Fantasy Descendants of the Curse

Apollo exhaled slowly, closing his eyes as his mate moulded him into a formless putty, his mouth and body sliding over hers as slipping through her fingers.
"If I promise can we-" he kissed her again, breathless as he spoke,"-please stop talking."

Gaston sat as close as possible to Phiona, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist, his other hand resting gently on her knee as he whispered quiet and comforting words in his fiancee's ear.
He turned carefully back towards Phiona's mother again remaining completely stuck to the smaller woman at his side.
"We've only just made a desicion recently especially on account of the attack and harassment that this boy has inflicted upon your daughter. The attack occurred in the evening after classes where he cornered and forced himself on her. Phiona defended herself against him and the boy was electrocuted somewhat severely. She did what she had to."
Gaston said sombrely.

Amber smirked letting out a sigh of pleasure. "I suppose we could..." She murmured kissing him back deeply, she longed for this, the excitement of it all. The excitement of the kill was intense and exhilarating but this was a whole different level. Immersed in Apollo's kiss she quickly forgot what she wanted to ask from him. Instead she embraced him fully locking her lips onto his her mind let go of any other thoughts and only thought of her mate.

Phiona nodded at Gaston's words holding his hand tightly as she looked up at her mother and brothers. Lily frowned deeply listening to Gaston then looked at her youngest child. "Am I to believe him?" She asked not wanting to think such a thing could happen to her only daughter and she had to fight to keep herself from showing her emotions till she got to the bottom of this.

Phiona nearly chewing through her bottom lip nodded again. "Yes, mother. Xander had asked me to meet him after classes, where he pulled me into the darkness and forced his lips onto mine in an act I did not consent to." Tears where welling up in her eyes her small hands gripping Gaston's so tightly, her knuckles where white. "I was so stunned I reacted the only way I could and slapped him, but it ended up being more than a slap...." Her voice stilled and images of a convulsing Xander replayed in her mind and she felt terrible, but before she could explain further her 4th oldest brother stood up.

"Your fiancé surprises you with a kiss and you return his affection by using your powers on him?" There was clearly disappointment in his voice as he looked to his sister.

"Douglas please contain yourself." Lily chided her son, though you could tell she agreed with him. "Much worse a thing has happened to young women your age, you know that, my dear." The whole family knew what happened to Lily when she was Phiona's age and so for Phiona to be reacting so badly to a mere kiss seemed incredibly disrespectful to her mother.

"Yes mother I know, but you were-" Phiona started but was once again interrupted.

"Phiona, Xander did you wrong, that much is clear, but you mustn't hate him so. He couldn't have possibly known you didn't get the news of your own engagement. So try to be in his shoes for a moment in thinking the girl you love and are betrothed too feels the same, if not at least knows of the engagement." Lily said calmly, now hearing what really happened she was no longer as mad at Xander, but more so just disappointed in how things escalated.

"That's not possible." Phiona tried to protest her voice shaking as she looking from Gaston to her mother. "Xander is selfish and loves no one, even if he was mistaken he had no right to do what he did to me." Phiona protested, but was silenced by the glares her brothers gave her.

"Xander loves you, and he is a good man. Your father and I wouldn't have ever agreed to letting him marry you if he weren't." Lily said her voice sounding tired clearly signally to Phiona to stop arguing. "As for your spontaneous engagement to Mr. Forticoven here, thanks to the lack of any form of announcement, the small bit of time you've been supposedly engaged, and the fact that we know near to nothing about him. Leads me to say that we, and I speak for this family and our coven when I say this....we can not approve of this engagement, nor do we acknowledge it." Lily finished, her sons nodding in agreement.

((Time skip for the two lovebirds??))

Gaston shook his head, exasperated by the stupidity of Phiona's family. He stood, straightening his coat lapels and ascot. He extended his hand down to Phiona and looked back at her family.
"We'll be leaving now. I'll not allow you, fiancée or not, to put a young woman who currently resides in my coven at risk."

(Yes’m, also ouch, Gaston over there throwing that non-verbal shade. :coolshades:)

Phiona stood as well taking Gaston’s hand, but it was more in protest then agreement. “Gaston please, we’ve only just arrived.” She pleaded with him she knew this whole meeting so far was a disaster, but they were her family nonetheless and she hardly ever got to see them and did not want to leave things like this.

