Realistic or Modern Diablo's Summer Camp for Teens (IC)

Berries

Berry bad fruit puns
"Welcome to Diablo's Summer Camp!" The sole camp councilor grinned at the kids who would be his for the next two weeks. The teens had all just arrived, dropped off on a variety of buses, taxis, parents and some their own cars. Invited inside the main lodge to have some cold cranberry juice on the smoldering day, the kids were now sat in a half-circle of sorts around the lounge area.

Joshua, the councilor, had his feet up on his desk and his arms crossed as he leaned back in his chair. "Now, I don't care if you guys were dragged in here by the ears or if you actually want to be here, but either way we are going to have some fun together." Kicking away from the desk, the councilor spun around in his wheel-y chair until he reached a small basket nearby.

"I'll be collecting your phones now," he commanded, placing the basket in the middle of the semi-circle of teens. "Cough 'em up, you'll be able to write letters to your parents if you want." Grinning in a mocking manner, knowing the vast majority weren't going to be writing home, Joshua stood up.

"Now, you all will have to know a few things going in. First, all the boys will be housed in Turtle Hut which is located towards the East side of the lake. The girls will all be in the Tipsy Tepee which is located towards the West. The building we are currently in is Boot Lodge, and is our base. You guys are allowed no electronics without my consent, nor are you allowed any food or drink outside of what is served in our cafeteria across the hall. Namely, no alcohol and no coffee."

"Aside from that things are pretty simple. No fighting, no dying, no getting injured... You guys are old enough now to think by yourselves, just don't do anything that will cause me to have undue paperwork and we'll be best friends."

Rubbing his hands together, Joshua pulled out eight sheets of paper out of a drawer on his desk. "Now for our first activity!" He moved around the room distributing the pages. They read, quite simply:

Complete as many of these tasks as possible. Each one will give you a certain amount of points. The person who wins will be granted one favor from me during the camp! (Favors include: phone access, internet access, food/drink requests...) You must stay in the lounge. I will be tallying points.
  • Learn everybody's real names. For each real name you learn, earn 1 point.
  • Lie to somebody about your name. For each person you convince, earn 1 point.
  • Challenge somebody to a game of rock, paper, scissors. The winner gets 2 points.
  • Engage in a thumb war. The winner earns 2 points.
  • Create a tango line. The creator gets 1 point for every person who joins the line.
  • Propose marriage to someone else in the room. If your proposal is accepted, gain 3 points. If you are denied, lose one point.
  • Swap shoes with another person. Each person gains 2 points.
  • Swap shirts with another person. Each person gains 3 points.
  • Do another person's hair. The stylist gains 2 points, the participant gains 1 point.
  • Create a human pyramid. For every human on the pyramid, each participant earns 1 point.
  • Steal something from somebody and don't get caught. For every item stolen, earn 3 points.
  • For every activity completed while holding hands with another person, gain a x2 multiplier for the activity.
Note: If everybody ends up with the same number of points, well... I'd have to give you all a favor wouldn't I? However, I'm not accepting any number of points below five for a tie!
Joshua

Ryukaa sighs "Alright." He looks around at everyone there. They seem to be pretty chill. 'Maybe this will be interesting?' He thinks to himself. This might be a big chance to meet people at this camp.

Day 1
神井諭紀雄

Giving up his smartphone wasn't such a big issue for 17-year-old Yukio Kamii, who, aside from a couple of pictures and Temple Run 2 (which he hadn't opened in six weeks), had nothing of interest on the device. No Instagram or Snapchat, and just 22 contacts (two of whom were his parents, and another being his younger sister).

In more ways than one, it was a highly liberating feeling. Yukio had always felt somewhat bogged down by the presence of the hand-me-down iPhone 4 in his pocket, threatening to buzz with yet another notification like an uninvited guest clawing at the door. A long overdue assignment from the Jurassic period? Does Dad want me to get another pack of Pall Malls on the way home? And just what has Donald Trump said this time?

Without the thing, Yukio could finally kick back and enjoy true solitude.

