Children of Ra. (1 on 1 between me and Melody Frazier)

Ryou was surprised Marik put his coat over him, the Egyptian must be freezing. He was used to cold weather, but Marik wasn't. He poured two cups of tea and sat down next to it, pulling the Egyptian into a hug. His mind thought just to share heat, but his body said something a little more sexual. Ryou blushed and tried to hide the growing lump in his trousers, to no avail. "T-Thank you... No one has ever stood up for me before..." Ryou said, smiling a little.

Marik gladly took the tea from Ryou, brought it up to his lips, and tasted the sweet sensation. "I was sick of that pathetic excuse of a rich boy anyway." Marik noticed Bakura's stunningly beautiful reaction to him handing over his coat. "You're very welcome, and I am very proud of you for standing up for yourself. No one should be bullied like that and...no one talks about my sister that way." Marik never blushed, always expecting something like this from Bakura. However, he did return the hug. "I'll be fine. Actually living in the catacombs has helped me become accustomed to this weather." He leaned into the embrace, ready to kiss the Brit.

Bakura blushed when Marik hugged him, not expecting him to do so, he put his tea down, unsure of what to do.

Marik settled his hands down at his sides and nodded. "Alright, I'm glad I could warm you up." He took a seat on the couch. "Where did you say your father was again?"

"Cairo, I think. it's been a while since I last talked with him, keeping in touch doesn't seem to be much of a priority with him." Ryou sighed, missing his only parent. "I doubt he'll care what has happened, he doesn't really care much about what happens with me at all nowadays, he's so busy with his excavations and such." Ryou said, sipping his tea.

Marik nodded, taking the tea from Ryou and then both of the boy's hands. It only took a second for the tomb keeper to let go and lean in, his fingers now guiding Bakura's head forward by the chin. "Bakura, you don't have to worry about anything now. Not with me here. You can go back to school and Seto Kaiba will be gone." He pressed his lips lightly against the other's. "I love you."

Bakura looked at Marik, not sure what he was up to. His eyes widened when they kissed him, before closing. He had dreamt about this, only for his alarm clock to cruelly snatch him from his dreams. But this wasn't a dream, and it was real. Marik quickly parted the kiss, but the three words that followed touched him to the core. He had never had a boyfriend before, let alone any kind of partner. And now he had his crush. Ryou didn't care about celebrities or anything like that. They were all idiots in his opinion, Marik was the one person he thought unattainable, the glass of water just out of reach of the desperately dehydrated, the medicine out of reach of the sick. But for him to want Ryou... He thought dreams were lies. He knew they came true now. He hugged Marik tightly, wanting contact.

"I will always protect you, Bakura." Marik gently tugged on his lover's arms, pulling him onto his own lap. "But, we'll have to stay here or I'll probably be taken by Kaiba's goons." With his left arm, he cradled Bakura, and with his right, he touched the boy's pale cheek. "You're safe with me."

"I know I'm safe with you... I won't let anyone hurt you... If the Oharoah tries I'll banish him into the Shadow Realm personally..." Ryou said as he relaxed into Marik's arms, slowly going to sleep.

Marik felt Bakura settle down in his arms and slowly, carefully reached around him to rub Bakura's back as lightly as possible. "That's enough talking, Ryou. You've had a long day and need your sleep." Marik felt that he should stay awake, just in case Mokuba or Gozaboro should show up and take either away from the other. The Egyptian saw that his coat was slipping from his love's shoulders and smirked. "That just won't do." He grasped the fabric and pulled it back up to Bakura's chin. "I wouldn't want you fall ill."

Ryou was already dozing off when Marik whispered to him, but rubbing his back sent him to sleep almost instantly. He was woken by a loud banging, Ryou answered the door, only to see two gigantic men in black suits standing there. Ryou suddenly collapsed, his hair becoming sharper, his eyes darker, and his grin madder. "What the hell do you want?" Yami spat, annoyed that he'd been woken up. "Where is Marik Ishtar?" One of the bouncers said, looming menacingly over the spirit, who just glared in response. "I don't know, piss off before I kill you." Bakura said back, his voice venomous and dangerously low, like an angry lion. One of the bouncers made an attempt to punch the white haired male, who sidestepped and promptly banished them to the Shadow Realm. "Bloody idiots..." He said as he dragged the bodies down the stairs, before allowing Ryou control again.

