Fantasy Crystal Cove

"Jake," he gestured to himself, "Will," his hand moved over to her, "Emily, and Letty," he said offering a pleasant smile. He wasn't entirely sure what this man had in mind about the Bloody Mary myth, but he seemed to be certain of himself about it, so for now he would go along. "Will and myself have quite the knack in studying the paranormal, so if there's something you could show up, that's be great," he said. An old man owning an antique shop, what one earth could he possibly have to show them, the original mirror that was in Mary's bedroom possibly? That would be cool, but not frightening. "So enlighten us, what do you have to show?"

The black blood inside him boiled at what she said to him. Donovan wanted to rip her head off and drink her blood from a plastic cup.

"Karma, Donovan. Karma will get this bitch." He reminded himself.

He walked forward and sat in one of the many longed backed chairs in her office. Crossing his legs and taking a puff of tobacco he glared at his mother with bloodshot eyes. To him, he saw nothing in her eyes but blackness. A deep cold abyss that held no love for him, was probably incapable of love period.

Donovan brushed a smudge of dirt off his shoes and sighed deeply. What was she plotting now? Why did she need the other demons? This would be interesting if anything else.

He smoked his cigarette and asked his mother, "What d'ya need them for?"

Letty got up from the ground, taking her blanket with her. She stared suspiciously at the man, and lifted a hand when Jacob said her name to present herself. A chill went along her spine, but she shook it off and backed up a few steps to see the man properly. He had a kind smile, but for some reason, she didnt quite trust him. Even though she had lived here for a little while, she had never been in this man, Laurence Hales shop. She crossed her arms, pulling her blanket with her, and raised an eyebrow at the man, trying to figure out what to expect. Why couldnt she trust him? He seemed innocent, and kind. Another chill ran down her spine and she made a grimace. Clutching her hands together. She was just paranoid. Nothing was wrong, she was probably just tired and cold.

"Will you get that damned thing out of your mouth," Lucy scoffed, walking around the desk. Manicured fingers ripping the cigarette from him and tossing it to the ground putting it out with the tip of her toe. "The smell keeps itself in the wood," she shook her head. She merely needed him to get two others for her, was that so much to ask of her son? Apparently it was to him. "I'm planning war, Don," Lucy said as it was blatantly obvious, walking back around to her desk and books, "and I need help. I would so kindly ask for your help, but you don't help me, all you do is disappoint me."

@TheUnburnt

Blue- I walk up to the group around the fire I look at jacob, will, letty and emily , nervous I rub my baby belly " dose anyone know where the store is?"

Giving a polite nod to Letty as she rose to observe him before the replied "I think it would be better suited as a surprise, but I assure you it should quite live up to expectations. That is unless you are far more versed in the supernatural than you let off." Noticing the time he checked his watch, beginning to run behind schedule he decided to bring this to a close as soon as possible. "But it seems it is time I take my leave, stop by my shop at lets say.. Three? This afternoon, I'll be sure to have everything prepared by then." After sorting things out the left the glow of the fire and headed back to his shop sensing someone would be stopping by sometime soon "Not a moment of peace nowadays.." He thought to himself as he strolled back, just missing the pregnant werewolf approaching the fire.

(Next post wont be for awhile, really late here, headed to bed.)

"Oh you have got to be joking..."

The statement was a near hiss though still containing the strong traces of an accent that should have faded centuries ago. Lilith was stalking back and forth through her room heel clad feet making muffled thuds on the carpet. She lifted on hand to her lips, biting lightly at the tip of her thumb. The ancient woman looked not a single day over 21. Slender hands swiftly tore the thick parchment into shreds balling them up before pitching them fully into the blazing fire that was going in the massive marble fireplace. Moving to her desk she grabbed the wine glass full of blood that she had abruptly sat down. Sinking into the soft high backed armchair she crossed her legs, leaning back. Lifting her glass to her lips she took a slow drink from it, savoring the sweet and slightly coppery taste on her tongue. Scarlet hued eyes stared into the flames as she sunk deeper into thought.

