Fantasy Cursed Island

Sal chuckled. "Heh, stay alive, at least."

"That'll do." The wolf reached into his pocket before tossing them a piece of wood carved into the shape of a coin. "Here. Proof of my approval." He sat back down. "So I don't have to walk out there to say it myself."

"I will," Jalin nodded, "I hope to see you again soon." He disconnected the call and leaned back in his chair, thinking.

Turac reached out to catch the wooden token, "I see."

"Thanks," Siege smiled and patted her brother on the back, "Let's go." Now they just had to find out what other paperwork might be involved. Hopefully it was more straightforwards than... literally everything else so far.

Roy staggered a bit from the pat before going with the others back to the front desk. Once the coin was presented, the receptionist shuffled some of her papers around. "Will you be registering as a team or as individuals?"

The receptionist nodded and started writing. “I’ll need each of your names as well as a name for your team.”

Siege and Turac both looked at Nidia. As the bard, she seemed like she would have the easiest time naming the party.

Roy and Emilia likewise ended up looking at Nidia. Nidia was clearly caught off guard, as it took her a few nervous moments to reply. "Er... Shuffle?"

Roy raised an eyebrow before he sighed. "I hate how fitting that is..."

Nidia shrugged. “You put me on the spot and that’s what came to mind first.”

Emilia spoke up. “Now now, we can still discuss it together and come up with something else.”

She gave a nod. "Of course. I'll be here." She set their paper aside and returned to her other work.

Siege nodded and pulled the others out of the way, "Okay, seriously, we need a name."

"You said you've done this before," Turac pointed out.

"I registered as an individual, this is my first party adventure!" Siege looked at Nidia, "Please tell me you've got something better than Shuffle!"

"Who else is good with words?", Siege looked around at the others, "Someone, say something?"

Turac looked around the group. Arachne, two half chimeras, a dragon turtle, a leopard beastkin, a living skeleton, a paper dragon in someone's bag, and a hemomancer back at the inn. "We are a rare mix." He shook his head, and gestured to someone's amulet, "Why not call Jalin? He may have a suggestion."

Jalin answered his amulet quickly, "Did something happen, Sal?"

"Hey, this is us," Siege spoke up. Jalin went silent.

Emilia leaned in with a cheeky grin as Roy cleared his throat. "We're registering as a team at the guild, but we need to come up with a team name. We're all rather stumped, so we were wondering if you had any ideas."

"Why do you need a team name?"

"Because humanoids favor simple names to collectively-"

"Yes, Turac, I am familiar with naming conventions. Why do we need one."

"Because the guild lady asked for one."

Jalin sighed, counting something out on his fingers. "How often do we intend to use this guild?"

Roy shrugged. "I'm not certain. But in the event that we need to wait for something again, it will be good to have a place to go for some quick work. Pass the time and earn some money in the process."

So, essentially while the party searched for leads, the guild would be their income. "How many of us are draconic again?", he asked.

"Me, Roy, Turac, and Sinach," Siege nodded.

Jalin thought for a bit, before saying, "Drekasteinn." He made sure to spell it out if anyone was writing it down. Roy and Emilia immediately recognized that as a low branch of infernal for Dragon Stone."

Emilia glanced at the others. "Well, it's fitting."

Roy nodded. "And not terribly obvious. Shall we go with that then?"

"I don't know what it means," Siege shrugged.

"Sounds like something mom would come up with," Turac smirked, "Sounds good to me."

Roy looked at Siege. "It means Dragon Stone."

The receptionist was looking at them as it sounded like they'd made a decision.
