Complexities of The Opposing

Helena stood at the top of Mount Everest. Every day she would go there to be away from the Demon Realm and just smoke a cigarette. She liked the excerise and the cold temperature and thin air still made her lightheaded even after doing it for almost 5 years. For her it was like a dialy training regiment to help her body cope with difficult situations. After she was done her cigarette, she left to go back to the realm. She had a mission to do. Take out a group of worshippers who were planning to sacrifice themselves to some demon. She scoffed. They could sacrifice themselves alright. To her crossbow. She licked her lips with anticipation. Humans were her favorite prey. Thye were always begging for mercy. Obviously, they didn't know Helena of the Red Sea. A no mercy kind of woman.

She arrives in a city of hustle and bustle and could feel the leering eyes of the men and women alike staring at her. She flipped her hair and gave them bedroom eyes. Perhaps she would go a indulge in a little play afterwards. If they would survive that is. Some of them had a particularly high tolerance of pain. Even enjoyed it. Those were the kind she loved to toy with. Reaching an apartment building, she walked in up to the designated spot and discovered a group of humans chanting around a circle. Their eyes widened as they saw her form. She smirked. "Well, well. Look at all the sacrificial lambs who want to play with me." She pulls out her crossbow and shoots one of the five of them in the neck. He slumped over and they rest of them began to scream. She shivered in excitement. "Yeah," she said with a deep, sultry voice, "Scream for me."

She silenced them all in a mere 10 seconds and left out of the building. She was never seen and they were all dead. Typical. Sighing, she went back into the city. It was noon and her mission was over she had little to do now and could only wait for her next assignment. She was bored and their death was only semi entertaining. She might have to become a mercenary again to rid her self of such a mundane routine. (done)

Sebastian sighs, feeling really bored. He doesn't really mind guarding the northern bastion, the scenery is absolutely wonderful, especially since mount everest is there. But he could use a change of scenery, even for just a day. Leaving the gates, he went down to the world of the mundane. "I'll only be gone for a minute." He said to himself. He went down to a nearby village, hiding his wings and angelic splendor. He appears to be a normal citizen, no one really special. He just walked around the town, going nowhere in particular.

Helena sat at a bar when she suddenly felt herself go rigid. She sniffs the air and her eyes narrowed. Finally something amusing has appeared. An angel is in our midst. She thought about reporting it but she wanted all the glory to herself. She stood up and goes outside to find the angel who dared come into town while she was here. Casually walked around, she spots him. How could she not. No normal human stoood that tall in a crowd. She edges over to him slowly like a cat about to pounce on a mouse. When she reaches his side, she smirks. "Well, well, well you are a long way from home o winged one." she said sarcastically. "To what do I owe the pleasure of killing you?"

(done)

Sebastian jumped back, almost drawing his weapons when he realized that there are mortals surrounding them. He forced himself to calm down, which is quite hard especially because he have never even seen a demon before. "What do you want, damned one?" He asks, his icy blue eyes glaring at her crimson eyes. He moves away from the crowds, towards the woods.

(done)

She laughed haughtily at him. "Aww, haven't you ever seen a demon before?" She followed him towards the woods. She didn't skip a beat. She saw that he didn't even notice her presence and was startled. Judging by his delicious looking aura, he might actually give her a little bit of a fight. When they reach the woods she pulled out her crossbow. "So you wanna do this? Or you could go running back upstairs and tell your brothers like a bitch."

(done)

"I could do that, but it would be more pleasureble for me to just present your head." He said, revealing his true angelic form. His whole body is glowing, like a lantern in the dark. In his hands was a scythe, an unlikely weapon for an angel. The handle was 6 feet long and it has engravings on it. The blade, which is 4 feet long, is made of blessed cold iron which is especially deadly to demons. "Your crossbow is no match for my scythe." He said, twirling his weapon. He is dancing a dangerous dance, a dance of death and blood. His wings, which is as hard as diamond ad edge that can cut through metal, is outspread, wanting to slice the demon in half.