She had moved her coven out here to Crystal Cove seeking a peaceful respite for her family. Settling on the cliffs near the water in a large mansion of black stone with centuries of its own history had seemed like the perfect move. She cared little for the wolves and less so for the humans. But as long as they did not bother her then she would not bother them either. Of course she would still hunt humans as needed, but mostly her and her family fed not on blood but energy. Those times they did feed on blood it was from more or less willing subjects caught in the grip of their seductive ways. But of course there was one problem, there always was. This time it just happened to be in form of over ambitious demons.

Even the thought made her fangs itch. It was not that she despised demons, oh not at all, the two races were quite close after all. But she simply hated those that drew to much attention with their ways. That was what the demons did. Crystal Cove had a reputation for the supernatural, of course, but where rumors abounded it was far easier to hide in plain sight. But the demons were waging a bloody war and if there was one thing she hated it was pointless conflict. The moment it put her family in danger was the moment she would be forced to intervene. On top of that the Council had been pressuring her for her return to Transylvania, something she was not inclined to do, and questioning her coven and her methods. She was older than most of the weaklings on the Council so she had no real fear of them. They were just another annoyance. She sighed trying to soothe herself with another sip of blood. But her agitation could be felt like a living thing throughout the mansion; dark, prickly, and alive.

"I need to go for a walk..."

Donovan pushed back his chair and stood up. Turning he walked towards the window of the study. It was a very large and very beautiful window. A good 2 meters in height the window was monsterous. The border was made of gold and had intricate wave like carvings with beautifully handsome jewels throughout. It was paneled into ten smaller squares inside the window, outlined by more gold. On the very top of the window a golden statue of a bulls head rested. It had two large ruby's for eyes, i mean honestly this window was priceless. Mother said she had gotten it made as a gift from some guy named Baal. Whoever that was.

When he reached said window he placed gentle fingers on the golden border, feeling the coldness. He ran his hand down the side and turning he said to his Mother, "Fine."

And with a swift kick, shattered the glass to the window. The impact had been so strong the bulls head fell to the ground sending one of the rubys flying into a book case against the adjacent wall.

Donovan looked at his mother and winked. Without any other word he lept from the window, landing on the ground gracefully.

He walked out onto the road and turned left towards town.

"She shouldn't have spoken to me like that. Stupid whore." He said a loud while digging in his pockets for another Marlboro.

Will had watched the strange man without a word. He reminded her of the character in nearly every book, that owns an antique store but is deeply emerged in the supernatural. Nearly every story had them. She decided to let the group know, since she wasn't sure how many of them ever actually read any of those books. "You know, he seemed like the crazy person from pretty much every book. They usually have antique stores too, how crazy is that? But when the characters visit the store, something bad happens, they anger some demon or whatever, and suddenly they're neck deep in supernatural stuff." She perked up greatly and added, "I think we should go. Something interesting might happen, and even if it doesn't, nothing will have changed." She laughed at the thought of the man being some sort of supernatural creature. He seemed so ordinary it was almost absurd to think about.

Will turned to the girl that just arrived, "Of course. I can give you directions if you'd like. Or I can come with. It's not a problem." She noticed the girl rubbing her stomach, and frowned. Looking more closely, she could barely tell that the girl was pregnant. A wave of pity flooded through her, "Here, I'll come with you. What's your name?"

"Don't worry, Will. We won't go anywhere near the shop without you with us," Jacob promised. He had loved Will like a sister, their common interests allowing them to click very easily together in the short time that they had know one another. He enjoyed her company and hoped that she felt the same about it. "Don't you worry, I'll be sure to keep scaring Letty," he laughed giving Letty a playful nudge with his elbow. Being the only male in the house was fine with him, especially because he was very outspoken when it came to his sexuality, so he enjoyed comparing opinions about other men's butts. He enjoyed his women in the house but could never think of any of them any further then friends. If he did it felt weird.

