"I do not raid tombs; I assumed you were an animal. My apologies."

Erin was about to reply, but decided that trying to explain the metaphor would be a waste of time. Since she had never played any video game before, the joke would wear itself out before Erin could tell her the entirety of the reference. He then took his time to study the other girl that had hopped out from the store, and his brow furrowed. There were a lot of people here. It made him clutch the hilt of his knife even tighter than before. Not out of any annoyance, but out of his complete lack of control over the situation. He definitely couldn't stop all of these people from appearing - and he didn't enjoy that idea in the least. His jaw flexed, his teeth grinding together only slightly as he took in his vastly new surroundings. It was like those angels from that old show Dr. Who - if he focused on one of them, six more seemed to walk around in the corner of his eye. Dont blink.

"Now if you'll lower that, I'll lower mine." His green eyes locked with the hues of the other woman, the one with the red hair [at least he assumed it was red], and relaxed his grip on the combat knife. He fixed his posture from one of wariness to one of nonchalance, that position was hurting his back, anyway. He just decided that being suspicious of everyone wouldn't get him anywhere. "Dont you worry your pretty little head - I wasn't planning on using this thing." There was a bitter taste on the back of his tongue after he spoke. He didn't know why - but something about their transaction didn't sit right within his belly.

"Hey there!"

The voice cut through the other's conversation like a knife, and startled Erin quite a bit. Immediately, he stiffened and whipped his head to the side to view the perpetrator. Though the subject looked harmless enough, Erin still caught himself reaching for the tactical knife hidden in his pocket. He forced himself to stop, however, because it took him only a split second to realize that the man was greeting them, not trying to surprise them. But, if one were to gaze at Erin's expression as the stranger approached, they would have found it fairly comical.
"How're y'all doing?"

"Jesus Christ, kid - are you trying to make me go into convulsions?? Fuck! You scared the living hell outta me!" No, Erin wasn't mad at the newcomer, but he was shaken. Impromptu arrivals just weren't his thing, okay? So, his immediate reaction was to scold the new guy [all of Erin's immediate reactions are ones of anger, okay?]

"Oh my God, I could have thrown a knife at you... Oh, God.."

Erin's mutterings continued, escalating into pull-on pacing. He looked like an anxious tiger in a cage. It was obvious that he needed a moment.

"Why would I help you?"

Ana had just watched the man loosen his grip on his own knife when she was startled by a new voice. "Hey there! How are ya'll doing?" came from behind her and Ana whirled around to look at the other man who had just revealed himself. She looked him up and down, her eyes catching the tiniest details on him. He had a bow strapped to his back and Ana's eyes immediately dilated, trying to take in every little thing about it. It was the first bow she had seen in a very long time and she was itching to get her hands on one. She tried to see if he was worth taking on or not to fight for it. He was tall but not crazy muscular. At least from what she could see. He didn't seem like much of a threat since he was normal. But she caught movement in a shadow from where this man had just come and Ana's eyes flicked off of him and towards the bus.

She looked back to the man and cocked her head to the side. "That's a nice bow you got. What do you need it for though when you've clearly got someone guarding your back." She nodded her head towards the bus. "And as my lovely companion over there has stated, we are just dandy." She once again looked towards the bus and called out to the moving shadow. "Come on out now. We don't bite... much. Plus it'll be easier to make friends if you don't act like you're about to ambush us." She smirked at the guy. "But you're awfully bold just stepping right out in the middle of an Enhanced group discussion.. What's your name?" This man made her curious. He was bold and blatant but he didn't seem to want to harm anyone. And he didn't seem worried that any of them would give him the same courtesy. Strange.

"I've never met anyone who wasn't worth saving."

═══╬══╬═══ Sєbคstin × Cooӄє ═══╬══╬═══

Woah. I mean, Sebastian wasn't dumb, he expected a reaction from the people. He was very aware of how strange it must be for them to meet with someone as enthusiastic as him, but he didn't actually expect that all of them turned to him and looked like they'd seen ghosts. "Doing well. Thank you for your concern." One of the more pragmatic ones said. He smiled at her, and said "I'm glad to hear it.". "That's a nice bow you got. What do you need it for though when you've clearly got someone guarding your back." He turned to the new girl who spoke up. He hadn't actually planned on revealing the other man, since it was up to him if he wanted to go along with Sebastians obviously dumb reaction of head straight for these people. He knew the dangers of it, but he refused to give in to paranoia. He was bent on believing that there was still something good in everyone.

"I made it myself, and it's fairly good, if I may say so myself. I use it for hunting." He said with an excusing smile, and scratched his neck. "I don't... Hurt people.." He added a bit quieter. He didn't want to seem pretentious. "Don't worry about him, by the way. I didn't mention him, because it's his own choice whether he wants to go along with my dumb ideas. Running up to a group of people just like that? I can't be completely sane." He felt sorry for the other guy now, especially now that he couldn't get out of here without them knowing he exists, in case they were more murderous than they seemed now. Well, actually, that guy was fast. Maybe he could get away.

"Jesus Christ, kid - are you trying to make me go into convulsions?? Fuck! You scared the living hell outta me!" He flinched a bit at the guys reaction. He let out a short excusing laugh. "I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention at all. Sorry." "Oh my God, I could have thrown a knife at you... Oh, God.." Sebastian smiled at the statement. "Well, you didn't, and that's definitely a plus in my book. Lots of people do." Man, he was almost about to laugh at himself. He sounded so silly. It was so... Weird, in this apocalyptic world, but he wasn't going to change. No, this world couldn't mess with his morals.

