Fantasy Cursed Island

"And you didn't think to ask if maybe there was a better time to do that?" Veo shook her and went to the tent flap to open the door, "Get out, we're going to bed."

Adran just smiled. Nothing happened at first when the collar was fastened. Erina could feel the same tingling Asta did, then the pull on her mana pool. And then she started glowing, her lower half changing shape while her organs rearranged and changed shape inside of her. Eight legs became two, her abdomen vanished into her upper body, chitin becoming skin.

Adran whistled, "Wow, you make a beautiful human woman."

“I couldn’t ask before the connection was made, but yes, I’ll give you some space.” She didn’t actually need the flap to leave, but she swam out through it anyway.

Emil relayed the message and watched her go before nodding to Veo. “And she’s out.”

Erina had to lean forward on the bed to avoid falling as her lower half changed. Once it was done, she glanced down at herself. “Oh... My legs.” She glanced back. “Among other things...”

Veo dropped the flap and bolted it shut as though that would change a spirit's ability to re-enter the room if she wanted. She turned back to Emil and started removing her apron and other garments so she'd be able to sleep more comfortably. "Emil, I love you, but please promise me she's not going to be close to us?"

Adran smiled, "Hey, it looks good, in a different way." He'd have clapped if his hands were free. "I guarantee you'd have men on the surface begging for your attention." He thought for a bit, "Some women, too."

Emil nodded. "Of course. It's a professional arrangement. She's promised to stay out of my personal life."

"If it didn't feel so awkward, I'm sure I could." She tried to stand up straighter, but kept a hand on the bed. "Such a narrow base... I feel like a gust of wind would throw me off balance..."

"Good," Veo gestured to the bed, "But you're not off the hook, young man." Once she was undressed she crawled into bed and patted Emil's side for the bard to climb in as well.

"Oh, I don't know about that," Adran smiled, focusing on Erina's new legs, "You've got a wider base than you think, and you don't have massive wings sticking out like Jerry."

Emil gave a nervous smile. "I'm not sure if I should be scared or excited." Regardless, he walked over to the bed, getting his vest off along the way.

Erina looked down at her hips. "Mm, not as wide as I'm used to." She started letting go of the bed, trying to work out how to balance on two legs. "These are so meaty and chunky. Like I'm wearing rocks. Soft, squishy rocks." She glanced over at Adran. "Stop staring while I figure this out. I'm not being graceful right now and it's embarrassing."

Veo smiled and pulled the blankets up over the two of them, and reached over Emil to turn out the lantern. "Good night," she said as she settled down into a comfortable position.

Adran could only laugh, "Sweetie, you don't need to be graceful to be beautiful."

"Good night." Emil back and just accepted his fate. Not that he'd choose any other.

Erina gave him a look. "You and your charms..." She turned her focus to standing properly. With a bit of effort, she managed to stand on her own before she moved on to walking. "Do you all just stomp around like this? I swear it seems quieter when you do it."

"It's because you're not used to it," Adran shook his head, "Asta's the same way. If you let me down I can help you," he winked at the woman.

Erina held a hand towards him. "No, I can figure this out." She paused for a moment. "I also can't reach the threads I need to to properly undo that without all of my legs, so you are stuck there until I can turn back."

"If you say so," Adran gave as best a shrug he could manage. His hands and fingers were still partially free, so if it came down to it he could probably free himself with a spell if things got too uncomfortable. It was hard to properly trap someone with significant experience in a circle of hell where these experiences were common.

"At least you have a good view from there." Erina continued pacing around, gradually getting used to things.

Adran couldn't argue with that, "It is rather nice."

Outside Beri had resumed his pacing around as he did when he was trying to figure things out, eventually pausing by Niudisa's worktable to watch her work.

Niudisa was currently working with the phoenix feathers she'd gotten, laying them out next to her alchemy setup as she tried to figure out how to put them into a drinkable potion.

Beri watched the potionmaking for a while before speaking up. "Do you think you could perhaps transfer the properties of the feather into a liquid by soaking it?" It didn't look like she was having an easy time liquifying the feather, anyway. Not properly.

Niudisa glanced over before looking at the feathers. "Possibly. It depends on the liquid. Plain water might just give me a wet feather. It could work in healing water though. It already seems to have a connection with phoenixes."

"True. Can you-" Niudisa stopped as she recalled that Beri had no hands. "Never mind." She picked up a bottle and fluttered over towards the springs.

Beri raised an eyebrow but shook his head and started pacing while Niudisa filled the bottles.

Niudisa had to make a few trips since she could only manage one bottle at a time. As she returned with the second bottle, she looked over at Beri. "Do you need something, or are you just bored?"

"I do not know," Beri shook his head. "You earlier mentioned that my fur could be dyed. How?"

"Probably similar to how Erina dyes clothes, I guess. I've heard of people doing it, but I've never actually seen the process of it."

Beri frowned, that definitely wasn't the answer he wanted. "And I take it you have no glamour abilities to perform the same function?"

"Glamour isn't my thing. If it's not useful to me, I probably haven't learned it. And I haven't wanted to change my fur color. If you want glamour, talk to Erina, or maybe Emil."

Well that wasn't helpful at all, it seemed everyone who could help Beri was behind locked doors. "I see." Beri left the table and padded away.

Inside Erina and Adran's tent, Adran was starting to cramp up in places, and he'd need those places to work tomorrow. As much as he was enjoying watching Erina get used to two legs, if he wanted to be able to move in the morning he'd have to cut this 'punishment' short. "Pulso." A sound like someone knocking on wood came from Adran's hands, and the knots holding him just undid themselves. "That was fun, sweetie," Adran said as he got back to his feet from how he dropped, "But I was starting to get sore."
