Personally I've never been sectioned, however my understanding of it is that you're basically kept in the ward against your wishes. So your parent/s can't come pick you up from said ward mostly because the doctors there I suppose think you're 'too sick' (mental health wise) to know whats good for you, so they basically take anything from your room that can be used to harm yourself and you aren't allowed to not obey to orders given to you by doctors/psychiatrists/psychologists etc. If anyone has more experience in this than I do please correct me !!
