Samantha's eyes grew wide. "O-Okay.... Lets go..."

Amara nodded. "As you can see, the bridge is quite thin, so one of us will have to be behind the other. Don't worry, I'll go first," she explained. Stepping onto the somewhat rickety bridge, Amara tried her hardest to shift her weight (Which made the bridge sway) as little as possible.

Samantha gulped as the bridge swayed. "Is it going to fall?"

 

[Darkrose Kitten]

Amara shook her head. "No, it won't. It's made of dark oak wood and obsidian. The only way you can fall is through the railings," she said. She started going forward, holding onto the railings with both hands.

"That makes me feel better..." I muttered as I followed her forward.

After a few minutes, Amara reached solid ground. She looked back at Samantha, and motioned for her to come to The Gate. The tall, ominous, squared archway had gargoyles and torches on both pillars. "When we walk through, as this is your first time, you might feel a slight tingle in your gut. It's only to see if you're a real demon," she said.

"Will it hurt...?" Samantha asked weakly, already feeling numb from heights.

Amara shook her head. She quickly thought of an analogy or a simile. "You know how you get an itchy feeling in your stomach when you're about to throw up? It's like that, only, maybe, ten times less bad."

Samantha blinked. "I sorta understand..."

Amara walked through The Gate. As she had gone through it countless times before, she had become accustomed to the funny feeling already. Waiting for Samantha, she kicked a few loose rocks towards the direction of the river.

Samantha walked through and let it rise in her stomach. I continued walking and caught up to Amara.

Looking at the river, Amara saw that the Charon was waiting for them. Smiling slightly, Amara led Samantha down the path to the boat. The old man looked at Samantha curiously, before turning to Amara. "Where to?" He croaked. Amara glanced over her shoulder, signaling with her eyes for Samantha to get on. "Just drop us off at Pandemonium," she replied. He let out a low whistle. She knew why; it was a very long trip to get there. Getting on, she explained the route to Samantha. "Charon will be taking us down the River Acheron, through Leviathan's Lake - don't worry, Levi's usually a nice sea monster - , down another part of the River Acheron, through the Lake of Fire, and finally up the River Styx where he'll drop us off at Pandemonium. From there, we'll go through the city to the Frozen Lake Cocytus where your father is at."
