Dark Innocence (1x1 Guardia and PRSCB)

(Shank you)

I leaned into her touch but too quick did she pull away. Her blood raced through my blood and if she had taken from me as well, we'd be considered mates at the time being. Geez, that was close! For some reason, he expected someone else..."Fine," I sighed and opened the door, anything for my baby doll," I teased as I grabbed my tee from the counter and closed the door behind us.

Mysti

Taking my cue from him, I swiftly scale a tree and balance precariously on one of the branches. I took a breath, then imitating what Erik had taught me a long time ago, howled. It was the signature way of calling for our pack. My voice cut through the night, crisp and distinctly feminine. I was a 'good howler,' according to Erik. Whatever. Daemons and weres started peeling our from shadows, Dark Faeries floating down and vampires dropping from trees. I swung back down flipping neatly in the air before landing next to Erik

I flash her a smile and pull on my shirt. But, a few females had already seen, had smelt the Wolf musk on me was thick and rumbled as they rubbed their muzzles against my ankles to give them attention. To seek them as a mate. "Anyone up for a run?" I grin brightly, crossing my arms. "I've lasted too long without bonding with my favorite Pack," he teased, bumping his hip against Mysti's.

I look contemptuously at the sniveling weres begging for his attention, reveling it eh power of knowing I already had his. I looked at him, my glossy lips reflecting the moon. "catch me and I'll- hm,- bond with more," I said suggestively before whooping and tearing off into the woods. A group of my friends, all beautiful females, raced after me- we were commonly referred to as The Femme Fatales of the pack. We slid under logs and leaped over rocks easily, laughing as we somehow managed bits and pieces of conversation.

Erik watched her leap away, smiling fondly. The females followed after her, a few of his closer males sticking. He bent over, the shift starting. His Human found it painful but Wolf found it comforting. His bones shifted closer together, clicking. His breath came out in steam as he raised his head, a mammoth Black Wolf. He raced forward, amber eyes slitted like a cat, a dangerous pleasure in his long strides, eating the ground as if it was nothing.

I saw Erik edging up behind me, and shouted to my friends, "Take to the trees!" We sprang up, the faint traces of bat blood (ancient vamps could shift completely) giving us an affinity to the air. I grabbed a branch and monkey-bar-ed my way across a couple trees before jumping up into a branch, jumping from tree to tree. My body stretched, it's sinewy, lean, athletic silhouette sharply lining the moon. I swung down, dropping an rolling once I hit the ground before cracking into a run.

My Wolf panted, something dark and sinister about how he sped faster than the others, strong, faster, more dominant. He leapt clear over a log and then some, his huge paws landing him in front of a semi that was going 80 on the highway. He looked up, and Erik's human eyes flashed in front of the amber and there was the crash. It had thrown him nearly a mile from the road, his body broken and battered. Blood, bones just a mess of fur. Nothing left of their Alpha. When all thought him dead, he let out a huff from God knows where. The truck had crashed feet away, the front nearly torn off by the impact of such a heavy duty creature.

I shrieked without meaning too, sprinted over to Erik, clearing the mile in a minute. I knelt next to him, smoothing his fur. "Honey? Wolf? Erik? Are you okay?!" I said desperately, holding his broken body. What did I do? I glared at my pack members, and we lifted hum up gingerly, his hulking figure a dead weight on out arms. We managed over to his cottage, and I ordered the others out sharply. "Everyone! Out!" I hissed as we laid him on the couch. I slammed the door shut before looking back worriedly at Erik, my eyes becoming red with my blood tears. I knew he couldn't shift back into his human form until I was gone. I went over to him to stroke his fur. "I'm sorry- I'll get Calissa, she'll make you better- she has to." With that, I darted out of the cottage, my legs pumping beneath me to get to the school as fast as I possibly could.

Calissa

I was sitting dutifully in an Herbal Medications Lecture, but while I took notes and participated dutifully, my mind lingered on Erik. I had spoken to my parents, and they were beyond relieved to see me. We had a family reunion breakfast, and then lunch, then I returned for Sunday extracurricular classes. Maybe that was the last time I would ever see Erik- maybe it was just a night of fun and- "Calissa!!" I heard misty shout as the door banged open. I rose to my feet, alarm already ringing in my head. "What?" I asked nervously. "It's Erik. Car accident. Well, truck accident." I looked at my teacher, who had a faintly shocked expression on his face. "It's an urgent medical patient of mine- bipolar disorder, slight personality crisis." He nodded, face clearing up in a sort of relief- he understood medicine. "Good luck, Calissa- out to use the class material!" I grabbed my notebook and flapped my wings, darting out of class. "What took you so long!!!???" Mysti raged quietly at me. "I'm sorry- I couldn't just leave!" I said. "He's in the house- he should have shifted back to normal. Pray he isn't still the wolf!" I nodded , then took to the airline. I flew swiftly, riding the winds as I had learned in flight class. Sometimes school helped. I blinked as my blue eyes starte dot flow and my aura brightened as I crossed into the Nighttime of Dark territory. I looked urgently for Erik's house, found it, then swooped in through an open window, latching it shut behind me as I fluttered through the air nervously. "Erik?" I called anxiously. "Is that you or The Wolf? Are you hurt?"

