Chapter One: A Dance of Darkness and Light

As Katrina buried her face in Darrene's chest, the Wyvern's heart beat faster, each thud sending heat surging through the fiery creature's body. A warm, orange glow starting to seep out from underneath the crimson scales adorning her colossal frame as Darrene's wings came to instinctively wrap around the Katrina's smaller form.

Her blackened hide just the same hue of black like the raven hair that adorned her head a few moments ago. Reminding Darrene of the first time she had laid eyes on the woman, reminded of the crushing moment when she had challenged the draconic gods and had her faith shattered. She would have been left with an aching hole where her heart lay if it wasn't for Katrina's kindness igniting a spark in her chest.

A spark that with each passing moment spent together grew brighter, a gentle, warm fire burning inside her heart as each time her broad crimson chest rose and fell, she could feel the flames surge inside her infernal core. What was once stern, cold dedication to her faith had been replaced by something far kinder, emerging from the ruined shackles of her dedication to a religion that did not look kindly on the feeling that kept her heart enthralled. A sensation that would have left Darrene questioning her own purity as she would have cast those thoughts out of her head. But in this very moment, she did not care if her faith would have deemed her a sinner, the only thing on her mind being the dark-scaled woman resting against her flame-forged form.

Raising her horned visage, Darrene would gaze down on Katrina having nuzzled her dark head closer to her chest, the sight making the wyvern's heart flutter as she'd feel the heat she had made her own surge through her body. Her wings coming to fold around the dragon's dark-scaled form as Darrene's flame-like eyes met Katrina's vivid golden orbs.
A gentle rumble radiating from within the wyvern's chest as she exhaled a thick, fume that sent sparks flying into the cool air of the chamber.

"I am glad..." Darrene spoke slowly, closing her eyes as she rested her elongated head against Katrina's own, their horns aligning as the wyvern closer her eyes, letting go of a sigh-like sound accompanied by her long tail forming a circle around Katrina's draconic form. She did not know what the future would have in store for them, but in this very moment, Darrene, for the first time, felt genuinely happy as her powerful heart beat strong against Katrina's own.

Ki'Tavi brought his eyes closer to the flame. He had to figure out what was causing the fire. For a moment, he considered trying Veth's solution to dunk it in water. However, maneuvering over to the basin would have required him to try and get past several cots without setting any of them alight. No, it was safer where he was, far away from anything flammable.

He stared at his scales, noting that it wasn't the scales on fire, but something under the scales. He started to focus on the tip of his tail, seeing if he could actually feel where the fire was coming from. As a cat, he'd always had a fair amount of control over his tail, but this took some serious concentration. He could feel like there was some new muscle in his tail that was too relaxed. It was small, but as he focused on trying to tighten the muscles, he noticed the flames started to die down.

After a few moments, the flames went away completely.

He blinked. So the fire really was coming from him. He looked over his scales, finding similar pores to the one on his tail under many of his scales. Apparently most of them were naturally closed for him, while others were naturally open. He looked down to his foreleg, trying to focus on those pores. First, he tried to open them. He watched as more of the pores started to open, increasing the amount of fire until his entire leg was engulfed in flame.

A grin spread across his lips. So this was something he could control....

With a little more focus, he managed to close the pores completely, sealing away the fire on his legs. Figuring out the first pore had been the most difficult. Once he knew what to look for, he started to become aware of where such pores were at on his body.

However, actually controlling them at will proved to be exceedingly difficult.

Ki'Tavi would close the pores in one spot, and accidentally open pores somewhere else. It was almost comical watching his brow furrow as he stopped the fires in one spot just for them to spring up somewhere else. He pushed himself up from the ground. Maybe, he reasoned, if he opened them all at once, it'd be easier to close them all, too.

He closed his eyes, focusing on opening all of those pores at once. In an instant, he felt warmth as his entire form was engulfed in flames.

Ki'Tavi opened his eyes to look over his form. It was rather surreal to see his entire form engulfed in flames, but to feel no pain from it. Taking a breath, he closed his eyes and focused on now closing all of those pores. A sudden chill washed over him, and when he opened his eyes again, the flames were extinguished completely.

"HA!" He laughed, rather pleased with himself, only to feel a new warmth on the back of his neck as some of the pores reopened. He sighed, sitting down as he shook his head. Even if he had figured out how the fires worked, he still had to consciously focus to switch things from the norm... If he lost that concentration, well... He sighed as he looked at the flaming tip of his reignited tail.

"This is going to take some practice...." He muttered to himself. "Then again..." He paused, looking behind himself at his wings. "Fire isn't the only thing that'll take some serious practice..." Ki'Tavi mused as his tail wrapped around his feet.

How long would it be, he wondered, until he wasn't just a giant fucking fire hazard?