Lily remained seated frowning up at Gaston for his rudeness. “You will do no such thing.” She survived the room noticing that Phiona wasn’t to eager to leave she continued. “Have you no shame insulting my family? I have half I mind to remove her from your coven, as it is the very place this event that’s traumatized her so took place in. So I’m sorry but it is you and your coven who is putting my daughter at risk. Not this family, her family.”

Phiona didn’t say anything for sometime as she herself had entertained the idea of leaving the coven, the only thing keeping her there anymore was Gaston. “Father should be here soon, please stay, if only long enough to speak with him.” Her large brown eyes looking up into his, She didn’t enjoy this anymore than he did, she simply needed to find a way to diffuse the situation.

"Have you no shame?!"
Gaston retorted quickly, tired of attempting to make nice. As a coven leader and a father he could not believe that this woman could possibly be in her right mind.
"Have no shame in just handing off your only daughter to her near rapist?"
Gaston scoffed and looked down at Phiona, the entirety of his mind swimming and confused.
"I will speak to your father- hopefully speak some sense into him and the rest of this household."

Lilly stared at Gaston her mouth agape in shock at Gaston’s manners. Phiona frowned surprised Gaston was so unapologetic, then looked to her family her brothers looked at her with such disappointment it made her heart ache then to see her mother and the tears forming in her eyes. Phiona couldn’t stand to be in this room anymore, looking away from her family she quickly grasped Gaston's hand and pulling him with her. As they left she could hear her mother crying.

She didn’t know where they were going, just away from the disappointed glares of her family. At first she thought about going to her room but she knew that would look bad so instead she lead Gaston outside. The backyard was surprisingly barren compared to the extremely decorative manor. Yet it was tasteful and full of an assortment of animals, all the same as the animals from the stained glass windows.

Tears seeped into Phiona’s eyes as she traveled through the yard ignoring the small yorkshire terrier that immediately started following them. Without a word she pushed into her family’s glass greenhouse and fell to the ground her head in her hands crying. There was so much going on in her mind right now crying was all she could do. She was mad at her family for engaging her to Xander, disappointed in Gaston for how he spoke to her family, and all the emotions of the past days were rekindled in her and made her feel sick. “How could you? How could they?” She whimpered her black hair coming undone and her lilac gown torn and dirtied from the days events. Outside the greenhouse the small dog sat there watching them his sad eyes glowing an unnatural pink. The same color as Lily’s magic.

The outside of the house was far less fascinating than inside— less to focus on other than Phiona which he felt desperate to avoid. He felt embarrassed by his behaviour but even more so by her family and felt as though he should comfort her or apologize or—
He wasn’t quite sure. Perhaps he was better at this when he was younger. Perhaps this is why his marriage fell through, whatever the case he wasn’t exactly sure what to say but feared that if he said nothing the results would be far worse.
He stood awkwardly mere feet from her, his holds folded in front of him and sighed heavily before speaking.
“I can’t say I’m sorry, Phiona. What they’re doing to you is unacceptable. How they’re acting. If Elizabeth was near rap—“ he paused and swallowed, “assaulted I would not be so eager as they are to marry her to the pig!”

Xander had been declared innocent of the charges against him and though his friends, other classmates and teachers congratulated him, but he pushed past them and continued on his way to his room, packing his things readying to leave.

During his trial he was bombarded with questions about Phiona, their relationship, why he did it, why she might have done it, and more. He had been asked so many questions, but now he had questions of his own.

Looking at a mirror in his room he saw there was a red mark in the shape of a starburst on his cheek where Phiona had slapped him. According to Mary it would fade within the week, but he didn’t care, he wanted Phiona to see it. More than that he just wanted to see her. He hadn’t gotten the chance to speak with her other than the other day and obviously that didn’t end well. Finishing packing up his things he grabbed his hat and the letters Phiona’s mother had sent him. They were letters explaining the engagement, asking about his day, and some simply telling him to speak with Phiona.

