Fantasy Comets

-FOR STUDENTS-

Though the day has just begun, it seems to drag on as the bus sways sightly. The purr of the engine soft in contrast to the pelting rain outside. You still have a decent length of time ahead of you, and the ironiclly named driver, Merlin, wasn't adding much to the current mood. You shift, the seats thin cloth padding threatening to rip at anymore then the barest movement. The occasional drip of the furious rain outside was sure to make a puddle by the time you reached your destination.

You sigh and close your eyes, bracing yourself for a exhausting trip.

-FOR TEACHERS-

Everyone is trying to prepare for the students that are about to arrive. People are busy prepping classrooms and practicing various abilities, some more nervous than others. The office was laying out schedules for the students and passing out hours for teachers. (If we are using a 7 period day, 6 no including lunch. Then teachers have one period prep.) This was bound to be an interesting chain of events.

Lucian walked around the halls of the grand academy, creating welcome banners and other decorations using his ability. "Ladadee, ladadaa, ladadumm... ladadee, ladadaa, ladadumm..." the headmaster hummed. Out of all the teachers at Aurora, he was the only one happy. It was clearly because he had the easiest job at the time. Not like computer work was any easier, of course; it was just more tedious and excruciatingly boring. He stopped by a window which happened to give him a view o the comets, the things that gave humanity a second chance. The largest one was made completely of pink ice and appeared to have something encased in it.

Never noticed that before. Oh, well. He looked ahead of himself and was about to continue his job until a cloud of mist formed and rammed into him, sending the man flying. He caught himself on the wall and looked at the mist, which had finished scuplting itself into a unicorn. "I swear, these things are gonna kill the children." He landed from the wall onto the floor and made a few movements with his hands, ending them in a swipe. A golden glyph formed under the beast and blasted it into the roof, forcing it to explode into mist and vanish.

He adjusted his sweater and continued to walk, placing more decorations on the walls.

Riley bustled about her classroom, making sure her preparations were all in place. She looked out her window in a glance, then smiled. She couldn't wait for her students to come. Straightening the desks, she looked over to the walls. They were covered in different glass decor, and some mirrors scattered around. She walked to the door, then opened it. As she took a step out, she saw the headmaster get attacked by a mist unicorn. She quickly retreated back into her own classroom, stifling laughter. After taking a moment to get that off her chest, she sat down at her desk, waiting for the students. She toyed with a glass doll that could somehow morph into a dragon, then back again. How incredibly boring it was, to wait. But, there was nothing she could do about it for now. She sighed loudly, putting down the glass figure. Her wings bobbed behind her, flowing and moving in pieces to avoid the chair she was sitting in. She flicked one of the pieces, making it shoot one way, then slingshot back into position. She sighed, and continued to wait.

Babylon Cypress

At the end of her first year at Aurora she had returned home to Maliki, their reunion was a joyful one, full of tears and hugs, though Babylon couldn't help but notice that her adoptive father was turning into an old man. Riding on the bus into her second year at Aurora Academy was the exact opposite of what Babylon had planned. Not only did she want to arrive before any other students, but sitting in a rickety box of moving metal didn't exactly enthrall her. She had planned to move closer to the Academy during her break, but her stubborn father refused to leave his lonely home because of his water. It would have sounded silly to Baby if she hadn't been able to relate, but even she wouldn't have left a house her plants had grown into, it would have became a permanent attachment. It was uncomfortably cold on the bus due to the blasting air conditioning, courtesy of the grouchy Merlin, and the stormy weather outside. If her fingers weren't numb she assumed that they would have been stiff sticks of ice. She wet her chapped, pink lips before shifting herself in her seat. She managed to ward off other bording students by taking up the entirety of her chosen seat, but her tail made it uncomfortable to remain in such a position for so long. Baby pulled her long, thorny vine out from under her and draped it over the dark blue seat her back pressed against. She rested her head back onto the cool window, still unsure it if was glass or a transparent plastic, and allowed her thoughts to wander.

'I wonder if I'll be assigned to the same dorm as last time? I remember the staff wasn't too happy to find out about the roots that broke through and grew into the floor. Last year I managed to talk my way into my own dorm, but I have a feeling I won't be so lucky this year. Hopefully whoever I have to live with is, at the very least, bearable. If I happened to have to bunk with someone less than my standards,' the sides of her lips twitched upwards, 'maybe some poisonous berries will just happen to drop directly into their mouth while they're asleep'. It was an empty threat, but speaking it to herself made her feel better.

Cypress exhaled, the leaves on her arms quivering slightly from the gusts of cold air blowing directly at her. Eventually the rattling rust bucket finally slowed to a stop and pushed open it's shaky doors with a drawn out hiss. Babylon slowly rose to her feet and pushed herself into the isle, indifferent of the people she was pushing in front of. She practically threw herself out of the bus when she shuffled her way to the steps. The rain pelting against her skin was a welcomed feeling, mostly because she was soaking it up hungrily through her pores. Her extensive tail curled around a the thick pad she wore on her knee. It was difficult to ensure the safety of herself and others when a ten foot long plant with the sharpest thorns she had ever seen grew from her rear, which is why she usually kept it wrapped around herself. Eventually wrapping it around her waist became too painful, so she bought a support for her knee and repurposed it as a protective covering.

Riley watches the bus pull in, with an array of different students. She smiles pleasantly. Finally, they arrive. She gets up from her chair, dusts herself off, makes sure her wings are properly adjusted, then walk to the door. She put one hand on the door, then turned it with determination. As she steps out into the hall again, she waits for the students, watching the halls and waiting for the noises of conversations to come buzzing to reality. She remembers last year, of how that one troublesome student had to be transferred out. That kid was bad. She shakes her thoughts back to the here and the now. Her gaze comes back to the halls, which start ringing with the voices of young people alike.