Or, at least, solitude as far as the world of electronics and school was concerned. For the next two weeks or so, he'd be together with seven other boys and girls of roughly his age whom he did not know at all.

How exactly he'd ended up here wasn't something Yukio really remembered. Perhaps it was for the detoxifying atmosphere of the great outdoors. Or maybe because he'd had just about enough of wasting his summers trapped indoors (albeit sometimes by his own doing), which made him feel depressed, and either exposed his ribcage or packed a couple of spare rolls along his midriff. Both of which he always had to slog hard to correct upon summer's end, year after year.

He was determined to enjoy the camp as much as he could. First, however, he'd have to get past yet another of those cringe-worthy icebreaker games they always played at the beginning of camps. The camp councillor, whose name was Joshua, seemed like a decent chap; that, however, didn't do much to alleviate the awkwardness of being forced to share his name and his age and one interesting thing about himself and God knew what.

Oh?

Stealing a brief, barely noticeable glance at one of the guys sitting across from him (he was tall and seemed like the basketball sort), Yukio scanned the contents of the paper, his amber irises darting back and forth as he registered each bullet point carefully. Sweat dripped down the back of his neck, rolling across the veins that criss-crossed his arms and dripping into the floor. Everybody else was sweltering and dripping just as much as he was; the temperature was, after all, at least 35 degrees Celsius. How much that was in Fahrenheit, he didn't really know.

Sharing names, lying about names, yeah. Swapping shoes... maybe... But swapping shirts?

The things that some people would do to win.

Best to start small.

The boy put the paper aside, turning to face the boy sitting next to him. He looked roughly Yukio's age, or perhaps a year older; his hair was a vibrant purple, but he still looked distinctively Asian nonetheless. Perhaps he was Japanese? Statistically speaking, one was far more likely to run into a Chinese person than a Japanese person, but Yukio seemed to meet a lot more fellow Japanese. Maybe it was like how his father, after buying a new Volkswagen Passat six years ago, kept seeing Passats on the road.

"Hello", Yukio began. With regard to names, he was going to let the other boy make the first move.

Leo stared at the man asking for his phone with thinly veiled hatred. He realized the man was just doing his job but Leo's phone was incredibly important to him. He briefly wondered how easy it would be to just lie and say that he didn't have his phone on him. Would the man frisk him if he said that? Leo ultimately decided to just hand the phone over, not wanting to cause any trouble on the first day. he'd get it back sooner or later. He almost felt twitchy after giving it up, constantly feeling in his pocket for a device that wouldn't be there. He cringed at how many missed messages he was going to have by the end of the week.

When the man, Joshua began handing out papers, Leo held back a sigh. He hadn't known what to expect when he signed up for this camp to be fair, but he didn't imagine this. This was some elementary school stuff, besides the encouraging theft. Leo just prayed they wouldn't end up in a circle singing Kumbaya by the end of the day. He hated being treated like a child but he would endure it with a smile, just like everything else. He began to read the paper and the part about the favor intrigued him. If he could get his phone back he might care a little more about this activity. That hope quickly melted away as he read what was actually on the sheet. Steal something? Change shirts with somebody? This guy was getting off on this, wasn't he? Watching his campers do stupid stuff just for his amusement. He cast a sideways glare at the councilor but said nothing.

Well, he definitely wasn't going to trade shirts with anyone. Although it might help alleviate some of the heat. He wasn't particularly dressed for the weather. He was currently wearing a blue polo and some shorts. The polo wasn't a material that he would describe as breathy, and it was beginning to stick to his skin a little from the sweat.

Leo decided to look around the room at the small group that for one reason or another decided to come to this camp. One person had already gotten up and was talking to someone else. Probably trying to get an early lead on points. There was a diplomatic approach to this whole thing though. Axel had begun to come up with a plan that would involve all of them winning the favor and the councilor hopefully not being able to just watch them do weird stuff.