"Come on out now. We don't bite... much. Plus it'll be easier to make friends if you don't act like you're about to ambush us."

He looked back at the girl again. "Ehm... If you can't see the insanity in what I'm doing here.. It's pretty bad. And I would appreciate it if you didn't force my friend here to reveal himself..." "But you're awfully bold just stepping right out in the middle of an Enhanced group discussion.. What's your name?" Enhanced? He had no idea. He couldn't help himself, he laughed. What had he gotten himself into now? "Thank you for the compliment.. But eh, enhanced enschmanced. We're all people. I don't doubt that you feel just like I do, and that you'd like just as much as me for this irradiated nightmare to end." His smile widened a little. He liked this girl. She was nice, but clearly chose not to be as dumb as Sebastian. He started walking up to her, pulling the bow off of his back, and unbuttoned a long pocket on his left leg. He raised his hand, and offered her the bow. "It's yours if you want it, I can make a new one." Out of the pocket, he fished 5 arrows of sharpened wood, and 2 with thick metal points, who definitely looked to be of higher quality. He leaned his head to the side, and said "I'm Sebastian, but some people call me Seb, or Sebby... Not that it matters, you can call me what you want."

As the survivors conversed suspiciously among each other, something else took notice from a distance away. His eyes were completely black, and was twice the size of a regular human. He had visible strength that surpassed even the most enhanced of humans. His skull was cracked open, yet he showed no pain. His mouth was noticeably stained with blood, but the rest of his body could easily compete

As if on instinct it sped forward as soon as he heard their voices, moving on both his feet and hands at an inhumane speed.

Without giving the survivors much time to react, he grabbed his closest, and first, blonde-haired victim standing behind a bus. The monster picked him up like a doll, his grip mercilessly tightening, ending the boy's life with a bone-crushing sound...

The nearby humans quickly assessed this situation and fled.

There was no way they would survive against an opponent such as this one.

It slung the limp body over his shoulder, preparing a second chase at his now fleeing targets, but the sound of movement from a corner store a distance away caught his attention.

Once again, it gave no second thought as it easily picked up the bus, throwing it in the direction of the store. His aim, however seemed a bit off, as it hit the side of the store instead of head on. His strength wasn't something to reckon with as the bus broke into pieces, leaving a huge dent in the building. Thousands of pieces of debris flew in through the window, one especially larger piece finding it's way into the skull of a young girl, ending her life immediately. Not a single person left alive in the store stayed to investigate, high-tailing it out of there in an instant before the monster came to collect its next body.

The survivors continued to flee. It had been a short while until they realized that whatever had brutally murdered the humans decided against chasing them, as it had been too preoccupied with his new corpses.

Whatever had attacked them seemed invincible... and far from human.

(Aka - confusing OP monster thing that should be discussed among the characters, only for its mystery to be revealed as the story progresses. Yay.)

Yes, I am more intelligent that you are.

xxxxxIt all happened in an instant. As soon as the giant murdered one of the men, Bella's mental calculations went crazy. Size, speed, strength. He obviously wasn't a normal human. From the looks of it, he couldn't be an enhanced human either. As far as her knowledge went, the enhanced never had more than one ability since the human body wasn't able to maintain too much of the unnatural change. Yet, what was this thing? Her eyes scanned over to his face. Black eyes, blood-stained mouth. Whether it was human blood, or animal blood, she couldn't figure out, but it was plain to see that he had been eating plenty of raw meat. His movements were unnatural and weird; for a moment, she locked eyes with the creature, but he didn't seem to react.

xxxxxBellamy was tempted to stay and observe, but even a complete idiot would know not to stick around in their situation. With one last glance at its eyes, she turned and ran towards what she hoped was safety.

--Time Skip--

xxxxxPanting, Bella rested her hands above her knees, before straightening herself up and wiping the sweat off her forehead. Her gaze turning to the debris behind her. There was no sign of the giant. She pulled her backpack off, unzipping it and squatted down. She took a moment to dig through her bag before she pulled out a small metal flask. Bella undid the top quietly and brought the flask to her lips, only for nothing to come out. A mild flash of annoyance came across her as she recalled having finished the last of her water the day before. She would have to refill it soon.

xxxxxAfter throwing the empty flask back into her bag, Bellamy zipped up the backpack back and slung it around her shoulder. "That thing was blind." She muttered, more to herself than anyone else. "We were to loud..." She grabbed a small twig from the ground beside her, making a useless attempt at drawing what had just recently attacked them. Although the picture was clear in her mind, she was never that great of a drawer. But as long as it made sense to her, it didn't really matter what it looked like. Her eyes squinted as she stared at the picture before her. It looked more like a deformed stickman if anything. With a sigh of frustration, Bella stood back up, throwing the stick aside. At least it was fun to draw.

Egon

(I have a stupid tendency to post too early, I edited it now to be correct)

Egon became a bit confused when the boy started referencing him as the girls boyfriend, Egon became seriously confused wondering what a boyfriend was again. He tried to remember as if he had it on the tip of his tongue, he decided to drop the topic when he saw the girl wielding a knife and pointing it at the boy's neck. He saw this when the boy popped his head out, Egon thought it must suck to be that young and suffering all these traumatic things. Egon swiftly dashed over to the girl and grabbed her wrist forcefully, forcing it away from the kid's throat and pushing her away while putting his body in between them.

