Yui sat in front of the computer, slender fingers tap-tap-tapping on the keys. She had recently come across something she did not recognize, and wanted to find out what it was, on top of possible weaknesses. The dark-haired woman stopped and released a sigh, sitting back and running her fingers over her scar, slipping into a silent daze as she recalled the events that lead up to her arrival and employment in this industry.

Shiro had parked his car right in front large office he was able to buy from a man who decided to move his little business to the other side of the world. Got it pretty cheap as well which he was glad for and while he hasn't given his business a name yet; decided it'd be best just to let things take it's course for now. Considering he hasn't had the place for more than a month and longer still since he recently got into the business of devil hunting. Why would he take a dangerous job like that is anyone's guess and usually gave no answer on the matter other than a man with silver hair. He quite frankly didn't know who it was, the memory was such a blur to him. He got out the car and slowly raised his head to look at the building in front of him. He took the time to clean and keep the place up on his free time. It'd be no use being a sloppy devil hunter, people might not take him as serious and that would be a problem.

The place recently gotten more busy as time went on and he thought back on that as he was walking up the steps. There was most people who stayed out of his way, his demeanor was downright frightening at times. At first, people were afraid of asking him for help but they couldn't deny his strength or accuracy to get the job done. Soon after that, it became bustling with people, he became well known and even hired a couple of people in order to help him at his job because it came too...hectic even for him. He need others to help sort things out with him in order to get to the root of the job's problem. Now that became the second problem, while people needed his fighting skill, to work with the man was another story or so people thought. Many others thought he might be too rough, brash, or all around tough to work with. Yet people were only looking on the outside of things instead of just giving him a chance. To be honest, it really bugged him. A lot but he expected it, he was prepared for it. What he wasn't prepared for, however, was someone actually taking him up on his offer.

One of the first people who took him up on his offer for the job was Yui Furukawa. The girl was bright as she was cautious and just as Shiro had thought, it was for good reason. Her kindness was...unsettling to say the least. Shiro wasn't used to it. No, scratch that. He would NEVER get used to it. From the first time she came in, hired and working with him. She was surprisingly calm about it and what was more surprising was that she actually wasn't shaken by his outward personality. Although he may not say it, he was happy about it and her qualifications were great. Soon enough, she had gotten a job at his office and since then it expanded quite a lot. While it's a little more decorated than what Shiro would've liked, it did catch potential customers so he wasn't complaining. Shiro walked into the office and closed the door silently behind him. He could see that the girl seemed to be lost in thought or that she was inspecting the ceiling with intensity, he knew it was the first one. He walked up to the front desk, putting his hands on it and leaning forward toward her.

"Is there something on your mind, Ms. Furukawa?" Shiro was usually formal with her and very rarely did he call her by her first name.

Yui jumped as she was startled from her daze. "Ah... Y-yes sir. I took a small break because my eyes were getting tired and I just spaced off. Sorry," she murmured. She swept the few strands that had gathered in her face to the side is fluid, graceful motion. "How was the last assignment?" She asked softly. She was curious about the job. Frankly, she thought the client was a bit bitchy. But, she was rich, so...

Money wins out over mannerisms every time; Especially when one has bills to pay, and a pocky habit to feed. Yes, the girl was addicted to the sweet treat. Yui was often found with a stick of strawberry or banana-chocolate flavored pocky poking delicately past her lips as she read through endless eyewitness accounts and novels of folklore.

Shiro shook his head before standing up straight and crossing his arms, giving a slight sigh before opening his jacket and moving his buttoned up shirt to the side a little at the top. There he showed Yui the wound he recently got and how he expertly stitched it up then moved his shirt back in place. "Long story short, this demon was a bit...stronger than the others. It seemed that this one was feeding on the negative energy of the one who summoned it. This person must've possessed a strong soul in order to call this one out and had it under their control until I finished it off. The client paid me...then I had to sit there and listen to her go on and on about me turning down her offer of being her personal bodyguard. It was painful." Shiro rubbed his head a little, signalling that he had a terrible headache but it was something he was used to. He walked over to the couch that was at the end of the room then laid down on it, covering his eyes with his left hand.

"I'm sorry to disturb you but I could use a glass of water if you wouldn't mind giving me some." his voice was soft, almost monotone as if he was trying to squeeze out what little life he had into his words. Shiro used his other hand to rub where the wound was, it was still tender. He decided not to mess with it so he didn't make himself bleed anymore than he already has. It wasn't like him to make a mistake but considering he's been going to job to job without much rest might had something to do with that. "That is to say, Ms Furukawa, if you're tired then you're welcome to rest. I don't expect you to work every minute on the minute while you're here so relax a bit." Shiro yawned after saying that, thought about taking a nap at that moment but he needed to stay awake just in case someone else came in.

