Ladies and gentlemen, and others, I am going to run a campaign using the second ed Exalted rules (with a few minor alterations) in the universe of the Nippon Ichi video game series Disgaea.


For those unfamiliar with the game series:

The plot is as follows: In the alternate netherworld Novariel, overlord Veldan has died following a tragic accident involving a helicopter, 3 sucubuses and lots of Champaign.


But the overlord was quite the ladies man. He made James Bond look like the pope. As a result, he has quite a few illegitimate children. You are these children. Demons, humans, even angels, the overlord has broken a few hearts.


You will use the Solar Exalted character creation rules. Starting characters. You can be demons, humans or even angels. All follow same basic rules for creation. I'll take about 5 players.


Join this games if you want over the top action, siliness, breaking the fourth wall, love freaks, explosive penguins, big lipped aligator moments and Etna.
 
I'm unfamiliar with the game, but the three trillion damage video says I must play.

I would so love to get in on this. I'm a huge fan of the Disgaea series.


Ninja with Thrown and Mountain Hurling Might sounds like a grand old time...


Will you be playing down on the magical materials in this case? ie: Will we still have Solar Animas and be wielding big golden Orichalcum weapons?
 
Quick FAQ:


1) Can we play (insert other type of exalted here) ? I guess. But I only have the core rulbook so it's up to you to do rule digging.


2) What about weapons and materials ?


You can use them. Some thematic renaming might be required.


3) What rythm of posting are we having ?


I'll be trying to do an average of one a day. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Since I'm planning to work all summer, I'll be here for all the holidays.


4) Can I have my own prinny, dood ?


Yes, they come under followers. (for the time being, followers can only be prinnies.) The prinny cape for them not to explode when thrown is an artefact 1.


5) What about allies ?


You can have allies. They can be sidekicks and so. GM controls them.


6) Will we be meeting other main characters of the series ?


Most likely.


Well, I seem to have more then enough players. The slots are full now. I'll be asking for the opening of a sub-forum.
 
While I haven't played any of the Disgaea games, I am interested in this...


are there any special rules or whatnot for playing a demon/angel, or would that just be primarily a cosmetic difference?
 
I now kind of feel guilty at getting in... and the game running out of slots that damn fast. :oops:
 
If that many people want to join, I can split up in two separate games. DOn't worry, I don't have that much of a life anyway.
 
Ok, I've apparently got 9 interested people. Fits well in two groups. I can squeeze still a couple more.
 
So, are there any differences between angel/demon/human aside from appearance/origin/mentality?
 
One more. That's it. The game is now closed. I really can't fit anyone more. (unless someone quits).
