I colored some of my sketches! I went a little overboard with the fun marker stuff on Adriel but it was a good time at least lol. It's supposed to be all psychic-y. And then I just colored Percy. I'll probably do some more sketches tomorrow or Sunday, I have a wedding to go to tonight but I wanted to post these since I got them done :)

@Bunny Prince : Again, super cute drawings! It makes me happy that you've been inspired to start drawing more often. Please be sure to continue sharing your drawings with us in the future!

@Bunny Prince: I LOVE THEM! They look so nice and cute and precious. I love how you colored Adriel because I feel like you nailed the psychic-look, and Percy is just perfect, of course. c8

Hello, writers! I'm just here to give a quick update about my availability. Tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn, I'm going to be shipped off to Washington DC for a week, where I'll only have a few limited windows of time to check up on Islands of Origin. It'll only be for a week, so everything should be fine, but I just thought I'd give you all an update to be sure we're all on the same page. If anything, it'll give me something to look forward to, since I'll be able to binge all of the posts that have been made in the meantime while I'm on the plane ride home. Happy writing!

Inspired by @CompuCat and Nitraga, I've been working on a song. I ended up getting a soundcloud just so I could show everyone. I hope you like it!

alright shit ok so apparently rpnation only had me following the sign up tab and not the whole rp? and so i didnt get notifications abt everything thats going on? and tbh i just like completely zoned out. rip. my bad everyone. im here and im working on some writing

@Ryve : I already talked about this with you over Skype, but I just love your music! I can really see @CompuCat 's influence too, with all of those neat synths. You totally nailed Nitraga's atmosphere. I hope you continue to make more music! If you do, please share it with us!

@anydalch : No problem! It happens to all of us sometimes. We're not too far in yet, and not everyone has even made their first post. Take your time and be sure to come to me if you need help, whether that's with brainstorming, prompts, or editing. :^)

@Ryve THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE. Sorry had to make that joke, anyways I love this song so much!

Also sorry if I have been MIA for awhile guys, I'm taking a writing class that takes up my afternoon entirely. So yeah....

Hey @Ryve, just took a good listen to that track...WOW. Well done-absolutely love the blend of orchestral and synth instruments. Laying down individual tracks for the orchestral instruments can get really painstaking after a while, too...needless to say, I'm downright impressed. Just curious, what DAW/instruments do you use?

@CompuCat : In all honesty, I made it with the iPad garage band. It's got some pretty good instrumental sounds that make it so you only need one track of each, but it still took me a long time. Not gonna lie, it sorta feels like cheating, but the end result is still really good, I think!

Anyway, I'm very glad that people seem to like it! I'm normally sort of reluctant about posting my work online, but I'm amazed at the support that I'm getting! Thank you all so much!!

Hey, if it works, it works. I've done some crazy stuff when making music too (Isle Genesis uses sampled drums run through a guitar amp simulator, for example). I honestly had no idea GarageBand on iPad could pull off those filter sweeps like that! :)

i realized that pretty much everyone had an icon of their character except me (and also compucat) and since i joined rpnation Just For This Roleplay i figured i should probably draw myself a new thing to match

thus: here's shira! or

<-- there's shira . over there is.. where they are,

i really like the style of gen I/II official pokemon art and i tried my best to kinda sorta emulate that through Serious Overuse Of The Watercolor Tool. overall: pretty alright, imo !

@ectoplasmius : That looks great! I've always loved the Gen 1/2 watercolor style. Shira looks very determined. I've seen some of your other art as well, and it impresses me how you can draw in many different styles with many different techniques!

I'm going to be going to camp for four weeks starting tomorrow. I'll be fully inactive during that time, unfortunately. I'll be back on june 22nd.

I'm excited to read the responses when I get back!

@ectoplasmius: Your icon looks awesome! I really love the textures you incorporated into the picture, and I think it does look quite similar to the gen I/II style! Nice job! 8D

Hey, guys. It won't be much of a loss because I haven't even participated so far, but even so I'm sorry about this: at the moment, I won't be able to continue with this roleplay for personal and family reasons. There's a possibility that I'll rejoin later if there are still spaces, but it's unlikely. Like I said, I'm really sorry, and this roleplay is super excellent. I hope you have fun with it! It seems like you are already.

Hello, writers! Things have been a little on the slow side recently, but I have an acquaintance who is currently working on a Sign-Up, so that should help move things along. In the meantime, I wanted to ask your opinion on two things.

1. Would anyone be interested in an Islands of Origin Skype group? I feel like it'd be nice for us to have a space to talk that's a little more casual. I also know that a lot of you still have questions about the world and the way things work in Islands of Origin, both from a story standpoint and a technical standpoint, so that would be a more accessible space to open up that type of discussion. I know Skype has the tendency to be on the buggy side, but it's a fairly universally used chat client. Please let me know if you'd be interested!

2. I've been considering making a series of weekly posts in the Out of Character thread called "Tidbits and Trivia." (That's only a working title since I know it sounds a bit cheesy.) In Tidbits and Trivia, I would talk somewhat in-depth about a certain aspect of the Islands of Origin universe. For example, I have an entire entry written about evolution, and I'm also thinking about writing up entries about technological advancements, currency, types and how they interact with each other, and a few other things. My concern is that writing about my thoughts on these topics would discourage writers from exploring them on their own, thus restricting the freedom that you have. What do you think? Do you think that this would be informative, or would it be too limiting? Or should I find a happy medium and only write a post once in a while instead of making it weekly or bi-monthly? Please let me know what you think!

Your feedback on both of these topics would be highly appreciated, so please leave a reply, send me a PM, or text/Skype me if you have my contact info! Thank you!

@Ribbons I would love to be part of an IOO Skype chat. It would be really fun to talk to everyone and also would help remind me to log onto this site cause it doesn't notify me outside of the site and I have memory problems x_x

And those posts sound like they'd be super cool and informative! I think you can keep them from being too limiting by leaving wiggle room in the details. Cause it might be hard to explore something if there isn't a framework laid out. Except I can't think of a good, articulate example so I'm probably just saying nonsense I apologize.

@Ribbons I think a skype group would be awesome! I'd give us a chance to get to know each other better, as well as collaborate more easily, I think.

I think it would be helpful if we could get your input on the mechanics of your world, esp since you've put so much time into this. If needed, I think we could also help offer additional input on how things can be added or such to build off of your own ideas. Does that sound okay?

@Ribbons: I think a skype group sounds like a wonderful idea! Getting to know each other better might help things run a bit more smoothly, and as @Jigen said, allow us to collaborate more easily.

I also think that the Tidbits and Trivia idea sounds great as well! I feel like having a better understanding of the various aspects of IOO would give me a little bit more direction in my posts, and ultimately improve them. I don't feel like it would limit my creativity either. I want to be sure that I'm respecting and effectively portraying your AU as best as I can, because I really appreciate the complexity of it, and I can tell you've spent a lot of time on it. :^)