The girl gave a small sigh at the sight of the wound. She stood and walked away. Her absence from the room was followed by the sound of heels clicking against the floor as she made her return with a glass and a rag. She had wet the rag down and looked over the injury.

"Mind if I give your wound a once-over?" She asked tentatively, hand poised over his shoulder to set the rag down.

Shiro opened one eye to look at her, the expression on his face didn't change. Same ol' pseudo angry face as always. He sat up, taking the glass of water. He didn't say anything but give a nod of his head then turned to her. He pulled the shirt over a bit, ignoring the fact that the shirt had a huge blood stain on the left side of his chest just below his shoulder right where the wound was. He took a swig of the water before stopping a moment then downed the rest hungrily before putting the glass on the table in front of him. He made sure to keep himself still while she wiped down the wound from the rest of the dried up blood surrounding it. It still stung to no end but he wasn't about to show any weakness to it or in front of her.

"Just be careful, it's still tender." he simply said as he sat up straight to allow her better access to his wound.

She nodded, wiping his injury down carefully. The girl smiled softly once she saw that the wound was clean, but it faded swiftly from her soft features. She reached into her purse and grabbed a stick of chocolate pocky from the box she had bought that morning, poking it past her lips as she stood, grabbing his water glass.

Yui refilled his water and brought it back, along with a couple of pain pills. "Here. Take these," the woman stated, placing them in his Han and setting the water beside him. "I can guarantee that these work insanely well."

She said nothing more and simply sat down on a chair across from him, munching on yet another stick of pocky. A quiet, delighted hum sounded from her as she thumbed through a book, waiting for someone to walk through the door.

Apollo kicked through the door and yelled, "What's up ladies? Apollo is home from the easiest mission ever!" He said that every time no matter how hard the mission was. He couldn't give up his badassness to show the truth. He threw a bundle of fifty dollar bills on a table and threw his stuff down on the table right next to it. He counted the money once more.

Yui closed her book after placing the bookmark against the page that she was reading before she lost her place. "Welcome back..." She said nonchalantly. The girl started nibbling on yet another stick of pocky as she turned to look at him. "Was the payoff as good as you said it'd be, or did they skimp out on the time because of your arrogant behavior?" She asked teasingly. She never meant anything by it, and that was obvious in the way she said it, or giggled quietly after saying something. "I hope you didn't get hurt like Mr. Misaki did." She yawned quietly.

The woman reached a delicate hand into her box of pocky for another stick of the sweet confection, but her fingers only came in contact with cardboard. "Tch...all out."

Victor walks through the door about an hour after Apollo. Most of his shirt was covered in his own blood and a large gash could be seen on his forearm. His recklessness had once again caught up to him and a demon nearly killed him as the result. On the other hand, a large bundle of cash was in his fist. The payday for eliminating the demon .Once he saw Apollo he chuckled and smiled. "So, almighty Apollo... What did you get today." was always trying to outdo Apollo, whether it was competing to see who could kill the most demons, or get the most money.

Yui smiled softly as the third person walked through the door. "Good to see you back so soon, but what happened?" She asked. The woman looked at Shiro. "Man. Today, you guys are just taking beatings left and right." She left the three men alone for a moment to get a kit to tend to the injured newcomer.

Shiro took the medicine in hand and the water, he stared at it a moment before giving Yui a slight nod of his head and took the medicine without hesitation. Since there wasn't anyone else around for the moment, he thought he would get some shuteye for the first time in a week. Although, eyes instantly shot open when he heard Apollo kick open the door but still didn't say anything as he heard him gloat as usual. Shiro merely turned around with his back to everyone. He wanted to sleep even though the office was no place for it but he didn't care as the couch was comfortable but just when he thought he'd be able to close his eyes and finally sleep, another came through the door. It was Victor, another hired hand through this business but it seems out of everyone, he got hurt the most. Shiro finally gets up from the couch and sighed silently to himself. No sleep for him today either, he would just take it easy for now, he guessed.