Well today he would do just that, making his way to the train station he should make it there in a few hours. He was one of the few witches that used human’s modes of transportation, but he didn’t care, trains were much faster than any carriage and certainly more reliable than teleportation spells. So getting on the train and putting away his luggage he sat down and readied himself to take a nap.

“I know....I know.....” she muttered her voice quivering. She was honestly surprised that Gaston mentioned his black sheep of a daughter, but that didn’t help as she thought back to her mother crying as they left. “But...christ sakes Gaston.” Her voice broke looking up at him trying to dry her eyes. “If you want me to marry you don’t belittle my own family in front of me!” She stood up her dark lashes wet and her nose and cheeks red from her crying. “And please stop making it seem like he raped me, it was bad enough what he did to me, but I don’t need you reminding me and making people think it was worse that it already was. Please!” Her lip was bleeding and her body was shaking, but she turned away from him unable to look at him anymore. “I love you Gaston I do, but...” she shook her head rubbing her hands over her face trying to stop herself from crying. “This is not how I wanted this to go.” She let out a trembling sigh looking out at her family home, but watched Gaston in the reflection of the green house’s glass.

Gaston scoffed and shook his head, rubbing his hand across his face as he paced now.
How could she be so angry at him? He had been defending her!
“Yes, yes and I very much wanted it to turn out this way, Phiona. Planned for it actually.”
He retorted and closed his eyes shut quickly, shaking his head once more. He was absolutely out of his mind.
“Perhaps I should leave then. You can chat with your fiancé about how you’d like me to phrase the severity his attack— no I’m sorry his romantic interludes— better?”

“Gaston!?” Phiona spun around horrified by the way he was acting. “You know that is not what I meant.” She argued the feeling of betrayal boiling inside her. Why was he turning on her like this? He had always seemed like such a gentleman but now it seemed his true colors were revealing themselves. “Why are you acting like this, I understand your annoyance with my family but why are you being so crude towards me?” He demanded yet her voice sounded more like she was pleading with him than anything. “This is not like you Gaston.” She muttered looking up at him seeing the look on his face made her feel like the scum of the earth. He was so brash and uncivil now she wondered if the man she fell in love with was ever truly real or if he was just a guise that Gaston used to hide his true self.

“I am sorry that things didn’t go as planned for you Phiona but I don’t enjoy putting myself in a position where I could lose my position and then have your family and yourself defend— Xander of all people! I have given up a lot coming here and you seem to think this was some sort of pleasure cruise. We came here to meet with your family and I tried my damndest but they just won’t listen to reason!”

“How dare you accuse me of defending him!” Phiona retorted sounding angrier than she meant to, But she no longer cared. She bit her already raw lip holding back the frustrated words that we’re fighting to come out. “I am just sick of being reminded what he did to me.... We came here so we could be together without worry of being prosecuted. We both knowingly took a risk coming here, so I’m sorry that my family is so unreasonable, and I’m sorry the risk you take to be with me was so worthless to you!” She clenched her fists turning on her heel glaring at the small dog that had been barking and scratching at the glass. “Leave us mother!” She exclaimed pushing a bag of fertilizer in front of the dog to block it’s view. Something that she normally wouldn’t have the strength to do, it was her emotion driven adrenaline that was to thank.

“And you are so quick to condemn me! This is foolish and nonsensical! I can’t possibly understand how you can be so angry with me of all people!”

“I am not angry at you!” Phiona yelled back, only to halt herself right there. She was indeed mad at him, but she didn’t know why. Yes he insulted her and her family but this argument was pointless and was only creating a rift between them for no good reason. The only problem wAs she didn’t know how to go back and fix this now. “Gaston.... I-...... We should....” She bit her now numb lip trying to calm her heart beat and relax. There was no point in them fighting this needed to stop. “I- I’m sorry, Gaston, tell what I can do to fix this.” she said once her nerves had calmed though she was sure she knew what Gaston would say.

“Phiona-“
Gaston sighed and shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck all the while.
“Phiona you ought to tell your family what you want. You need to stand up for yourself.”

(Meanwhile: Elizabeth)

“What’s happened to your hair?” One of the pubs regulars asked Elizabeth quite bluntly as she poured the man a drink.

