Realistic or Modern DotC High

Winnie had been struggling to calm herself down, but at the sound of Korren's voice beckoning her forward, she swallowed, shakily walking over to the poor girl, listening to her words, watching as she got choked up. Winnie didn't want to believe it. Bucky was kind to her. He noticed little things and took care to compliment them. He helped her when nobody else would. He made her laugh and he made her feel normal. She liked being his friend, being Chloe's friend. She liked being popular. She liked fitting in. Winnie was not Korren. She convinced herself of this as she took the girl's hand. "Thank you for the warning. I'll keep it in mind." She smiled at the girl, before glancing towards the closed door, hearing the yelling, hearing the gasp of air that tended to happen when the wind was knocked out of someone. She bit her lip, looking back at Korren. "I'm sure he's a great guy," she said weakly, unsure of what to do about the situation. "He really looked like he loves you. I'm sorry I ruined the moment." She glanced around, before finally taking a seat in a plastic chair to give her shaking legs a rest. "I think I'm going to go home, though. I have a lot of homework and I swear I don't want to cause any problems." She offered Korren a small smile, trying to think of something to say that could make everything better, but in the end she couldn't come up with anything. "I'm sorry about what happened to you. I hope you get better soon, Korren." Winnie squeezed her hand one last time, taking a deep breath before getting to her feet. The yelling had stopped, so maybe she'd be able to say goodbye to Kilo. She couldn't go on that pizza date with him. Not knowing she had just caused a fight. Winnie stepped out of the infirmary, closing the door behind her and glancing up just in time to watch Sage tackle Kilo.

Sage hadn't been expecting the punch. He expected the lecture, of course, but the hit threw him off guard so much that he fell to his knees with an oomph, his arms wrapping around his stomach as he gasped for breath. Kilo had quite literally knocked the wind out of him, and he struggled to catch his breath as his friend yelled at him and more or less called him a hypocrite. The worlds were flowing in, and as Sage processed them he slowly pulled his breathing together, glaring at the ground as he pressed his palms against it, panting slightly. Sage scoffed weakly, unable to comprehend Kilo's own stupidity. There was a difference between Korren, who actively was trying to get out of Bucky's life when Sage found her, and Winnie, who was actively trying to push herself in- something yet again, Korren never actually did. Just as Kilo finished his little lecture, Sage finally had his energy back enough, and he pushed himself to his feet, launching himself at Kilo as he turned his back, tackling his friend to the ground. "You're just mad you pick the sluts to love," Sage hissed, grabbing a handful of Kilo's hair and slamming his head into the tile without even thinking. He was on autopilot at the moment. Kilo wasn't his friend but merely a human being in his way, who had gotten him in a spew of anger.

"Stop! Stop!" Winnie shrieked, rushing to stop Sage before he could hurt Kilo too bad. "Get off him!" She shoved at Sage, and in response he shoved her hard, and in her heels Winnie fell to the ground. He turned to her, raising an eyebrow. "Unfortunately for you, the rumors about me are true," he growled, and Winnie's eyes widened as she pushed herself back from the situation, feeling a great amount of terror in that moment. Tears welled in her eyes, unsure of what to do. She had captured his attention at least, but she hated the way he was looking at her, as if she was his next victim. She could have very well been. If he was willing to slam his own friend's head into the ground, she was sure there were a million and one things he could do to her. Bucky was right. It was the single most important thought that ran through her head As she felt her breathing speed up, her mind go dark, and watched as everything went black.

Kilo had fallen forward just as he was tackled, landing on his hands just before his face could meet the ground. Yet even in his attempt to keep himself from hitting the ground fully, his head was yanked up and slammed into the tile with a loud whack. Blood trickled down his forehead, while his vision was starting to black out, waning from clear to seeing stars in mear seconds. He groaned in pain, looking over only to see Winnie being knocked back. His eyes widened, seeing her falling to the ground from being shoved. As swiftly as he could, he rolled to his side and elbowed Sage to get him off. He got to his feet and rushed to Winnie's side, ending the fight from there. Since he couldn't stand fully, he fell to his knees beside her. She was passing out. This made him angry, to think that he was trying to help her and yet all his friends did was shove her away. For once in his life he was trying to be happy, trying to make a change, but they couldn't accept it. He carefully lifted her into his arms, holding her as he sat back against a wall. "I'm here, doll. I'm so sorry..." Kilo cradled her, wanting her to wake up to comfort. Meanwhile he looked up at Sage. He didn't say anything. He didn't need to. His look spoke more than words could: "How could you?" It screamed and died out as he turned his attention back to Winnie. She wasn't some random slut, and he knew this. The more they pushed her away though, the less of a chance he though of having with her. It was a selfish thought, and he knew this, but he just wanted to be happy. He wanted Winnie to be happy and feel protected, to feel like a goddess when so many people had purposefully harmed her in the past.

His vision was blurring, black dots appeared in his sight as a headache began to form. Over time his grip on her was slipping, and he set her down next to him, laying her head in his lap. He set his head against the wall and closed his eyes. What had he done? Now his friends hated this girl, probably hated him, and surely Winnie must have hated him to. This thought made him panic. He carefully leaned Winnie up against the wall and off of him, since she probably didn't want to be around him anymore.

Korren looked at her, trying her best to hold back most of her tears. She hoped that this girl genuinely would consider staying away from Bucky for her own sake, so she would not have what happened to Korren, to be dragged around parties and smacked around until she couldn't take it anymore.

From the sound of what was going on outside, none of it sounded good. At one point she swore she heard her name being thrown into the mix. This made her stomach drop, while her face went sheet white. What were they bringing her in it about? Was it about what Sage had said, that girls who dated Bucky were sluts? What Sage said had truly stung, and almost felt like a slap to the face. She wanted to curl up and cry, to be alone in her room and sob her eyes out. This feeling was so strong she had pulled out her phone, turning it on to text her parents. Surely they must have been home by then, so she sent them a message. Mom, Dad. Can you pick me up? They answered a few minutes later, though not with the answer she wanted. Sweety, You have tutoring, and were about to go to an important conference. We can contact Bucky though, ask him to bring you home. That sound good, sweety? She panicked, rushing to answer back before they could contact Bucky, before they could send any messages to him whatsoever. By now though they probably would have sent the message off, innocently asking for him to bring her home, most likely including worries they would have for Korren that they could speak about as a group. No no, I think I have a friend that can bring me home. You don't have to contact him. Once her message was sent, it took a few minutes of painful silence from them until they finally answered her back with an answer that she didn't want to see. Oops! Already sent he message. Hope you don't mind. Love you! Korren looked at her phone, not wanting to respond any further to them. They were just as naive as her, if not more so. She squeezed her eyes shut, only hoping that Bucky would ignore the text, that he would never receive it in the first place and stay far away from her.

Winsley had been holding on to Patch the whole time, only letting go to exit the room and see what was going on. She had left and turned around just in time to see Kilo sitting with Winnie, and Sage in the opposite direction. Instinctively she rushed to Sage's side, clambering to get him on his feet. She looked from Sage to Kilo, seeing the obvious tension between them. "C'mon Sage, I'll have Lift come pick us up." The suggestion had broken Kilo's heart. No matter what, his friends would be on Sage's side and be blind to the truth. "Korren isn't lookin' good." She said, wanting to distract him before they could continue the fight. There would definitely be arguments later that day involving Kilo, but for now they all needed time to settle down.