"Hey, he's just a kid... He doesn't need you treating him like some killer or huge threat."

Egon said this in a tone that would make him seem a bit serious and intimidating, he didn't want to fight, he hoped he could simply scare the girl off or have her see some reason, but she was armed and he wasn't very armed so she might think she has the advantage. Egon quickly heard a loud snapping noise and saw a giant...
thing that looked bigger than anything he had ever seen, it was truly terrifying, the image planted in his mind as it literally picked up the bus, and of course, threw it at them.

"OH SHIT- GET DOWN!"

He shouted as the bus collided with the store, he had quickly grabbed the boy and used his body as a shield to save him from any sharp objects, the counter also provided some mild protection but the debris simply shredded through it. Sadly when Egon looked up again he saw blood splattered across the walls, the girl had no been so lucky, Egon immediately gave off a look of horror. It was his fault that he pushed her away, in the end he could not save her of her death. Egon looked at the boy he protected and said.

"We need to get out of here."

Within a heart beat he was dashing down the street, following the other survivor that had the neon back pack, her back pack stood out so she was easy to follow. He
hoped the boy was following since Egon was going at such a fast pace.

--Time Skip Happens--

Egon reached the girl and saw her drawing something, A deformed stick figure? Egon chuckled slightly and sighed, for a second all the adrenaline left his body. Due to his sigh of relief, after this he felt the pain of some of the debris that had lodged itself in his back and his left calf, not many were deep but there were many pieces of shrapnel. He hissed at the pain but was honestly more bothered at the fact his new jacket was kinda ruined. The sides of his cheeks were cut up a bit bad but they started healing rather quickly, he would have to take out that shrapnel quick before he regenerates.

There was hardly any time for anyone to register exactly what came out from behind the bus at that moment. It was big, that much he knew. It looked like a giant - reminding him of a nymph type creature he once caught sight of in the woods - black eyes, sharp teeth, immense height. He knew that things like this weren't so easily killed or messed with. Luckily, he had been prepared all along, and as soon as that bus had left the ground, Erin was already running in the direction he had come, determined to stay alive. He sprinted away, holding the hilt of his knife down in place so that it wouldn't bounce out of the sheath it was concealed in. A loud crash sounded, making him flinch, but only succeeding in having him sprint faster. He was gasping raggedly by the time he had made it out of earshot of the thing, and had to take a moment to see if he could re learn how to breath. When you smoke as much as he did, it made staying in shape awful hard on the lungs.

When he had calmed down some, Erin risked turning to look back. He couldn't hear or see anything out of the norm, which was good. But, it didn't mean he was out of the clear. He continued onward, hopeful to get out of the crumbled city before nightfall. He knew how to live in the forests, and he would do so until he could figure out how to kill those things. But, he may need three or four people to accomplish such a feat..

? ? ?

Darkness had begun to swallow everything in sight just as Erin made it to the outskirts of wherever he had been sheltered. He saw exits to highways, which were full of cars and even a few dead people, and smaller homes that were starting to crumble with negligence. He had to get further away, though - so his walking journey wasn't over quite yet. He just needed a place to sleep - and one of these houses should do. So, he hobbled over to the front porch of a dark red and white house, and checked the door. It was locked, which was actually surprising, for people didn't tend to remember that sort of thing when they were fleeing the state. With a grunt and a fairly violent sounding crash, Erin sent his body through the door and in turn granted him access to the abandoned house.

Gingerly, he closed the door back up, and placed his backpack of things against it so the door wouldn't come open during the night. After making sure everything was okay, Erin turned and went into the living room, and planted himself on the couch. He wouldn't dare use one of the bedrooms - he felt it was disrespectful.

He fell asleep rather quickly after that.

????????????????????????????????????????????????

xxxxxBefore the girl could react, and react meaning slicing Ben's head off, the man who had entered seemed to take notice of the boy's presence. Fortunately, he grabbed ahold of her wrist and pushed the weapon away from its previous target. Pretty much every muscle in Ben's body relaxed as he lay flat on the floor under the counter. Well, as flat as he could have laid anyways. What mattered was that his head was still attached to his neck, and that was for sure a definite miracle.

xxxxxAfter thanking whatever higher power that had sent this wondrous wrist-grabbing, sword-pusher-awayer person, Ben began to sit himself up, before being roughly pushed joining the floor once again. "OH SHIT- GET DOWN!" The man shouted, as he jumped to his knees and grabbed the young boy. He hadn't even been given a chance to react to this potential molestation when what looked to be an old, rusty bus crashed into the building. It broke into pieces, but debris and parts of the vehicle still flew in threw the windows and crashed through the walls. "Holy mother of flying fuck!" He shouted, eyes widened as he made a pathetic attempt of pushing himself back under the counter before realizing this guy was literally glued to him and had him down with a death grip. From the looks of it, however, the counter didn't seem to be holding up very well under the pressure, as the debris was practically shredding it into wood chips.

xxxxxAs if the current event hadn't been frightening enough, some large piece of death slammed straight into the woman's head. As if the sound and visuals weren't enough, blood flew all over the wall. If he hadn't been so pumped up with fear, he'd probably lose his non-existent lunch. But what was obviously more important was getting the hell out of there and staying far from whatever made that bus go crazy. It seemed the other man hand the same idea, but when he spoke, it was as if he was insinuating on leaving together. Yeah, no. Not after that previous molest-the-fifteen-year-old-because-a-bus-just-crashed-into-the-building. No Siree.

xxxxxBenjamin jumped out from under the counter, slinging the drawstring backpack over his shoulder and dashing out of the store, just in time to see some monstrous beast strolling over towards the store with a dead body swinging about on his shoulders. For some reason, he had a feeling that it was out to collect its second, and if he didn't get his butt out of there soon, he would be the third. Without a second to spare, Ben high-tailed it out of there, with fear doing a great job at keeping his speed up to par. As he ran, he took note of the other man running towards some blur of bright neon pink, but Ben simply turned his head and ran off into a different direction.

