  appearance.

  beauty if found in the eye of the beholder. unless the beholder was laying eyes on daniel lyrico. than everyone saw some ounce of his beauty. a man as lean as him standing tall to just an astonishing 6 foot 3 inches. Sandy brown hair with choppy ends and bangs swept to the side, with a little bit of washed out/grown out blond on the ends. when his bangs dont fall into his eyes; you can tell their a bright crystal blue with small flecks of gold near the center. Hypnotizing almost to stare at them for too long. Maybe thats why most people fall at his feet.

  daniels skin is a warm tanned, adored by clusters of freckles; long the bridge of his nose and cheeks are the ones commonly seen. Sometimes you'll see the ones on his shoulders and arms, and the ones down his body certain people see but not often. His nails are always always painted some colour, its a wow factor to him. The only scars on his body are on his shins from a biking accident in his youth, trying to jump a railing which ended with his falling and skinning both his shins rather badly. His only tattoo is on his spin and it read 'VERTIGO" after his favourite music artists EDEN's hit album VERTIGO. Written in the same font and style as is it on the album art. He doesn't have any piercings or anything despite wanting some; he's actually scared of the needles.

  persona.

  like any other human, daniel has certain ways of acting, reacting and how he carries himself. due to his nature he's rather relaxed, calm and collected. he's level headed despite everything, and isnt afraid to take a risk (most of the time) he's extremely normal with pushing out of his comfort zone and conquering things that scare him (unless it comes to needles; not thats an uphill battle). he's really good with his words and a little too confident and charismatic for his own good. he often accidentally flirts with everyone, no whatever what and led to a lot of issues in the past.

  and even ignoring all of that, daniel holds a number of likes & hobbies, including but not limited too : swimming, hiking, camping, video gaming, listening to music, modeling for his friends, social media, cooking, and cooking for others, competitions / being competitive, just hanging out, watching the sun set/rise, cloud watching / sky watching, video games again because its his passion & his job. and listening to podcast / being on some. (job interviews go brrrt)

  although, his fears and dislikes is a similarly long list. his biggest fear is needles, getting his tattoo only happened because he couldnt see it since it was on his back but he felt the pain youch. being alone, and not knowing where he is? terrifying, doesnt like, and a fear. getting lost, people bringing up the past and his mistakes. (he see's all the fights with lauren and kirk as mistakes. they were friends, good friends, and he did love lauren but he fucked it up), failure and well like any person; the unknown. he hates blood and gore, scared as hell of horror movies and terrified of horror games. and yet he still makes them because being scared is terrifying and he hates it but the adrenaline he gets is all he wants.

  daniel grew up in a single mothered home as an only child. his father passed in his youth, and his mother the eldest daughter of some ceo of some boring printing company took her son and moved across the country. at home he spoke french with his mother and grand parents, and in public spoke english having now moved to a pronominally English speaking area of canada. he never hated where he lived, he hated the cards the world dealt to him but he did what he could to make it work. spoiled rotten as a kid with everything he asked for which wasnt much. originally it was video games and the newest console. and then a computer and everything for that. and it just spiraled from there. daniel spent weekdays at school, and going out with his mom, doing homework, studying, going to extra tutors, going out swimming or for walks with his dog. and on the weekends? the young mastermind was locked in his room, tearing apart old gaming consoles and computer pieces and trying to pick apart code for games and programs. he wanted to learn so much about them, but he only did so in private finding it made him feel nerdy when he spoke about that kind of stuff.

  he met lauren in middle school. he used to be close with her and kirk. a trio like no other, the rich kids and the popular kids. it was a dream, the time for his gaming and programming hobby got cut short; spending fridays with the twins and most of the saturday with them too. finding 1 day a week to himself, but that didnt bother him. his mother supported him, and he had loving friends. and middle school was a dream it felt like, only if life could've continued that way. but the universe dealt him another shitty hand of cards.

