EXALTED CALENDAR

Download: Exalted Calendar

I've created a Calendar for Exalted based on a number of the other available Calendars. Inspiration was taken from Conrad and UncleChu's Calendars specifically.

Also note, that I changed the order of the months to make more sense. Thus the Calendar is not 100% canon. I hope you enjoy it though.

EXALTED CHEAT SHEETS

Download: Exalted Cheat Sheet - Social Combat!

I've created Two Cheat Sheets for Exalted Second Edition for my own campaign. These are meant to serve as a handout to Players and as a helpful reference to Storytellers alike. I have put them to great use and loosely plan to expand the set with 2 more Sheets: One for Mass Combat and one for Miscellaneous things (Feats of Strength etc.)

Previews:

Combat Sheet and Social Sheet.

EXALTED BATTLEWHEEL

Download: Exalted Battle Wheel

I have also created a Battlewheel in a similar visual style. It includes an 8-spoked Battle Wheel with instructions.

I hope you guys find my resources useful.

The only problem i have with it, is that the calender is not suppose to be round, so to speak. The Year starts with the coldest time of year and ends with the hottest, and between them there is only the calibration, no fall. But that's just me, and i'm sure this topic have been up for discussion before. But else i really like the look of it, great work.

I don't get the abbreviations in the combat sheet. What does, for instance, "-1i" or "-1e" stand for? Otherwise, very nice work. Will definately put these to work.

Groovy. Thanks. Landscape mode, too! Now I don't need to update my own 1st edition cheat sheets.

I believe "internal" (i.e. penalty changes pool) and "external" (i.e. penalty changes successes).

Correct!
I thought this was pretty obvious in itself so I didn't add a legend.

Also Re: Calendar I wanted a round year. *shrugs* It has a disclaimer about not being 100% canon.

Also for the Cheat Sheets, I plan on doing Mass Combat and Miscellaneous ones but don't have the time lately. If anyone wants to help and collect the appropriate material for the miscellaneous sheet... I'd appreciate it. (I have prepared mass combat already)

Where did you get your days of the week from?

I don't remember seeing days of the week named anywhere.

Your days are:

Moonday, Marsday, Mercuryday, Jupiterday, Venusday, Saturnday, Sunday.

I had actually altered the number of days in a week, making it six days a week with four weeks a month ( for 24 days a month) instead of the seven days a week, four weeks (for 28 days a month).

This was due to the length of year being 425 days with the normal calendar and 365 days with the shortened year.

In my games I have the days set with a significance to each day:

Sunday:  The day of worship set aside for the Unconquered Sun and all Sun based dieties.

Moonday:  As with Sunday, this day is set aside for all Lunar based dieties as well as Luna herself.

Farmday:  The day for all weekly farmer's markets

Feastday:  This day is set aside as a day for all citizens and free persons to relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Freeday:  A day for all slaves to be treated as if they were free, except for any attempts to leave (most plantations just give them the day off).  A slave may not be punished on this day for any act not considered a crime for a free person or citizen.  Foul luck is said to follow on the heels of any who break the ban on punishing slaves on Freeday.

Bankday:  All banks and financial institutions are closed on this day.  Very few loan sharks will even lend money on this day, as the tradition is so ingrained into society.

Where did you get your days of the week from?
I believe it was ConradHubbards Calendar.
Your DaysOfTheWeek are fine, but I feel that more GENERAL ones (such as the elements or the planets in the sky) are more appropriate. Yours are too much local tradition to me. Creation is too big for Bankday being everywhere.

IMHO.

Why would rulers anywhere allow for a Freeday? Sounds pretty silly, If I was a ruler somewhere, Id get rid of it immediatly. Unproductive, promotes slave rebellions by giving them a taste of freedom

The calendar has equinox's listed, but does creation have them?  Since it is a flat plan and there is no tilt, there should be no equinox.

All American Banks are clsed on Sunday (and every federal holiday as well).

In my game, the Guild has kept up the Bankday tradition, as has the Imperial Bank.  So, most of the other banks have followed suit.

Good stuff ya posted thar.  I will happily tap this to use in my game. :P

Nice work. I have made myself a round calender too, although the months are in a different order. I think I will adopt your days of the week. I have made local weekdays for the threshold culture I use as setting. They are based on the local gods and thus harmonize well with your idea. I will certainly use yours for the Realm. Thank you :-)

Canonically the year starts with the warmest month and ends with the coldest (or is it the other way around?). Thus the calender can be described as not being round. It is flat, so to speak. Our calender is cyclical.

In that case I urge you to come up with a more fitting analogy, as I don't follow it entirely myself :)

Last time I created a calender, I randomly decided to have 5 days a week, following the fine tradition of 5 being an important number and I used very similar days  of the week to yours.  Given that I've lost my calender in the great harddrive crash of 2005, I might just use yours, good stuff

Bringing this thread back to life; I think I have the calender messed up. As far as i've always thought, the year start with Earth and the goes Wood, Fire, Water and Air, then the Calibration. But that doesn't justify that there is no fall, as Skafte says. What is the official order of the calender?

See Exalted 2, pg. 26 or Exalted 1, pg 49. Seasons go Air, Water, Earth, Wood, Fire, Calibration.

Some discussion of possible mistakes in/justifications for this scheme here.

Are you certain of this?

I have just re-read the section (and then a time again after that; I'm still confused), and it lists the months as (Air, Water, Earth, Wood, Fire), as you say. However, the text further elaborates, and claims that Ascending Water is the coldest month. Since Calibration comes after Descending Fire, this indicates that Water is the first season of the year, not Air.

NB. I read through the wiki link provided, but I couldn't find satisfactory answers.

I don't follow how you reach this conclusion. Why does the coldest month have to be the first month in the year?

True. Heh. In my mind, I quickly concluded that Creation had no parallel to Earth whatsoever... I've been getting too much into this game.

My reasoning was, that the magical nature of Climate in Creation was, that the year started at its coldest. Then whatever power controls weather and temperature started heating everything up, until Calibration, which reset the whole process. Thus; only five days of fall in Calibration.

I know that this reasoning is of my own making and has no support in canon.
