Farseer to the Warsong Clan
In 1864, a die-hard Confederate doctor in Andersonville, Georgia named Victor Emmanuel ended the world. Victor, a long-time hobbyist alchemist, had been experimenting on Union prisoners in efforts to restore crippled and wounded Confederates to fighting condition. Instead, his experiments and maddened arcane experimentation raised the dead, sundered the veil between earth and hell, and cast the western hemisphere into oblivion.
Led by horrific and apparently sentient monstrosities, the 10,000 prisoners-turned-zombies of Camp Sumpter were unleashed on the Confederacy with its troops facing northward. It spread like any other epidemic, but borne by tooth and claw under the hot Southern sun. Confederate troops defected to the north en masse when they saw the undead hordes marching behind them, and the border states fell as Union forces fled in disarray. President Lincoln (who remains in office for three terms before retiring) ordered the turncoat Confederates and Unions to retreat, drawing a defensive line just south of the Capital. Ever since, the guns and cannons have continued to roar unabated. The North holds, an impenetrable fog hangs over the South, and the West falls to chaos as the roving hordes cross the Mississippi and surge forward in a screaming and running storm of teeth and rotten flesh.
The year is 1869, and the mining town of Aspen Vale, Colorado, has just received a telegram from the Governor's office in Denver - "The wall has fallen, and the Guard has failed. God Have Mercy On Us All."

Dead West, if you hadn't figured out by now, is a historical fantasy RP centered on a zombie apocalypse occurring towards the end of the American Civil War. Characters will be occupants of a decently sized town in Colorado that finds itself under-prepared when the hordes arrive, struggling to survive now that all hell has broken loose.
The game will feature a variety of action, town management, and survival elements, as well as an informal "Characteristics and Skills" system. If you're interested, please comment below!
