Fantasy Cursed Island

Adran nodded, "We should probably get back, I've gotta figure out how to get the rafts to the tunnel."

Erina nodded and looked over towards her reflection. It seemed she’d finished making and bottling the dyes, but she didn’t want to interrupt them.

"We'll probably sleep on the rafts," Adran explained to the group once he returned, "It's starting to turn night again." It had been a few hours since he and Erina had walked off, long enough the reflection could make the dyes. "Asta, Emfa, Joanne, and Shuffle, I'm going to need your help moving them."

Erina gathered her stuff and dismissed her reflection before joining the others.

Asta and Shuffle both nodded, one of them far more eager than the other.

Adran unhitched Amdis and led the muscles towards the rafts. There were at least a dozen of the things. "Had to make them fit through the tunnel," he explained. "Good news is we thought that far ahead."

"He had a demon make some plant fiber ropes," Emfa reached under one of the rafts to produce those ropes, "We're going to pull them to the tunnel."

Shuffle watched before getting down to find some ropes herself. “So, we just grab and pull?”

"Essentially," Adran nodded as he hitched his demon horse to one of the rafts. "Amdis and Asta can probably pull one on their own, but the rest of us are gonna have to work together to pull one."

Shuffle decided to test that and immediately started trying to pull one on her own. Asta just waited to get hitched up.

Shuffle trying to pull the raft herself was about as effective as if she had tried to tackle a full-size Asta to the ground. It didn't even shift.

"Told you," Adran shook his head as he attached a raft to Asta's saddle harness. Joanne took the front next to Shuffle, Emfa and Adran heading to the back to push. "Go!"

Shuffle stopped trying once it was clear she wouldn’t get anywhere. She waited for the others to join her before trying again. Asta waited for them to get moving before he started walking as well.

Asta and Amdis, as predicted, had very little trouble pulling the rafts along. Shuffle, Joanne, Adran, and Emfa, however, had a bit more trouble. The problems of not being a giant beast of muscle or a demon warhorse. Eventually they got the rafts down to and through the tunnel, all of them, and lined up at the dockto be mounted and set sail.

During that time, those still at the forge were finishing up their packing. "You seem to be in a good mood for once," Beri noted.

"For once I don't have to worry about you guys screwing up and getting us killed in the immediate future," Jerry shrugged.

Erina glanced over. "With all of our new equipment, hopefully that will continue to not be a problem."

Emil nodded. "It would be nice, but we shouldn't drop our guard."

Raine spoke up. "If it helps, I try to stay out of trouble already."

"I am not fragile," Nalla added. "The tribe should be able to continue onward."

"We are not a tribe," Beri shook his head.

"Has anyone seen Lyak?", Jerry asked, looking around. The little goblin had vanished. She was taking a nap on Erina's cart, curled up beneath the cloth sheet once used as a curtain.

Erina glanced around. "Ah... I was busy with my dyes. She's so quiet, I often forget she's there..."

"Yay..." Almost as quick as it came, calm and in a good mood Jerry vanished. "We gotta find her. Start looking." They'd find the goblin eventually.

Erina nodded and started looking around, calling Lyak's name in case she was within hearing. Raine helped by checking smaller places closer to the ground.

Eventually, the little goblin stirred and poked her head out o the sheet to look around confused as to why she was being called. "Wha...?

Raine noticed her as she stood up from checking under the cart. "Huh? I found her!"

Erina looked over before walking to the cart.

Lyak squeaked when Raine appeared, dodging back under the sheet to hide from the lizard.

"Gods-dammit, Lyak," Jerry muttered.

"And she's back," Beri muttered.

Lyak took a moment to respond, reacting to someone lifting the sheet the same way she had initially whenever Erina extended a hand towards her. "...sleeping?"

"I'm sorry," Lyak crawled out from under the sheet, looking at the ground like she expected some kind of punishment for that.

"You find her?", Jerry asked, looking over. "Good!"

"You're alright. Just try to let me know next time." Erina's first response would normally be to pat her head to reassure her, but she remembered how she had flinched from that before, so she didn't.