Sage groaned as he was elbowed, and slowly pushed himself up to lean against the lockers. Winnie had passed out, something he hadn't noticed until that moment. The look Kilo gave him sent a chill down his spine, and he bit his lip, feeling guilt pour into him. "I didn't mean to do that," he said quietly, his words carrying over the hallway and stirring in the silence. Of course, he didn't like this Winnie chick, but he didn't want to hurt her either. He had just gotten stuck in his anger, something he always tended to do. It was then he saw the blood on Kilo's forehead. I hurt my own friend. He didn't mean to do that either. He watched Kilo interact with Winnie, watched the concern in his eyes, watched the way he held her, then moved her aside, as if waking up against him would be more of a punishment. And for some reason that made Sage angrier, and it all came back to him in a whirlwind of fury. "Look Kilo, if you're gonna punch me over a girl, then you better fucking take care of her. Don't make this fight in vain or I'll fuck you up," he growled. He didn't like the situation one bit, but if Kilo just pushed the girl away so easily then he was even more of a douchebag than before. It was after these words Winsley came out, and Sage allowed her to help him up, glancing back at Kilo at the mention of getting a ride from Lift. "Babe, not your fight," he whispered. "I picked it, you don't have to be part of it." He shrugged, trying to come to an agreement. While he hated Kilo for what he had done and he hated Winnie twice as much for just existing, he didn't want the entire group shattered. If for nobody else, then for Rose. She needed them all together to stay strong.

He didn't bother continuing the conversation though, because he needed to go check on Korren. He walked back inside, his anger fading into worry as he moved over to her, crouching down and reach for her hand once more. "Hey love, you never told me where it hurts," he said, his voice gentle, caring, a complete contrast to his entire persona just moments ago. He didn't yet understand the way his words impacted Korren. He just wanted to take care of her so she could get better.

Winnie could just barely feel her body being shifted, just barely hear muffled sounds. It wasn't until Sage was gone though, that she finally began to flutter her eyes open, to wake up from the nightmare that was Sage Vixen. She turned her head weakly, noticing Kilo next to her and carefully crawling into his lap, resting her head on his chest as stray tears still fell despite the fact the moment was over. Her fingers curled in his shirt, and she swallowed hard, trying to relax her shaking body. "I'm sorry. You're bleeding, I'm so sorry. I should have never come. I don't want to get between you and your friends, I'm sorry," she whispered, and yet she only pushed herself closer into him, needing his comfort in order to calm down and praying he would give it to her.

Korren looked up when the commotion had blown over, still on edge about what Sage had said, and what her parents said. There was no way he could know about what they told her though, because now she knew he would do anything to protect her and his friends, which wasn't a good thing. It further unsettled her on how quickly he switched from pissed to concerned, as if nothing had happened. It reminded her of Bucky, and how quickly he would switch between moods. He would become so aggravated with her that he would relentlessly beat her, then continue to 'love' her and act as though nothing had happened. Tears had been welling in her eyes just by the thought. She didn't want to compare him to Bucky, and yet she couldn't help it in that moment. Her hand laid slack in his, unsure of what to say. She placed her hand on her stomach, motioning that was where it mostly hurt. It made her feel sick to move, and she didn't want to stay here any longer. A faint whimper left he mouth as she attempted to speak. Words failed her, and yet she was scared of them to. She squeezed his hand just barely, though her muscles ached. Her eyes shut, forcing out drops of tears from the corners, letting them spill down her face. "I-it hurts..." She weakly cried, wanting all the pain to go away, both physically and mentally. Korren was terrified of going home, and yet all she wanted was to lay in her bed and curl up. She wanted to be alone.

Kilo looked at Sage, trying his best to stay alert after being thrown into hard tile. It was a wonder to him as to how he was even still conscious right now, though his thoughts didn't linger on it. He listened to Sage, being surprised by how angry he was over the fact that he had set Winnie next to him, and nodded. Even if he was still pissed about what he had done to Winnie, he had to admit that Sage was right. Soon Winsley and Sage left to go into the infirmary, leaving Kilo and Winnie alone.

He looked over to see her stir, soon feeling her climb into his lap. For a moment he hadn't touched her, allowing her crawl and curl up into him for comfort. He soon placed both arms around her, pulling her closer. They both needed this, after all of the needless fighting. Of all people though, she was the one apologizing. He grazed his fingers over her hair, petting it down while she talked. "It's not your fault, shh." There was a short pause. His head hung over her shoulder, while his lips almost brushed against her shoulder. Before they could, he moved so his chin rested on her shoulder. "I should have known they would do this. They don't trust popular people, and I can't say I blame them." It was sad but true. Ever since Chloe screwed them over, none of them easily accepted popular kids as good people. "You're not like them, doll. You have a heart." It was an attempt to reassure her with what he hoped to be the truth. It had to be the truth, since he believed it to be true. He rubbed her back in a repetitive and soothing motion, not wanting her to be scared or sad anymore. "You're beautiful, inside and out." He spoke in a quiet voice, wanting her to know what he thought of her. No matter what she looked like she would always be amazing to him, no matter how hard he could try to think otherwise.

Sage felt his heart break at the pain she was in, and gently smoothed back her hair. "I could take you to an ER if you want, love. I'll do whatever you need," he promised, his words quiet as he held her hand. He hated to see her crying, and carefully brushed the tears away with his free hand. "I'm going to take care of you, Korren, I promise. It's going to be okay eventually." He couldn't say now because of course nothing was okay. Korren was hurt, the crew was fighting, rumors were spreading. Later on down the road it would all be better, but for now their world's were crumbling, and it was all Sage could do to hold on to Korren and pray she didn't crumble too. He moved his free hand over to the hem of her shirt, resting his hand on her side but not putting any pressure down so that he wouldn't cause any type of pain to her. "Is it okay if I take a look?" he asked gently, wanting to size up possible bruising so he could figure out what was wrong. He knew she had just seen him lash out for the first time so he was careful to be as sweet as possible, not wanting her to think of how he had just yelled. His thumb brushed over the back of her hand as he looked her over, waiting for an answer, not caring how long he had to kneel there to get one. He'd wait by her side forever if that's what it took.

Winnie relaxed into Kilo as he wrapped his arms around her, closing her eyes and letting out a deep breath as he explained how his friends weren't a big fan of popular kids, and Winnie supposed by being friends with Chloe and Bucky she was automatically grouped in with those types of people. She didn't want to be grouped with bad people, but as far as she was concerned, Sage was the bas person in this situation. She tilted her head up to look at Kilo as he told her she wasn't like them, that she was beautiful inside and out, and smiled slightly, though her smile fell as she looked at the blood on his forehead. Winnie looked down at her shirt, pulling her shirt sleeve over her fist and licking it once, before moving to clean off his forehead, knowing the blood would stain her black shirt. "I wore this outfit for you. Good thing I picked long sleeves," she said quietly, cleaning off the blood. "There," She tilted her head up to kiss Kilo's forehead, before moving back down to eye level with him, looking into those icy blue eyes. She lost her breath for a moment, unable to look away from him. She slowly moved forward, resting her forehead against his. She didn't know what came over. She didn't know what was happening. Winnie never initiated things like this. She liked to think from a traditional point of view, and yet as she rested her hands on his shoulders she couldn't help but move closer until her lips brushed against his, gently at first, but that soon shifted to a desperate kind of hunger for the love she'd been missing out on, and every possible voice of reason went out the window. There was nothing left for her to think about. She wanted this- she needed this, and she was finally going after what she needed.

Korren looked up at him, tears falling down her cheeks and stinging her skin. She shook her head at the suggestion of going to the ER. Even if she was hurting, it wasn't necessary to waist time there. For a moment she had a panicked look in her eye, but didn't keep it long enough to be noticeable. His hands stayed around her side as he asked to examine the injury. She gulped down her tears, slowly nodding. Her skin was cold compared to his hands, so the combination of temperatures was slightly soothing. Her arms rested, with one laying against the bed and the other resting on her side. Every inch of her was sore, so it hurt to move. Bruising covered mostly her stomach and splotches on her arms, which were covered by the sleeves of the sweater. The only way she knew where they were was by how the pain radiated from the certain areas.