(done)

She shivered from excitement as she looked at him standing there with the scythe. "Oh my what a beautiful and totally unsuitable weapon for an angel. But you are right." She throws down her cross bow and pulls out her katana. She held the sheath in one hand and the blade in the other. She laughed again. "You won't be taking my head today but I think I will take your scythe." She lunged forward at him with her katana. The sheath was also made out of metal. She used it as a blunt weapon and smashed it into his ribs. (done)

He gets thrown back by the attack, which caught him unprepared. Although it really didn't do any permanent damage, his pride has been wounded, being caught of guard by the demon. He continued to twirl his scythe and wings, slowly approaching the demon. (done)

She circled him as he approached her. Truth be told, that sycthe was monstrous and if he knew what he was doing she might actually get hurt. She might actually get hurt. That thought made her body tremble in ecstasy and excitement. She then scoffed. No use in getting that excited over an angel no less. "Anytime now slowpoke. I might fall asleep before you actually amuse me. Maybe this was a waste of time after all."

(done)

He was insulted by her remark, he felt like he was shot in the chest. How dare she insult an angel!. Brimming with anger, he set the scythe on flames, making it more terrifying than it once was. He let out a battle cry as he charged the demon, wildly swinging his scythe at her, at the same time observing her movements.

"You plan to set a demon aflame." She smiled at him maliciously. She dodged his charge but no unscathed. His blade scratched her left side and she was now bleeding. She started laughing out loud. "I have to give it to you boy, I haven't had this much fun in awhile." She licked her lips. "You amuse me. Continue to play with me okay?" She moved towards him and pulling out a knife simultaneously. She dug it into his left side. "Your turn to bleed." She said smirking.

He winced, feeling the knife pierce his side, but he kept himself from crying out in pain. He clutched his side, bleeding continuously. Seeing that he'll die if he let too much blood seep out, he set him hand on flame and burned the wound, the smell of sizzling flesh wafted through the woods. This time, he let out a grunt, the pain being too much for him to handle silently. Sweating hard and panting, he turned to look at the demon, his sneer unnerving. "Who said that this is an ordinary flame? This is angel's fire, directly powered by an angel's essence. This is especially deadly to demon scum such as yourself." He said, shooting a fireball at her direction, quickly following up with a lightning bolt.

She dodged the fireball but wasn't quite fast enough to dodge the lightning bolt which brought her to her knees. She hissed from the pain of lightning passing through her body. She gasped for air. "Damn, it seems we have to end this quicker than expected." She was writhed with pain and could barely stand but she refused to drop the smirk from her face. She was actually enjoying the fight. She tried to stand back up but her knees buckled and she ended up kneeling again. "Perhaps it was wrong to underestimate you Mr. Angel Boy, but this isn't the last you have seen of me." With the last of her strength she bolted deep into the woods. She kept running til she couldn't see the end or the beginning of the woods. "Shit," she muttered to herself. That fight took alot out of her and now she was bleeding and in alot of pain. She always carried a small vial of potion with her for moments like this where her amusement got the best of her. She drank the potion and slumped next to a tree. Rarely did anyone get the better of her. She would have to get some new weaponry. Angel-fighting weaponry.

At first, he gave chase, not wanting to lose the demon. But, after awhile, he lost her. The demon clearly knew the forest, where as he has no clue where he's going. Cursing loudly, he sat down a fallen tree, breathing heavily and sweating. Not even training camp made him this tired and drained, and believe it or not, they do some pretty tiring things. Maybe it's because she's a demon. It's the first tome he ever seen one, much less fight one! He'd handled lesser demons, demons who are monstrous looking and unable to look like a human. No, this demon is a of a higher circle in hell. But, he doesn't think that's the only reason. He felt something else, something close to... joy. He shook his head, scandalized that he could think of such things. "Holy shit." He said, remembering that he left his post. He quickly flew back to the northern bastion, hoping Michael did not find out that he left.

Helena smirked as she saw him flying back towards the sky. Her side still hurt and she was barely staying conscious after that lightning attack but she had one thing left up her sleeve. She pulled out her crossbow aimed and shot at the angel. Sighing, she wasn't sure if it got him but she headed back towards the city. She needed medical attention and quickly. That potion was only temporary.

Sebastian frantically tried to fly faster, hoping Michael failed to notice him missing. But then from the corner of his eyes, he saw something rushing at him. It was thin, long, and it had a sharp edge. Too slow to dodge, the crossbow bolt hit his right between left shoulder, just above the wings. Letting out a loud and painful scream, Sebastian plummeted to the ground, landing with a loud crash! And knocking himself unconscious, right in front of the demon.

