Realistic or Modern Cirque de Monstres

He smiled at Ignis's comment.

"Ah yes, that would make quite the show."

He looked back at the young performer. He remembered an old performer that had been a member about 14 years ago.

"Too bad we don't have a Senora Hazel with us anymore. She could have sent the storm away."

His mind wondered to that mysterious woman who had disappeared without a trace. His thoughts were interrupted. He looked at Freyja who had offered them fruit.

"Ah, none for me my dear. I have breakfast waiting for me."

He was hoping for a relaxing morning but, it had interrupted by Nora and having to do set up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nora blushed at Samantha's greeting. She had a love hate relationship with the pet names. Much like how she felt about Samantha, part of her loved the ring leader. The other, well the other liked her as an annoying friend.

"I have to go check something."

She turned around and left the area. She returned to the sitting are she had once occupied. She let Danu slither around, he seemed quite interested in a gopher hole.

"Don't disappear on me Danu."

She looked at the approaching clouds. Hopefully they will leave by the time the shows start.

Raini

Raini woke to the sound of crashing around and the strong smell of wine. Kori must be having a killer hangover and or be drunk. Her still groggy mind made up. She moved her mindlessness to have her hands cup her face and try to wipe away any of the remaining sleep she still had on her face. She slowly and sleepily slid herself out of bed. Once her feet touched the floor she sat up out of bed, her eyes closed, and walked towards the door. Little did she know that her roommate Kori had left her a surprise. When she reached the living room, BAM! It was a mess! With a sigh she began to pick up the small wine bottles around the room and to throw them away. She also picked up the wine glasses and placed them in the sink. Once she had done that she went back to the living room towards the door. Raini opened the door and looked around. It was still messy but that could wait. Then she stepped out into the inviting sunlight.

Matt

Matt had a normal wake up this morning. His roommate wasn't as bad as raini's. He had preformed all his morning duties already so he went to wait for his sister. He was greeted by her roommate Kori exiting with a smile on her face. I wonder what that was about. He thought once she had left. He had to wait about ten minuets after her roommate left before Raini came out of her trailer. Man did she look tired. She looked to be still half asleep and her hair was all tangled up as what could be described as a bedhead. He suppressed the urge to laugh. Raini saw him. "What?" She said. "No--Nothing." He said biting the inside of his cheek. "Anyway lets go get some food before its all gone." He said and began to walk with Raini.

His jobs done, Conner began to walk around. He was looking for something to eat, he couldn't be a strong man on an empty stomach. Seeing Freyja, Ignis, and Paul all grouped together around some food, Conner decides to grab a bit of it for himself. Walking over, he wordlessly grabs an apple and a plate, which he loaded up on all the food he could fit on it. "Wonderful morning isn't it. Hope that rain stays away, can't get a good grip on anything wet."

Freyja looked over at Conner and nodded, "Ill be in human form during my performance though..nothing to worry about for me thankfully" If the hooks got wet it was really no big deal since they would be going through her skin anyways. A little water never hurt. She noticed all the different types of foods that everyone had to eat in the morning. She was almost always eating fruit and rarely any meat. It was just how they were. Besides human fuit was the closest she could get to fae food.

"That would be wonderful" He laughed. Watching the building clouds for only a moment longer before turning to the the other performers with a smile. "I'll take some fruit. Got to have more than all of this bacon and eggs or I'll end up with a spare tire." He chuckled and reached over to take an apple. "Rain is nice and all, but it always manages to make it harder to perform. Even underneath the safety of the tents."

Freyja lifted the basket so it was easier for Ignis to reach. "But bacon is good! and eggs used to be so hard to come by in my home village..without stealing the chickens at least" She nodded, for she had thought of stealing a chicken at some point. But she knew she would just lose it. "Im sure the show will be as wonderful as always..we arent amateur after all"

"Indeed we are not!"

He gave a slight nod to the performers.

"Now if you will excuse me, I have someone I need to find."

He turned and walked away from the performers. He needed to eat as well as reminded Nora that she needed to rehearse. He walked up to her as she was trying to keep her snake from going down a gopher hole.

"Be careful or we will have to dig for him like we did when Banana went down a gopher hole."

Banana was one of Nora's other snakes that had a knack for going down holes.

"Remember to set up a rehearsal time!"

He walked off to his trailer, entering it and started to make his breakfast.

----———------------------------

Nora frowned at Paul's first comment the yelled a response to the second as he walked off.

"I already did!"

She picked up Danu and started to walk over to the animal enclosers when she caught the smell of bacon in the air. She walked over to where it was coming from and found Freyja, Ignis, and Conner. She spotted apples, she loved apples. She quickly grabbed one and took a bite before speaking to other performers.

"So, are guys ready for tonight?"