Kilo smiled as she cleaned off the blood, raking his eyes over the mentioned outfit. Earlier he had been too busy with seeing her and having the early morning drama to notice what she was wearing. "Oh, did you now?" It was a cute outfit, and he swore that she looked good in anything. It complimented her skin, as well as her eyes. Man, did those eyes shine. He looked back to her eyes, smiling when she kissed his forehead. She was such a sweet girl. Someday the gang would come to realize her beauty as much as he did. "It suits you, doll. But you'd look good in anything. Don't need to try to impress me when your smile takes my breath away." He brushed his hand over her arm, smiling brightly. Only moments after, she was leaning heavily against him. His heart skipped a beat, while his mind was racing. There was no way that she was doing what he thought she was, and yet she did it. Most of his restraint had been thrown out the moment her lips met his. This took him by surprise, yet he loved it. Desperation for love over came him as he instinctively rested his hands on the small of her back. As they continued on though, he didn't press things any further. This didn't mean he didn't want to, but he knew better than that. He sat up through out, pressing body to body. He had so badly needed this without even realizing it, and yet now here he was, desperate to make sure to make the moment worth while.

Sage watched Korren intently, noticing something seem to flash in her eyes though he wasn't quite sure what. He looked back towards her shirt as he nodded, moving to sit on the edge of the bed as he carefully moved her shirt up. The bruising was dark, but he knew what broken rib bruising looked like, and it certainly wasn't this. He sighed in relief, before moving her shirt back down. "Good news is no broken ribs, bad news is you're not coming to school tomorrow because you need at least twenty-four hours of bed rest." He couldn't take seeing her cry and yet he wasn't completely sure why she was crying. Was it the pain? She wasn't crying when he walked in. Was it him? The thought of it being his fault made his throat dry up. "Korren," he began, his voice quiet as he struggled to figure out how he would say what he was trying to say. "I'm sorry if I scared you. I just don't want to see you hurt and... and people who are friends with him are normally not good people." It was then, as he looked down at her and said this, that a sudden realization hit him. Korren had once been his friend. Everything he said about Winnie had applied to Korren at one point. "Oh fuck. Korren, I... God damn it, I'm sorry," he muttered, unsure of how to fix anything anymore. "I'm sorry, I never believed those things about you. Never. I..." he groaned, holding his face in his hands. "I don't really know how to fix this now. Fuck, sometimes I just get mad and I start yelling and I don't even think before I spit out whatever idiocy is coming and... I'm sorry," he mumbled, unsure of what to say. "That wasn't okay. I shouldn't have done that." He bit his lip, closing his eyes for a moment, letting his hands run down his face., letting silence engulf the nurse's office for a long time. "Do you want me to take you home? Or maybe somebody else if you're not exactly in the mood to deal with me?" he asked weakly, unsure of what to do. He didn't think Korren could forgive him for what he said. Maybe she didn't even want him there with him anymore. Maybe what he said was enough to ensure a break up. It made him angry and depressed all at once, to think he had been such an idiot.

As Kilo kissed Winnie back with just as much passion, her fingers slid up into his hair, running through it as she lost herself in the kiss. It was everything she needed in that moment. She needed this feeling of being wanted, of being loved, this lack of space between them, she needed Kilo's desire to kiss her back, to feel like she was on Cloud nine and nothing could touch her. For once in her life, her anxiety wasn't in the back of her mind. In fact, there was no racing thoughts to keep her busy. She was completely blank, no longer thinking, only feeling Kilo against her. She only pulled away when her breathing failed her and she needed the air, though she kept her forehead pressed against his as she caught her breath, smiling like an idiot as she met his gaze. "I haven't kissed someone since I played spin the bottle in seventh grade and had a panic attack after it landed on a girl when I spun." She chuckled, her arms falling back to his shoulders, wrapping around his neck as she closed her eyes, nuzzling her nose against his. This felt right, and suddenly there was no decision to make. She wanted Kilo, not Bucky. She mentally made the decision final.

Korren watched him as he moved her shirt, sighing in relief. This made her feel slightly better, though still disappointed her that her perfect attendance was being thrown down the drain like everything else in her life. She looked up at him to see the flash of realization in his eyes. The rest of what he had said was filled with apologies and regret, but didn't feel right. She would have spoke against it, told him that it was okay and she could deal with it, but that would have been a complete lie. She slowly reached her arm up to brush her tears away, not wanting to cry anymore. The tears stung her skin, and she didn't want to see him so upset with himself. To his question she nodded, wanting to just go home and lie down. What he had done wasn't enough to push her away, but she did need time to settle down. She understood where he was coming from, since most of the popular crowd consisted of less cruel copies of Bucky, all privileged kids out for blood since their lives were oh so boring from being able to throw money whenever and wherever they pleased. She reached for his hand, wanting to at least hold on to him, to let him know she didn't hate him, to say that she wanted him there.

The other two girls had been sitting on a bed, leaning against each other. Both of them were exhausted, worried, and frustrated all in one. They would have to deal with Kilo later, though right now he had not come back in to the room. Winsley knew why, though. The poor girl that got dragged into their drama was passed out, and he was comforting her. In a way she was happy for him, that he found someone to love again, yet at the same time she had that protective side to her. What if he turned on them for this girl? He wouldn't do that though, right? This was Kilo they were talking about, the most determined one of them all to help others and keep his own life style in check. Kilo was like a brother to them, so there was no way he could or would ditch them now, especially when it came to Rose. She was wary of this new girl in his life, yet was not as protective over him as Patch or Sage were. He was almost 18, he could handle himself. He loved them all, so surely he wouldn't leave them.

Kilo pushed as much passion as he possibly could in, smiling in between as he breathed heavily. When she pulled away, he almost moved in to close the gap between them again, to keep it going, yet he stopped himself. He tried to control his breathing, slowing it down little by little as their breaths mingled together. Kilo was smiling from ear to ear, meeting eyes with her. He chuckled at her little story, glad that he could be the first person in years for her to share a kiss with. "Glad I could be of assistance." He joked, nuzzling his nose against hers. Now he was sure of loving this girl, wanting to be more than friends. After the kiss he wasn't sure though of what this made them, if it made them anything. Without much thought he kissed the tip of her nose, then gave a peck on her lips, loving every moment with her. Now he was bound to protect her, bound to make sure she stayed safe and kept away from all the bad people. Since they had kissed he had loosened up with her, keeping his arms wrapped around her sides. Of course though his eye sight had blurred, as the dizziness set in again. He didn't show the signs of injury, not wanting to worry her after all that had happened. Surely with water and some rest he would be fine.
"You still wanting to go to that pizza place with me?" He asked casually, waiting patiently for an answer. Even though he preferred one answer, he would accept her choice. "Or would you like to go home? Your choice." Kilo spoke with a smile, giving her all the options in the world to choose from, and he would go with it.

As Korren took his hand, Sage squeezed gently, taking a moment to compose himself before looking back over at her. "Can you walk or should I carry you?" he asked, feeling extremely nervous about this relationship since he had screwed up so early into it. Even if she did reach for his hand, he didn't feel like he deserved that small comfort. Maybe Korren was only trying to assure him long enough to get home, and then she'd break up with him. He wouldn't blame her after everything that had just happened. He wished he could take it back or find a way to make up for it. Maybe if she didn't break up with him he could try and make Friday even better, make it the equivalent to a date and an apology all at once. Although that required her to actually continue to be his girlfriend long enough for him to get to Friday. He let out a shaky breath, trying to ignore those thoughts. "I'll get us an uber really quick," he added, pulling his phone out of his pocket and texting a friend he knew who worked for uber to come pick him up. He still kept his hand in Korren's, though now his grip was quite a bit looser.

Winnie smiled as he kissed the tip of her nose and then her lips, feeling at home in his arms. She rested her head against his chest, feeling safer and happier than she had in a long time. She kept her arms around him, feeling a sleepy kind of content rest on her shoulders. Kilo made her feel like she could fall asleep right then and there and he'd keep her safe. She could have done it, too, had he not asked about the pizza place. "I think pizza sounds great," she said, sitting up a bit and kissing him once more.