---Time Skip---

xxxxxThe poor boy was gasping for air by the time he stopped running, collapsing on the floor in a heap of human as the ground dirtied his already dirty clothes. "Oh my god." Were the first words he breathed out before turning flat onto his back. He spread out his arms and legs and stared straight up at the sky. It was getting dark, and the moon was already breaking through the dimming sky. He would have to find a place to stay the night. With an exhausted sigh, Benjamin pushed himself up onto his feet, dusting himself off.

Shelter. He needed a place to lie down, and last night's cramped counter would be made up for today. Soon enough, he come across a small house. The dark red and white colors were unappealing, but it was one of the more in tact ones. Silently, Ben crept up the steps and towards the closed door. The thought of a softer surface to lay on brought a hopeful smile to his face, just as he pushed the entrance open gently. A creak sounding from it's rusty hinges as he moved it. However, what met his eye was some sort of thing laying on his would-be-bed, asleep. His first assumption was that it was another man, but the black skin and weird white markings suggested otherwise. Was he another one of those monsters?

xxxxxWith wide eyes and newfound fear, the boy gently pulled the door short, another creak finding it's way into existence which seemingly felt louder than the other one. As soon as the door was shut, Ben took gentle steps back out again, slowly walking away. Shelter would have to come later. Much, much later and farther away from whoever, or whatever that was.

═══╬══╬═══ Sєbคstin × Cooӄє ═══╬══╬═══

(Am I the only one picturing a tank?)

What the hell was that? Sebastian usually didn't even think swear words, but this... Thing, was something else. Damn. He wasn't a fast runner, but the adrenaline helped him keep up with the other people. Luckily, the monster seemed to have gotten interest in a corner store instead. If it hadn't done that, Sebastian was sure that they'd all have been done for.

-Timeskip-

A girl seemed to be the one leading the group, and as she stopped, so did everyone else. Sebastian wasn't keen on being alone again, so he stuck with the rest of them. The girl grabbed a metal bottle and seemed drink from it for less than a second, and the removed it from her lips to reveal that it was empty. Sebastian took a couple of deep breaths to slow down his heart rate, dropped the arrows and the bow he was still holding in his hands on the ground, swung the backpack off of himself, and went through it quickly. Water was one of the few things he had a lot of. He destincly remembered reading somewhere that making food with lots of water in it was good. Like stews or soups. He grabbed one of his many bottles and threw it to the girl. "Here." He said, with a small smile on his face like usual. "I've got plenty."

"That thing was blind. We were to loud..." Sebastian flinched at the words, and felt his heart sink. He was definitely the loudest of them all. "I'm sorry, it must've been my fault.." And his almost-friend from earlier had died because of it. Poor man. Some guy approached them. He didn't recognize him, but he didn't even care anymore. He felt bad about this. all of this.

(My brain ain't functioning properly. Next post will hopefully be better.)

"Why would I help you?"

Ana saw something move with a sickening grace out of the corner of her eye right before the... thing attacked the boy behind the bus. She took in all that she could about it and stored it into her mind palace for later reference. It was disgusting to say the least with it's empty, soulless black eyes and it's inhuman gait on all it's limbs. It was a a monstrosity of some sick event or maybe a broken person's imagination gone awry.

As it shoved the boy's life out of his body, Ana's eyes saw the first drop of blood fly through the air, twisting on itself and splitting apart before eventually landing on the dirt only 4.2 feet away from the tips of her toes. She tried to avert her eyes before she saw the rest but she wasn't as quick as she needed to be. She saw all the blood. All the gore. She saw the boy's sinewy muscles be pulled to their limits before they ripped fiber by fiber in a bloody flurry, spraying blood across the bus.

It was too much. Ana grabbed the bow and arrows that the boy had given her, turned tail, and ran after the other's following the other girl and two boys.

TIME SKIP

Ana stopped with the group and bent down with her hands on her knees. Retching and dry heaving as her body tried to cope with what had just happened. She sat there for a minute waiting for it to subside and listened to the others. She flicked her eyes up to glance at the others. The girl seemed to drawing the thing. Or trying at least. She unfolded her self and stood straight looking at the others.

"That was horrible. And the first I've seen anything even like it. But that doesn't mean there aren't more of them. Or at least similar.. monsters." She looked at them and furrowed her brow. Cautiously, she approached the girl and her drawing, pulling out one of the arrows. She kneeled down next to the stick like figure of the thing and put the tip to it, altering some of the lines and making some more. She drew up the image from her mind palace and shuddered at the image. It really was terrible.

