Deathlords far fouler and devious: The GM Deathlords!

I'd assume the raw ores, yet to be soulforged with a hapless ghost...

Even then, aren't they only found in the Labyrinth?

When the Neverborn made her their offer, she hesitated for many years, and travelled (in keeping with her previous caste) for hundreds of years,
But I remember meeting her IC in that game.

Hundreds of years?

How much have I missed?

You misunderstand. The Deathlord is the sould of Aesha's previous Exaltation.

As to soulsteel, the process of making soulsteel involves ore mined from the labyrinth, into which souls are hammered.

And to forestall questions, in Autocthon the souls are instead hammered into Autocthon's own metal. This makes his metal fundamentally different, if you think about it, as he's alive. It also means that as a last resort, the Autocthonians might be able to mass-soulforge themselves to give a boost of building material to their god, to keep him ticking over for a while more.

It'd all be soulsteel though. Maybe he's go a bit mad from the imbalance.

Maybe that's a reason why Autochthon's reservoir of souls is running out faster than planned. :|

Me?

Or him?

Me, you can't handle the truth.

Him, just hunt down his IP, trace it back to his residence, follow him around, hanging out in the same places until you befriend him, then ask him yourself.

If he's one of the Irish brood' date=' he should stand and be counted![/quote']
Nah, the should confine himself to his island and refrain from breeding, like the rest of his lot. That's what he should do.

Damned Irish.

It sounds like you are in favor of the paper 'A modest proposal' where a solution to the Irish 'problem' is offered: Raise them as foodstock and eat them.  It puts new meaning to the term 'baby back ribs'

I was on your side until you started eating the Irish... ;_;

When will the persecution end?!

The Irish invented nukes in the 1800s. It was our compassion for the world that forced us to decommission them.

And look what came of it.

I'll see all the Irish dead, or my name isn't Brian O'Donnell!

I think the Irish have killed more Irish than any invaders could have, if you don't count the famine as a massacre. So you're not far off the reality of things.

Incidentally I'll ask ol' Charlie to stop ressurecting, but no promises. Anyway, many of them have become fruitful discussions. The Irish win again in the field of innovation and discovery.

Most Deathlords that I know of, would have little or no problem with "A Modest Proposal". In fact I bet the largest objection would be, not that their populace is being eaten, but that their populace is eating.

Wow this thread is ancient old... but to add to it, I've played in two games with custom Death Lords. Both were unfortunately very cheseey, and were actually kinda lame.

The first was simply called "The Fourteenth Sin" He probably had a longer more drawnout name, but we the defending Solars didn't really care. He was the 'dreaded 14th deathlord' and his shtick was capturing Solars alive and shooting them with mind-warp lazers or something and making them work for him. He didn't own any Abyssals, only Solars (which is twinky because he has like 5) and a butt-ton of undead and ghosts. He operates out of the Mid south east (Around Larjin) and personally takes a hand in capturing his Solar pets.

The second and more recent Death Lord was called The Pale Rider, and he takes the appearance of a Grim-Reaper dressed in white with a bone scythe, no features, but when he moves he makes sounds like wailing dead. He's the type that will help anyone for a fee, and his fees are pretty hefty. In our game one of our PCs sold the soul of an NPC solar so he could live longer. (bad, bad eclipse) and The Pale Rider was more than happy to do such a thing, for a price. He seems like a reasonable person, the characters haven't had to deal with him too much since then so I couldn't really tell you how many abyssals or ghosts he has yet... I'll get back to you on that.

As for cannon Deathlords I always favor using the Lover Clad, or the Dowager, or The Walker in Darkness. We don't use MoW because everyone already knows his stats and we have horrible meta-gamers in our group. Nor do we use FaFL because we don't go that way often enough. Mostly it's been eastern games...

I'm offended. :x

How dare he resemble my appearance.  That dirty little scuz ball.

I also suffer from rules-lawyering and metagaming, and if something like this ever came up I'd just change it and give anyone with complaints the finger. A certain player of mine was considering killing the Bull of the North just because he'd seen his character sheet. Guaranteed he wouldn't have that character sheet if they went after him, he'd be far, far different and with a lot more dangerous stuff under the hood as punishment for metagaming.

As to the Mask? The template they give for a first age solar ghost with all known Solar and Abyssal charms is pretty lame. Where are all his essence 6+ charms?

I assume he can cancel charms for a mote cost equal to the essence of the individual in question, and can steal some stupid amounts of essence upon a successful hit. His hits will also be successful, flawlessly, because he has a scenelong perfect attack charm and will cancel any perfect defences. He doesn't spend willpower on sorcery actions, either, and all of them are 5 ticks faster than normal (Effectively one less shaping action is taken.).

Add as desired to this template. He's a deathlord.