"And then maybe afterwards you could stick around at my place for awhile, and we can do something together," she suggested, because the pizza definitely wasn't going to be enough. She was only just finding out how much she needed Kilo in her life, and while she knew a lot about him there was always more to find out. Winnie adjusted herself a bit, thinking about getting to her feet but then decided against it, kissing him quickly instead. "I don't wanna get up. I just wanna stay in your arms," she admitted, unable to wipe the grin off her face. This was one of her better days, and she'd cherish it forever.

Korren held on slackly to his hand, reaching her other hand out to him to emphasize that she wanted to be held. It hurt like hell to move her arms, so she slightly winced at the movement. "Carry, please." Her eyes looked up with a pleasing look in them, needing the comfort. The whole day had consisted of abuse and hatred, and even now when he lashed out she needed to be held, to reminded that she was loved. It hurt to move as well, meaning she would need to be held. Overall it was best that she didn't know of what happened outside, and she should not ever know. She nodded to what he said about the uber. "Okay," Korren whispered, closing her eyes. She was exhausted, in pain, and just needed comfort. Three simple remedies could be given, and yet they weren't as simple as they seemed.

Kilo looked down at her with a smile, overjoyed to hear her answer. He rubbed her back gently, only stopping when she kissed him to return the favor. His hand moved to hold her chin, smiling in between it all. At this point his cares disappeared, as did his worries. He would have to talk to Sage later, but for now they all needed time to settle down and have some time away from each other. "That sounds perfect." He looked down at her, being met with a quick kiss. What she said made him chuckle, and decide to pick her up. First he adjusted her in his arms, then stood up. He gave a short glance to the infirmary, wondering if he should say anything to them. It would be best to message them, though not talk to them so far. They had all been through too much. Kilo picked her up and carried her off to his car, being sure to be careful as he could to put her in the passenger seat.

Sage looked over Korren, feeling guilty as she winced. He stood, ever-so slowly slipping one arm under her legs and the other under her back before lifting her up. He did this with great caution, wanting to cause the least amount of pain possible, before leaning forward to kiss her forehead. "I got you, love. I won't let go," he whispered, starting for the door. He glanced back at Winsley, wordlessly saying goodbye to her, knowing she could take care of herself and Patch. He carried Korren out, moving at a more languid pace, not wanting to disturb her position too much for fear of hurting her. As Sage walked down the hall, he began to hum the a sweet tune, hoping his voice would soothe her to rest for now as he headed outside. The uber pulled up when it took notice of Sage, and he carefully placed Korren in the back seat before following after her, sitting next to her and wrapping his arm around her to hold her close. He gave the driver the address, and sensing that he needed to move fast, the driver sped a bit to get them to Korren's house. When they got there, Sage picked her up out of the car and moved to the door to take her inside, wanting to stay with her and lay next to her until he was sure she was asleep for the night.

Winnie giggled as Kilo picked her up, feeling absolute bliss take her over as he took her to his car. For now, all problems were forgotten, and all she could do was focus on Kilo. She would lean up and kiss his cheek occasionally as he carried her, before finally setting her in the passenger seat of his car. She took his hand before he could walk off to his side though. Her fingers intertwining with his as she looked down at the entanglement, her face melting into something of an average expression before she giggled suddenly and looked back up at Kilo. "Look at this, my hands are small and yours just hide them completely." She giggled again, grabbing his shirt collar and pulling him down for another kiss. "I don't know how I'm going to eat pizza when all I wanna do is kiss you," she said, definitely somewhere on cloud nine now that a tension she hadn't even known was there between Kilo and her had shattered and she had this ability to kiss him as she pleased and he could do the same with her. It excited her, to think they were together in some new way, though she wasn't quite sure as to what it was yet.

Korren laid slack in his arms, resting her head against his chest. Her eyes closed when he kissed her forehead, feeling relaxed in his arms. While she was carried, she nuzzled her head into his chest, not wanting to leave. She listened to his voice the full way, not opening his eyes until they were in the car. The car ride was full of silence, with her leaning against him the whole way. On the way to her door step, she told him the code before they could enter the house, which was empty yet again. Her parents had left minutes before they could intrude on her life or make it a living hell without even realizing it. At this point she was growing tired, though the nagging pain kept her awake. Her eyelids lowered half way, daring to shut and yet not following through with it. They entered an empty home yet again, filled with echoes of footsteps. It was a large home, and felt empty for only a three person family. They didn't even have a pet, since her mother hated dealing with animals.

Kilo was about to move to the driver's side before his hand was caught by hers, folding together to fit as one. He looked down at their hands, finding it cute how nimble her hands were compared to his. Everything about her was adorable, even down to her fingers and toes. He chuckled at her comment, being pulled into a kiss right afterwards. If it were up to him he would have climbed in right then and never stopped, though he didn't. His hormones were on fire when she continued to kiss him. She pulled away to speak, and he chuckled yet again. "Well, we can make room for both." With that he playfully winked, lingering by the passenger's side for a bit longer. He moved in for another kiss, savoring every moment he had with her as if it would be their last, even though it wouldn't be. There was no way it would be their last, especially since they had hit it off so quickly. Perhaps it was safe to assume that they were dating now, since why else would they be so passionately affectionate? Before he could really get into it, he pulled away, closing the door for her and dashing over to the driver's side, ready to take off. While he drove off, he held on to her hand the whole way.

Meanwhile, Patch and Winsley had gotten an uber to drive them to Winsley's house, deciding to get drunk and hang out on their own for a while. Things were still tense between them, though Winsley didn't say much about what had happened. They mainly listened to music and put in a movie at home, relaxing the best way they could.

Sage carried Korren up to her room, pulling the covers back before laying her down on the bed. He carefully moved to take her shoes off, each movement was slow so that way Korren knew what he was doing. When he was finished he put them in her closet, before heading into the bathroom to find medicine. He came across some pain pills. Good. She'd need them. Sage emptied one pain pill into his hand, before filling a cup with tap water and taking it to her. "You take this, love. It'll soothe the pain and probably knock you out pretty fast. I could stay the night, if you want. Get your homework done for you, do chores, whatever. Put me to work while you're sleeping," he said, pulling the blankets over her before crawling under them on the other side and carefully wrapping his arm around her waist, not putting pressure on the bruises. He kissed her shoulder once, relaxing against her. It was nice to be in a luxury bed for once. Of course he'd be getting out of it soon probably, but these moments with Korren were something he would take great care to hold onto.

As Kilo drove holding Winnie's hand, she got an idea in her hand and smirked to herself, before leaning over to kiss his cheek, and then boldly trail kisses down his sharp jaw line. "This pizza better be worth taking a break from kissing you," she said in his hair, before giggling. This was insane, in her eyes, to fall so hard, so fast, but then she supposed their was no real other way to like someone. They were either seen as a friend or a crush, and while a crush could fade, could a friend become more? Not for Winnie, at least she didn't think so. Of course, she'd never had friends close enough to have that problem, and she didn't have to wait and see with Kilo. Like a lighter being flicked on, their affection was ignited, and as they got to the pizza place and parked she couldn't help but practically climb over to Kilo to kiss him fully. She was still trying to wrap her head around this new reality. She'd never been in a relationship before, and perhaps that was why she was so desperate to share these kisses and to hold him so close. It was a new, exciting experience for her, and she wanted to use it to her full advantage.

Korren was laid down in her bed, watching as he took off her shoes, head to the bathroom, and bringing back a pill and tap water. She took the pill and water, popping it in her mouth and washing it down as quick as she could. It took time but the medicine was starting to take effect, winding her down for the day. It took her a minute to process what he was saying, and just as long to answer. "Just lay with me... Please don't leave..." Her words trailed off, quieting down until the only noise that sounded in the room was her faint breathing. For now she would be stuck in a dream state, unable to wake up from any peril that would haunt her dreams. Distorted memories of Bucky played in her head, as well as ones with Sage yelling. This disturbed her, and yet she didn't move in her sleep. On the outside she seemed peaceful, laying still under the blankets with Sage nearby. Over time she put up with the dreams, which slowly moved on to light hearted and vivid scenery and plot lines.

