Fantasy Cursed Island

"Okay," Jerry nodded, that was valid, "I'm gonna show you something." She took out one of her daggers, "Take this."

"It's a display of affection to your romantic partner," Adran tried to figure out how he was going to explain the rest if Shuffle asked.

Raine looked at the dagger before reaching out to take it.

The look on Shuffle’s face made it clear she didn’t understand, but she was trying. “Ah... I know what partner is, I think, but not the rest.”

Jerry stood back up, "What I'm going to teach is the general locations on a body where a kill will be quick if not immediate." She did explain that not every creature had the same exact locations of major organs, and if she couldn't reach deep enough to damage those organs what Jerry was about to teach her wouldn't help her at all.

"Don't worry about it," Adran nodded and ruffled Shuffle's hair, "I'll tell you when it matters."

Raine nodded, listening as she held the dagger like a proper weapon.

Emil spoke up. “Do you mean say you think she’s too young to know about love?”

"Good." Jerry pointed out those areas on her own body, "I've got an armor enchantment, so you won't be able to hurt me, give it a shot."

That wasn't what Adran said at all. "I said 'when it matters' not 'when you're older'. I thought you were good with words."

Raine nodded and considered it for a moment. Being as short as she was, she went for the lowest points first.

Shuffle spoke up. "That's what I thought you meant, I was about to get mad." She paused. "Actually, I'm still mad. I wanna know now! I'm tired of waiting just to learn new things!"

As Jerry had said, the armor enchantment on her ring prevented Raine from actually making contact with all of the artieries that would have quickly had Jerry bleeding out. Jerry hadn't pointed out arteries specifically so much as parts of the body where blood flows through in high traffic, making it quite easy to predict where to go to make something bleed out rapidly. "Good," Jerry nodded, "Do you still have your badge? You'll need to be taller to hit the rest."

Adran frowned, "I'll tell you why only if you promise you're not going to get upset."

"Oh, right." Raine looked down for the badge. "How does it work again?"

"I'll be more upset if you don't tell me."

"Pin it, smack it," Jerry explained, then she realized Raine had now clothes. It was Shuffle all over again, "How did I never realize you were still naked?"

Adran sighed, "Fine." He pinched the bridge of his nose, "There are things we adults talk about that you just don't have the experience or the understanding to grasp properly, and if I did what would be needed to give you that experience and understanding rapidly, I'd be a bigger monster than anything in this dungeon. So until you gain that experience and understanding naturally, you're too young or it doesn't matter."

Raine looked up at Jerry and shrugged. "I don't know. It's not strange for me."

Shuffle sat quietly as she thought about that before Emil spoke again. "In other words, it's not so much about waiting. It's more that you need to learn other things first, and the best way to do that is for you to learn them on your own."

"...oh."

"Well, we're gonna have to resolve that or you're gonna get piercings of you want to be able to use that badge," Jerry shook her head, at least Raine's anatomy wasn't as out in the open as everyone else. Reptiles were different from mammals, and most of the group was mammals. "I think, yeah, actually," Jerry ducked back into her tent for the bag of holding, "A while back Erina gave the other me a scarf, it should do the same job," she offered the spidersilk scarf to Raine.

"That's a more graceful way to put it, yeah." Adran nodded.

Raine looked over and took the scarf. It seemed a bit long to her, but it was made for someone bigger, so that made sense. She then started trying to wrap it around her chest.

Emil nodded as well. "So, one day you will know what you need, and then you'll get to learn about the things you're so curious of."

Shuffle was quiet for a few moments before she nodded. "Alright."

"Ah, not quite," Jerry knelt down and helped Raine put the scarf on as a scarf, with the side effect that it went down her back like a cape. It ended up sitting on her shoulders more like a shawl than a scarf, but it did perform it's job and probably wouldn't fall off anytime soon. "There." She nodded. "Now pin the badge and turn it on."

"Oh." Raine looked at the badge a moment before pinning it to the scarf and smacking it as she'd been told.

Raine grew in size, draconic traits becoming more prominent until she reached the size she had before with the badge. "Now your pool is small, so this might not last very long," Jerry pointed out the kill spots on her upper body, "Keep going."

Raine nodded. "Right. This is still so weird..." She continued practicing, aiming for the higher weak spots that she could reach now.

And that was how Jerry and Raine killed the morning. By lunch at least Raine had a much better grasp of what she was doing, in between stopping to rest and recover mana for the badge. "Good job," Jerry smiled, "Keep the knife, I've got a hundred of the things." It sounded like an exxageration but knowing Jerry it might not have been.

"Lunch!", Adran called, setting up the table again.

Raine nodded, back at her usual size, and paused before just putting the weapon into her quiver. It seemed a good place to just store miscellaneous weapons, partly because it had already been full of miscellaneous weapons when she got it. At the lunch call, she headed over to join the others to eat.

Once everyone was gathered, Niudisa spoke up. "So, about how much longer do we plan on sticking around here?"

"As long as we need," Jerry shrugged, "This place is safe."

"Once you have completed all of your momentary projects and Erina has finished everything she is working on," Joanne said, focusing on the two she was aware of with active projects, "We will be prepared to move on at speed. We should not have to stop for projects past this point, I hope."

"Right. In that case, I'll take a look around and see if that bird left any adventurer bones around. We'll see what we can do to fortify them a bit and boost our numbers."

"Good luck," Jerry shrugged, "Erina, how's your weaving going?"

There were definitely bones, just very few that were intact. Apparently that phoenix liked marrow.

"I am making good progress. I should be passing out finished works soon." Erina looked to Emfa. "And you're certain you don't want anything?"

"That's good," Jerry nodded.

Emfa leaned back in her chair, "I'll be-" Veo reached over and gently pulled the back of Emfa's shirt, which was so threadbare by now a piece basically fell off. "Fine, sure, what do you need from me?"

Erina gave a smile. "I just need to take your measurements to make sure it'll fit right. And your preferences, of course."

Emfa grumbled, but nodded, "Fine, let's get this over with, do I need to take my clothes off for you to get your measurements?"