Finally, she stood and looked down at the new drawing. Thanks to her abilities and her eyes, she was able to remember images way better than any normal human and so she could draw it up or describe it even better. It was helpful sometimes. But most times she just wished she could forget all the things she'd ever seen. She almost wished she was blind like that thing sometimes. It would solve most of her problems.
"There. It's a little better I think. I hope you don't mind." She brushed off her hands and looked at the others. "Well? What are we gonna do? We can't just stay here." She paused and mulled over a thought in her head. As much as she didn't enjoy it, it was the best option. "And we might want to stick sorta close to each other. Just in case there's more things like that one. To survive. For a little at least." She scowled and kept a walled off expression, not letting anyone see her fear.

Yes, I am more intelligent that you are.

xxxxxBella crossed her arms, staring straight at the drawing in the dirt below her when a voice cut straight through her thoughts. "Here." She looked up, a bottle flying straight towards her. Without any objections, she swiped it from the air and uncapped the container, taking a gulp before capping it again and throwing it into her bag. "Thank you." Bella replied simply. As apathetic as she might have sounded, the girl was truly thankful. Finding drinkable water wasn't exactly an easy task. For a moment, she observed him, as if trying to find the physical difference that made this man so generous, yet she saw nothing.

xxxxxThe man named Sebastian continued to talk, apologizing as if he was the sole reason and cause of their near death experience. "You are at fault." Bella stated matter-of-factly. "But you were not the only person making noise." She said. Her words may have come off as a way to comfort Sebastian, but to Bella, she was only stating facts as she briefly recalled the black and white skinned man's booming voice. All of them had been contributing the the level of sound.

xxxxxIt seemed as if whatever had caused the group to escape, had affected the area around them as well, as the man from earlier in the day joined their group. Bella turned to face him, scanning the man over and taking note of the cuts on his face that were visibly healing. So he was one of the enhanced. A second more of her staring quickly revealed to her that this man was probably still upset at her. Besides, he had just walked straight up to them without a word, another sign of his distress and yearning for closure. She would have to end this quickly. The girl stepped up to him, spreading her arms out and wrapping them around the man in a mechanical hug. "There there." She said. "I apologize for my misdoings." Bella offered about a second more of her physical touch before pulling away, a piece of debris that had been stuck to him lightly scratching her in the process. After giving him a nod, she abruptly turned away, just in time to see the girl step away from her drawing.

xxxxx"There. It's a little better I think. I hope you don't mind." Silently, Bella bent down and peered at the newly improved artwork. Was she slightly peeved that her drawing was now gone? Yes. But the new one that stood in its place accompanied very well the visuals that whirred around inside her brain. Blood. That thing had blood all over its mouth. Could its size have something to do with cannibalism? Bella tapped her chin, staring at the ground. No, no.. she had witnessed plenty of humans feeding on each other to know that didn't happen. With a sigh, she turned away from the picture. The fact that she couldn't figure this mystery out was already taxing enough on her enhanced brain.

xxxxxWhen the red-haired girl spoke up, Bella could only nod in agreement. If they stayed in the area for much longer, that monster would most likely find them again, and they wouldn't make it out alive. "We need to find a place to stay for the night. It will be dark soon and we will be vulnerable." She said, reminding the group of the obvious to get them on their feet. "I caught a small animal earlier in the day, but it is all the food I have." Bellamy turned her gaze towards the other woman for a second, the scowl on her face only gave her mixed signals. Had she done something to upset this person as well? She would have to solve this problem later. For now, they needed to find some cover.

Egon

Egon noticed more and more people joining him and the girl, it seemed that they had started a mini group. He remembered all of them, the red haired girl who apparently wasn't feeling too good as well as the man who spoke up loudly, Egon remained silent for the most part, listening to the conversation but lost in his own thoughts, he realized that the kid had not followed him and grew worried that the monster might have caught him. Egon was sure he was safe, I mean the kid was smart enough to run right? But he wasn't sure still, the adrenaline had crowded Egon's thoughts while he ran and he only had the objective of getting far away from that thing.

Egon looked at the man named Sebastian, he was pretty nice to the girl whom had attempted to draw but failed miserably, offering her his water supply. The black haired girl made quick work of striking reality onto the poor guy's world. Saying he had been too loud.
"But you were not the only person making noise."

Egon nodded and said

"Yeah, there was another man with whi-"

Egon was cut off by the hug that he received unexpectedly from the girl,

--Yeah this girl might be in the #1 spot for my loony list.--

Egon couldn't help but blush ever so slightly from embarrassment, he had a hard time depicting if she wanted to kill him or if it was a sincere hug, but to be honest the hug seemed pretty apathetic. When she pulled away knowing she had patted his wounds he had the biggest "Wtf man >.<" face in history.

The topic was moved towards sticking together, surviving, and food. The red headed girl didn't really like the idea even though she suggested it which Egon found odd. He sighed and spoke up.

"Well I'll start by introducing myself... Name's Egon... Hi, heh." he said awkwardly

"I have a few stale pieces of a cookie and a granola bar. I'm fine if I don't eat that much tonight." he expressed pretty openly

He left the food on top of a large flat topped rock near them neatly, the half cookie on top of a napkin and the granola bar next to it neatly wrapped.

"I'm going to find a place to wash off my wounds and take out the debris off my back."

But before Egon left he decided to ask the "Stupid" question.

"Why did you hug me?" he directed the question to Bella

| - Anna Glaetera / Ruby - |

Nobody ever said the world was a safe enough place for children and women to roam free at night. But at least, for the last ten years, Ruby had heard countless of times her so-called-little-friends talking about how peaceful New York city had been in the old days. Well, any city would have been more peaceful then their states at the moment, that she agreed. Where human beings were living was simply hell. And yet, she could never hold the edge to go out when the moon was high, darkness and fresh air were just too tempted.