Veth Denrilith

mayvara_the_sun_dragoness_by_aomori-dauancg.png

21 | Elf | Zephyr
Veth followed after Zephyr silently as he lead herself and Eldynn away from the others. As usual Eldynn excitedly interacted with the man, seemingly unfazed by everything that has happened thus far. Originally, Veth had considered the fairy as a possible asset, but now reviewing the girl's high energy and quickness to chatter, she doubted the fairy could keep a secret very well. She did herself admit to her kind basically collecting gossip on others, which also meant they had potentially shared it as a result.

They were led to a door, which Zephyr opened before entering it. Veth was skeptical and looked before she stepped forward. It was a cloudy, sunny sky; yet there was no ground to be found. If one were to step into this room, it seemed like they would be falling forever. Was this what the others had to go through? Be thrown and change into a dragon before hitting whatever ground was below them that she was currently unable to see. So, it was down to this, being killed by Nox for refusing to go forward and change, or step past this threshold without knowing if she would live or die.

Though her face was completely neutral, her heart was pounding as she stared down into the endless sky. There were worse ways to die, at least the scenery was lovely. Veth took a deep breath, backed away from the door a few feet before charging forward, giving her little chance of changing her mind once she got close to the open doorway. To Nether with it. She closed her eyes tightly as she felt herself falling, the wind rushing past her ears as she plummeted. Her heart was racing and she could feel her entire body pulsing. She felt a prickling sensation wash over her flesh, pins and neeldles one would have after a limb had fallen asleep. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable.

Then, something strange happened. Her descent began to slow until she stopped moving entirely, simply left floating in the air, completely suspended. It took her a minute before she dared to open her eyes, and when she did she blinked a few times before looking around. She really had expected to die doing this, but to be frozen in the air like this, was she being toyed with? She warily looked around, but couldn't spot Zephyr. How far had she fallen?

Her thoughts were dragged back to her body. The prickling sensation increased, making her skin feel like is was going numb. Her mouth ached and her fingers and toes throbbed slightly, as if under pressure. She could taste blood in her mouth as her teeth began to change. Sharp claw burst forth from her fingers and toes, her boots shredded. Another pulse, a heartbeat later, scales began to push through her human flesh; white, yellow, orange shimmery scales. Veth closed her eyes tightly wanting this to be over, wishing she didn't have to go through this change. But it was too late now, she had jumped into this lighted abyss and being changed.

The was a popping sensation as she felt her bones shift, every part of her felt like it was under immense pressure, as though she was being pressed from all sides, yet the pressure was coming from within her own body, trying to escape. The pressure won, wings ripped from her back, limbs changed and elongated, a tail growing from her spine, horns bursting from her skull.

Veth's eyes remained closed as she tried to catch her breath from that brief moment where she had felt suffocated during her transformation. She hesitantly opened her eyes, yellow mixed with her own blue, creating a brilliant shade of green. She looked down at her body, still floating around aimlessly. She had wings, so she flapped them experimentally, unable to really keep them in sync and clearly unable to fly; so she ended up flailing futilely in an effort to fly back to the door she dropped from.

Lorella stirred in her cot. She had been sort of awake when Civis carried her over to the cot, enough to know that he was the one who had helped her. That thought was immediately drowned out by a splitting headache.

Placing her hand to her head, Lorella felt like the world was one bright noisy triton city. She just wanted it all to go away. As she blinked, looking around the spinning room, she was able to spot water in the basin. Yes! That was she what she needed to cure her ailments. Some actual water that would cancel out these terrible noises and lights.

Stumbling over to the basin, she managed to make it to almost all the way there before she slipped and stumbled headfirst into the basin, sinking into the water, which she quickly found was not occupied. Thankfully, there was room enough for two.

“Sorry about that,” Lorella spoke to Civis, as the headache subsided some. “Uhh…” she hesitated, not really used to doing this, “thank you for earlier. I let my liquor get the best of me.”

In spite of her best efforts, she had to admit that the triton man had grown on her remarkably fast. She had never really interacted with a triton before in such a manner, much less a male. There was something...nice about it. She actually wanted him to think highly of her as he gave her this nice warm fuzzy tingling feeling whenever she was around him.

-RADFOR BORA'URUG-

half_orc___dungeons_and_dragons_by_wandererfromys-d5hsrbz.jpg
Despite what had happened in the very short time that Radfor had been here and the information that had come into his knowledge, he was still in shock at the turn of events, even as he followed this elf-looking man down a long hallway. His mind ran a mile a minute as he continued trying to process all that had happened...