"Donovan!" Lucy yelled as he jumped out of the now broken window, the flying ruby almost hitting her. She ran to the window as fast as her high heel clad feet would bring her -which was faster than someone would think- and stared at the broken glass around her feet. She bent over and picked up the bulls head with a sigh and plopped it on the chair. She wished that only once he would respect her a little more than what he did. A little more compassion towards her, was it so much to ask? Oh how the years have truly changed her boy and she wished that she could change him back.

With a long sigh, Lucy walked to the closet grabbing a broom and started to sweep up the shards on the floor so no one would cut themselves on it. Once it had been all cleaned she out the broom back and say back at her desk looking over the things that she would need to get.

Letty waved a goodbye at the man who had offered them a visit at his shop, leaving the group of friends with an unknown woman. Her eyes trailed along the womans postures, but stopped immediately at her belly. Was she..? Ohmy.. Yeah, she was definetely pregnant. She smiled gently when Will offered to go with her. Losing her balance a few steps as Jacob surprisingly nudged her elbow, she gave him a teasing look. "You wish! I'll kick your ass before that happens." she laughed back at Jacob, and gave him a weak punch to the shoulder. "We'll be waiting for you to come back before we go, okay?" she giggled to Will. "Keep me updated." she added and gave her an obscure look, the way she always did when one of them went off by themselves. She couldnt help but get worried if they would get back home safely. She loved this bunch already. They were like family. It would be terrible if something happened to them. That would be enough of her depressing thoughts. She shook her head and forced a smile to Will and the pregnant girl.

Matt took his phone out of the pocket, paying less attention to the road than he probably should. He didn't care, though. If he hit something, or crashed, he would survive it. It would hurt like hell, sure, but he wouldnt die. Pain was overrated anyways. He opened a GPS-app on his phone, typing "Crystal Cove" in to the search field, with his other hand on the leather-covered wheel of his mustang. The search-symbol kept going for a few seconds before he got a hit. He scrolled down the app-screen and found the estimated time to drive there. "There we go. Two hours? Let's make that one." He mumbled to himself in a careless tone. He loved challenges, and since there was noone else there to challenge him, he'd have to do it himself. While tapping his thumb to the wheel, he hummed a tune to the beat.

"You'd better not even think about it," Will threatened jokingly. "If I find out you went without me, I swear I will find a demon to send after you and make your deaths as painful as possible." She then thought about her threat for a moment, trying to decide if it was good enough. "And then," she added menacingly, before breaking into laughter, "I'll make sure to write it in my book, so you all look like weaklings who couldn't handle a puny demon." She laughed at the two of them. They were her family now, and they needed to stick together. Letty's concern warmed Will's heart, but hoped it was over nothing. She used to be more paranoid after hearing the legends, but since nothing was happening, had started to relax a lot more. "I'll be fine. Nothing to worry about." She smiled and waved, before turning back to the pregnant girl. "C'mon," she said gently. "It's this way."

Jev took slow steps as she walked along the water line of the lake. She had grown rather tired of Juliet and Lilith. Not that she didn't like them, but she'd spent the past 40 years with only the two of them for company, and it tended to get rather exhausting. Every once in a while she needed some time alone to clear her head. She's much rather explore the woods, but that was the territory of the Werewolves, and she knew better than to mess with their space.

The water barely lapped against the ballet flats she was wearing. The water was cool; she'd dipped her hand in earlier. She thought about taking a dip, but had changed her mind. Who knows what could happen if she was caught off-guard.

Jev jumped, listening intently. She could have sworn she heard something--or someone.

Donovan walked down the old straight rode puffing away on his cigarette. This road really was terribly old with lots of holes and cracks in the cement. Some plants grew hither and tither looking like islands in a sea of black. On either sides of him where tall Pine and Oak trees. Random openings showed what looked like a stream of some sorts. There where no birds..in fact he didn't see any sign of life. He seemed to be alone. Donovan kicked a rock hitting a nearby oak with a THUNK!

