This is a story I wrote a long time ago with a friend. I've changed the names of some of the characters and rewrote most of the introduction, but at least for this first part at least it will follow a lot of the same story beats and some new ones I'm adding. The story begins on the estate of a minor noble family living in the Free Marches, but that's not where it will stay. Eventually, something is going to happen to force Riley to move on, maybe to Orlais or even Tevinter. We could end up in Ferelden, but that is rather unlikely. This story takes place during the fifth blight, and other than some commentary and a few mentions we won't be interacting with the Hero of Ferelden or any of their companions. (The same goes for Hawke, even though the possibility of a cameo is even higher for them.)
There is room for two or three more people, I think, maybe four. I do want to keep the party relatively small. I tend to prefer writing smaller, more intimate stories with loads of character drama mixed with a healthy bit of action. Large groups of people don't really lend themselves well to that type of storytelling. If anyone is interested in joining feel free to make a request here. I do have a few caveats, though. No Templars, please. Having one in the party would make things, um... Rather difficult. >.> As an extension to that no Circle Mages, either, since they usually tend to have a Templar or two escorting them. Other than that you're free to create any type of character you like. I think the weapon restrictions in Dragon Age 2 and 3 are rather dumb, so just because you decide to play a rogue don't feel like you're restricted to using only knives or bows. It always annoyed me that Hawke or Bethany were mages hiding from the Templars yet they always carried a staff around like it wasn't painfully obvious what they were.
Anyway, the pacing of this thread is likely to be fairly slow. If you can manage at least a post a week it should be fine. I find that rapidly posting in a single day sometimes makes it hard for people to keep up.