The plan revolved around people not accumulating any unnecessary points so before the two guys got too friendly Leo stood up and walked over to them. He leaned against a desk, making sure to keep his back turned to the councilor. He towered over the other two. As he spoke he was sure to keep his voice quiet so that Joshua wouldn't hear him. "There's an easy way to go about this." He didn't bother saying hi or introducing himself. All he could think about right now was getting his phone back anyway. "We all share our names with each other. Our -real- ones." He made sure to stress that part. He didn't particularly want anyone lying then after his plan, telling them all their real names and winning. "Then we all just get together and do the pyramid. Done, everyone ends with 9 points. Well above the tie limit and we all get a favor."

He looked between the two males, searching their faces for any kind of reaction to his proposition. It was the logical way to get what he wanted. The human pyramid would be annoying and probably take a lot longer than necessary but it would work out in the end.

Ryukaa smirks at the guy. "Thats actually really smart. By the way my names Ryukaa Miura." He said with a smirk still plastered on his face. This guy had it all planned out huh. Maybe Ryukaa can actually meet some really cool people here. And the people genuinely looked pretty chill and he would want to talk to them.

"Yukio Kamii", introduced Yukio to both Leo and Ryukaa. He smiled at both of them, keeping his eyes from making prolonged eye contact with either of them (particularly Leo) to avoid any awkward silences that could have ensued.

First impression wise, they both seemed like decent guys, even if Leo was a little bit too assertive for Yukio's liking. Ryukaa, in particular, had an interesting hair colour. And name too. It wasn't every day one heard a double "a" syllable at the end of a personal name.

"Ryukaa", repeated Yukio, taking care to stress on the final "a" syllable at the end of the other boy's name. He paused to think for a moment, but then, having forgotten what it was he was going to say, simply added a slurred "never mind".

Yukio glanced at some of the others.

Then, not particularly sure of who else he could approach, he turned back round to face Leo and Ryukaa.

"I don't suppose you have a way to make sure everybody's in on your plan?" he asked Leo. Fingering the paper, without waiting for Leo to answer, Yukio took out the mechanical pencil he had been keeping in the front pocket of his jeans (what demon had possessed him to turn up for a summer camp in jeans, he didn't know, but at least he had packed a good supply of shorts and baggy track pants) and, sitting back down where he had originally been, began to twirl it. "There's sure to be a few who cock it up..."

Leo nodded his head at the two as they introduced themselves. He supposed it was only fair to give his own name, now that he knew both of theirs. "Name's Leo Corsair." He looked back over his shoulder just to make sure Joshua wasn't listening to the small group talk. He noted that the guy that had introduced himself as Yukio was avoiding meeting his gaze. It didn't bother him much, there were plenty of people at school that were afraid of him for being popular or whatever other reason.

The teen blinked when Yukio asked him how he'd make sure that everyone else followed the plan. He crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head a bit as he thought about it. He spoke quietly, thinking out loud. "Guess I just assume no one wants to piss everyone off the first day of camp. I mean he'll announce the winner, right? If he says that it's not all of us then we'll probably get a little annoyed at whoever was selfish enough to take the win for themselves. This helps everyone after all." He gave a light shrug of his shoulders. Even Leo wasn't cynical enough to think someone would screw over strangers like that for no reason.

He eyed the two, letting an easy grin come to his face. "I would say us 3 just take the win for ourselves but the paper says everybody has to have the same number of points. We just have to show him we're not going to play his stupid little game. I mean do either of you really want to steal from the people you're going to be living with for the rest of the week? Or change shirts with them after we've all been sweating in this hot box?"

Ryukaa listened carefully. "You gotta point there." He said thinking. He honestly didn't have a clue what the plan was gonna be but he liked the way Leo said for only them three to take the points. Well maybe because he didn't really want anyone screwing them over for a win for a stupid game on the first game of a week long camp.

Day 1
神井諭紀雄

With one hand to his chin, Yukio silently gazed out the window, contemplating the plan carefully. Sweat continued to soak into his clothes, as he tried his best to take his mind off the heat. Occasionally, barely noticeably, his gaze would dart to some of the other boys, half-unwillingly eyeing a collarbone, perhaps, or maybe a hand or a bicep.

