disrespectful dragon....." Nidhogg snorted then spat at the ground, burning a small portion of grass on instant contact. Sol patted him.

"Nidhogg our glory days are over stop with the crazy talk." Sol said and he rubbed Nidhogg's vertebrae.

Nimbus was mildly revolted and the disgusted look he cut Nidhogg made it blatantly obvious. "I must say, for an Elder being, you sure act like a 'tamed' dragon," Nimbus made air quotes with his talons," a very dire case of submission indeed..." He shook his head, allowing the cloud cotton soft fur of his mane to jiggle slightly. He turned his attention back to his more enamored audience. "I do wish I knew the joy of a faithful subordinate, instead I'm stuck with Canaan, a favor owed to a friend long gone. He's quite difficult to control when he's in one of his more..." Nimbus searched the peripheral of his vision while struggling for the word. "Exuberant moods?" He stated quizzically, still wondering if there was a better word. He shook his head slightly, attempting to clear his head.

"Anyways, I do find myself curious as to what a rather eccentric collection of dragons is doing here. I, myself, was headed here because the air smelled pure. I was quite disappointed to find this...devoid locale. Not so much as a mushroom spore on these winds. Sucked dry of all debris, enjoyable or not.'' Nimbus scowled at this, he was worried how something could extract all but the most basic of elements from the air, over such a vast area. This was beyond the ability of an elder Sky dragon even.

The torches of the castle lit all in unison. Khajin smiled to himself and his silently went from room to room. He would momentarily Spirit Step to see if there were any spirits left but after a while it became clear the castle was a void. In one room while Stepping he found a group of what looked like brigands, there were only about 8 or 10 and he was tempted to dispatch the outlaws but decided against it and instead eavesdropped. "Information is worth more than blood", his battle master had told him once. He walked around the room as they talked, completely unaware of him as he tool note of their armament.

So their leader is a rider....hmm this may complicate things, he thought to himself as he moved away from the room. He could hear the other dragon attacking the castle from the distance and thanked him silently. As he got closer to the throne room he could hear what must've been their leader mention him. Khajin smiled to himself and unsheathed his weapon. Yeah you might know I'm here but you dont know where and you can't touch me when I'm like this, he thought to himself.

He decided to take the bait .. he'd found out as much he could. It was time to determine whether this leader of bandits was going to be a problem. Khajin phased through the walls and entered the throne room. He took note of the dragon and sidestepped it. He walked up to throne chair and stood beside the man sitting in it. Khajin held his blade up to the man's neck and pulled himself back through the real world but left a little imperceptible tear in case he needed to escape.

"Friend or foe?", he whispered to the man on the throne as he materialized..

"That is a reserved question for those who have an agenda. They want to know if they should get rid of the person or use them. But in my current interests i am neither. I don't know you to call you a friend, and i am not foolish enough to attack someone so i am not a foe. I am Nexus leader of a group of brigands and over all bad people. This castle is now mine, but i wasn't the one who did this. Now then, would you mind removing your blade before i remove your leg?" The blade of a small sword rests against Khajin's leg as the man looks over his men that came to help. Diablo looked at them and huffed smoke before going back to sleep.
