Personality: Fierce, secretive, mysterious, sarcastic, likes to get under people's skin, easily bored, sometimes chaotic. (Not entirely sure. I like to develop my characters' personalities as they progress in the story.)


Background: Once a regular mortal who was greedy and vain. She died as the same kind of human. The cause of death— vital to her story, but a mystery to others. Prior to her death, a demon granted her a single wish— to be immortal, in order to fully enjoy the riches and pleasures of the world. And so the demon turned her into his own kind. She was a monster that perfectly reflected her twisted human attributes. But as time went on, everything became pointless. Boring. The treasures of the earth were idle objects. But she was frowned upon by the world now. A true monster. Stuck in the continuous daily loop, she grew separate from the world, stuck beween heaven and earth. A demon could be part of neither. But a monster could live among monsters, perhaps, and what better place than a circus?


Abilities: The burns from her fire never truly fade, unless she means for them to heal, and she is immune to any normal fire. Her flames are able to entrance and even hypnotize mortals, sometimes into such a state that they won't realise they are being burned alive.


What do you do in the circus: Firebreather/juggler, magician, has some sort of practice in throwing knives.

Background: (Sorry for the long read) Coming home from a bloody and horrific world war, Waldo Horst Sr. did his very best to forget, a road travelled by everyone involved. Despite being the single most decorated member of the Luftwaffe, Lt. Horst's accolades did little to assuage his night terrors. Due to the collapse of Germany's industries, The decorated Lieutenant found work as a lowly security guard at a shipyard in Berlin.


One night, in a moment of weakness, The Lieutenant hired a courtesan for the night. Needless to say, proper precautions were not observed and the courtesan ended up expecting. Although a broken and devastated man, The Lieutenant was nothing if not honorable and offered to marry her. And that is how Waldo and Beatrice Horst met each other.


Waldo Horst Jr. was born on September 9th, 1918 in the back of a truck. At least according to his father. Junior's mother maintains that the head first popped out back in their living room, but thats another story. For the first since the war, The Lieutenant felt something approaching peace.


Junior's childhood was tumultuous at best, downright hell at worst. Upholding a reputation as a bastard child, he learned how to fight dirty at the ripe old age of seven. An ace student, He graduated High School at the age of sixteen. In no small part due to his ruthless approach and his father’s reputation, Junior rose quickly through the ranks, gaining the coveted position of Homicide Detective First Class in the Autumn of 1939.