"Ah, well. Even if someone does cock up, I guess we can just live with it."

Which, Yukio believed, was more or less true. Things tended to happen outside of one's control all the time, after all; there was only so far one could remain in control. It would be nice to get a little bit of internet, or perhaps some snacks or something, but if only one or two did... such was life.

Of course, though, that wasn't to say that he didn't want a nice treat to kick off a two week adventure camp.

"Let's go, I guess..."

As the camp counselor collected phones, a girl was sketching a young girl with twin tails wearing a uniform, along with a few facial expressions. She was so hooked on sketching, she almost forgot to give her phone and her drawing tablet. That girl's name is Hailey Chagall. As they group split up to make friends, Hailey leaned against the wall and drew more drawings of the twin-tailed schoolgirl. "...But then again, favors sounds pleasing." Hailey thought to herself. She needed internet access to use Tumblr, Wattpad, and other websites that she really liked. Hailey looked around and some of the people she saw didn't look so...inviting. As Hailey looked around, her clothes started to get damp from the sweat. "Oh jeez..." she whispered to herself as she looked at her shirt. She got out a small paper fan from her backpack and fan herself rapidly. "Well, I guess I gotta make some friends..." she thought to herself. She started to walk around the camp.

"You keep saying that word." Leo chuckled at Yukio continuing to say the phrase 'cock up'. He definitely had heard worse before but it was just such an unusual saying. He continued leaning against the desk, eyeing the two people in front of him. They seemed nice enough, it didn't seem like they wouldn't get alone at least. "Well let's just hope they don't 'cock it up', shall we?" He snickered again, letting his gaze shift around the room.

He was looking for his next target to bring into the plan. If he could get everyone on board then he wouldn't have to worry about actually doing the things on that stupid list. his eyes settled on a girl that had been sketching. Leo was never really one himself for drawing but he appreciated those that could. he could barely draw a circle let alone an actual detailed picture, so it fascinated him to watch people do the same.

Spurred on by Yukio's encouragement, Leo jutted his head in the direction of the girl. "Come on." With that he finally pushed away from the desk, not looking back to see if his two new friends were following him. They were in on the plan, that was all that he cared about. Once he reached the girl Leo leaned against the desk iin front of her much in the same way he had with the other two, keeping his back to Joshua. Once again he didnn't bother to introduce himself, getting straight to the point. He didn't know how much time Joshua intended to let them have but it would be best not to waste it.

"Hey, I figured out a way to work around this stupid game so that we can all get a favor. All we have to do is get everyone to do the human pyramid, share our names and nothing else. That way we get 9 points and we tie, which makes everyone get a favor. You in?" He stared down at the girl, a warm smile on his face.

The girl saw the blue haired boy get near her. She stopped sketching and looked at him for a while, he looked like he didn't want to be here, she couldn't blame him. She agreed to go to this camp herself, but she knew some people's parents forced them to go. After Leo asked her to do a human pyramid, she thought about it for a second. "Hmm, I'm not very strong, but I will give it a chance. " Hailey thought up of an idea. "Wait, I have an idea. We all have to a thumb war or another activity that has to do with hands! The camp consuler said that for every activity completed while holding hands with another person, gain a x2 multiplier for the activity, right? So, that would be...four points for all of us. " Hailey smiled and said "I'll do it! By the way, my name's Hailey Chagall." She opened up her sketchbook and showed to it the boys. Inside the sketchbook, their were drawings and sketches of bizarre monsters, strange settings, and character models. Along with a few short stories. "Drawing and writing is my passion...Oh, how rude of me. I didn't ask for your names. So, you are...?" Hailey closed her sketchbook and waited for a response from the boys.

Day 1
神井諭紀雄

His job (namely, to listen to the plan and share his real name) more or less done, Yukio sat back down, watching the others with a half-smile comprising a mix of friendliness and a slight boredom. Reaching for his drawing pad, the boy stopped twirling his mechanical pencil, gripping it, instead, between his thumb, index finger, and middle finger, bringing it gingerly to the smooth surface of a blank page.