First was his arrival at this fortress. The journey itself was longer than he anticipated, and even though the fortress itself was menacing, he was excited to finally see it. The reception inside was....less than warm, if he had to describe it. People of all kinds were there; mostly human, but that was to be expected. He wasn't sure as to why they were there; perhaps they received the same letter as he did? He couldn't be sure. But he received his answer in a way he wasn't sure he liked.

They were brought to a pale, dark haired man with a dark aura to him, and told the lot of them that they were descendants of his children, four regal looking people at his side, and that they possessed a rare gift; Dragonblood. Radfor, like many others, was skeptical of this news, but he quickly changed his mind when the woman in red changed her form into that of a terrifying dragon, blocking the exit. They were then told that their powers were to be trained here, and any who refused...would have their souls consumed.

At this point, Radfor had gone into shock. He couldn't focus at all, not even when a grand feast was laid out for them. He merely sat at the table, staring at an empty plate, his head in his hands. The world around him had blurred, and he made no attempt to strike up a conversation. He merely sat, thinking. Would this be where he died? Stuck in a foreign fortress with people he didn't know? Would he never be able to find his parents? Could he never avenge his village?

Questions such as these filled his thoughts and wouldn't leave even after the feast was over, of which Radfor did not even touch. He had been effectively paralyzed by his fear, and moved with thinking, following those who left the table without really realizing it. They were taken to a room filled with cots, and Radfor sat on the nearest one he could find that wasn't taken. He took off his brown cloak and let it fall on the small bed, and placed his head in his hands, unsure of what to do next. While others left and some settled down to sleep, he found no fatigue settle in his head, but worry, more and more as he continued to think about his situation. He could find no respite in his thoughts, no matter how far he dug into them.

Eventually, he was moving without knowing, following the Elf-man down the hallway. That's when a thought hit him; would his parents want him to mope like this? Would the village? No! They'd want him to overcome this challenge just like he did with every other one he's faced! He wouldn't let them down; not again! He shook of his shock and returned his focus to what was at hand, and it was just in time to see the Elf-man open a large door to reveal what seemed to be done sort of....jungle? In a fortress? Radfor grew cautious, and even more suspicious when the Elf-man lead them to what seemed to be a pit filled entirely of mud and asked him to step in. One of the people in his group, some sort of cat woman, did so without hesitation, but Radfor raised an eyebrow. He didn't feel any malicious intent from this Elf-man, yet....it was such an odd request to do so. However, he knew that to refuse was to have his soul sucked from him. It would be best to just play along and look for a chance to escape. However, a thought came to his mind, and he looked down at his body. What about his clothes? They'd certainly collect mud on them if he stepped in the pit, but....stripping down in front of people he didn't know? That was something he hoped to avoid at all costs. Reluctantly, he turned to the Elf-man with the slightest tinge of pink in his face as he asked him a question with an embarrassed tone.
"Um.....we.....dont have to strip down first.....do we?"

“Apology accepted and you are welcome. Sometimes simple words are what’s needed instead of an eloquent speech.” She chuckled as her face lightened up to match his geelfull demeanor. His laughter was deep and delightful. She was glad his sour mood had melted away. Guess she was more helpful than she usually thought herself. A low pleased grumbling sound resonated from her throat as her tail flicked about happily.

“Indeed, it is good to let go of the small things. I mean look at us! We’re dragons!” She circled around him with a skip to her step. “It would be a shame to let anger get in the way of all the amazing things we can do now.” Hazel day and smiles at him. This was indeed to cool to be and at. Hehhe maybe she could recruit him for some mishchief in these forms.

She kept on smiling and her tail kept flicking as she sat in front of him. “Do you want to do something fun? Are we allowed to explore a bit?” The tiredness that called for a nap a moment ago was subsiding as she felt the urge to run around and do...do something!!! Dance or talk or something! Her travelers spirit and Dancers heart made for a rather restless woman. Always wanting to do something, and now in this form. So many new possibilities. She felt like a child, wanting to play, wanting to run till she couldn’t stop. Haha, maybe her mind was taking some time to adjust to this form. Could explain such rapid changes in mood or energy.which ever it was.

Cranea | age 21 | Viera
Cranea had been in the back of the crowd for most of the time thinking to herself. she never stepped outside of her forest and when she did, this is what was waiting for her? Tales of dragons? And Threats on her life? She still couldn't believe in. Cranea kept on retracing her thoughts to when she first got the letter up until now..

When she arrived to the fortress , (which was not an easy journey mind you that). Cranea was contemplating as to why she was even going. how could another viera be living anywhere other than a forest. Even as she went inside she was greeted coldly , and beings of all kind , not one of a viera . Had they received the same letter? She had never seen anything other than her kind.