"Don't stray too far."

She heard Jonathan said as she was heading out of their so-called-base, such a childish way to call a place to stay in. Before, the children would have stopped her, but seemed eventually, people got used. Everyone did, to anything happening around them periodically. Everyone, except for her.

Stood up, lifting her backpack, she took a deep breath, inhaling the cool air around, not as fresh as before since the rubble and the dead smell were thickly mixed into, but still better than in the cellar her group made their "home". Time for a stroll, she thought and slowly but cautiously took her steps along the once-called-street, making use of the bushes to hide her silhouette.

Everything was so quiet that it was scary. Even the nocturnal was nowhere to be found, rather they were all dead or hiding from the fear, how sad the world had turned. She looked up to the moon, it was still beautiful as ever. Could the moon not know that the world he ruled was no longer the same?

Suddenly she heard some cricking noise, not very far from her. She quickly froze herself on the bush, breathing as lightly as possible, and turning her eyes to the source of the noise. That was a person, couldn't tell gender or age in that dark, closing the door of a house.

"Is that the owner? I've never known that there are still some people living here."

She thought and decided to observe the guy a bit, in hope that he wouldn't realize her.
"Who knows, he might be dangerous."

?? ??x ??????? ?????? ??

"Morality doesn't keep you from starving."

Another miserable day, Nyx supposed. She sat in the tree that had been her home for the last week, her feet dangling off from the branch she sat on. She clutched a once bright red drawstring bag that had since faded into a duller shade in her left hand, while a hunting knife occupied her right. Jumping down and landing lightly, Nyx looked around for any fresh corpses in hopes of a good looting. She would have to move on soon, and try to find an area with other humans; preferably alive. Those who've stopped breathing don't provide good company. Maybe she would leave today. Who knows? Slinging the bag over her shoulder, the slender girl began her trek to inner city. She always chose to camp on the outskirts, as not as many people venture out here. That means more resources were left untouched and ready to be claimed, and so far only a few others have came to such a conclusion and joined her in the outer city.

Just as she had began walking, Nyx heard a loud crash that echoed throughout the rubble. What was going on? For a split second she though it would be a good looting expedition, but quickly realized that if anything had been killed the killer could very well still be there. It would be smarter to assess the situation before venturing into it. But for now she needed to find food. She could figure it out later.

? ?? ?? ? ? ?? ??

A couple hours and a dead rat later, Nyx finished resetting her last trap. She had about three, and only one had been successful today. It would have to do. At least she'd gotten something. She began to walk towards the inner city to see if there were any new corpses to be looted. She climbed onto a rooftop to get a better view of the area, and leaped onto the next one as she went along the row of dilapidated buildings. Before she could jump onto the next roof, she heard voices. Instinctively dropping down and pressing herself onto the roof, Nyx looked down to see a group. She hadn't seen so many people at once in what seemed like forever. Most of the time people traveled alone, or occasionally in pairs. But a group? That was a rare sight.

There were too many for her to be able to steal anything, and she doubted that anyone would risk venturing out alone after whatever that crash was. Would they know what it was? They had been closer to it, so it was worth a shot to ask. Nyx stood up, clutched her knife tightly in her hand, and leaped onto the ground quietly beside them.
"I'm not a threat." She stated plainly. Saying hello was no longer useful to her; most people could care less about greetings anymore. "Do any of you know what the cause of that crash was?" She looked over the group and quietly counted how many there were. 4 people. The one that caught her eye originally was a girl with striking red hair. She eyed her for a moment before looking over the rest of the group. There were two men and another girl, who was holding a stick with a strange stick figure drawn into the dirt in front of her. One man seemed to ooze with enthusiasm, and another had multiple lacerations with glass and other debris sticking out from quite a few of them. This would be an interesting conversation.

"Why would I help you?"

Ana chuckled emotionlessly at the girl's expression. So she had minded. Oh well. What's done is done. She looked around at the other two and assessed them. They were all so different. She wondered, as she sometimes did, how they would have interacted if they had grown up in the times from the stories. The ones where the world wasn't at war and people were kind and had warm dinners every night and they went to schools and read stories in books made of paper and cloth. When people weren't so alone. She didn't know, though, whether or not they would have gotten along. She never could tell. She may be able to see well but she couldn't see well enough into other's minds.

A boy, Egon he said, dropped a half eaten cookie and a bar of granola onto a napkin. Ana's mouth watered at the sight. Real food. Not half molded, decaying dead rat. But real food. She would have to ask him where he found it. It would be helpful.
"Why did you hug me?" he asked the other girl and Ana smirked. It had seemed odd. She seemed to be stilted in her social interactions. Like she had never talked to anybody before and wasn't quite sure what normal people did. She was Enhanced, that much Ana knew, but so was Ana and she didn't act like that. Sure; Ana was a little off sometimes but that was just because she was so closed off to people. Not because she didn't know what to do.

She was waiting for the girl's reply when suddenly she head a rustle behind her. She whirled to see another girl standing in front of them, clutching a knife and asked them a question.
"I'm not a threat. Do any of you know what the cause of that crash was?" The girl seemed to stare at her for a lingering moment so Ana stood her ground and stared at her back, lifting her chin a smidge. She didn't enjoy being threatened no matter what the girl said. And although Ana thought that maybe that wasn't what she was trying to do, with that knife in her hand Ana couldn't help but think that that was exactly what she was doing. And threats were not welcome.