Slowly and gently, Yukio dragged a few strokes across the paper like a swordsman cutting arcs in the air, leaving behind greyish marks as he went. Slowly, the image of an old man's face, scowling and grouchy, began to materialise on the paper, his mouth curled into an irritated, irregular tangle and his eyes narrowed to mere lines as the veins on his forehead pulsated. What had made this figment of Yukio's imagination so angry, he didn't know, but something about the force in that old man's expression urged Yukio to give him a little bit more flesh.

"Teruhiko... Amano?" Yukio mumbled to himself, as he wrote down the name he had given the old man, first in Japanese, and then in English.

As time passed, the subject matter of Yukio's scribbles became more and more varied. He tried writing out a few different kanji combinations for "Ryukaa Miura", drew a few assorted things (including one of his Onitsuka Tiger shoes), and scribbled a few phrases that came to his head. Nothing profound in particular; just things he needed to get off his mind for one reason or another.

2SgqrRv.png

He hadn't heard much of Hailey's question, but enough had registered for him to hear what information she wanted.

"Hello, Hailey", he greeted with a halfhearted smile, raising his head to look at her in the eye. "I'm Yukio Kamii."

It was then that Yukio took notice of her drawings. They seemed... quite scary, to put it in the most descriptive and least confusing way possible, without unnecessarily abusing superlatives.

"Nice art", he complimented, with a more genuine smile this time.

"My names Ryukaa Miura. What's yours?" He asked the girl. Deep down Ryukaa knew that he wanted to maybe find a girl here. So he could maybe spend more time with them. He just likes being with girls in general. Hopefully they weren't weird.

Leo shrugged, looking down at the girl who had introduced herself as Hailey. "I mean it could work. Couple things wrong with that plan though. For one, I don't think thumb wrestling would count as holding hands, since you have to to do it in the first place. Secondly, I'm operating under the assumption that we can't do the same thing twice. If we could, we could just say, swap shirts back and forth with someone and collect an infinite amount of points." The teen crossed his arms over his chest again, looking around the room.

"I'm Leo Corsair by the way." He rose a hand to cover his mouth. Hailey had gotten him thinking. If they could indeed do the same thing twice this would be even easier. Just have everyone do rock paper scissors with someone else twice after learning everyone's name. That would equal five. He refused to acknowledge the hand holding rule. He wasn't a toddler.

Axel looked around at the two artists, admiring their work. It seemed he was currently in the minority with everyone having some artistic skills. Well, if they caught him on the basketball court they'd be in his world. He hopped onto the desk he was leaning against, eyes gazing around the room. He wasn't much for small talk so he let everyone else do that while he scanned out the next target. he didn't know who he was looking for, just anyone in particular. Or something more fun to happen, whichever happened first. Leo checked his watch, letting out a sigh. Were they really expected to just sit in this hot room getting to know each other all day?

As Yukio complemented her art, she smiled. "Aww, thanks." Hailey listened to Leo's rebuttal and understood him. "Oh, I see. How many people do we need to make the human pyramid? Like six people or something?" As she was greeting the other boys, she showed them more pages of her artwork, the deeper she got in the book, the more creative, surreal, and disturbing her art was. There was even a few pages of gore and nudity in there. Hailey realized she was showing the boys blood and boobies and she slammed the book. "Woah, where did that come from?!" Hailey laughed nervously for a while. She coughed and continued to talk. "Do we really need more people for this pyramid or are we good?" Hailey looked around the room once more and felt a little more welcome and safe. She didn't know why she felt like this, but at least she was in a happy mood. A very happy mood.

"You have a very interesting imagination, Hailey", remarked Yukio tersely, as he set aside his drawing pad and got back on his feet. Declining to comment more on the contents of Hailey's sketchbook (as well as her cutesy response to its unintentionally being revealed to the others), he took a few quick glances at the others, sizing them up and thinking silently.

The human pyramid, theoretically, wouldn't be that hard. Four people at the bottom, and then three people, and then two, with the lightest one on top.