A menacing arrogant man with dark hair began explaining utter nonsense , he sounded like an absolute lunatic and it was a wonder at how he wasn't locked away, but he even had his own posse with him so obviously he wasn't the only one who believed this . People yelled and confronted him , while others were silent. Cranea was about to walk out when the women in red , seemingly out of nowhere turned into a.. dragon! Out of thin air , the shock she felt almost made her pass out. she felt like an absolute fool.

Mostly everyone was acting irrationally , some bowing in praise , some like her shocked and not being able to react , words not being enough , and them just standing in utter awe and fear. Even then being offered a feast did not set aside the tense awkward feeling she had her ears where perked up stiff , any and every noise making her jump, but even with that being said she couldn't just deny it , she could be scared and still have a full stomach. Even a .. bead? a bed? whatever that was she wouldn't sleep on that.

Even the fact that everyone was told they could harness this power. And honestly Cranea didn't even want to have these powers , but it was either that or getting your soul devoured. Even being accompanied by people who shared the same predicament as her was to no comfort. But being led to a fortress with trees and wild life brought her so much comfort as she almost wandered off before being told to step into a pit of.. mud? what were they up to? one by one people stepped in.. and even though she did not want to get her soul devoured she couldn't just obey like some pup "I..." Cranea said as she gasped , her voice cracked under the stress " I'm scared."

Besides...Im not sure we can get out...without,you know...taking out the door..." he chuckled nervously, before looking about the room. Hazel’s expression dropped. Yeah..they couldn’t really leave with out trouble or wreackage. As much as Hazel liked both she wouldn’t want her shenanigans to cost Midas. Hazel’s wings and tail drooped as she felt defeated. Stuck in. A single room with nowhere to go and Nothing to do. She sighed and looked to the ground....

She started to walk away as an idea struck her. Smiling while her back was to Midas Hazel kept walking for a bit before turning right back around and jumping on Midas. She laughed as she avoided his spiky spine as they tumbled for a bit. Her hands? Dragon hands? Claws? Dragon paws? Those, just that handish part pinned him down as her tail flicked playfully and she laugh. “Hahahahaha! Let’s just have fun in here then heheh. If we can’t go out.” The childish feeling came over her again but she embraced it. “Let’s play!” She giggled, if a dragon could giggle, and smiled. “Think you can win? Hahahah” her eyes lit up and sparkled a bit. Hopefully he would join her and not just throw her off and say no.

Katrina didn’t respond, simply allow herself to relax up against Darrene’z massive bulk.

As for Vis, he would look to Ishnai first. “Become one with the earth. Do not worry, however. You won’t drown.” After saying this he would shrug in the orc’s direction before stepping up beside the rabbit. “There is no need to be afraid.” He said calmly, passing her a reassuring smile. “Come, let me help….” with that he would take her hand, gently guiding her in the direction of the mud pit.

Zephyr was having a bit more fun with this. After Veth finished transforming, he would’ve swooped down to catch the air fish by her tail, using his powerful wings to fly upward before dropping her once more only to grab her again, hugging her close to his chest. “Isn’t is beautiful up here?” He sighed, totally ignoring any personal space.

He closed his eyes, thinking. He didnt want to kill her spirit here, but there just wasnt much to keep them active yet. What could they do to entertain themselves...

He didnt get much of a chance to think, as soon he found himself with a new weight on his back. He stumbled as he fell, coming terribly close to crushing one flaming tail as he hit the stone floor. Cranking his head to one side, he peered up at Hazel, slightly confused.

After a moment he realized what she meant. So that was her game?
"Hmmm...lets play" locking his claws into the stone as he pushed him, and her up, standing again. He didnt really put much thought in as he quickly began to buck, rearing back like a mad ox, shaking himself side to side.

Hazel laughed and wrapped her tail around Midas and held on tightly as he tried to shake her off. She attempted to swing her weight to one side of him to disrupt his balance. Getting Midas onto his side or back would make him easier to keep down. Using all of her weight Hazel leaned left as much as she could while still being able to hold onto the spiny back. The grip of her now being dubbed dragon paws was slipping a little but her long tail kept her in place.

It might take a little more than this to bring him down. He was indeed more or less a huge boulder in this form and her more like an elegant ribbon of scales. ”Is that all you got?” she laughed happily. The sound echoing slightly across the room as she playfully snapped her jaws around his face.”Haha do you think dragon flesh would taste good at all? Heheh though maybe you’d end up tasting like a bunch of rocks if I took a bite of you.” she gently bit at his neck. It wouldnt hurt as so much feels bit annoying paired with her little flirty taunt as retreated her tail from him while her paw/claws still kept her in place. If he went down or bucked again, she would be ready to jump.