"Like hell you're not." She nodded to the knife the girl was still holding. "Put that down and maybe we can talk. I wouldn't want to hurt your pretty little face of yours now." She walked a few steps in front of the others, subconsciously positioning herself in a protective stance. Although why Ana would want to protect them she didn't know. But she was just like that sometimes.

Yes, I am more intelligent that you are.

xxxxxAs soon as the man named Egon dropped the scraps of food on the rock, Bella's hand instinctively reached out for it before she pulled away. She would have taken it if she hadn't known that she could still last another week and a half without food before dying as long as she had her water. One of the other survivors probably needed it more than her. Besides, she already had some food of her own that needed to be cooked sometime soon before it would begin to decay. When Egon informed them that he would be leaving to go take care of his wounds, Bella only turned away and went back to staring at the drawing in the dirt. As much as she hated the feeling of not knowing something, she had to at least try to study the monster. Even if all of her obtainable information were drawings in the dirt.

xxxxx"Why did you hug me?" His voice cut straight through her thoughts, severing her line of concentration for just a second before she easily resumed her studying. "Your body language suggested that you had been emotionally hurt in some way." Bella replied, her gaze never leaving the ground. "I 'hugged' you to heal the damage that I had caused." Here eyebrows furrowed as she stared down at the picture. The thing was quite obviously incredible strong. Despite its size, his speed was nothing to be reckoned with. All the blood that she had took note of on the creature couldn't have been his own, so damaging it would have to be extremely difficult, and enhanced hearing could have been the only reason as to how it located them all so quickly. If it wasn't for his lack of sight, he might as well have been the Union's ideal enhanced human.

xxxxxIt wasn't until a girl jumped down onto the ground beside them that Bella decided to tear her gaze away from the ground, her eyes scanning over the newcomer. "I'm not a threat." The stranger stated simply. Bella's eyes only narrowed. With the knife that was being held so firmly in her hands, it wasn't entirely easy to accept her words as true. The red-headed woman was the first to react, lifting her chin slightly and stepping in front of the group. According to her resources, that type of body language suggested power and dominance towards the other party. Silently, Bella gave the woman a slight nod of admiration and respect. She knew exactly what to do in order to convey authority over others. Impressive, even with the small compliment on the stranger's face. "Your false statement of 'not being a threat' only came off as a paradox with the weapon you have in your hand." Bella stated informatively.

"I've never met anyone who wasn't worth saving."

═══╬══╬═══ Sєbคstin × Cooӄє ═══╬══╬═══

Sebastian looked up and snapped out of his depression when he heard the quiet thump of someone hitting the ground. A girl carrying a knife approached them. "I'm not a threat." Sebastian trusted her of course, he had chosen to retain his faith in humanity, but he figured that the others gathered might not be of the same mind. "Your false statement of 'not being a threat' only came off as a paradox with the weapon you have in your hand." He had to admit, even though he was very against judging, that this girl almost came across as a robot. Very mechanical language. "Like hell you're not." His eyes immediately wandered to the other girl. "Put that down and maybe we can talk. I wouldn't want to hurt your pretty little face of yours now." He felt like he need to interject.

He quickly stepped up from the ground and walked past the two girls with his arms raised as a greeting. "Hello, friend." He looked at her knife. He knew how stupid what he was doing was, but he still had a silly hope that the knife wouldn't be buried in him in a moment. He kept his renewed smile up, and continued "Don't mind them, the world we live in isn't one were you learn to trust others, is it?" He paused and looked into her eyes. "Could you please put the knife away, though? I don't want any accidents to happen. There's no need for violence."

He held his arms out, as if to hug her, but it was to show her he wasn't wielding anything. "... Please?"

"Morality doesn't keep you from starving."

"Put that down and maybe we can talk. I wouldn't want to hurt your pretty little face of yours now." She nodded at the lady with red hair. She seemed to assume authority, and took a few steps towards Nyx. She didn't expect to come off as welcoming with her knife, and though it hadn't been her main intentions, she knew that it would be impossible for anything to...go missing from this group. The girl with the stick in her hand began to speak, and said that Nyx's statement was a paradox, and she had to admit that the girl was correct, no matter how odd the outburst was.. "Hello, friend." One of the men spoke, and his tone was surprisingly happy. How could someone be happy in the circumstances they were in? Furthermore, why would he call her a friend? She certainly didn't consider any of them friends. "Don't mind them, the world we live in isn't one where you learn to trust others, is it?" She watched his expressions as he spoke, and saw that the man seemed to speak with true sincerity. He met her gaze, and asked Nyx to put the knife down. It was funny they were all so worried about her knife, when it was 1 against 4 if it came down to a fight. The man held his arms out, and she saw that he was completely unarmed. "..Please?"

"Of course." Refusing would be useless. She would only waste her time and drag on the needless hostility they felt towards her now. Plus, she didn't really want to hurt anybody. Killing precious lives without reason would only cause trouble. She extended her arm to the side and dropped the knife, then took a few steps towards the lady with red hair, further closing the space between them. "Now that that's settled, I believe you all know something? You said you would talk, and I'm pretty sure that's what you'd wanna talk about." She looked over the group once again, hoping they knew what had caused such a loud crash. Or if anyone had died because of it. Looting would be necessary if they had; missing such an opportunity would be wasteful. "So, what happened over there?"