  high school. the dream crashed, and the trio became rocky. daniel admitting feelings for lauren with his explosive personality and the attention he kept getting from men and women he seemed unable to handle it all feeding into everyones advances, simply because he liked the attention. blinded by it even that he didnt see how it affect lauren. watching them shatter and rebuild to shatter again. weekends meant getting into fights with kirk, getting into arguments with lauren. weeks of not really talking, but still spending time together, keeping up appearances. keeping up the image that everything was perfect between the three. but it wasnt. it never was again. despite all the words exchanged daniel never stopped feeling. wishing to improve and make it better swearing that senior year and onwards would be different. and it was; he fought less with kirk, he was more loyal to lauren. but . . . he cant think of the event anymore. the mere thought of it sending shivers down his spine. the images, the sounds. he cant think about it. the trip was suppose to be the start of everything they wished for and wanted for the previous 4 years and the world dealt him another awful hand. after losing them, daniel found himself buried in his programming. he made a couple indie games over the next year, one of them even depicting the events of the incident, as a survival horror adventure, where you needed to find out what happened before the ghosts of those passed ended you. it was fairly decently received. but if anyone from the group played it, they'd most likely known it was dans way of working through the guilt of not protecting her, and his way to cope. though, some still may not be happy that he made the game, even if it wasn't making money.

  that about the time he got picked up by some game company. it was well known. he started working as one of the game devs, in a very low position but after a few years, he rose the ranks. becoming one of the senior devs, and having him name permanently tacked onto the game and its company. the community liked him, he made a lot of good chances and adjustments to the game. some questionable ones too; but he was charismatic. the invite to this party? he felt sick looking at it. remembering the events. remembering high school. al his time flirting with others to appease them, never thinking about it. all the heartbreak he caused. it make him cringe at how stupid and naive he was. but he remembers calling up their mom. saying he'd be there. taking the time off work. it was weird. he hadn't really spoken to many from the group since the events; and even less since his game came out.

  think happened? i have an idea. we fought with kirk again. as we all do. we all got too heated too drunk, and we fought. i remember, the group split that night. i remember talking to lauren. i dont even remember the conversation too distracted just by being with her; and then the yelling. the screaming. i remember seeing her and kirk screaming at each other, going outside to avoid the disturbing the party. i remember hearing the yelling fade; rushing outside. and then . . . yeah . . .

  oh yeah, big time. some of my family practices paganism. i believe in all that kinda stuff.

  i think everyone knows how i feel and it isnt good. i grew up with them, they were the closest people to me and look at this now. feels likei lost a piece of myself. i remember hardly finding the courage to take care of myself and go out for a little after.

  not what i was expecting. didnt expect to get an invite or even see these people again for the most part. scared.

  not really? we spent so much time here. its like a 2n home. it just, worries me thinking about the past.

  the heavy air lingers in places where tragedy occured, the past comes back to haunt everyone. so i stay on my toes. i hope nothing happens but we will never know.

  maybe? i dont think many liked my game to help me cope and move on. so it'll be weird to see people again if anythin.

  Isobel was often tagged with the label "volatile", especially during her teenage years but she rarely saw herself in those terms. True, there had been several instances where the day started out fine only for her to end up in an argument with a teacher or classmate. It could definitely even lead to something physical, but her reactions and responses were not signs of instability; she just refused to abide by superficiality.
  
  She hated fake people.
  
  Y'know, the sort who put on a pretty smile and then say the most heinous shit a person could say and expect no one to pay any mind to it. Or acted kind and charming, but talked shit about their so called "friends" behind their backs.
  
  Her tolerance for what she deemed bullshit was notoriously low. She definitely had an acute radar for detecting insincerity in the people around her and she never hesitated to call out what she believed was dishonesty or manipulation. This trait, while admirable to a handful, often put her at odds with those less inclined towards directness or those who preferred the comfort of "manners". It made it difficult to find friends, real friends at least.

  Born to Adrian Delgado and Olivia Delgado, a young college student with dreams rooted in biology, Isobel's early life was marked by a story of love that burned too quickly. Her parents met in Winnipeg, where their whirlwind romance swiftly transitioned from passionate encounters to the stark realities of early parenthood.
  
  Barely three months into dating, Olivia realized she was pregnant. She never finished school, and Adrian embraced his role as a provider, finding work as a cook. His efforts ensured that the family, while not basking in wealth, never faced the gnawing pangs of hunger. Luxuries, however, remained just out of reach.
  
  Isobel's family life took a divergent path early on when she was two, splintering into versions that depended heavily on who one talked to. From her father's side, there were talks of cheating. Olivia, on the other hand, painted a starkly different picture, one where Adrian simply chose partying with friends, drinking at all hours, over the life his family. Whatever the real reason was, it ultimately drove her to leave, taking young Isobel with her when she was only two and moving in back in with her mother, Ariel. The lack of child support or any support from the courts lead Isobel later to believe her mother was likely telling the truth.
  