Curiously looking over her distant kin upon the shore, both of them quite wary, Ishnai called to them and said "It feels odd, yet... soothing. It is not bad in here." She hoped that her reassurance actually reassured the odd pair of laquine woman and orc, coupled with Vis' words. However, when Vis himself instructed her to become one with the earth, she found her eyes widening and ears pinning back before he reassured him that she wouldn't drown. The normally brave and proud cat-woman shivered in a way akin to a frightened young kitten.

The thought of submerging herself in this mud reminded her of a time when she was very young. She'd fell into quicksand whilst going to retrieve water from a nearby oasis near where her people had been camping, and found herself flailing about, the sun disappearing from her view. She felt sand going into her mouth, coughing and choking, whileshe thrashed about in a panic. Just when she thought it was her time to return to the earth, however, she felt something grab her hand... the familliar, strong hand of her father.

This terrifying memory almost sent her into a panic once more, the cat-woman beginning to flail about, before another part of the memory was triggered that put her at ease.

When he had pulled her to the surface, he had told her two very important things. One, quicksand was only dangerous if one panicked and moved around frantically. If one stayed calm and still, they had a much better chance of not being pulled under. Secondly, he said that facing one's fears is the key to overcoming any challenge and coming out the other side a better, stronger person. This had inspired her then, once she'd calmed down, and it inspired her now. "Alright... I trust you, Vis..." it was still odd to simply be calling Vis by his name, no reverent title in front of it. However, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and allowed herself to sink. Inch by inch, she felt her body being enveloped, then her neck, then her head focusing on the vision of Vis, reassuring her that she would not drown. Once she eas enveloped, she was right. She didn't feel a need to breathe in here, as if somehow the mud itself was sustaining her. This must be why he called it becoming one with the earth...

Suspended there within the mud, Ishnai at first felt nothing but the wet, cool blanket of earthen material enveloping her, and the profound sense of calm that accompanied it. She was in her element, both literally and figuratively. Yet she couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of anxiety regarding the fact that she felt nothing else at the moment, slowly strengthening amidst the calm that otherwise pleasantly consumed her mind at this moment. Yet, just as she thought that something was preventing the transformation she expected, she felt a tightness growing in her feet, first, mayhap because they were deepest within her earthen cocoon.

The tightness grew in intensity, the uncomfortable feeling making her shift a little within the mud, writhing and tensing, thrashing her legs, drawing her further down with each movement. Yet, she was no longer scared anymore. She could feel the fur of her feet receding, her claws growing longer and sturdier and the claw-sheaths between her toes closing in. She felt a heavy sensation overcome her feet and the lower halves of her legs as brown, thick, scaly skin formed where fur had once been. Then, the discomfort only rose as she sunk even deeper, her eyes by now screwed shut as thankfully dull, manageable pains worked their way up her legs, that scaly hide spreading over it like rapidly-growing moss.

Once the spread reached her spine, the feeling increased even further as she doubled over in reaction to this aching stretch she felt throughout her entire torso. By now, she was near the bottom of the mud-pit as her torso elongated and her spine bent to accommodate the four-legged stature of her spreading Draconic form, those same brown scales covering her back while a lighter brown, softer-yet-still-sturdy brown skin replacing the fur on her belly and chest.

Then, her arms shook as, within the mud, they began to grow and change with the rest of her, her elbows changing angle just as her knees had once before in order to better support the hulking weight they were now saddled with. To top off her arms becoming Draconic front legs, her fingers grew into spitting images of her new back feet, her second set claws growing larger and sturdier and ceasing their previous retractability. After the scales were done growing, next were the great spikes that caused a sharper sensation than all the rest to accommodate each spine in the area it was growing from, one for each of her vertebrae. Just when she thought the sensory assault on her torso was finished, next came her sensitive tail. She felt it stretching and elongating as the rest of her body had done, yet instead of bending like her knees, elbows and back had, it only grew and then gained the same spines, smaller yet still a bit more intense-feeling as they appeared, not to mention more numerous do to the sheer length her tail had grown to. It was now about the length of her torso, with more yet smaller vertebrae along the inside.

Her neck was next to starch, grow and gain a coating of the same brown scales as the rest of her.

Once it reached her head, the dull pain became quite a bit less bearable, and the sensations changed and morphed as her very skull did the same, elongating into that of a Dragon’s and once again gaining scales to replace her fur, her nose receding, whiskers disappearing, and fangs and teeth elongating and sharpening, feeling a dull, the morphing feline feeling a pins-and-needles feeling in her gums as they did so.

