The Crystal Rivers Academy, located in the heavily populated state of New York, is an absolute playground for rich kids with too much money. State of the Art technology, some of the best teachers in the state, and many multiple clubs that end in them travelling around the country and the globe.

There are so many clubs. Sports including Tennis, Archery, Swimming, etc. Cosplay, History, Science, Medical, Game clubs, Robotics, and hell of a lot more.........questionable things. Extra-Dimensional Travelling, Time Travelling, and Supernatural Hunting. A good 80% of the students are in a club, while the other 20% are either in some form of college or a student leadership position (ie. Student Council and Disciplinary Committee)

This part of Crystal Rivers Academy focuses on the Supernatural Hunting, the Occult Club, which deals in everything supernatural. Ghosts, Spirits, Haunting cases, etc. The club goes around the country and help people out with their haunting cases. Possessions, Poltergeists, Hauntings, and cult investigations. These students work with the actual official Supernatural Crime Agency for guidance, training for a career in the field. Not all cases are bad, but as many are investigated as possible

This is a freeform RP, where students can make their own plots and cases. I don't want to lug my players around in a story (but I could). It's designed to be heavy mystery with (hopefully) some comedy in it. I also posted this in the Realistic section, where things will be a lot more realistic. Nothing that a human can't naturally do.

In this fantasy version, there will be multiple species available and the ability to call upon a single spirit that'll give them a single ability or do something for them for a price. For example, a character can call upon a spirit that'll give them the ability to see through walls, or will go there themselves to report who's there. All for a few blood drops. Nothing too dramatic. Magic will be a thing, but something that's there mostly as taboo and the reason the group will get called in.

I just need a bit more interest

I also posted this in the Realistic Section, for a more realistic form of this RP

No calling upon spirits. More Hunting than anything

I'd honestly be open to both settings - either realistic or fantasy. I think the fantasy version holds a bit more promise because of the ability to cross-over with the supernatural.

Otherwise, fingers crossed that people decide to join. :)

I feel the same, honestly, but the Realistic one has more interest. I'm actually about to go ahead and get that one started.

I plan on running both though if they both get the interest

I'll take a gander at the realistic one, but do keep us posted on here because I think this would be a good fantasy rp. :)

I'm up for both. By realistic do you mean it would be set in current times?
By realistic, I mean it would be a bit restricted in terms of abilities and different goals

In the Fantasy version, you could possibly summon and tame a few spirits of the dead or demonic, and use them (for a price). For example, You could possibly have a character that allows you to see through walls or something for the price of a certain amount of blood draining while it's being used

Traditional Magic (and the occult stuff even moreso) is taboo, and subject to the wrath of the Inquisition
It'll be set in some made-up place (though it says New York), or it'll be modern fantasy

In the Realistic version, it's more cultish and religious. Demons conjured are typically for personal gain like fame, wealth for the price of their soul and eternal damnation. Spirits are conjured by rituals or Ouija boards, but are typically used to communicate with those who have passed. They would need to be laid to rest or exterminated, before the method used attracts malevolent spirits or demons.
It'll be set in New York

Fantasy has a lot more versatility in terms of what you can do, which gives way to a lot more creative freedom for cases, players, and a lot more interesting but insanely unrealistic concepts that just wouldn't fly in the Realistic section. It also has better action.

Realistic typically has better stories. In storytelling, you typically do more with less to work with. It makes mystery cases just that. Character Development is easier and Drama is what makes the RP

Oh in that sense I think it would be better if it were set in the real world, in a modern school. I agree that each genre has its pros and cons. A very big pro for it being set in modern times is, of course, as you mentioned that it allows for better story telling. I do love the idea of it being set in New York. Mind you I've never been there but it is my dream city. I'm actually saving up to take a trip there.

Anyway whichever setting you go with I am there 100%