Egon

Egon simply stared at the girl with her response, but he simply stopped and gave her a nervous fake smile and scratched his head, he had stared at her that one time which is probably why she thought that, but still? Emotionally hurt? Egon hadn't cried in a long time. He pondered the question and shrugged, he nodded and said.

"Ah... yes, yes. Thanks for the hug... It's all fixed now!" he said

Egon tried to sound jolly but he was a horrid liar, you could tell so easily, he seemed nervous and was twitching his nose slightly, he tried to walk off into the forest but then noticed someone jump in, with a knife. It seems that the red-head girl jumped into action with her own knife, threatening the other girl, Egon simply stayed still staring at the both of them with his head tilted, curious...

"Wow... they get aggressive real fast."

Egon realized he said that a BIT too loud, just enough for them too hear, luckily the nice guy named Sebastian jumped in between and made them calm down it seems, at least the new survivor at least. Man... They still needed to tell each others names. Before the two girls could react to his very bold statement he laughed nervously and said.

"Well gonna wash off my wounds for a bit when I get back we should do introductions Bye!"

Man... that was a mouth-full, he said that so fast that he had to take a deep breath after wards as he walked away, the guy seemed like a nervous wreck, but he turned like this when it seems like there were too many people around him, overly friendly and almost annoyingly jolly or a very nervous wreck.

He looked around for a pond, his body would take any bacteria that he received and destroy it, he just needed a pond or something, any water would do. He found a slightly less murky pond and started pouring water on his wounds with a plastic cup as he pulled out the large shrapnel out of his calf. he bit of his ruined shirt to avoid him screaming from pain as the shrapnel seemed to be jagged, so it tore through some more muscle fibers as it came out. He simply scraped off the smaller pieces as they would fall off as his body healed. None seemed to be deep enough. He seemed pretty lucky.

He started remembering how that girl died, if he hadn't pushed her away maybe-

He shook his head, he knew those thoughts wouldn't help his current situation, he started putting on a new long-sleeve shirt he had in his bag, it was probably his last shirt he had in the bag at least, the clothes he found that fit in was in that Van... As well as some small amounts of food... Maybe he could ration it and give it to the other guys. But he wanted to get to know them first. That's what groups do right, that's what friend's do... Hm.

Egon shrugged and started walking back, hoping the problem was solved with the new girl, it seems the walk wasn't very long from the area from the looks of it, Egon shrugged and started making his way back through the fences and obstacles he had passed and marked to make his way back and reach the pond.

Egon walked back into the scene only to hear the girl asking about the loud "crash" she was obviously referencing to the giant monster that had attacked them.

"Um, odd stuff to say the least. Lots of death. As well as a Giant.... thing." he was surprised he actually talked

He then noticed he was the only one answering and became nervous

"I uh... Um.... That's about it in a nutshell..."

It was the creaking noise that brought him to his senses.

He had been asleep, dreaming of restless nights and starvation. Of the biting cold and the feeling of loss. Of not having a home. These were all a dark storm in his head, raining down one after the other, and pelting him with their stinging memories. It made his nostrils burn and his cheeks grow hot. It darkened the circles around his eyes.

Through the black uproar that was his subconscious, Erin could hear noises. The shuffling noises one hears when they are home alone and it is dark out - the sound of a body. The sound of a presence. It was a small tick in the back of his mind that, when fully registered, jolted the man awake with such a force, it sent his body falling to the ground with a loud
thump. For about six agonizing moments, his dream world was real, and a fear so insidious crawled its way up his spine, causing him to cry out in shame and loneliness. He was alone in a black world, and nothing hurt worse than that knowledge. However, one of his eyes came open, exposing the brilliant green color to the sunlight, causing the black pupil at its center to contract. He was back in the house, and the sun was just beginning to disappear over the horizon.

That was when he heard the noise again - a shuffling of the feet, right outside the front door. With a quickness, he stood, stumbling over himself and having to deal with a sudden rush of vertigo when gravity began to affect the blood to his brain. Another loud thump sounded when his shoulder bounced against a nearby wall. His nose wrinkled in annoyance.

I only took three large strides to make it to the door, whose door handle he grabbed and ripped open, trying to expose the perpetrator and/or threat.

"Why would I help you?"

Ana listened to the others speak to the other girl but she refused to take her eyes off her. She might not seem hostile but you never knew. She could be one of those outliers that had resorted to cannibalism. Or so the stories went. She wasn't about to let her guard down just because this girl said she wasn't a threat. One of the most important things Ana had ever learnt was that people lie. Because people only care about themselves. Humans as a race are as selfish as you can get.

Finally, the girl dropped her knife to the ground. Ana started to relax a bit but suddenly the girl moved towards her. Ana immediately stiffened again, once more resuming her defensive position in front of the group. She had no ties to them and yet she felt a strong need to protect this rag tag group of wanderers. It wasn't long before one of the men decided he needed to escape the tension and walked off and the other tried to diffuse the situation. But Ana still stood her ground.

The girl then started to ask about the monster. Well the crash really. She clearly hadn't been there, Ana would have seen her. But giving out that information might not be the best thing....

She had barely thought the words when the other man came back and gave a brief overview. But it was enough. The girl now knew and she might as well know everything. God knows she was probably going to ask anyway. People were so nosy. Ana looked and the girl and pointed to the ground without taking her eyes away.
"This is what we saw. Any ideas?" Who knew. Maybe the girl could be useful.