It was a wonder how they got to the pizza place safely, since Winnie's kissing had knocked off his concentration from the road. Luckily it was a short drive, but still a dangerous one at that. He chuckled at what she said, turning to glance at her for a moment before keeping his eyes on the road again. When they reached and parked at the pizza place, it was hard for him to resist her eagerness. Instead of fighting it, he moved the drivers seat back significantly so there was enough room for their shenanigans. While they were kissing he pulled her on to his lap, continuing what they had started. Luckily his windows were tinted, so there was at least some privacy for them. He had pressed as much passion as he had before with a tilt in his head, as if there was a need to show her how much he had loved her. His hands moved from gently holding her cheeks, down to her waist, where his hands clothed over her sides. Even through all the passion, he didn't hold her against him, but rather had a gentle yet firm grip. If she wanted she could easily move away from him, since it was only to make sure she didn't slip. Through it all he took deep and calculated breaths, making sure he kept enough oxygen to keep going.

Sage nodded at her request. "I promise never to leave your side," he whispered, nuzzling his nose against the crook in her neck as she drifted off. As she fell asleep Sage merely cuddled closer to her, yawning as he watched her rest. She looked to peaceful, so beautiful. He couldn't forget this beautiful image in front of him. He leaned down to kiss her cheek, breathing in her scent that reminded him of childhood, of a time before everything went wrong. "I love you, Korren, with all my heart and soul," he said, his voice quiet. He knew she was sleeping and that she couldn't truly hear him, so it was okay to say now, to practice for Friday. He finally laid back down, cuddling up against her before drifting off, intent on protecting his girl through her rest.

As they kissed, Winnie found herself growing more and more desperate, shoving herself flat against him, her hands sliding up his shoulders and into his hair for something to grip. She tilted her head slightly like Kilo had, trying to deepen the kiss even further, to throw herself into it. This was fun, this was exciting, this was something she'd never done before but certainly was already growing addicted to. She never wanted to pull away and yet she was a bit intimidated by the idea of what could happen if she didn't. So after much of a mental argument with herself, Winnie slowed the kiss back down to something sweet and sensual before pulling away all together and resting her head on Kilo's chest as she caught her breath, words beginning to spill out before she could stop herself.. "I love y- this. This moment. It's nice," she corrected herself quickly, not wanting to scare him with such strong feelings. Winnie had never had something like this before, and so finally getting it set forth all kinds of adrenaline she'd never known to exist and in a sense, accelerated her feelings of love for him. She curled her hand into a fist, knotting his shirt in it as she listened to his heart beat, the sound soothing her as she laid against him, effectively seizing any possible panic from the obvious intentions to the words she had just said. She closed her eyes, curling up against him for now, relaxing before she'd have to go out into the public of a pizza place and act like a decent human being.

The little session had ended with it slowing down, just as he was getting so enthralled with the idea of her and almost losing control of himself, which was hard to do for him unless someone like Winnie came into his life. Slowing down helped him to calm down after being so desperately intimate with her. It ended with one last kiss before she had pulled away entirely. His heart was racing, as was his breathing. He slowed his breath down over time, leaving it only to rise and fall periodically. Winnie had spoken up, catching herself on something that was entirely obvious on what she meant to say. It warmed his heart, yet at the same time it might have been the heat of the moment that cursed her to say those wonderful words. He was no different though, blessed to be able to say those very words to be used romantically. "And I love you, doll." His voice was low and calm, not regretting a bit of what he said. It was the truth after all, and not just some heat of the moment action. He sweetly placed his lips on her forehead, kissing in the same spot twice. Every action was made steady enough for her to understand what he was doing. After a few minutes of laying there in peace, he decided they would have to exit sometime. Instead of moving her off of him, he would carry her wherever they went. He pushed open the drivers door, carrying her out in his arms to the building. Before leaving the car, he pushed the door shut with his foot and locked the car, carrying her with his arms looped under her thighs. He guided her arms around his neck so she could hold on, making sure that she would not fall. People looked at him as if he were rather strange, but that didn't matter. He walked into the shop and took a seat, settling her across from him.

The whole date was a blur; consisting of laughter, kissing, and genuine talks about their lives and personal views. There may have been awkward run-ins, but neither of them were perfect. She had lost her parents, and he lost his father, or rather his father abandoned them. They worked things out one way or another, and cherished each other the whole way through.

Meanwhile Korren rested with Sage, sleeping through the day knowing she would have to be bedridden, unable to move or do anything without help. The one hope was that her parents would leave her be and continue to be clueless about meeting, although they needed to know that Bucky wasn't a part of her life, or at least she refused to allow him. It was bad enough though that they continued to keep contact with the boy, and worse that they would easily let him in without knowing of what he had been doing to her mentally and physically.

When Kilo said those simple three words, Winnie felt a weight fall off her back, and her anxiety drift off. It was so amazing to be loved by someone that wasn't obligated to feel such a way. It made her happy beyond belief, in a state of euphoria that she wouldn't be recovering from anytime soon- and she didn't want to. As Kilo picked her up, she couldn't help but feel perfect, like she had finally found a piece of her that she'd been missing. She had held on tight, eager to take part in the ride of this relationship with Kilo.

As their pizza date went on she couldn't help but forget the world around her. Homework and parties and friends all became nonexistent. All the was there was Kilo and pizza, and his laugh and his smile and their sweet kisses and simply jokes. Everything was easy, even the small awkward lapses fell away like dust sliding off a counter, drifting to the ground where it would be forgotten all over again and then their noise and the noise around them made it all become a memory that soon vanished into thin air.

As their pizza date wore down, Winnie finished off the crust of her final slice, before reaching over the counter to taking Kilo's hand in his. "I gotta be honest. I haven't been this happy since before my parents died. This might be the happiest I've ever been, actually," she admitted. It wasn't long after that they left to go to Winnie's house, and the drive was filled with her cute giggle as she held Kilo's hand, excited to have someone's hand to hold. When they got to her house she slid out of the car quickly, leading him inside.

Sage woke up a couple hours later, noticing Korren was still asleep and carefully untangling himself from her. He pulled her backpack up next to him, and went through all her classes, working on her homework for her, wanting to get it done so she wouldn't stress. It took about an hour, but once it was all done and he was trapped in boredom, he finally got to his feet, deciding to take a look around her room. He wasn't trying to be creepy. At first he looked out her window, sizing up the view, before tracing her fingers across the walls as he looked around at pictures, smiling slightly at some of the family ones. He hadn't taken a family picture since Rose was diagnosed.

As he made it to her dresser, he glanced over all the little knickknacks on it, before noticing a number on her mirror. At first he just saw the numbers, but soon Sage realized what it truly was- a suicide hotline. He blinked, a bit shocked by this, and turned back to Korren. Had Bucky driven her to attempt suicide? No, not my sweet Korren. His heart broke seeing as he was unable to know if this was a true or false thought, but the next note he say only made it worse. Razors in parent's bathroom. Why were there none in Korren's room? She had said Bucky had been responsible for the cuts, but for all of them? He bit his lip, his heart beating rapidly in fear for his love as he trudged over to her bed, not wanting to see anymore- but still he didn't have to see. He already had. In her bathroom cabinet there were no pill bottles besides the pain pills, and even then there weren't more than four. That wasn't enough to OD on. Had she tried to before? Was the entire house suicide proofed for Korren? He wasn't sure. Sage slowly crawled back into the bed, wrapping his arms around Korren, pulling her a little closer, a small shake to his body that would only last a minute or so. What if he ever triggered her to do something? What if he lost her? He couldn't take the thought. He pulled her even closer, flesh against him, praying he'd never lose her. He kissed her forehead as she slept, smoothing back her hair gently. It didn't feel right anymore, though. It felt like it wasn't enough. He needed to do better, to be better, so maybe next time he came to her house that damned number would be thrown away and he wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

The date seemed to be lost in time, filled with laughter and chatter that filled the voids in Kilo's life. The idea that he had made her feel genuinely happy, even after such a tragedy as loosing both of her parents.