Robyn was sitting near the back of the bus, her hands rubbing together as she tried to create warmth for herself. Of course, she was probably the warmest of them all, since her body was practically a heater. She was dreading leaving the bus and going into the rain, as not only did it excessively weaken her, but it didn't feel too good against her skin either. Robyn pulled up her soft, black leather jacket over her shoulders, right before the bus lurched to a stop. This would be her first year: new teachers, new impressions, new friends, and most of all, a new start. Like always, she was the last to get on the bus, and the last to get off. Robyn stood, hitting her head on the low hanging roof of the bus. After cursing under her breath, she made her way down and off of the bus. She grimaced as the rain hit her face and hands, quickly shoving them into her jean pockets. The rain slowly started to grow heavy, which made things much worse for Robyn.

Soon, she was at a full on run, trying to get away from the rain that burned against her skin. She made it into the school with the first few people, sighing in deep relief. 'Clean slate, Robyn. No enemies just yet. Be cool.' She thought on repeat. Robyn was nervous about this new school, and the people in it. She feared everyone would be rich snobs or goody-two-shoes, which wasn't okay with Robyn. With another heavy sigh, Robyn continued to stroll down the hallways, following the crowd of students.

Krista slowly strode out of the rickety bus, she seemed unfased by the bad weather and looked up at the storm clouds. When she blinked a third eyelid slid over her eyes to protect them from the rain, it also helped when flying, once it started to pour she began walking towards the school her wings folded up behind her looking whispy, like how the clouds rolled when the wind blew. Now dripping wet she glanced around the busy hallways and weaved her way around students to get to an area that was thinner for her to get in the cafeteria for orientation...'do they even have that?' She thought herself reaching a hand up to pushed some wet hair out of her face.

Kathliana pulls her hood up to protect her hair from the rain before exciting the bus. She looks around at all the students heading for the school. Weaving her way through the crowd she keeps her head down trying to stay dry and avoid distractions. Entering the building she pulls her hood down freeing her curls, she stops to make sure her tentacles are safely hidden within her hair. She walks with the crowd hoping they'll lead her where she needs to be to get her schedule.

The bus ride was long, well not that Hagdon could tell for most of it he was asleep managing to find a decent spot to scrunch himself into. This was his first year at the school despite his age, and was excited to meet new people. Hagdon could honestly say he was excited to meet new people, and hopefully make some new friends. Hagdon woke with a small start as the bus pulled up to the academy, and he slowly got up to get off the bus, not noticing it was raining until he stepped into it. Still even the uncomfortable rain not enough to keep him from looking at the academy in wonder. As he entered the crowded hall he really didn't know where to go at this point, so he just sort of wandered the halls, saying hello to everyone he saw. Waiting for some sort of mysterious announcement to tell him where to go.

Dysis wandered out of her room, the mass of students in the halls all filtering to the auditorium for the classic 'welcome' speech and instructions on how to collect your schedule. As he gaze swept over the lot of them, she wondered silently who she would be teaching. Though whoever it may be, it was sure to be an interesting year due to the variety of appearances she saw, and was sure that there was much more than that alone to look forward too.

(Sorry for the length, this was sorta rushed)

Noah stepped off of the bus carefully, rain pelting him and matting down his hair. He walked at a slow, casual pace as he observed all the other students. They looked like a wild sea of happy and nervous faces accompanied by a cacophony of talking and conversation. A lot of the students seemed bigger than him. He wondered if any of them would try to mess with him or intimidate him in some way.

He eventually made it to a place that was covered and the rain could no longer reach him. He patted his clothes down and shook around his hair to get rid of excess water. It didn't make much of a difference but it was better than nothing. As he watched all the other students he wondered to himself, Just how powerful are some of these guys? Will any of them be a match for me?

Krista was standing by the autatorim door and opened it with a loud squeak of the metal, which was only to get everyone's attention... She hoped it work, her hair was still dripping but her clothes seemed dryer her wing though looked as if they had not gotten wet in the first place. She looked around at all the other wet kids who where talking in loud excited voices, this was starting to give her a headache. Her eyes flicked and she noticed some other kids who where quiet like her, she waited to see if anyone else would notice and get the other door as kids flowed into the auditorium next to her.

Jaecer found himself at the entrance. He'd been given directions to simply observe the students. He still wasn't sure what job he even had here. Combat instructor seemed like a good one or simply a teacher's assistant, nothing really mattered he was a freelance worker. It just so happened that his next job was at a school. Still it bugged him not knowing the details of his current job. Watching the students Jaecer noticed a slime moving about the puddles. He quickly dispatched it causing a small stir among the students. Most simply rushed inside, others wondered what happened, but there was one in particular you seemed to be watching the watcher.

Jaecer was bored now and didn't like the sudden draw of attention. He moved inside the building and began drying off students in a manner most wouldn't notice, wouldn't want anyone getting sick now. To most he might actually look like a student despite his age. He shrugged the thought away as he continued his little exercise walking down the hall following the flow of students.

(If anything is wrong, I'll fix it.)

Kat followed the flow of students to the auditorium, noticing a girl holding one of the doors open she moved to pull the other open. She smiled shyly at the other girl through the crowd of kids moving between them.

@Wild Born

Krista blinked seeing a girl had indeed opened the other door and was now watching her and smiling at her through the crowd...suddenly she felt herself being dried and looked around brows furrowed, once she spotted Jaecer drying off wet kids she watched him