I had shifted back and oh god did it hurt. I had screamed, cried, begged for death. But in the end, my human body was left in ragged chunks on my living room floor. I looked horrible. My arms had been twisted in awkward and broken positions, my chest torn open and my heart nearly beating out of my chest, some of my innards falling out onto the carpet. I nearly threw up and shoved them back in and the wound closed but was still ragged and nasty. My clothes looked to be nothing on my battered body. Tears made rivets through my bloody face but they came from my humanly green eyes (I think they're green but now they are so ha). "Cal-C-C-" I sputtered, bloody spilling from my lips. Oh god, I was dying. I was dying. My Pack needed a better Alpha anyways and Calissa could do better than me. So much. I could hear her and I wanted to tell her to go. To let me die. But I couldn't speak. It hurt too much.

Calissa

I choked, gasping in shock, before regaining composure and smoothing out my face. *Panic psyches the patient- the worst thing you can do is scare the patient. More blood will flow,* I remember from a lecture. *Act normal- comfort the patient. You need the adrenaline rush to die down.* I had taken Advanced Wound and War Injury Healing class- I could do this. I flew over to him, and said in a calm voice, "Shh. Don't try to talk, don't think about dying. You'll lose more blood, and that' the last thing we need. Just look at me." I stared into his green eyes and connected with his aura- it was beating strong, trying to stay alive. Thank goodness. I touched my finger lightly to his forehead, ignoring the blood. "Your brain is fine. Just calm down0 the adrenaline won't help. You might feel sometingliong near your chest- don't panic. It might hurt a bit more, but at this point, you won't be able to tell pain from more pain- your receptors are already overloaded. Don't touch your innards either- germs." I took a breath, then got to work- my willowy fingers worked at putting his heart back into it's proper place, then I used some of my Aura to secure it. I took pieces of bone that were hanging off and reassembled them, my hands perpetually glowing as I stitched together the severe parts. In places where there weren't any bone or the meat was lost, I left the space blank to deal with later. I was just reassembling his innards first- that was the most important thing right now. My aura soothed out the pain, and then dulled the pain receptors so that it was more of a perpetual dull ache around his wounds than a throbbing, sharp agony. As I worked, i told hi what I was doing in a strangely relaxed voice, as if I was unfazed my the situation. "Your lucky Mysti called me- you'd hardly be alive. Shifting was silly of you but it certainly made the job easier for me. That weird stretchy thing your feeling is just me pushing back your stomach and rearranging your appendix and kidney- this is me reattaching your rib here. Don't move until I say so, just relax best you can. You'll be okay." I kept a steady stream of Majick coursing through him as a temporary replacement for blood.

I stayed still, nearly shaking out of fear. Not for me but for her. My blood could hurt her. Not if she was my mate though...I let those thoughts rush in place of my other ones that consisted of death and misery. "Cal-" I stopped, my jaw still shattered. It hurt but it didn't hurt like before. Oh, she was too good to me. I should be healing pretty fast but my Wolf was once more fast asleep. Oh..."Mysti?" I managed to choke, the name familiar yet strange on my tongue. I knew her....I think.

Calissa

"Don't think. Sh. I'll restore your memories later. You'll find that remembering certain members of your pack, and your family, will be gone. Don't worry- the important thing is that I fix you up." I moved my hands up to his jaw and breathed inwardly in relief- the bone was absolutely broken, but everything was in place. I sealed the jawboned back as one, then rearranged the tissue before weaving new skin with my hands from his Aura, setting it over his skin and seamlessly connecting it to the rest of him. "How did this happen?' I ask before I started putting together the skin on his legs and his bones. "You can find you can talk now. I fixed your head and your vocal chords- your lungs are good enough to breath too. I've covered your chest with a layer of Magiskin, but until I can replace it with real skin, try not to touch it. You might not want to look at it either- it's a little gruesome." True- his chest was wide open, his heart beating wide open, hi organs protected only by the thin sheet of Magic. To me, though, it was beautiful. His innards were perfect, strong, and strange.