After a while they decided to head to her home, with the noise of her sweet giggling in the car. Her laughter was contagious, causing him to laugh alongside her. Finally he was enjoying himself with someone new. He loved his friends to death, but he needed this sudden change of scene. It was healthy and just get out, get to know someone he's never known before. Through the car ride they held hands, while he glanced every now and then over to look at her, to revel briefly on such a beautiful creature that he was with. No matter how many times he looked at her, she would take his breath away each time. He finally parked the car on the road next to the driveway, turning off the car before being rushed inside to the house he visited just the other day. Kilo ran along side her, feeling more like a teenager now than ever. They were going to have fun and kick back to relax. When they got inside, he looked around at the house that seemed like only a memory. "Gee, I wonder if I've been here before," He joked with slight monotone in his voice, winking at Winnie all the while. Without much warning he picked her up and placed him over his shoulder, keeping a secure grip on her legs so she wouldn't fall. With that he walked over to the couch, taking his sweet time. In fact, he walked slower than normal just to mess with her. At the couch he moved her off from over his shoulder, lightly tossing her on to the cushions so she wouldn't get hurt. With whatever space was left in the couch he sat down next to her, smiling all the while. He wanted to be fun, to be playful in his own sense. Kilo would be caring and playful around her, because she needed to see this part of him, the part that he rarely let loose around anyone but a small portion of his female friends, and now to Winnie.

Korren had stirred from her sleep after a while, keeping her eyes closed as she began to wake. Three senses were heavily depended on as she laid there. Touch; she could feel Sage against her, feel the warmth of his body against hers, especially underneath the blankets. Scent; the sterile smell of the air hit her, before the faint scent described as what you would smell after it rained mixed in with various other scents. It wasn't over bearing, but rather soothing and comforting. Lastly, to hear; she could hear the faint breathing and heart beat that thumped in his chest, listening to each and every thump. She didn't open her eyes just yet, wanting to zone in to those three senses. Her breathing pattern had barely changed, taking deep breaths and relaxing in his arms. It was good to have that silence, to keep away all the bad in the world by being still in his arms. She nuzzled her head against his chest, moving to adjust herself into a more comfortable position. Once she was in said position, she let out a deep breath, clearly displaying at that point that she was awake. She stayed curled up against him, never wanting to leave such a safe haven ever again.

Winnie squealed as Kilo picked her up, laughing as she was carried throughout her own home before being tossed onto the couch. As Kilo sat in the remaining space, Winnie crawled onto his lap, straddling him as she leaned down to kiss him roughly, before pulling away with excitement in her eyes. "I have an idea!" she said brightly, like a child announcing something would. "Let's play a video game." Her arms snaked around her neck as she looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. "If you win we get to make out some more, but if I win you have to stay for dinner- and cook it," she said. "I'll even let you pick the game." Winnie kissed his cheek before walking over to the entertainment system. A hundred inch flat screen sat in the middle of luxurious shelving. Winnie slid to panels away to reveal hundreds of video games. "This is Bronze's collection. Pick whatever you want, Doll, and we'll see who wins." She laughed, having poked fun at the cute nickname he used for her. She truly loved it, and hoped he would never stop using it as she leaned against the wall, waiting for him to pick any game. From fighters, to shooters, to RPG's, the options were limitless. Games that weren't even supposed to hit the market till next year were on these shelves, and some of Winnie's halfway created games were there as well, though she doubted Kilo knew how obsessed she was with them yet. He probably knew she liked RPG's, the ones with the good stories, but for him to know she was a boss at Shooters? Impossible.

Sage smiled weakly as Korren stirred. As she adjusted herself and let out a sigh, he kissed her cheek and moved to be pressed against her though he didn't want to put too much pressure on her for fear of hurting her wounds. His arm rested around her waist and he kissed her cheek again, before resting his head back on the pillow. "Korren, love, I know I'm not perfect," he began, trying to form the words he needed to say. "Far from it, actually. I have problems- a whole stack of them. I have a record, and I'll probably never make anything above ten dollars an hour, but I do care about you- more than anyone in this world, and while I may not always seem like I'm in a good mood, I'd really appreciate it if you talked to me if you were having problems- of any kind." He tried to keep his words generalized for now, not wanting to focus on any of the issues, though his eyes might have given him away, seeing as he did glance back towards the suicide hotline just once, out of instinct, as he talked, trying to reassure her that he would always be there for her so she would never resort to something like that.

Kilo chuckled as she crawled over to him, kissing her back with just as much passion, only to be pulled away from it just as quickly as it started. He let out a short breath, listening to what she had to say. His hands moved to her waist, hugging her skin with utmost care. At the options, he rose an eyebrow, though was overjoyed to go with either option. Without even starting he had a good guess that he wouldn't win at her own game, so to speak. Video games were her forte, while he usually didn't even pick up a controller, much less become engrossed in the world of digital fantasies and violence. He got up from the couch, leaning over by her side to look at the video games. There were so many options, he didn't know what to choose. He chuckled at her little comment filled with mockery of the little pet name he had given her, smiling all the while. Games that were unrecognizable to him stood out the most, seeming like they weren't suppose to be real games, and yet there they were. He pulled one of the half finished games out, eyeing her to see what she thought of it. Perhaps it was one of those RPG games that she talked about, or any other genre she took the time listing out. "This one looks good. What's it about?"

Korren fluttered her eyes open after he kissed her cheek, feeling him further press against her. It always made her heart flutter when he stayed so close without truly moving in with any more intentions than just to comfort her. Her stomach bruises acted up, though she ignored the pain the best she could. There was no way she wanted the moment to be ruined by her pain. By the second cheek kiss, she softly smiled at him, keeping eye contact at all costs. Not a single bone in her body felt like moving, since the medicine made her sluggish and unwilling to get up, which was for the better. When he was starting to speak, the words he chose were rather odd. Of course he wasn't perfect, but neither was she in the slightest. They made mistakes and messed up in life and she knew this, so why was he bringing it up now?
By mentioning his mood she thought immediately to what happened earlier, thinking that he was discussing that now. This thought only lasted a few seconds though, since his eyes shifted to look at something while he talked, but what was he looking at? She turned her head to look in the direction he had glanced at, noticing that the general direction was her mirror.

It took her a moment to remember the notes that her parents had left for her, and her expression suddenly turned from neutral to tired and rather depressing. She knew what he had meant by all of his careful wording now. He must of thought she was suicidal, but how could he not? Bucky had made the lie become so real that he cut her, proceeded to pretend being the hero, and repeating the process. At one point she genuinely did grow to be suicidal, but never acted upon it. There was a knot in her throat that she had to gulp down in order to speak. "Sage.. I'm sorry you had to see that. I promise you, that was all part of his game." She spoke in a whisper, trying her best to explain her self through her cracked up voice. There was no way she could tell him that she had at one point been suicidal, that she had considered doing all the things that her parents locked her down from doing in order to end the torture with Bucky. Whatever drove her to live was beyond her, though even if she tried it would have never succeeded. There was no point to it. "I promise you, I didn't do any of these." For further emphasis she flipped her wrist over, displaying the markings that would scar her for life. She would have been too scared to hurt herself, too in pain from what Bucky was doing to her mentally and physically to even try. It was better that she never started such a life threatening addiction, otherwise her state would have been much worse. She wanted him to believe her, especially when no one else seemed to ever believe in anything she said. Not even her parents believed her. Her eyes had a pleading look to them, begging to be believed in with glossy blue eyes. "I didn't do it. I didn't. I- I.. didn't..." Korren's voice by that time was cracking under pressure. Nothing was more painful than being reminded of him. Of what he had done to her, and not what she had done to herself. Her world was beginning to crash down on her, with her finally being able to admit the truth to someone who cared to listen. What she needed was for him to believe her, but it wouldn't be much of a surprise to her if he didn't. Although it would crush her to know that even Sage couldn't believe in what she said to be true.