Of course, though, one would have to take into account the fact that some people were weaker than others. Yukio himself wasn't particularly strong; he took karate lessons when he was younger, but had stopped upon attaining his black belt three years ago, due to time constraints. Aside from that, and the 4 kilometres he walked to school on a daily basis, he himself didn't do much physical activity. Seeing as some of the others were much larger than he was, it would be rather difficult to put him on the bottom.

Leo, on the other hand...

"I say we start by allocating each of us to different levels of the pyramid", he said to the others. "The bigger ones on the bottom, and whatnot."

As expected, little Luna had completely fallen into the clutches of one of her absurd daydreams, thus completely zoning out in the middle of the camp councilor's speech; as the people started to dissapate, Luna finally snapped out of her own fantasy world, looking around confusedly. Looking around, she found herself amidst of chaos and scurrying teens depositing phones into baskets, and unbeknowest to Luna, each trying to complete their own tasks. Frantically, Luna stumbled upon a groupf of five individuals, ome of which was talking about building a pyramid. Although she hadnt know it was part of a camp game of sorts, she looked excitedly at the group.

"Can I be on the top, by chance?" Luna asked, pointing at herself. She had always wondered what the view was like as someone who wasnt 5'1" and terribly small.

Spook

Having kept his headphones on until the very last minute, Spook had been more than a little annoyed at having his phone confiscated. He rarely used it to call or text anyone, but being separated from his music was beyond ridiculous.

Rolling his eyes and muttering something rather snarky, the raven-haired teen slid his drawing pad out from under his arm and began to sketch, ignoring the others completely. There was nothing for him here, and he might as well pretend he was back in his room.

Spook could hear the others talking, something about a human pyramid and points. He didn't care to help with that, and chose to ignore them in favor of his art.

He would, however, watch their attempt. It would likely be hilarious, after all.

"I'm cool with it. Maybe I could be the one to hold you? Obviously if your ok with that of course." He replied to the girl scratching the back of his head.

Leo checked his watch again, a bad habit of his when he was bored. He simply went about answering questions while they waited. "Doesn't matter how many people we need, we just need everyone. The paper says everyone has to tie. If we're going to do this we have to do it in such a way that Joshua has no choice but to admit defeat." Leo glanced around the room at the kids that were still off in their own little world at their desks. He counted eight kids in all, including himself. That meant they wouldn't be able to pull off a perfect pyramid but it would have to do. He had been so deep in thought that he barely noticed the girl showing everyone her weird drawings. He was glad he missed it because he wasn't sure he'd not be able to be a little weirded out by it. Well, if you have the skills to draw, draw whatever you want he supposed.

Yukio's voice brought Leo back to reality once again and he nodded along with the other male's words. Leo slapped his hand onto the other's back like he'd known him for years and grinned. "Exactly. It's not particularly rocket surgery." He snickered at his own small joke before he began thinking of the logistics of the pyramid. "I mean it seems to be pretty simple. Just have all the guys on the bottom, build up from there. Of course we only have 8 which means we can't do an actual pyramid unless we just have the second row of people directly on the bottom row's backs." Another problem but it wasn't their fault if it wasn't technically a perfect pyramid. You worked with what you could. Suddenly a new voice chimed in and Leo turned to see the source. He'd noticed the girl earlier but hadn't said anything to her. Leo noted happily that she hadn't bothered to introduce herself, just like he'd been doing. Of course they would all have to learn each other names at some point. "Yeah, sure. The top you shall be. Glad to have you aboard. You're definitely the smallest anyway. That just means Hailey would have to be in the second row." Leo couldn't help but wonder if they were talking too loud if this girl was so easily able to hear them. The last thing he needed was for Joshua to catch on to their plan and change the rules before they finished.

With that Leo once more looked around at the three remaining kids that hadn't gotten out of their seats yet. There was one black haired kid that seemed to be brooding in his own little corner. He knew it would probably be a hard sell since that kid didn't even look like he wanted to be here. Leo had the thought of bringing a girl with him but decided against it. A voice called out and he chuckled, turning to face Ryukaa for a moment. "No, I'm afraid that's not gonna happen. We need your muscles on the bottom. Besides we're going to do it on our hands and knees. I don't particularly want to hold all that weight with my arms. Excuse me for a moment."

