- Chasing Storms is a fantasy roleplaying game set on a specific location within the world of Verattia. Its main goal is to give a feel and introduce new players into the said world/RP-verse.
The plot is rather simple, and linear.
The player's characters are new recruits of the Legion. In order to prove their worth and finally be welcomed into the grand battalion as regular members, they must first pass a trial - their very first mission. In this case, theirs is to head into a small, and nearly non-existent island somewhere in the vast Mid-Sea, and eradicate the mysterious creature that plagues the island with constant storms of various kinds - dust storms, sandstorms, rainstorm, whirlwinds, and the prevalent thunderstorms.
There, the characters are to find their way out of the place, only to be forced to travel various areas located around the island, and fight various creatures, solve mysteries and puzzles, and even fight a terrifying boss monster, which would all amount to clear out all the storms and rid the island of its plague, allowing them to return to the Legion with a successful mission.
The RP itself should contain a fair amount of plot-centered chapters, but is completely adjustable for better character development. This said, the RP's focus would be on developing the player's characters, and establishing them within the RP-verse's lore. - Tales of Verattia, or simply ToV, is a roleplay setting made by yours truly. It is an ever-growing world where the decisions of the players and the actions of their characters forever mold the world's history, and imprint their legacy onto the growing story.
It covers a number of genres, from high fantasy, to steampunk, even up to light politics. In this world, various flora and fauna exist and emerge as time passes, creating a progressive environment for the players to have their characters dwell in.
Before you ask anything, please take a look here.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING, PLEASE POST BELOW. - The New Legion is the largest organization in all of Verattia.
Originally named "The Legion", it was intended to be an ever-growing battalion, but was used to ensure that peace and order was kept throughout the world. During those ancient times, the Legion was both feared and respected for its might and the unbreakable unity of its troops. However, the original Legion was disbanded when the most respected Commander, Eshwald Rigivan, was felled in a hundred-year war.
In the aftermath of the war, the original Legion's troops were scattered, and purposeless, until it was reunited by several charismatic individuals within the ranks. It was in those trying times that the New Legion was founded - an imitation of the old group, and a continuation of its renowned services.
Now, the New Legion's purpose is not to ensure peace and order, rather, it is to prevent and avoid any threat to the world from getting large. Things such as wars, monster infestations, etc. are frequently monitored and handled by the New Legion's troops. However, unlike its old incarnation, the New Legion is divided, with each of Verattia's main continents housing a base of operations for the groups several divisions. The tasks that fall under them are always within their territory - a division stationed in Yislone will only act upon events that transpire in Yislone, and a division stationed in Ristafel will only act upon events that transpire there.
Still, the New Legion, like most organizations has a main headquarters - where they store various necessary and extremely valuable information and objects, and where the meetings of the several high officials are held. This is located in the isles of Iscaria, and is heavily secured.
New recruits of the organization has to pass a trial in order to be officially received as members of the group, and those that do not pass are removed. Of course, that is after they finish a three-year training course within the renowned military institutes located in Vadros. - This RP is not only going to be introducing players to the setting, but also will be used to test a system to handle certain situations, especially combat scenes. So expect RPG-like mechanics, such as health, attack power, skills, character growth, etc.
What if I don't want to play as any of the available races?
You are free to create your own, provided there is a reasonable lore behind it. Do know that new races are all derived from the original ones, aka, the Old Ones.
How many characters are we allowed to have?
One. Unless you can justify why you are going to have more than one, and how you will manage to keep both at balance without either one becoming less significant. In that regard, I will only be accepting one (1) Dragonkin character.
Is there going to be a player limit?
I am going to accept five initially. However, should this warrant enough interest, I will be willing to welcome more players.
Is there going to be a posting sequence or rule?
Yes, though it won't be too demanding nor too strict. It's pretty much just to regulate posts, ensure post quality, and prevent plot disorientation.
Are there gonna be more lore revealed to us?
Most certainly. But not too much. You can ask me, if you want additional lore from what is going to be given.
Can I play as a lorekeeper?
No, unfortunately. However, lorekeepers might be available in future instances of the RP-verse, should there be any.
FINALLY, I REQUEST YOUR COMMITMENT. IF YOU ARE SIMPLY GOING TO ABANDON THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF ITS PROGRESS, THEN PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP. I WISH TO SEE THIS RP SEE ITS END, AND HOPEFULLY SO DO YOU.
If you've read until here, please include "ech" in the last line your post.
I apologize for the lack of fancy imagery and coding, if you were expecting some. It simply was going to be a waste of time setting it up, in my opinion.