"Of course I am. All I have to do is bend some stuff and lift up a fatty." Conner said. His act was simple really, nothing much to screw up. "Of course there are the crazies out there. Might have to let them have a go at what I do." he continued thoughtfully. 'That would be interesting.' Conner thought, a smile creeping across his face at them struggling to do what he did and their faces turning red.

"I have to rehears a bit...Had a little mishap with the doves last night and a few of them got to know the business end of the tigers. So now I'm stuck coming up with something else to do." He grinned sheepishly. "but otherwise I'm all good to go with messing with peoples heads."

Freyja looked forward to her performance. It was certainly not for the weak stomach, but it got the crowd on the edge of their seats. She was glad they let her perform such an act but who else would do something the way she did? She couldnt feel the pain so she was perfect and she healed quickly enough. "Its been to long since I could perform that im considering practice in m trailer..though im not sure yet"

Samantha

Samantha opened her trailer to the fresh scent of roses. She let her finger lightly caress the petal of one yellow roses on her kitchen counter. Always attempting to play the gentleman, it was another tradition of hers to give the ladies of the show roses on opening night to congratulate them on a successful show. To the men, she usually gave a strong handshake and an invite to her trailer for a smoke; she was quite fond of cigars.

Bubbling with a new-found excitement, she quickly grabbed a clipboard off the counter and made her way outside again with haste. Her eyes skimmed the list in front of her for a moment before she checked off ‘tank check.’ She was most assured that Atl was taking care of business. He was always very compliant, although she did sometimes wish he had more of a social fire to him.

Looking upwards she noticed the two approaching Rainicorns. “Yoohooo!” she waved to them both before jogging forward and speaking to the smaller of the two. “Good morning my succulent plum, I must remind you to tend to your horses and such.” She knew it would have been done anyway, but it was her job to tend to her tent after all.

Red gives a small wave to the breakfast crew as she made her way past them. She looks up at the sky with a frown and makes her way and towards the edge of the small bit of woods they were stationed near. She let out a long howl which was probably an odd sight to see a human howling eerily similar to a wolf. She makes her way towards one of the tents, deciding to get some training in underneath it. If it was going to rain, she didn't need wet wolves for her act. Three white wolves soon emerged from the woods, trailing behind Aoife as she made her way across the fairgrounds.

Freyja was used to sharing her fruit that she gathered, but when she gets the chance she can make the fruit taste and look so much better. "Well I should be getting back to my trailer. Im sure I will see most of you tonight at the show" Her white eyes shimmered slightly and her wings buzzed as she hovered a bit higher. "Enjoy the fruit!" She winked and flew off to her trailer to start practice.

Kori

Kori exited the woods at the sound of Aoife’s call. She had gone there after breakfast to find herself a lunch for later, as once rehearsals started it would be too late to. Unfortunately, she was only able to catch a small rabbit, which she held now tightly by it’s ears. She looked down on her prize with yellow eyes of hunger before reverting again to human form.

“You’ll have to be eaten later, I’m afraid,” she hissed at the squirming creature. Using her other hand to hold to it’s legs, she walked back to her trailer, keeping an eye out for Jake or any other of her Side-show companions.

"Well, amerure or not, I still got to stay in shape if I'm to remain the strong man." Conner said before downing the rest of the food tbat was on his plate and walking off to his trailer. He had some equipment there that would keep him in shape. And he had a bat that he had bent from his first show that he now practiced with. 'Got to make sure mu form is right.' he thought to himself as he picked up the bent a d twisted piece of metal that was the bat. Grabbing it at either end, he flex his muscles and begin to strain in an attempt to bend it. After only a few seconds, the metal reluctantly began to bend in the middle. Once his hands touched, he set the bat down and began the more mundane task of lifting weights.

Freyja was shuffling through her basket as she flew seeing how many apples and pars she had. She knew she was down a few after sharing with her friends but it was no big deal to her. She then realized another task that needed to be done before opening night. Her wings had yet to be made and she needed to get them attached to the needles.

Atl

Atl slid his hands down the tank, stepping back to give it one last look-over. He had found a worker available to fill it up so he could test for leaks; so far, so good. Satisfied with the size and strength of the new tank, he pushed a small button he found on the back. The tank illuminated with a bluish glow and he nodded in approval. This would definitely allow the whole of the audience to witness his escape act. He wondered, however, if the heat from the lighting would raise the temperature of the tank to an uncomfortable level… he quickly dismissed the thought. He wouldn’t be in the tank long enough for it to be an issue anyway.

Sighing, he took a look at padlocks and chains piled by his feet. This was his least favorite part. He wasn’t a weakling, that was sure, but still the chains did get quite heavy, and it seems Sam had taken it upon herself to order newer, thicker ones. He bent over, and removing a ring of keys on top of the pile, began to test the locks first.

Once every section of the pile had been unlocked and re-locked, he began to slowly wrap them around his body. Yep, they were heavier. He shook his head lightly, knowing he really ought not to complain. It’s not like crew was given new equipment often.