Helena gaped at the angel who landed right before her. She started to giggle seeing his sad, pathetic form. But as she laughed, she remembered the fun she had while fighting him. He amused her and for that she decided agaonst her better judgment to take him with her to her place in the human worlds. Luckily it wasn't too far from that forest. She lifted him with ease and walked throigh the forest into the back of what appeared to be an abandoned building but it was actually her home. She had bought the place for cheap and redecorated the inside. Humans couldn't see it. It was perfect seclusion.

She heaved him onto her satin red couch. She walked towards a cabinet and revealed many different viles and bandages. Bring them with her she dressed her wound first. After relaxing a bit. She tended to his wing and ribcage. It was an ashame in her mind to let such entertainment go to waste. she sat on the cpuch opposite opened a beer and waited. For all this trouble, he owed her onw.

After a few hours, probably 2 hours, Sebastian regained his consciousness. He tried to immediately stand up, but a piercing head ache made him lie down again. "Fuck! That really hurts!" He thought to himself, holding his head. He slowly sat up, finding this less painful. When his eyes got used to the lighting, he saw that he was in someone's house, and a nice one indeed. His left wing was numb, unable to feel it. "Where am I?" He ask himself. Then, as if things weren't bad enough, the demon was there, sitting opposite him. "Where are we?! Why did you take me here?!" He ask, trying to stand up, his legs weak and shaking.

"Aww well aren't you adorable? Still acting like you own the place when I could just kill you." She said smirking at him. She pushed him down on to the couch effectively straddling him. "My name is Helena. I saved your pathetic little existence because you amuse me. This is my home. It resides somewhat never the woods. I brought you here because it is undetectable. Now shut up and go back to sleep." She got off him and walked to the fridge and pulled out another beer.

Sebastian was really surprised to hear what she said. Did she just say that she saved me? That is really weird, even for a demon. She said her name is Helena. He must admit, that name is pretty beautiful. He blushed really hard when she straddled him, even though it was only for a couple of seconds. Knowing nothing else to do, he decided to take her advice. "Thank you, Helena." He quietly said as he closed his eyes, hoping she didn't hear him.

She rolled her eyes. Stupid angel boy. Thanking her when she merely thinks of him as amusement. If he could be obedient maybe he could be her next toy. She shook her head. Nah, he would be no fun broken. She decided that she would show him the slightest bit of mercy after all he was able to injure her. Sighing she decided that it was better to go her usual method and just enjoy herself.

That being said she went to take a shower and change her clothes. She changed into black cargo pants with a red outlining and redband silver chains. She woreba simple black middrift top and put her hair up inba messy bun. Now shoeless and weaponless she was relaxed and awaited the angel's blue eyes.

He slept for an hour, snoring and mumbling in his sleep. He had a really unnerving dream. Michael fighting him, a bright light and a deep voice talking to him, and, the most horrible of all, his wings being torn off. He sat up, waking up from his nightmare. He's sweating hard and panting, trying to regain his composure. He saw the demon, and strangely enough, the sight of her calmed him down. "Hey." He said in a weak voice.

"It seems like your wounds are mostly healed now. So now Its time for information," she said smirking, "I need your name and rank. You are not the first angel that I have played with but you are the first that has bested me in some way. That," she says with a dark smile, "Amuses me. I would assume that you were seraphim but none of them are stupid enough to come down here and walk amongst humans. In fact, they rarely show their face in the human world. So who in the hell are you, blondie?"

He sat up, feeling dizzy but otherwise alright. He knows that he's suppose to fell anger towards her, hate would have also been appropriate, but after what you did, after helping me, he just can't bring himself to get angry. He smile at her, amused at her questions. "Yes, I am not a seraphim, they rarely do show their faces here, preferring to stay up there." He said, pointing up. "Although I am close to being one. I am Sebastian, warden of the Northern Bastion, and, uh, Angel of Youth and Innocence." He said, blushing at his last title. It was not chosen by him, it was given to him.

Helena laughed outright at him. She couldn't stifle the laughter as it bellowed through the house. "Wh-what kinda of title is that?" She said in-between giggles. "Youth and Innocence? what..." she said continuing to laugh. After laughing for awhile she settled down. "Sebastian, huh? I will have to remember your name. But hearing your title we are ranked about the same. It would seem that I need to train some more." she said thoughtfully. "I can't even tell anyone that I was injured by the Angel or Youth and Innocence. I would loose respect and I would have to kill my brethren." She said sighing. What the fuck kind of title is that? She didn't even know how to deal with the situation at hand. She just nursed an angel back to health and he didn't even have a cool title for her to use. Sigh. "So what do you plan to do now? Don't you have a post or something?"