Marik woke, hearing all the commotion at first. "Bakura?" He was starting to panic. In one swift move, he was up and searching the apartment. His heart was going a thousand miles an hour until he finally spotted Bakura. "You're safe!" He grabbed Bakura and held him close. "I swear, if anything happens or anyone touches you, I'd kill them."

"Marik, I'm fine. They woke Bakura up... He's not a day person. Or a night person during the winter. He sort of hibernates." Ryou said, confident his darker half was asleep in his own soul room. "Where were you sleeping, out of interest?" Ryou said as he grabbed a packet of cream puffs from the fridge, squirting more chocolate sauce over them. "They're so mean with the chocolate sauce on them." Ryou said as he bit into one.

Marik chuckled. "I was sleeping where you left me, Ryou." He grabbed another packet of cream puffs and ate them. "You know, personality wise, you and he are different from each other, but you're both so adorable." He chuckled again, pulling the small boy onto his lap. "I'm going to assume that it's late or early in the morning. I think I'll be going soon. Little Yugi and his friends would want to talk to us."

"It's 10 in the morning, and it's Saturday. Yugi and the others don't know where I live. Also you have 3 texts from your sister." Ryou said as he finished off the plastic container of his favourite food. "I suppose Bakura is adorable, in his own way." He said, binning the box. "Dad just transferred some money into my bank account. Want to go shopping?" Ryou said, looking at his own phone.

"You looked at my phone?" Marik gave him a questioning look. "You're not jealous, are you, little Ryou?" He kissed Bakura again. "Don't be. My heart is yours. I'd love to go shopping, but what did my sister want?"

"It sort of buzzed and then the screen lit up, and I was passing by. She wants to know where you are and if you are okay." He said, before scowling. "Don't call me little. I'm not Yugi-sized anymore, thank you." Ryou said laughing at his joke about his ex-friend turned enemy.

"You're still my cute little Bakura." Marik reached up and squeezed his cheek. "And, you're still smaller than me." He kissed Bakura's cheek. "I should go find my sister."

"You can if you want, Ryou." Marik smiled. "I won't try to stop you. I'd rather you stay by my side, love." He put his coat back on. "I just want her to see that I'm alright."

"Alright, I'll come with you." Ryou said as he put on his coat. He walked into the Egyptology department of the Museum, his Millennium Ring guiding him there, where Ishizu was waiting with the Pharaoh. "Ryou, where is Marik?" The Pharaoh asked in a commanding tone. "I don't know, why should I know where he goes?" Ryou said, angry that Ishizu had brought along the one person he hated most. You receive a text from Ryou, saying that Ishizu is in the Egyptology part of Domino Museum, but the Pharaoh is there as well.

Marik, leaning against the bookcase, takes out the Millennium Rod and brings forth his spirit. His hair stood up and his sneer just got wider as he read the text message. Emerging from the shelves, he stands next to his lover. "Thank you, Bakura, for keeping my dear sister entertained for me." He bows mockingly to the Pharoah. "It's been a long time, my king. To what do I owe the pleasure?" He stands up straight.

"Marik, I demand you return Kaiba's soul at once!" The ex-King shouted in his most angry tone of voice. "Who says it can be returned from the dark depths of the Shadow Ream? It could have quite easily been devoured, at least partially. Even if we did return it, Kaiba would be somewhat... changed." Yami Bakura said, chuckling darkly. "He'd end up rather brain damaged. Still, he always was a bit mad, if you ask me. Denying evidence right in front of your eyes." the white-haired spirit said, still laughing.

"Yugi, what's he talking about?" Tea's hand was over her mouth. "What's happened to Kaiba?" Tristan actually carried Kaiba's body on his back. "This guy needs to lose a few pounds." Marik chuckled, amused by this. "What's the matter, Pharoah? Never had your orders denied?"

"I believe he lost the pounds by losing his soul to darkness." Yami Bakura said, grinning sadistically. "And from what I remember of my past life, he never had an order denied, the spoilt brat."