  Growing up, Isobel was acutely aware of the financial disparities that set her apart from her classmates. Her Mom worked hard to provide for her, and there was never a day she went hungry. Of course, the absence of the latest clothes, the newest phone, or trendy accessories became ammo for the crueler kids who went to her elementary school. She was fiercely dedicated to her mother, so rather than sit and take every taunts and insult, she met them head-on, with a clenched fist or a sharply worded threat. Her fierce little attitude became a defining trait, all the way up into her high school years.
  
  However, when high school came, Isobel decided to take a slightly different approach to things. She stayed the same fiery person, but instead of constantly fighting, she simply figured out a way to make a little extra money herself. During her freshman year, she made an effort to make friends with people older than herself, and keep those friendships. Soon she was able to get booze, drugs, really whatever made a party fun with just a couple text messages. She became the life of the party, the purveyor of everything a rebellious teenager might need.   If you were to look up the term "gossip queen" in the dictionary you'd find a picture of Ada's face on full display; a tittle-tattle through and through, she lives for the drama and is always stirring the pot, be it by telling x that y talked shit about z or having been told by a "little bird" that x and z are secretly dating -- don't tell anyone though! She's developed a knack for gathering information and doing it in a way so subtle that her targets don't even recognize that they're being questioned, much less that they're spilling precious tea. She's also a skilled deceiver, cunningly denying any involvement whenever the seeds she planted bloom into a beautiful, messy flower. Keeping secrets is pretty much impossible for her, which is definitely a handicap when you're trying to develop and mantain real connections; Ada does have somewhat of a sense of loyalty, perhaps not immediately ratting out her closer friends, but more often than not her big mouth ends up getting the best of her, which results in hurtful situations for the people she truly cares about, something she does feel guilty about and doesn't like seeing, even if she'll never come clean about being the culprit.   Born to a relatively wealthy family, Hadassah has always been well off growing up. A gossip since youth, she always had the kindergarden's latest and juiciest deets, and you could bet your ass she was behind all those gossip Instagram pages that haunted every middle schooler's dreams.   It was Amanda who taught her the power of the word; one time in middle school Ada was having trouble with a girl picking on her, and who else to seek help from but her mother. "The truth is your most valuable weapon" is what she used to tell her daughter, teaching her that dropping the right information at just the right time to just the right person was more powerful than a punch or a kick could ever be. Safe to say the bully never picked on Ada again, after someone spread a rumor that completely smeared her reputation and even caused her to change schools.
  
  Surprisingly enough her mother wasn't her most trusted confidant however-- no, that honor befell to Lauren Kirk, her best friend. Ever since Ada could remember her and Lauren have been attached at the hip. The Campbells were good friends of The Kirks, and this connection was only strengthened by their youngest daughters' blooming friendship. Childhood besties, Ada can still recall all their sleepovers at each other's places, spending the nights talking and talking and talking, at first about who had stole who's scrunchie at recess or how that one girl's ring was totally fake gold, and later about who had hooked up with who during the summer or whose friendship had met a shocking and unexpected end. Lauren was Ada's best, and perhaps only true friend, and she never missed her and her brother's iconic birthday parties at the Wintercourt Ski Lodge.

Middle school, my last year, we faced a gut punch. Mom was taken from us by cancer. Everything shifted. It hit us hard, left a hole in our family that we were all trying to figure out how to fill. My dad, he needed a change, a fresh start. So, we packed our bags and landed in Toronto. The city lights replaced the small-town charm, and hockey became the new anthem. It was like stepping into a whole new world. Different schools, different accents, heck, even the way they played hockey instead of football was a culture shock. But family took us in, helped us get back on our feet.

Starting over was tough, and things got complicated. My relationship with Dad became distant. Grieving hit us all differently, and we struggled to find common ground. Football, the one constant, was traded for hockey rinks and pucks. It felt like we were on different wavelengths. Hell, different planets almost. High school, well, that's where I found my way back. Sports became my refuge, a way to cope, make friends, and find some stability. Dad found his rhythm too, but our connection remained strained. I've replayed that night in my head so many times, wondering if I could've done something different, you know? But I mean look, I ain't no detective, but something about that doesn't sit right with me. I get it was cold up there, and it's a damn mountain, but the way they were found... it's just off. And those weird tracks and sounds we all heard? It's all just strange."

"Monsters? Like ghosts and mummies and all of those sorts of things? No. I mean that's just like fantasy stuff right? Besides who needs made-up monsters when we have very real monsters creeping across every neighborhood?"