Shiro took a look over at Victor, seeing the wounds upon him but it seemed his wounds didn't bother him much since it seemed he was still in the mood to gloat to Apollo about his earnings. Even though Shiro told the two not to have these bouts in the middle of work, it seems it fell on deft ears...as always. Shiro sighed a moment and crossed his arms. "I think that's the least of your worries, Victor. It look like the job put you through the ringer, again. Would you two please not do this in the line of work, I'd hate to have to bury one of you two due to recklessness." he said to the both of them. Although he may not have seemed like it, he really did care for all of them which was why he was usually so hard on them. Also, speaking of money which Shiro forgot in the car. "Yui, in my car in the front passengers side is a suitcase. That was the payment for my job, if you wouldn't mind getting it, I'd appreciate it. I counted it on my way back, 50,000 as agreed..." then he smirked a bit. "Also a little extra from her pocket..." he said almost silently.

Victor turned around to face Yui and put his hand on the back of his head. "I got to the location but I got ambushed by some stygian.... and then the elites showed up." He slowly lowered his head and sighed. He had let his cockiness get the best of him and he almost died. He smiled at the thought though. "Seems like an every day routine that I'm fighting for my life, eh?"

Yui nodded, setting the first aid kit down. "Give me a second and I'll fix you up," she said to Victor, then dashed out to Shiro's car and grabbed the suitcase. She set it in front of Shiro with a small, impressed smile, before going back and tending to Victor's wound.

The woman got out some disinfectant and started cleaning the wound diligently, careful not to hurt him. "Part of the job, isn't it?" She joked halfheartedly. She gave him a smile as she got the needle and surgical thread, sewing up the gash as if she had done such things a million times before.

Well, with those three around...she probably had.

Victor bit down on his lip while she sewed his wound. Once she was finished he examined his arm and his smile grew. He looked back to her and nodded in agreement. He rolled his sleeve back down and stood up. "So, is there anything that needs killing? I need the cash." He felt a sudden heat at his side and pulled out his katana an inch, only to see that it was glowing brightly. He rolled his eyes and walked outside. "Wait a minute. I gotta do something really quick." He walked outside and leaned against the wall. he pulled out his katana and scowled at it. He talked in a hushed but frenzied tone. "What do you want now?" He looked up and saw that multiple people were staring at him. "Yes? What, haven't you ever seen a man talk to his sword?" Mostly everyone left after he said that, either to scared to stay or to busy to listen to him talk nonsense. He shook his head and sheathed his katana. "I need to stop talking to you." After that he walked back inside and clap his hands together. "So. Anything?"

"Not right now," Yui replied. "Take a seat and relax. You've had a rough day." She grabbed her purse and sighed. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go buy myself some pocky. Anybody want anything?"

Apollo said to them, "I might need some food. Because my job was a fake. It was just a hoodlum messing around with people. And no I didn't kill him. Just a serious wound. To. The. Legs..." He said with his head down. He knew he shouldn't have done that but who cares? Not him!

Yui gave a sigh and rolled her eyes. "Come on. You need to come with to pick out what you want." She tugged the purse onto her shoulder and waved her hand in a beckoning motion.

She looked At Shiro and Victor. "What about you two. Now that I've got a strong man coming to help me carry stuff since I'm paying, I can buy more stuff."

Victor simply said "Surprise me." before plopping down onto the nearest chair. Leaning back in his seat he reached into his pocket and pulled out a crisp dollar bill, carefully positioning it over his eyes. A crude smile appeared on his face as he waved goodbye to Yui and Apollo. "Have a good time."

Shiro had nodded to Yui, taking out a couple of fifty dollar bills out of his pocket then handing them over. Shiro didn't allow anyone to pay for him, not that he had anything personal. When you been alone for most of your life, some things just seem to stick and sometimes hard to get rid of. "I'm in the mood for cheesecake. Just buy the biggest and expensive one you see." Cheesecake was Shiro's favorite dessert and had it around just whenever possible, you could say it's his weakness but no one really caught onto that just yet, he hoped. Just as he was heading to the desk, the phone in his pocket went off. Looking down at his pocket, he looked at the ID which he curiously raised an eyebrow knowing who it was due to his assigning of ring tones with Yui's help since he was still learning how to use one because he wasn't up-to-date with current technology. Shiro went out the front door and leaned against the railing of the front steps, away from the others for a minute.

"Hello? You're calling rather early, aren't you?" he said in low, quiet tone.

"Is that a way to treat a friend of yours?" the voice sounded female over the phone.

"If you'd stop trying to hit me up for money, I might be inclined to call you such. Now what is it?"

"Your bark is just as worse as your bite as always. Keep that up and you won't have any friends."

"...Do you need something or what?"

"Well yes I do, as a matter of fact. Won't tell you until I get there."

"Get here? You're in town? Since when?"

"Since just now. Flying in first class, you know? I'll be getting to your office soon to talk business."