I gasped for air, not needing her to warn me about how I looked. "Tr-Truck...I think. I was...running. Truck hit me...I-I don't know how fast but...it hurt," I managed to spit out bits and pieces of my thoughts, it hurting to think back to it. "W-Wolf...I was a Wolf...I wasn't...thinking right..." I realized in horror. My Wolf had gone full out, barreling ahead and snapping at my own pack mates. It was sick, sadistic and twisted. "You should just let me d-die. I don't know what's wrong with...me. I hurt...the others," I groaned, able to speak but not fully. I raised my hand, ready to plunge it straight through the Magiskin and end it.

Calissa

My hand snapped up, grabbing this. "No," I said quietly. "There is no way that I am letting you die under my watch. How about we talk instead?" I set his hand down, my glowing fingers repairing the torn ligaments and shattered bones in his hands. "Don't worry about your pack mates. They're Darks, hardened to this type of abuse- almost craving it. You're a little different, but I won't be able to tell you why until I delve into your mind later- with your permission of course." I stood up, heading got the cupboard. "You have scissors here, right?" I asked before finding them. "Never mind." I walked over to him and resumed my cross-legged position. "Is this a weird situation to be in?" I asked curiously, my voice still weirdly cool and collected, vaguely lacking in my usual emotion and shyness.

"Cal...How can you stand to be around me? I kill my own kind when they disobey. I'm wanted for multiple murder accounts in the Human world and I nearly let my Pack tear you to bits..." I close my eyes, breathing easier. I didn't fight her so I let my arm drop to my side. The pain was subsiding but There should have never been an incident where I attack the innocent. I nearly had Mysti kill me when I got drunk and killed a Human. "Y-You should know by now that you have my permission..." I sigh.

Calissa

I calmly took a lock of my glowing golden white hair and snipped it off so a section of my hair was only up to my ear. My hair continued to glow in my hands ask I started intricately weaving them together. "Don't mind my hair," I say dismissively before he started asking. "I can stand to be around you because I think you are a good person. The fact I like you probably factors in." I gently lifted off his Magiskin and lifted up my finished work of hair- it wasn't real hair anymore. I had weaved it into the perfect replica of a rib that was missing. It was hard as bone, but a little lighter. It still glowed softly, as I had secretly implanted a bit of my soul into it. "Mind if I put this inside you as a replacement of the rib you lost along the way?"

I laugh softly yet nervously. What was...how did it do that?! "N-No...It's alright," I whisper, half telling myself more than her. I close my eyes, needing desperately to just sleep. But I couldn't. I could feel the magic inside me, yet my Dark blood wasn't fighting it as much as it should be. I should be throwing it up, rejecting it but instead my veins merely gave off a dull burn. Slightly soothing...

Calissa

I gently set the hair/bone against his crack, and with a short whizzing sound, they fixed perfectly. "This is going to feel weird," I told him in warning. I gently pinched my fingers around his ripped skin, my thumb underneath his skin, pressing against his lung, and my index finger on the external skin. Then, I whispered, "With pinch of one, the blood won't run." In my head, I made a quick good luck spell, hoping I wouldn't screw this up, before deliberately and quickly pulling the skin. Just as i'd hoped, more skin unspooled from the rip, and I whispered, "With pull of two, the skin is new." I gently set it against th e rip on the other side of his chest, then said softly, "With connection three, I bind thee." THe skin weaved together seamlessly, as if It had never been cut. "With wave of four, let's add more." I swept my hand over his smooth new skin, and all his features once again sprang back into place- his chest hair, his tan, his ruddiness. I drew it from the past, my aura stretching behind me and pulling back features from before the accident until he looked like nothing happened. I sighed in relief. "With spell of five, This magic will bind." I snapped my fingers, and the glow died down. "Your done. You can move around now," I told him quietly, suddenly exhausted.

Instead of standing, I pulled her to my chest. I panted, surprised I was even alive. "Thank you..." I whispered, eyes wide with both fear and amazement. She was perfect...nothing could stop her. Well, maybe some drunk Darks but she had him for protection. "Calissa, I promise you, I'll make this up to you one say. I promise," I whisper, nearly silent.

I buried my head against his chest, listening to the heart I had seen just moments before. "You don't have to. Your worth it." I took deep breaths, trying to regain some auric energy- that was the most i'd done ever. My professional exterior fell apart, and I swallowed back tears that had somehow sprung from inside. "I-I-" I swallowed. "I thought you were going to die, I thought I wouldn't save you and that you would be it and that I failed," I sobbed, still covered in his drying blood.

I sighed and pulled her up, kissing her. It wasn't one of desire or lust though. It was love. I then realized hoe I felt for her. I barely knew this little girl and I loved her. I didn't know if she felt the same or if she was fearful of him but I kept it in my heart, burning my body in a pleasant burn. My heart raced and I sighed happily.