Winnie took a moment to notice Kilo had pulled out one her games, and she smiled softly, carefully taking it from his hands. "This is Mortal. It's about the main character who was in a car accident and loses their leg. At the beginning of the game you have three choices, the nature route, the normal route, or the cyborg route. The nature route graphs the DNA of a starfish with the main character so they can essentially grow their limb back, the normal route replaces it with another humans, and the cyborg route gives them a high-tech replacement. There are three different main stories and seventy-five side stories- twenty five for each. The over-arching plot is that whatever leg you choose, it begins to attempt to overtake you and you have to travel halfway across the world for a cure that's not even supposed to exist. Depending on the leg depends on where in the world you have to go, and the challenges you'll face. Of course, the main character, with this strange DNA, has quite a people out to kill them or use them for their own benefit, and there's a possibility in each to get kidnapped at two different points if you're not careful." Winnie continued to ramble on and on about the game, beginning to go in depth with some of the interesting side stories as she spoke. It was obvious she had a personal connection to it- and of course she did. She created it after all, and while it was only a beta version and the nature route was even finished yet, she was excited to get to talk about her creation with somebody besides Bronze or Dalton or her team.

It took quite a bit to realize she'd been talking for too long and she blushed, turning away. "There's a multiplayer mode but it's to work together. We're thinking about adding a bonus mode where you can play as one of the five bad guys after you beat all three routes of the game," she added sheepishly, revealing the fact that she had definitely been the one to create it. "I've been playing it alot, testing difficulties, looking for bugs and things of that nature. Not a good betting game," she added with a small laugh, before setting her own game down on the coffee table. "The title's a work in progress by the way. If you have any ideas you should let me know." She turned back to the cabinet, pulling out three games. "Here's a shooter I haven't played in years, a race car one that I've actually never played, and this is kinda like mortal kombat but more entertaining," she explained. "Go ahead and pick one so I can mop the floor with your ass already," she joked, leaning up to kiss his chin.

Sage laid there quietly, listening to the words she said and feeling horrible for ever bringing it up. As her words began to give up he hushed her, pulling her a bit closer and kissing her forehead tenderly. "I believe you, love. With all my heart, I believe you." He could see the uncertainty in her eyes and he just wanted her to know that he wasn't casting aside her words as fiction. "But let me tell you everything I just said still stands. Whether you're... suicidal, or not, you still get sad sometimes and you can talk to me about that, okay?" He tilted his head slightly, so he could look into her beautiful ocean blue eyes. He carefully took her hand, kissing the scars on her wrist again. "But I believe you, one hundred percent, forever and always," he added, really wanting to emphasize that before he gingerly pressed his lips against hers. "Do you wanna hear some good news, maybe?" he asked tauntingly. "I, being the most amazing, sexy, brilliant boyfriend ever, finished your homework for you, and so you, my queen, are all caught up. And I know you're attendance record is hurting but I will sign a note to make sure all recent absences will be excused and I will go pick up tomorrow's homework for you in the morning and then come back and make you the best damn breakfast you've ever had, doesn't it all sound just grand and deserving of many kisses?" he asked jokingly, nuzzling his nose against hers with a wide grin. He was trying to edge her way from those tears that threatened to shed, trying to cheer her up so that way she could rest easy, trying to make her smile because that smile lit up his entire world.

Kilo looked at door, intently listening to every word from her. It was interesting to him how much she knew about the games and how involved she was. The information she shared seemed like she had rarely talked about it, so he was determined to listen. With a stoic expression and a certain focus set to his eyes and brows, he processed what she was saying into visual depictions of the game in his mind, helping to almost create the world. He visualized the character as it went through these different terrains that she described, and each side quest and plot line. Every now and then he nodded, as if to subconsciously let her know that he was engaged in the conversation. It made him smile when she blushed, admitting in a way to creating in the game. "Woah, wait. You made this?" Kilo's expression changed in to a sort of excitement, smiling all the while. Truly he was proud of her for her talents, and happy that he found such a talented and beautiful girl. He chuckled at the next thing she said, noticing her clear excitement to play. "Alright, doll. Let's see what you got." Kilo winked at her, taking the mortal kombat themed game, opening it up and sliding in the disk. He played mortal kombat at least once or twice, so he had a general idea of how to play, but never truly learned how to play well. He turned back around to Winnie, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Maybe sometime you should let me play your game. I'd love to test it out." At this point he had already searched for the controllers, pulling out two for the both of them. Then, he moved to sit down on the couch, leaning into the cushions. He pat the cushion next to him, signaling for her to come sit by him. Did he think he would win? Absolutely not, he knew for a fact that he was going to get swamped. Of course that didn't deter him from trying, since he was always up for a good challenge.

Korren laid her head against his chest, taking deep breaths as he comforted her. It was a relief to know he believed her, rather than blow her off as a liar like everyone else did. She nodded her head to what he said, confirming that she understood his offer. It would take time to gain confidence in speaking, but she would do it eventually. The time she looked back up at him was when he kissed her wrist, then proceeded to kiss her lips. Just those motions made her weakly smile, gaining back control of her emotions again. He truly was an amazing person in her eyes, caring and attentive. There was no wondering why she was in love with him, even after witnessing his anger being lashed out. She was met once more by his lips against hers, before he proceeded to let her know what he had done for her. Korren smiled and giggled, appreciating every bit of it. "Thank you very much, Sage." She leaned up, tilting her head to kiss him. Instead of making it quick, she lingered there for longer, though didn't press into it any further. After a minute of kissing she pulled away, tapping her head once against his chest. One arm moved around his waist as she laid on her side, while the other arm rested underneath her head. She looked him in the eye, smiling all the while. "I still need to teach you French, don't I?" Korren chuckled to herself, sticking out her tongue to be silly. As time went on she was winding down again, though she would talk until the pain medication got to her. "Repeat after me," She looked him in the eye, deciding to teach him what she thought of him. Her words were slowly spoken and carefully placed. "Bonjour. Je m'appelle Sage. Je suis un homme attirant, et
je suis trop gentil avec ma copine. Je lui adore beaucoup... et elle m'adore beaucoup parce que je suis le seul que l'aime et la protége." Once she was done spelling it out, she smiled brightly, chuckling all the while. It was her little secret to tell him out in the open, knowing he didn't know what she was saying. She cuddled closer to him, feeling the effects of the drug washing over her again, pulling her back into sleep. Her eyes slowly closed, shutting as she drifted off without truly being able to explain or translate roughly what she had said.

Translation: (Hello. My name is Sage. I am a sexy man, and I am too nice to my girlfriend. I love her very much... and she loves me very much because I am the only one that loves and protects her.)

Winnie put the disc in the player before walking back over to the couch, curling up into his side as she took the controller, kissing his cheek. "After a couple warm up rounds we should make it more intense. We could play strip rules where you have to take off an item of clothing after each loss." Winnie clicked through the title screen before heading into character selection, skimming through the characters before finally settling on one she remembered playing as a few years back. She knew a couple special power moves so it would be a relatively easy win so long as Kilo didn't do any more than smash buttons on his controller and pray. Of course, Winnie would familiarize herself with the controls soon enough, and then she'd dominate. "Pick your poison, babe," she cooed, leaning in to kiss him quickly before sitting up at attention, knowing how invested she got in video games. She knew if she was too close to Kilo then she'd surely elbow him in the gut- or even the face just depending on how into it she got. The wheels were already spinning as strategies bounced through her mind. She could open with a special attack, or maybe give Kilo a chance to warm up to it first, maybe even tell him some of the controls. She glanced over at him and smiled to herself, just happy to have next to her. "You can take it home and play it if you want, by the way," she added, glancing up at her game sitting on the counter. "The cyborg run is my favorite. Play without the NPC tagalong. It's more challenging but way more fun that way," she explained easily, excited for him to play it and excited to play this game with him now.