Nora nodded at the others answers. She was about to say something when she realized she had forgotten about something.

"Ah, see you later Ignis."

She waved as she walked back her trailer. She opended the door to her quarters and went in. She changed into a practice uniform which was a black bra much like the ones she performed in except it was plain and a pair of black dance shorts. She grabbed up Danu and and threw the core of the apple at the forest. She grabbed a metal hula hoop and a regular one and headed towards an open area behind the tents to practice a new way of dazziling crowds before shows. She had done hula hoop acts before but, she was going to light one on fire. She walked to an area between the tents and the fence and found a woden platform, she set Danu down next to the platform. She informed a staff member of her intentions and few more joined into watch. First she did the rutine with the regular hula hoop. She didn't mess up. She grabbed the metal one which, had 8 prongs sticking oyt of the side. She grabbed a torch from one of the staff mebers and light the prongs on fire she started the routine again. She did it without fail. The staff clapped at her little show. She started to put the flames out in a bucket of water provided to her.

(Here is a vid of what her hula hoop thing looks like actual thing starts at 1;10 [media]

As Conner lifted his weights, out of the corner of his eye he saw Kori. He also saw the rabbit she was holding and was no doubt going to be her lunch. Now Conner isn't a complete tuff guy, he does have some soft spots, especially when little fluffy creatures were involved. He decided on the spot that he wouldn't let her eat this one. He would have to sneak the little fella out though, like after she just left her trailer. So he continued his work out, but keeping an eye out for when Kori left.

Raini

Raini smiled at Samantha and waved back. She was pretty used to the mermaid's way of talking. "Hello Samantha." She said. It was sweet of her to remind her to take care of her horses. Of course being the horse mistress, she always had to make sure her horses were in top shape. Plus she used them in her circus act so they were important too. "You coming to eat breakfast or have you already done it?" She asked. Raini herself was looking forward to breakfast because afterwards she could practice her act and spend time with her horses.

"See you later." He waved as she left. After quickly scarfing down the rest of his meal and making sure the gas stove was shut off he headed off to start practicing his act. It wasn't going to be too difficult without doves, but better safe than sorry and lectured. The best solution was to substitute cards. Getting them to look right was no problem at all. Little shapin, a little detail, didn't even have to be solid. The only issue was getting them to fly just right. Taking in a deep breath he let the cards fly from his sleeves. Testing just how belivable of birds he could make from them.

When Freyja got to her trailer she set her basket of fruit down and went to her work room. He suspension set up had already been finished but now came the task of preparing her feathers. It was simple enough, but you had to concentrate so you didnt get to much glue on the needle and make sure the feather was secure. The needles were long, about 4 to 5 inches. She had to wear gloves when preparing the wings so the needles would stay sterile. And she always used ostrich feathers or peacock feathers.

Samantha

“Ahh,” Sam replied back to Raini, “not yet I’m afraid. Although, I did enjoy some cotton candy per usual, and might I add it was simply marvelous! Have either of you yet breakfasted?”

She crossed Raini off the list as she spoke, noting the word ‘Wolves’ was next on her list; she would have to next check-in with Aoife.

Kori

Now in her trailer, Kori was actively engaged in attempting to house her rabbit in an up-side down laundry basket. Holding it in place with her foot, she found three large books and set them on top of the basket, thereby securing the rabbit in a small plastic prison.

“Try not to poop too much, Lunch,” she demanded with a frown. She grabbed a change of clothing and left for the shower, but not before first enjoying her reflection in a hand mirror for the better of 10 minutes…

Conner once more saw Kori out of the corner of his eye. But this time she was leaving, and to the showers by the looks of it. He would have plenty of time to grab the little fella before she got back. Dropping the weights and hurrying to her trailer, he opens the door and sees the poor thing trapped under a laundry basket with some books on it. Getting down on his knees, Conner lifts the hamper enough to grab the rabbit. The thing, having recently been traumatized, kicked and scratched at him. But he had put up with worse and stuffed the rabbit down his shirt before hurrying back out. He was going to set up a proper place for him, make him nice and comfortable and make him a pet. Hopefully Kori wouldn't walk in on him setting up the rabbits cage.

Shepard had just woken up, well he had before too but was unwilling to get up from his coffin. He yawned as he got up. He then grunted saying, " why must I wake up during bright hours. ". Shepard pulled a black coat and a pair of sunglasses. " well that might be useful. " he thought as he walked out of his dorm. The thick coat that he wore was surely not well suited for the season but to a dead vampire there was nothing like heat there was only cold, the very chill that drove through each and every vein of his body. Shepard walked towards the food stalls, his gaze constantly pointed towards the ground as his eyes shy away from the vivid sun. He did not see if someone was there who could accompany him, well even if there was Shepard did not have any intention of staying there and talk while the sun poured its nasty rays ion him.
