Teach me your ways, plz ๐Ÿ™ I struggle so hard to find faceclaims that I feel like fit my characters ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

social social how common are non-religious humans? are they perceived negatively or just kind of normal?
I mean I would say they are more so the minority in this roleplay since the humans relied pretty heavily on the religious relationships between the three leaders. So itโ€™s not like anything bad would happen but it could potentially cause them to get a lesser role with a non-human or just not as many perks because they arenโ€™t โ€œdevotedโ€. If that makes sense lmao

vampy boy placeholder up??? i plan on making a human as well but i'm stuck on faceclaims there so ๐Ÿ˜ญ

ok sorry for the double post here, but my human placeholder also made it up.

This sounds like a fun concept!

I'm toying around with the idea of a regular human who is kept on-hand by a vampire as a convenient food source and assistant, but might have their own motives.... Maybe they want to be a vampire themselves? Maybe they are in love with the vampire? Maybe they are planning on betraying their vampire in a game of inter-house politics? Or are spying on the vampires for a coalition of unhappy humans? Maybe some combination- I really don't know yet!

okay listen yes artemis is a twink but he has LAYERS i promise ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ also - i've never made a witch character so i'm definitely gonna have heaps and heaps of questions !!

would it make sense for a character to sort of have conflicted feelings about being a witch/being involved in all of this? i was thinking he'd be selected for the little alliance team because he's fairly powerful, using blood magic (with a variety of weaknesses and limitations, of course) if that works

So I finally got time to sit down and really dig into the lore. I do quite like how holy water no longer works, apparently after humanity went full sadist.

Anyway, quick question, I still want to play that human diplomat/spy but apparently Christian isn't in the available religions? What gives?

So yeah everyone who got picked by their house to be part of this good is either powerful or influential enough for them to be able to help figure out the murders so that would work fine! In terms of conflicted feelings, thatโ€™s totally fine too as not every character will be happy about the situation as they basically were forced to do it by their house leaders. Hopefully that makes sense I just woke up

that's perfect, thank you so much! i'm kind of writing artemis as a sort of 'atomic bomb' character; given his power, he's kind of there for worst case scenario and is otherwise quite weak and useless to make things fair if that's okay

also, another question - would it happen sometimes that those in other Houses might attack someone in a different House? i.e. a random werewolf hating witches and attacking some random witch? just asking for part artemis' history, wanna make sure i don't throw anything in there that might not realistically happen without being big news

Ahhh, gotta give myself time to digest all this lore before I decide, but Iโ€™m really loving werewolf!

Yeah! That could work especially if his magic was something that he practiced before and was pretty good at or it is a familial magic and they tracked him down because of it! Those are just suggestions ofc~

Alright so if a House member attacks another species uhhh the severity of the attack will depend on the punishment. There are very strict laws in place to avoid fights between the three of them but they canโ€™t be completely avoided. Werewolves and witches are known to bump heads because witches have a tendency to overstep onto werewolf territory to set up shop which has caused complications in the past. If a werewolf was attacking a witch in an effort to kill them, that would most likely result in their own death (the houses donโ€™t mess around ๐Ÿ’€). If it was something like the witch moved onto werewolf territory and would not leave, while inappropriate, a fight would be more justified as they are protecting very sacred lands from a species that has no right to them. The punishment would go to both sides but most likely be more strict on the witch as they broke laws first! the same would apply if a werewolf went onto witch territory and started raising hell, they would be more harshly punished than a witch defending their territory.

Honestly the werewolves are so fun because they are like hella connected with the earth and their lands are super neat with interesting magic properties themselves (more tba when ppl are accepted) so Iโ€™m always hyped to see more werewolf applications~

ahh okay i totally hear you, makes sense. if a werewolf and witch were to fight in some kind of circumstance and both died - and it was perhaps determined that they simply killed each other - would it then be considered 'fair', or no punishment for any House would have to be handed out?

If there were equal transgressions with either party, it would be considered that both parties carried out their own punishments by dying. This is especially true if this occurred in neutral areas that all three species have access to (this is another thing that will be expanded on later after acceptance). If people were upset by the deaths/lack of punishments, the Houses could punish those causing problems as a way to be like โ€˜this is how we do things, so shut up and be quietโ€™.

Quick add on to that, if they had done something pretty bad before their deaths, like severely broke other large laws, the witch and werewolf may not be entitled to a burial or any sort of remembrance as the Houses would confiscate their bodies and lock them up real tight.

So as mentioned within the plot and lore, Dracula, Agnes, and Dolphins all became Gods and their main targets were the churches. They aimed to pull humans away from the churches that harmed their people and essentially destroy their god as that was the biggest f you they could do on top of killing a bunch of them. There would be no logical reason for the three to allow these churches to continue existing as to them, they have only killed thousands of innocent people for no reason and are evil things. So those churches and religions would be considered to be dead (especially in the 21st century) and have very very sparse public knowledge or information so that humans would not go back to it. The Houses all have books, manuscripts, and whatnot but those are kept locked up within the leaderโ€™s private collections as they are basically just a way for them to track the devotion of those who donโ€™t attend their own churches. While themes of religion are prevalent in the roleplay, it is not due to catholic or Christian influence and entirely based upon the new worship humans found and adapted to in order to survive.

Just thousands? Man, the church in this reality was made of chumps. Those are rookie numbers. That's two to three months in the 30-Years war (WWE Announcer voice: "Protestants in the one corner, Catholics in the other, let's get rrready to RRRUUUUMBLE!")

Anyway. Was my first post not clear that I wanted to play a secret Christian?

If that's not cool, that's fine. Please just be upfront next time?

in the GM's defense, i found it was pretty clear in the lore section of the interest check that the religions in this rp were sort of condensed only to worship the werewolves, the witches, or the vampires - i kind of figured that was sort of the whole point haha

That's fair, I just didn't realise that meant Christianity was just completely banned from the entirety of the RP, even as a character's personal secret.

Characters with secrets are fun!