Once it was all said and done, she felt weak, but could tell she was much larger than her base form. She swore she didn’t feel much weight upon her new dragon’s head, meaning she had grown to stand at the bottom of the mud-pit and was nearly too large to even fit inside, yet not quite. She stayed still for a few moments, the now-draconic leopardess barely resisting the urge to simply lay down in the mud-bath and fall asleep for a time. After a minute or two of simply standing there, she used her newfound limb strength to push off the bottom, the head of a dragoness surfacing. Once her mouth had breached the mud, she let out a cry of pain, the air bringing with it all the sensations the mud seemed to have numbed. Every nerve in her head and neck felt as if it was on fire, so for now, she tread water as she very slowly got used to the pain. “V-vis” she barely managed to say through her pain. “H-how did I do? How is … my form?” She locked eyes with Vis, the sight of him acting as a stabilizer for her mind, something to focus on other than the pain. There her god was, and she was now in his image, to better serve him in return for all he had done for her and her people, or that at least, her people had believed he had done.

Veth Denrilith

mayvara_the_sun_dragoness_by_aomori-dauancg.png

21 | Elf | Zephyr
Veth flapped around uselessly, wondering and even fearing she was going to be stuck floating here due to her failure in being able to fly. She had wings which proved to be completely useless, and a seed of doubt was planted that she could end up being perhaps the only one of them unable to fly. What was the point of having wings then?

In the next moment, she felt her tail getting snatched and was being pulled upward by it, by who could be none other than Zephyr himself. She snarled at him for the offense, dragging her around like this, only to then release her so that she fell once more. He grabbed her again, only this time not by her tail, but a full on dragon hug, causing her to try and squirm out of his grasp.

"Beautiful scenery completely ruined by the company," she replied, "I would demand you release me, but I assume that as I cannot get to the door myself, I have to unfortunately rely on a womanizing god. I warn you, should your hands wander, I shall make use of these new physical traits to make you regret such offenses against my person."

Veth stopped squirming, giving him what could only be a death glare filled with promise should he try anything why she was being grappled by him. She didn't care if she had just threatened a god. She hadn't said she would kill him, she probably couldn't, but she would make him regret any actions taking advantage of this current situation where she had no choice but to depend on him to get back into the stronghold.

He finally stopped as he tried to catch his breath. Apparently he had been blessed with quiet abit of room to get a grip on. Looking about the room as his body shifted with each breath, he groaned, suddenly feeling the teeth at his neck. He shook his head to try and shoo her away, sending a slight glare up her way.

How could he get her off...he needed to put her in a position she couldnt fit...between a rock and a hardplace...
He grinned, shfting his weight to one side as he fell over, continuing until he would be on his back with his legs in the air. She waa smart enough to move...and if not he would move immidiatly...

Lucky he checked the room. Wouldnt want to crush someone by mistake...

Civis was sitting submerged under the water watching the bubble float by and pop upon reaching the surface. Lost in deep thought, he hadn't really noticed Lorella as she tumbled into the basin. He was too preoccupied with how he was going to handle transforming into some beast. Would it really be as painful as was what the raven haired woman was going through? His train of thought was interrupted by the voice of the female Triton.

"Hah, 'tis fine. We all get carried away at times." He chuckled. "I'm having a hard time dealing with all of this myself..." He trailed off as he turned to look at her. He hadn't really gotten this close of a look at her face before. The way her hair floated in the water as she spoke and the striking details of her face were honestly the most beautiful things he had ever seen. The longer he looked at her the faster his heart beat. It was strange. No one else had ever made him feel this way before. He felt a warm glow all over his body when he thought about her.

Shaking away those strange feelings, he continued talking. "So... Art thee at all frightened about becoming a dragon?" He asked nervously. "Quite honestly, I'm terrified..." he said with a smile. For some reason, talking to her had made him eel a bit better about the situation.

He was starting to fall over, though it seemed to be of his own accord. She snickered at his glare and jumped off Midas. When he seemed to resemble a flipped over turtle she laughed and jumped right onto his stomach, "Hahaha you might get stuck like this Midas." Hazel smiled and pat his snout. "If you can't get up it then by the usual rules I win!" a triumphant laugh escaped her as she held her head up high but her laughter kept getting in the way of a noble pose.

So instead the dancer finished her triumph and settled right where she was and laid there smiling. Her tail flicked back and forth lazily. "Do you accept your defeat?" she giggled, practically nose to nose with him. Her head was tilted to the side as she asked this, eyes closed, smiling. Later her face may hurt from the constant grinning but she couldn't help it. this was indeed hilarious and enjoyable.

-RADFOR BORA'URUG-
half_orc___dungeons_and_dragons_by_wandererfromys-d5hsrbz.jpg
The Elf-man, Radfor's supposed ancestor, did nothing but shrug. What!? How was that supposed to be an answer!? You'd think being some sort of ageless being would at least give you time to work on your manners. Unfortunately for Radfor, a lesson in etiquette wasn't really something he had time to give right now, not that he'd be the best teacher for that anyway. He had been away from people for a very long time in the pursuit of his family. Who's to say anything he did anymore was considered polite?

