[Desolation] Chapter 2: Hard-held

To start off, we need to do a few moves.


First, since I forgot at the end of Chapter 1, let's to the session end move:


Choose a character who knows you better. If there's more than one, choose between them on a whim. They then get +1 Hx. If that takes them to Hx+4, they reset to Hx+1 and mark XP.


Highlighted Stats for Chapter 1 (MC's are in RED):

I think for our rumble together, Ryoma gets a +1. If I could, I'd say Bean should get one as well.

It's a tough call, but bonds formed in battle are truly the strongest. Hooper gets +1.

While we wait for the last Hx, let's do stat highlighting.


Normally, I'd ask if anyone would like to change highlighted stats as anyone can ask to do so at the beginning of a session. But, in this case, I want to and I count under the "anyone" of the move.


So, find the character on your sheet that you know best, and have them highlight a stat for you.

So wait, do we pick one that isn't high lighted right now? (Like in Ryoma's case, it'd be a choice between Hard or Weird?) Or do we get a third high lighted stat?

Fauci supposedly knows Red Bean and Hooper just as well, so not sure who highlights his stat.

No, the highlights from before get wiped away and you pick again. It can be the same as before, if that's what you choose, but you'll only have two highlighted. One from a player and one from me.

Koch: Being a combatant in the wastes isn't easy. Only the strong can do it, only the Hard.


Sister Red: Your understanding of the malestrom and the information you have gotten from it is just plain Weird


Graves: A terrifyingly beautiful monk on one hand and running a pseudo society on the other? Pretty damn Cool.


Since Buzz ain't around, the honor falls on Sister Red there.

You make your way up the wall hand over hand.


Using windows and cracks in the wall, you make short work of the climb.


And there he is.


Balls.


His ugly bald face has surprise and “scared shitless” written all over it as you hop onto the roof.


He doesn’t waste a fucking second to let the scary slasher bitch come toward him.


He pulls out his pistol and is about to start firing at you like you’re the Reaper himself.


What do you do?


Red Bean


You feel yourself get lifted and carried outside of the bar.


What do you do?


Fauci


You’re standing there after Red Bean falls to the ground bleeding from her ears.


Two of Graves’ men lift her up and carry her outside.


Gaves and Ryoma sit at Graves’ table in the bar and Hooper just went outside to get some fresh air.


What do you do?


Ryoma & Graves


Agnes walks away from the table as you see Red Bean carried off by two of the gang.


Hooper just stepped out to take care of some business and Fauci stands in the corner.


What do you do?


Koch


You kneel down and trace the wire with your eyes.


A steel box has been welded to the underside of the truck bed.


The wire runs to either side of the box where it attaches to the pins of two frag grenades, one on either side.


Not complicated, but effective as hell.


The question is, is there something you’re missing?

Well, it would be neither the first nor the last time that Mrs. Agnes would mop blood off the floor, but it would be one of the few when the blood did not drip from her cleaver. Ryoma simply relaxes next to Graves, keeping an eye out. She reasons that it's only a matter of time until some badlands faction makes an attempt on Graves' life, which she will be able to stop...


... as the Old Man taught her, the first principle of religious expansion is to convert the kings.

Hooper


Twitching and walking in the jerking, staggered fashion she used in place of running. She was going to bring him to Graves in one piece or many, a pistol was of no consequence. The machete finds itself in her hand. With each step, Balls can hear her breathing under the mask. She doesn't seems to blink or even betray any emotion in her eyes as she stalks closer to him.