“I stopped coloring it.” Elizabeth muttered avoiding looking the not yet drunk man in the eye, but instead unconsciously tucking back a mixed black and blonde lock of hair behind her ear. For as long as she had worked there she had been dying the blonde in her hair black so she wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb. She hated that it made her look more like her brother and Gaston, but it was easier than trying to make the black a pale blonde.

“Really?” The man downed his drink. “Why?”

“Can’t afford it no more, that’s all.” Elizabeth explained refilling his glass then putting away the bottle and moving to help another patron. There was many things she couldn’t afford anymore, but that didn’t stop the bills from needing payment or her body from needing food and warmth. This was just the first of many soon to come.

“You know if you need a quick coin, I have a few things you can do to earn it.” Another said making inappropriate gestures with a sickeningly sly grin. “Though it’ll involve you an’ me an’ a fistful of that queer hair of your’s, if you know what mean~.” he laughed a strange barking sort of laugh and Elizabeth gave him an empty mock laugh then rolled her eyes.

“I like it.” A soft German accent said on the opposite side of the counter and Elizabeth immediately recognized it. It was the voice of Wilhelm born in Germany and raised for the most part here and thanks to his growing up around people who’s accents were completely different that his, his own accent was hardly noticeable. “It is unique und beautiful, like ein black rose.”

Elizabeth blushed casting a glance over at Wilhelm, his light brown hair and matching eyes were a much appreciated change from the predominantly black hair of the people around here. Though Wilhelm didn’t live around here he came in often enough for Elizabeth to get acquainted with him on a very “personal” level, but she didn’t want the other patrons knowing that or else they would start to think that she’s open for business and that they too would get the same service.

So instead she rolled her eyes and gave him the same laugh she gave everyone else, though this time it was sincere.

(I’m just building up the story for what I have planned for her.)

Phiona let out a deep sigh wiping the blood off her bottom lip. She looked back at her home, her mother’s and Gaston’s words conflicting in her head and not helping her decide what she wanted. She knew Gaston wanted her to marry him, and her family wanted her to marry Xander, and she thought she knew she wanted to marry Gaston but after this she wasn’t sure anymore. Phiona didn’t say anything for some time before finally looking back at Gaston. “I want to marry you Gaston...” She said taking his advice and finally attempting to stand up for herself. “On one condition.” She gestured the number one symbol as if to emiphasize she had only one important demand to make to her fiancé.

Gaston’s quick smile at her wanting to marry him slowly dropped and accompanied his furrowed his brow as he looked at her in quiet confusion.
“And what will that one condition be?”
He asked, trying not to be too short with her. He wasn’t the one who needed conditions and restrictions he thought to himself as his mind still stuck sourly on her family’s behaviour.

Phiona’s own brow furrowed at his reaction and she stepped closer to him her big brown eyes not leaving his shimmering golden ones. “Be polite to my family. Starting with you apologizing to my mother. I don’t care if my family demands that Xander and I be wed on the spot or even if they insist that the sun is purple and that drinking arsenic is good for your health. You will be nice in front of them and then we will politely take our leave after the fact.” Phiona said her voice unwavering. “I want to be with you, but I can’t be with some who belittles my family so.”

Gaston clenched his fists and turned away from her. Pacing the length of the greenhouse as he went.
“Can you please explain to me why we can’t possibly leave at this very moment? Before they marry you off to another?”

Phiona sighed at his stubbornness. "Because they are my family, I haven't seen my mother in months and my father has been out of the country for over a year." She said sad that he didn't seem to understand that part of this. "You know you didn't have to come." She reminded him but then sighed stepping to him and taking his clenched fist in her hands stopping his pacing. "But I'm glad you did." She gave him a gentle smile. "I literally do not know how I would have survived without you." She with lighter humor though reminding herself of all that blood made her feel a bit queasy.

Gaston lowered his gaze to look down on her. He hated that he could not deny her and simply get on their horses and ride away. He wanted to make her happy but still couldn’t see how staying and battling for her freedom with her dim witted siblings and mother could possibly make her happy.
“You are a clumsy girl, always cutting yourself on sky fallen wardrobes.”
He chuckled lowly.