He sighed, redirecting his attention to the mudpool. The catwoman inside called out to them that it was no danger, which reminded Radfor a little of the lake he used to swim in at the village, his father always diving in and calling out that the water was 'Just fine!'. A small smile fluttered onto his face, but he looked down at his clothes and shook his head; it would take ages to get all the mud out of them, but he refused to strip down. It was at this point he noticed that his armor and sword were not on him; perhaps he took them off without noticing when he was in shock. He supposed there was little he could do about it now though, and with a small shiver of fear, he trudged forward to the pool.

The mud itself looked like any other he had seen; no discoloration of any sort, and reminded him of a pudding his mother used to enjoy. He dipped his foot into it and allowed the mud to cover some of his boot. Yep, nothing really different; just a pool of mud. Maybe this was one of those mud baths he had heard foreigners talk about. Anything was possible when dealing with an ancient Dragon elf man, he supposed. He turned to the Elf man once more, looking for some sort of reassurance, but he was helping the rabbit woman along. He turned and prepared to step into the pit, but alas, he moved a moment too quick and lost his balance. He fell face first into the mud with a loud splat!

Instinctively, Radfor held his breath as he hit the mud, and kept his eyes shut tight so to not have any of the mud make its way into them. He tried to move his body through the paste like substance, but it felt as if the more he struggled, the more the mud tried to hold him in place. He began to panic, which was never a good thing to do. His reserve of oxygen got lower and lower, and with it grew his panic. He began to flail his limbs, trying desperately to break through the surface of the mud and to find fresh air, but it was all for naught. Once again, he felt helpless as fate dangled his strings to a tune he felt everyone but he could hear. Unable to hold it any longer, he let out his breath....

But found that he was breathing. Confused, he inhaled once more, and sure enough, there was air. His panic began to subside as curiosity set in. He hadn't ever been submerged in mud before, but he could almost certainly say that it wouldn't allow you to breathe. So what was special about this mud that was keeping him suspended this way? The mud was....was......hm. Strange. Now that he paused and took a minute to feel this mud surrounding him....it didn't...feel like mud at all. Sure, it had that wet, earthy texture to it, but....this mud felt almost like...he had known it for years. Like a blanket he used as a child, or a favorite toy from infancy, this mud felt extremely familiar to him for some reason, as if it whispered to him that there was nothing to fear here. His body lost all tension to it as he truly relaxed and let the cool sensation of the mud cover his body...

The mud was quick to work whatever magic it possessed, and before Radfor could even notice, it had stripped away the clothes he wore and seemingly melted it into the mud itself. The mud wrapped itself around him continuously, like a ribbon over paper, and a tingle filled Radfor's entire body. It was like...a buildup of energy you felt right before you fought someone, or the excitement of discovering something new. These feelings swept Radfor's whole person, and his mind went blank as his body began to take on a new form...

His size began to grow, and with it, his skin turned darker, forming scales and spines as his arm and hands changed from human appendages to terrifying claws and two large front legs, his used to be legs copying the action. More spines and scaled began to cover his back as wings sprouted, dark and leathery, increasing in size with Radfor himself. His head began to morph and his neck increased in length, as pairs of razor sharp fangs filled his mouth and his head sprouted a large, green horn, serrated and powerful. Nerves and bones he had never felt before began to form as his wings grew even bigger and a tail began to form on his end, at first rather snakelike, but it began to grow as the rest of his body did as well, spines forming on his tail and scales filling in the rest. His head morphed more and more, and his eyes slid to the sides of it, changing in color from a bright brown to a deeper, yellowish amber. And he continued to grow, and grow, and grow, muscles he had never felt taking place, organs appearing he had never heard of, blood rushing through his now reptilian body at a pace he never imagined, until.....

ancient_green_dragon_by_benwootten-d6jtuva.jpg

The horned head of a jade-colored dragon pierced through the surface of the mud with a mighty roar. It clambered to the side of the mud pool with its front legs and crawled out as fast as it could and made its way into the jungle brush, knocking down trees and other fauna as it went before it eventually collapsed against the side of a large tree and began to breath heavily.

Radfor, his mind finally returning to him, stared down at the ground for a few seconds before registering where he was. Of course, it was a little harder to do, what with his eyes on separate sides of his head now, and he grew confused. Why was he so high up as well? He looked down to see nothing supporting him. That's....odd. Maybe he was holding on to something? He raised a claw from the ground to look, expecting a green colored large hand, but was instead greeted by the jet black talons of his front leg. He let out a half-screech, half-roar of surprise as he looked over his entire body, stopping mostly on the wings and tail, as his eyes widened trying to process all the information.
"B-by the Gods.....w-what's happened t-to me!?!?!"