"Bonjour," Sage began as Korren chuckled at whatever she had said in her french. Je m'appelle, Sage..." his voice trailed off as she cuddled up against him, drifting off once more. Sage grinned as she did so, kissing the top of her head and wrapping his arms around her, humming gently in hopes it would keep her stuck in a peaceful dream. Time seemed to fly as Sage watched his love sleep so peacefully, and he was happy to have her in his arms, though a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. At first he was going to leave it, but then the knocking became insistent, and soon the doorbell had rung as well. Sage didn't want these obnoxious sounds to wake Korren and so he carefully untangled himself from her before quietly heading down the stairs. He opened the door as the dreadful knocking began again, and as a result almost got knocked in the face by none other than Bucky Cypress. The most popular guy in school standing directly in front of the other most popular guy in school, though for two totally different reasons. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Coincidentally, it was said at the same time, which startled both of them and led to scowls and glares. "Get off Korren's property," Sage snarled, intent on defending his love. "Parents sent me to pick her up. When she wasn't at tutoring I got worried and came to-"

"Bullshit. You don't care about Korren. You're already on a new slut," Sage snarled, and Bucky rose his eyebrows in amusement. "Oh, do you mean dear Winnie? She's so adorably stupid, I can't wait to spike her drink and charge guys to check her out tomorrow at the party. I thought about doing that with Korren too but I'm just so possessive of things I love," he spoke, almost happily, as if this was a casual conversation. Sage sneered in disgust. "You don't know what love is." He went to slam the door, but Bucky's foot and palms stopped it with ease as he slid inside. "Well of course I do. I love Korren. You'd play with new toys too, though, if they came around. You're just like me Sage, you just take your aggressions out on people you hate- I take them out on people I love." He shrugged as if it were simple. "Don't you dare compare us, I'm nothing like you," Sage growled, grabbing Bucky's arm to drag him back outside before Korren woke up. "Oh but you are. You're cute little temper is positively lethal, isn't it?" Bucky took off his sunglasses, showing off his black eye as if to prove a point. It had mostly faded, but he still squinted a bit in that eye, though this didn't seem to bother him at all. "I"ll leave my lover in your hands for now I suppose, since you're just as territorial as I am, no need to get handsy." He pulled out of Sage's grip and headed for the door, pausing once he was out on the porch. "Oh and Sage, I'm sure you've seen the hotline. Keep it up. I'm sure she'll need it after the first time she makes you mad." He chuckled darkly, before heading down the porch steps, and Sage slammed the door and locked it, huffing loudly as his anger sputtered out of him with Bucky's leave. He headed back for the stairs, though he paused halfway up. He wasn't like Bucky, was he? The more Sage thought about it, the more similarities he saw, although perhaps it was just his doubts that made him think such things. Either way, these thoughts stuck with him as he went upstairs, though he couldn't quite bring himself to lay next to Korren. Instead he sat in her desk chair, trying to decipher the main differences, trying to make himself seem like a better person than he really was, and he was so caught up in his thoughts he forgot what Bucky said about Winnie.

Kilo smiled as she curled up next to him, chuckling at the little suggestion. Now he was determined to win, not that it was to completely see her naked(even though in the back of his mind that's exactly what he was thinking), but he rather was unsure if it truly was a good idea. Hopefully if they did it, none of her family members would arrive home any time soon. In the end though, he wasn't completely against the idea. He watched the screen, leaning forward to focus. His elbows pressed against his knees, while he held the controller in hand. There were multiple characters and statistics up on the screen. In the end he grinned at Winnie, before picking the most defensive character. He was sure he wouldn't be able to attack her character as easily, but if he could block and keep solid health up, he'd be okay. Momentarily his focus was broken at the mention of the game and taking it home. He gave her a half smile to be courteous, though he knew better than to accept the offer. At home he didn't possess the luxuries that she had, but he managed to get by. The most luxury thing he had was his phone, which he is rather careful with. He couldn't tell her this, since it surely would worry her. "How 'bout I play it with you here? That way you can teach me more about the game." Kilo winked at her leaning over to kiss her cheek. "Ready, doll." He cooed, scooting up to be right beside her. It didn't matter if he got hit in the middle of everything, he could take a hit, and would willingly do so if it meant being with Winnie. His attention was turned to the game again, returning to the focus he had before. A smile lingered on his lips, happy to be spending time with her and enjoying every minute of it.

Korren woke after a while of peaceful rest, not opening her eyes just yet. Her eyes stayed closed, though she did shift in the bed. At first she didn't think much, only thinking of resting and staying in bed afternoon being injured. After a minute though she remembered Sage. Not that she forgot he existed, but her mind didn't automatically switch to him being there. In response to remembering she moved her arm to where Sage should have been. When she meant to put her arm around the missing Sage, her hand lightly slapped the bed. She groaned, beginning to be more aware of her surroundings. Korren began to have a panicked feeling in her gut. What if he left her? What if he was gone and went back home? Had he walked out because of his discovery of the notes? He didn't believe her, did he?
All these questions raced through her mind while her stomach dropped. She opened her eyes, pushing herself up on to her elbows, looking from left to right. It was when she turned to lay on her back that she finally saw him sitting by her desk. The way he sat there worried her. Was he thinking about Rose?
She sat fully up in the bed, trying her best to ignore the pain. "Sage?" There was a hint of worry in her voice, while her brows arched in curiosity. Maybe it was all her fault, that she worried him over things of the past. It made her feel bad, and feel as though everything she did was horrible. Maybe he didn't want to be near her because of that? She swung her legs over the edge of the bed, moving to get up. Just moving around caused her to wince at the pain, but she wanted to be next to Sage to comfort him for whatever he was thinking about.

Winnie smiled and nodded at the mention of playing her own game here. "Sounds great," she said brightly, happy to oblige. She loved her own game. It was like a child she was nurturing to full health and it always made her proud to be able to play it, although just the idea of Kilo playing it in front of her made her a little nervous. What if he didn't like it? What if it was boring for him? She tried to put those thoughts aside for now, though they still crept back into her mind as she clicked play. The game started and since Kilo had picked a defensive character, Winnie went with two jabs and special power move, knowing he couldn't block it all. What ensued next would seem like her simply control smashing, but was more of her tactfully combining punches and kicks in between special moves in order to deliver defeat in a timely fashion. It didn't take long for her to get into it, and soon she was leaning forward, moving her arms, twisting slightly. her elbow knocked into Kilo's side a few times, though it wasn't too hard, and every time she did it she'd turn and quickly kiss his cheek as an apology, though she never stopped slamming her fingers against the buttons.

Sage glanced up at Korren as she said his name, noticing her struggling to get up. "Hey, love, stop that," he said, worried for her as he got to his feet and rushed to her side, gently holding her where she sat. "You need rest, Korren. Dr. Vixen's orders," he said, trying to add a bit of charm in his voice though it didn't have the same smooth sound it normally did. He cleared his throat a bit, trying to shake himself out of the thoughts that had been drowning him before leaning forwards to kiss her gently. "Let me help you lay back down," he offered, moving one hand to rest on the middle of her back. Part of him wanted to ask her if she thought Bucky and him were comparable, but he was too afraid the answer would be yes. Korren was an honest person, and so he couldn't imagine her lying to him about it- so what other answer could she give? Honestly, they were alike. He didn't want the confirmation. "Is there anything I can get you? A snack or a drink, more medicine?" he asked, intent on waiting on her every need.