Shiro's face just fell flat and sighing just as hard while he was rubbing the bridge of his nose. He was hoping to get a day's rest at least but it seems that wasn't going to happen. Usually he knew when she came around, the most that happens is that he's forced to put up with her for a month or two before she disappears with a note stating that she owed him...which she never got around to doing. No matter how fed up he was of it, he knew she'd always trick him into not only putting up with her for a while but the jobs she brought with her as well. Which, by the way, was nothing but trouble. He wondered if all Americans were this way but he pushed that aside and rather not think too deeply on the subject.

"So, how long is it until you're going to be here?"

"A few hours, give or take. So you have all the time in the world to doll that office up quite nicely for my arrival."

"...If I wasn't so nice, I'll kick you in a Hell Gate and lock it behind me so you couldn't get out."

"But we both know that you wouldn't do that besides you'd miss me."

"You're right, I won't. You still have a lot of money to owe me which I will make sure you pay it soon enough."

"Gee, what crawled up your butt today? You seem extra grumpy."

"None of your business. Just get here in one piece." that's when Shiro hung up the phone and stuff it back in his pocket inside the jacket. Sometimes, he wished that he wasn't the only devil hunter some knew in Japan, at least then he could probably go to a bar and have a few drinks as he mulled over some life choices just like everyone else does sooner or later. Forget it though, most likely this was going to be a hectic week. He thought to himself, he might as well just suck it up because no one has it easy especially a Devil Hunter, that's for sure. He walked in the door then closed it silently behind him, silently cursing how much he hate the fact he decided to get a cell phone.

Yui stretched, shoulders popping, before she walked out. The streets were not bustling like they always were during the afternoon rushes. She didn't mind it, though. Less traffic meant less people in stores. Less people in stores meant less idiots that she had to deal with. She yawned and sighed. This was a nice day. It was one of those days that she was tempted to lounge around in the park after she got off work. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of the cool grass on her legs as she leaned against her favorite Sakura tree, munching on a stick of pocky and watching the watery specks of sunlight that managed to sift through the layers of leaves and flowers.

She got to the store and went around, buying what everybody wanted. Shiro's cheesecake. Mmm... Cheesecake was always good... Maybe she'd buy a single piece for herself after picking out a cake for Shiro. She got to the selection and looked it over. Red velvet cheesecake? Yes, definitely getting a piece of that for herself. She yawned and looked over for some classic or some strawberry cheesecake. After finding one that she thought he'd like, she made sure to buy the whole thing and put it in her cart, going next to stock up on food for Apollo. She got enough to last him the week. Then, something sweet for Victor to munch on. Last but not least, she got the treat that she had made the run for originally: pocky. This time, she got three boxes, then went to checkout. After paying for everything but Shiro's cheesecake, which she paid for with fifty of the hundred he had given her.

After coming back to the business, she passed everything out to their respective person, then sat in her chair and leaned back, content with the purchases.

Victor took the off his face just enough to see a box of chocolate pocky in his lap. He picked it and examined before smiling. "Thanks Yui. I'll be sure to pay you back. I promise." He said that practically a million times a day but he never really meant it. He opened the box and pulled out a stick, popping it into his mouth. He savored every chocolaty drip that hit his tongue while closed the box up and leaned back in his seat. He tapped his foot on the floor and waited for something to happen.

Yui got a call and looked at the caller id. "Oh shit!" She exclaimed, practically tripping over herself to get outside before answering. "H-hello?" She stammered.

"Yui~" a sickening male voice purred over the phone. "Guess who's out early for good behavior!" Her hands started shaking and her face drained of all color.

"Oh..?" She asked shakily.

"Yes. And the first thing I'm going to do is come see you~." She was now holding the phone away from her face like it was a venomous snake. "You are the one that put me in here, you know."

"I-I've moved."

"Oh, I know. I've had a set of eyes on you for a while, now. I could tell you what you did yesterday if you need proof. I've made a couple deals in here, and I know where you are." She dropped the phone and stomped on it as if that would kill him. Oh, how she wished it could! She went back in, trying to maintain a calm appearance. That didn't work at all. She collapsed into her chair. "Looks like I need to take a vacation guys," she said. "An...old friend is coming to town. I've got to get ready for him..."

Victor raised an eyebrow and scoffed. She looked like the devil had just called and gave her an early reservation. "You okay Yui? Whats going on?" He stood up and dragged his chair next to her and sat down. He tried to act like he didn't care about how she was acting but he was concerned. "Look, whoever's got you this worked up...." He pulled out his magnum and turned to Yui, a sinister smile growing on his face. "I think I can deal with him for you. Just say the magic word."