He blush really hard. He's really embarrassed with that title, even the other angels makes fun of him. Some of them have some really cool and epic titles, but all I got was youth and innocence. I remembered crying once, refusing to go to training since others make fun of me. Michael said, however, that I was the strongest, that an angel's strength is not with his physical strength, but with the purity of it's soul. But still, it couldn't hurt to have an awesome title. "Yeah, I have a post, just above Mt. Everest. But since I can't even feel my wing, I guess I'll be crashing at your place then." He said, looking at her.

Helena grimaced. she should have just killed him. Once again, he need for amusement had gotten her into a situation. "Did you say everest?" She wrinkled her nose. "Eww, the angel of youth and innocence watches over my favorite smoking and drinking spot. I will never feel clean again." She said with disdain. Truth be told that was the only place she could be alone and think. She enjoyed training there. She sighed. "Alright Bas, thats what i am calling you now. Deal with it. You can stay but you have to find ways to amuse me."

He just looks at her, not really understanding the cause of her annoyance. "So? You can just find another drinking and smoking spot." He said, thinking that it will solve the problem. "It's not that hard to find a new one. And besides, why do you care? You can always drink and smoke even if an angel is watching. You are a demon after all."

Her eyes narrowed and she growled at him. He hadn't been there for a whole day amd he was already pissing her off. "Its like being watched while bathing by a dirty old man. Its awkward, wrong and disgusting." She sighed and rolled her eyes. he wouldn't understand so she gave up on it. He was just a stupid angel anyway. "Well I am going to the store. I am out of beer, cigarettes and food. Stay here." She said standing up. She put her shoes on and proceeded through the door.

He smiled, amused at her answer. "Jeez, I didn't know you guys value your privacy so much, even if you don't respect for the privacy of others." He said, lying down. He never understood demons. Up there, back in the heavens, they were taught demons are beings of chaos and evil. But now, he's starting to doubt it. "Maybe they're just like us, just a little different." He thought, closing his eyes. "Sure, I'm not going anywhere." He called out to Helena before she left.

Helena started walking to the store. She was cruel, merciless and a wee bit bloodthirsty yet she was harbouring an angel in her home. It was absurd and no one could find out about it although maybe if she said she wanted to make him fall it would be accepted. She waled into the store and picked up an assortment of things when her phone rang. She decided to ignore it until she got back. She asked the cashier for her usual, paid and headed back. She walked back into her home and checked her phone. Helena's eyes narrowed and she scoffed. "I gotta go to work. I should be back soon." She said sighing.

Sebastian woke up, bored out of his mind. He tried standing up, which is manageable now. He got the remote and turned it on, going to a random channel. This is one of the advantages of mortals, technology. The higher beings, angels and demons, do not have such luxury. Although Michael and the others discourage the younger ones from using technology, Sebastian can't help himself. It was very entertaining, so entertaining in fact that he momentarily forgot his troubles, both the demon and Michael.

Helena had just finiahed off a group of lesser demons trying to border hop without her permission. Apparently, they knew she wasn't in the Realm at the moment. Not that she was there all the time. But for them to try and invade her territory was suicidal. No one entered without her intention. Surveying the area, she decided to put up new precautions. She would link surveillance with her phone. Sighing, she returned back to her place only to see him watching tv.

"Found a way to entertain yourself I see." She said rolling her eyes. This had been going on for about 3days now and somehow it was becoming normal for her. She couldn't quite explain what she was feeling only that it was not painful.

All day, for the last 3 days, he just watched tv, waiting for his wing to heal. Most mortals would have been really bored by now, but he is totally mesmerized by the tv that he never even felt boredom. "Hey, how's your day?" He ask, looking at her and smiling. Apparently, he got used to their situations, not even thinking of her as evil. He knew that's she's a demon, but he still owes her his life.

Helena scoffs at him as she sits down with a beer in hand. "People keep trying to invade my territory so people keep dying." She said matter-of-factly. She took a swig of it and smiled. "You being here is far less annoying than I thought it would be. You are not like other angels I have met." She sighed. "How is your wing looking? You have been gone an awfully long time. I am sure you are in big trouble."