With that Leo pushed away from the group, not bothering to look to see if anyone was following him. He reached the desk of the other kid, smiling warmly at him. Leo noted that this guy was drawing too. Seriously, what was up with that? Did he sign up to an art camp on accident? "Hey. We've got a plan to all get a favor so we can get our phones or whatever else back. All you have to do is come join the human pyramid. It's stupid I know but, do it for your phone."

Day 1
神井諭紀雄

Yukio, having more or less established himself as one of Leo's main right-hand-men, smiled at the others, gesturing to the empty space before them, which they were encircling in their semicircle.

"Let's get started", he said, trying as hard as he could to make his tired voice sound passably excited. Sticking the pencil back into his pocket, Yukio sized up the others and the area before him, thinking hard of possible combinations that would allow for a stable pyramid.

Of course, one also had to take into account the fact that just because somebody was big didn't mean he or she was strong. There was no way to tell for sure who could and could not take weight, but then again, there was only so far one could calculate. Were they really willing to go so far just to get a little bit of internet access? It was just a game, after all.

"We can't be sure that everybody is as strong as they look", he murmured, partly to himself and partly to Leo, subconsciously bringing one hand to his chin à la John Dalton. "But I think size should be a good indicator of where so and so should go and whatnot..."

His voice trailed off, as he looked at his own body.

"Methinks I should go in the middle."

...

Spook

Though his eyes were focused on his sketch, Spook could see someone approaching and sighed apathetically.

Couldn't they tell he wanted to be left alone?

"Oh really? That's great," he said sarcastically, looking up from the image he'd been working on, a bloody and bandaged heart that was stuck through with an assortment of nails and knives.

Slamming his sketchpad shut, he glared at the other boy with seemingly emotionless eyes as he stood, hair falling over most of his face in the process.

"Do I look like someone that can hold up three hundred pounds of sweaty, sunburned camper?"

To be fair, Spook had a point. Calling him skinny would be an understatement, and his physique most closely resembled one of the Tim Burton-esque characters he so loved to draw. What he lacked in strength, he could ususally make up for with wit and creative ability, but neither of those skills would be particularly useful now.

Placing one hand on his hip, he wore a rather moody smirk. "Yeah, didn't think so. Sorry about you guys not being able to call your moms."

Leo blinked when the kid decided to get all sarcastic. He could tell from just that little comment that he wasn't going to like this kid. When he stood up Leo took a step back. The action looked casual but he was actually preparing himself for a fight, should it come to that. When the kid just kept talking he let himself relax a bit, crossing his arms over his chest. "Looks can be deceiving." Leo said plainly. Like how II thought you weren't going to be a little twerp. He nearly said that out loud but managed to hold his tongue by some miracle. Normally if someone had talked like this to him back at home he'd just lay them out.

The teen continued ranting and Leo just stood there, listening to him with the same face that was devoid of emotion that he was staring at. Although there was a hint of boredom in his eyes. he didn't know if this kid was trying to intimidate him or he was just in a bad mood. "Well. Who said I expected you to be on the bottom? You can be near the top with the girls. That other girl over there looks stronger than you anyway." Leo jerked a thumb in the direction of the last girl he had yet to talk to. His comment was supposed to provoke this kid into helping them out with the pyramid. Even if it didn't work, it at least made him feel a little better.

Leo pinched the bridge of his nose when the kid kept being difficult, doing nothing to hide his loud sigh. This kid was all talk. It was easy to talk so much crap when there was an adult standing around making sure you don't get beat up. "I can assure you I have much more important people to talk to than my mother. I don't know what your deal is but like it or not you're stuck with us for the next week. And do you really want to be the one reason that we don't all get a favor?" Leo straightened his spine a bit to make him appear even taller, staring daggers down at the other who's name he still didn't know.

Talking to : spookie spookie