"It's uh....kinda crazy to think about now. I mean those two were the guys. I mean THE guys ya know? And to have their lives taken just all of a sudden just like that? I mean it's just sad. Especially considering they had so much more life to live. Now it just....hurts to think about now."

"It's a bit weird right? I mean I know the family is grieving and everything but making a party on the tenth anniversary of the death of their kids is just... weird is all. But I mean who makes a party above what's essentially the grave site of their own children? "

"Alright, let's not beat around the bush. That mountain, it gives me the creeps, man. I mean, sure, I've faced some tough opponents on the football field, but this ain't the same. There's something about the cold wind, the eerie silence, it messes with your head. Going back for this memorial thing, it's like facing a ghost from the past. You know it's there, lurking, and you can't help but wonder what else it's hiding. But hey, facing fears, right? Well, I just hope the damn mountain plays fair."

"GOD NO. I mean, uh I hope not. Everyone already has been through so much, the last thing we need is more bad shit to happen."

  As a child, Selena lived with her mother, father, and older sister. They weren't exactly the most stable of families, with Selena's parents having a tendency to argue over every little thing. At times they would even raise their voices to the point where the neighbors could surely hear. They were polar opposites, two people who often wanted different things. It was a wonder that they somehow ended up together in the first place.
  
  Money was often a topic for their arguments. The Grahams weren't exactly rich, but they did make enough to get by. But the problem that both Selena's parents shared was that they would often spend their money where they shouldn't, prioritizing their own fun and comfort over their children. This was why Selena sometimes didn't have access to basic necessities, depending on how much money her parents had managed to burn in one night. It was also why, for much of her school years, Selena would show up in hand-me-downs rather than anything that was new and hers. She didn't have that luxury.
  
  But looks and appearances are everything. Selena had realized this early on. If you dress right, then you're saying everything you need to about yourself - your worth talking to, you're worth being around. Selena could never quite achieve this though. That seemed to be reserved for more prettier girls who appeared on magazines and Selena had learned to think of herself as lesser than that. Lacking confidence and often being insecure, Selena compared herself to her peers at school a lot, focusing heavily on what it was she didn't have.
  
  It was towards the end of middle school where something changed. One day, Selena's older sister presented her with a surprise gift -- a cheap-looking lipstick. Looking at it, Selena was a little confused on why she was receiving it. Her sister elaborated a little, shrugging and saying she saw it while she was out and bought it on a whim. It didn't cost a lot, and...
  
  "It made me think of you. Figured you could get more use out of it than me, y'know?"
  
  Selena stared at it for a while longer. This was something that was completely hers, not previously used by her sister or anyone else. It belonged to her.
  
  In that moment, Selena felt a strong desire to change herself. She longed to be different, to look at herself in the mirror and not despise who stared back. She wanted to be the kind of girl who looked like she could be on the front cover of a magazine.
  
  She swore to herself then that high school would be her time. Things were going to be different - and different they were. But not at all in the way she expected.
  
  ...The twins. Sometimes, Selena had to wonder if the version she saw of them was different from what everyone else saw. What was there to like about them? Did anyone else feel trapped by them, or was it just her?
  
  Was she the only one who got treated so poorly like this by them?
  
  Selena hated the situation she found herself in. But more than that, she was afraid of the twins, of their power and influence. It's why she would simply put up with it -- what they called her, the photos -- all of it. She just had to hold back her tears and bear with it.
  
  Until she couldn't anymore. The longer it went on, the more she felt like she was going to break. Things weren't supposed to be like this. She told herself she had to do something, to fix this so that everything was right. So she wouldn't have to deal with this anymore. But no matter how much she thought about it, she couldn't see a happy end to this. Not for her.
  
  With that in mind, Selena decided that if she couldn't find a way to save herself, then she would have to try and drag at least one of the twins down with her. There just had to be a way to get something on them, to taint them. To turn the tables.
  
  But Selena never could have pictured herself ending up involved with Kirk in the way that she did, more than once even. It was a truly unforeseen scenario. Was this part of the plan? What was she even doing anymore? The more they hooked up, the more questions like that ended up being drowned out in favor of meeting up to experience it all again.
  
  Because it was just a little bit addicting in the moment. She'd never done anything like this before, something that was secretive and definitely bad. He did have a girlfriend, after all. But it felt she'd gone too far to turn back now, or to even stop herself anymore.
  
  The only thing she thought she could really do was to continue down the unknown path she'd ended up on and find out where it would take her from here. As much as she would rather not face what may await her.