He hadn't even given second thought to what his mother had said. Preparing for war? There hasn't been a war in these parts in a long, long time. His mother was probably just being overly dramatic like she normally is. On her demon period no doubt.

"Dammit, i should have brought my Ipod." He spoke, speaking to no one.

Blowing smoke out his nose he thought aimlessly and chaotically about nothing and everything. He was on auto pilot now, walking at the same pace but not paying attention to anything. Lost in the dark places of his mind. Periodically taking drags from is cigarette and kicking things in the street.

Jev walked further along the water. Up a ways, it ran along an old, cracked road. She inched up towards it silently, stepping carefully through the underbrush. As she got closer, she paused, smelling the air. Was that--tobacco? Jev continued towards the road cautiously, careful not to make any noise. As she got closer, she saw movement, and ducked behind a tall tree, peering around it at the person walking along the road.

It was a man, but she couldn't quite tell how old. He was kicking rocks and stones around, making a decent amount of noise. Jev's nose crinkled at the lingering smell of cigarette smoke.

"Nice to meet you, Blue. That's a pretty name. I'm Willow, but I usually go by Will. This is Jake," she gestured to the dark-haired boy next to her. "Letty, and Emily." She pointed at the other two. Will smiles a kind smile at her, still feeling pity for this young, pregnant girl. "Shall we?" She gestures in the rough direction of the town.

Blue - i smile timidly and wave i notice her looking at my belly " would you like to feel? Sometimes thhe baby kicks "i ignored the pity in her eyes biting. my lip

Willow hesitated, surprised by Blue's offer. Will liked most children, so she decided that it would be okay. "Could I? If it isn't weird or anything... I'd kind of like to." She blushed, slightly embarrassed. This was a girl she just met, after all. But she seemed to be perfectly ordinary, and plenty nice enough. Will reached out a hand carefully.

Pushing open the storefront door and sighing Azazel went about preparing the store for its daily customers. Hiding away any dangerous artifacts and bringing the ornate and overdecorated nick-knacks that the humans seem to love so much to the front. Thinking to himself he seemed to have gotten a bit ahead of himself, not actually having anything that related to Bloody Mary in particular... A hallucinogen could give the desired effect he supposed, slipping something into a cup of tea perhaps? Pushing those thoughts aside as he finished up he begun to head upstairs to give the newspaper a read while he was alone.

Trailing a finger through the sand, Emily watched as the two girls walked off. She turned to Jacob, a smirk on her lips, "Who knows, maybe if we do go to that store, we'll end up being the subject of one of those stories guys like you tell around fires." Her finger came across a rock, it's surface rough and jagged. With a small flick of her wrist, she tossed the stone into the nearby water. "Except maybe our story would actually be scary," she added with an even bigger smirk.

Moving here had been everything she had hoped it would be. She had finally found the independence that she'd been wanting, no needing, for years. When she had received the invitation from Jacob, Emily had practically finished packing before she'd even read the entire message. She didn't know what was to come next, but she didn't really care. For now, Emily was content.

What a night for a run...

Lilith smiled to herself taking another breath of cool night air. She was moving impossibly fast, practically flickering through the trees. She gracefully bypassed low hanging branches and tangled roots and underbrush without so much as a hitch in speed. Of course it wasn't necessary for her to travel like this, she could just as easily have taken a more convenient method and given herself over to the shadows, blending in with them to facilitate and even faster rate of travel. But there was something to be said for the act of running. It cleared ones mind. Moving deeper into the woods she suddenly made a turn, now running along the border that separated vampire and wolf territories. The alliance was an uneasy one, but necessary to preserve the peace, and not one she was to fond of breaking. Chuckling she continued her midnight run, enjoying the feeling of freedom. But now she was hungry. She tilted her head, scenting the air a bit. Perhaps she would have a bit of time to hunt, it would be better than another glass of bottled blood back at the mansion.