" Ah..Thankyou.." Cranea said before she gripped the man's hand tightly , not to much to much to hurt the man but it was just showing the fact she was extremely uncomfortable. As they got closer to the mud pit her ears dropped to the sides of her face as she stuck out her right foot , as if she was testing water to see if it was too hot. Then she put in her other foot. but before going all in Cranea took off her armour plates , she looked around to see other people , near the mud pit as well , and one already inside .

Gulping she let go of the man's hand , and let herself get comfortable in the mud. Cranea took a big breath of relief before realizing that she was sinking in the mud. "uhm..?! Cranea was never the type of girl to step into dirt , she liked to keep her fur clean. but soon she lost her footing and slipped into the pit squealing before submerging . Cranea wasn't afraid of drowning in mud persay but more of the fact that the fall wasn't intended.

After a while of holding her breath she realized she wasn't suffocating , and even after gasping for air she noticed that she could breathe as if she wasn't just submerged in a pit a mud. And with that Cranea felt so serene , almost felt like she was asleep but aware. Yet in the back of her mind she could feel something change , her spirit felt rejuvenated , exhilarated at that fact , it felt like she was being cleansed of all impurities. Cranea shifted herself into a fetal position before she felt like she was being caressed by the mud , it encased around her and hardened as Cranea opened her eyes and mouth as if she was trying to gasp before she felt unimaginable weight on top of her , her heart beat faster and faster before she felt a surge of energy from the tip of her feet to the top of her rabbit ears as , was this what it felt like to be reborn? not as a mere mortal but as a dragon?! The hardened mud dispersed around her as she grew in size and length. She felt ecstasy, as this power surged within her veins. Even though Cranea felt amazing she was scared of this ability , but before being able to think she emerged from the earth her wings spread as she yelled and gasped but all that was heard was excessive roaring. She didn't know how to work her new limbs as she tumbled around before getting out of the pit and fumbling around , her front legs gave way multiple times as she just gave up and laid there , her eyes wide and almost hyperventilating, now she was scared she didn't realized she had changed so quickly.

What a pathetic excuse for a dragon.
Cranea thought to herself, whimpering.

Lorella bobbed in the water as she closed her eyes, listening to the voice of the triton. It felt good to be back in the water again. There was always something safe and protective about it. She felt much more secure in here than out there with a bunch of loud land folk.

Opening her eyes as the triton asked her a question, she felt compelled to hug him. He seemed, by his own admission, terrified. At first, she didn’t want to out of shyness as her heart began to beat faster and faster, the pressure and desire to hug him in the moment building. Just do it woman! She yelled at herself. Finally, she just sucked it up, and shot forward, embracing the triton in a deep hug.

“I’m scared too,” Lorella said quietly with her head next to his. “It looked painful. So painful.” Lorella was as scared as Civis was. “I believe we can and will get through it though. No matter how tough it is though, we’ll get through it: together. We’ll show dem landfolk what kind of stuff us wetfolk are really made of.” The idea of proving herself to be strong not just for the landfolk, but for Civis, made her feel good. She would get through this. She was sure of it.

Releasing the hug, Lorella smiled, feeling more confident with herself after that. Sticking out her hand like she had seen tritons do before, she asked, “What do you say, partner? Let's get out of this basin and show these landfolk a thing or two.”

Vis nodded while the dragons began to emerge, although he did give a hefty sigh as the orc we on a little rampage. As he asked what had happened to him, she simply said “I would suggest paying attention next time when things are explained.” With that he would gesture for all of the newly formed dragons to follow him, leading them back into their room.

Once the earth dragons all returned, Delta would’ve entered, although as she opened her mouth to call out to the siren and triton when she paused. The sight of Katrina cuddling with Darrene wasn’t a welcome one. But, Vis moved back to stand beside her, leaning in and whispering “Let the girl have this for now.” Reluctant the woman nodded before moving to collect the two aquatic creatures and leading them out of the room. They would be lead down the hall and through the door-portal like the others, but stepping through would lead them into a snow-concealed forest with a frozen lake not too far away. Gesturing towards it, the goddess would silently watch as they would move onto the glass-like surface, it cracking beneath their weight and having them fall through into the icy waters, but unlike natural ice it reformed almost immediately, trapping them beneath it.

Zephyr sighed “You’re no fun.” The dragon teased before turning onto his front, maneuvering Veth onto his much larger back. Here he went silently for a moment, wanting the woman to take in the beautiful scene for at least a few moments. “I guarantee you haven’t seen anything like this.” For whatever reason his voice had taken on a much softer tone, it being the most genuine she had heard it since arriving here at the stronghold.

One she had surfaced, Ishnai found herself observing the others with marked curiosity as they took their own impressive forms. Strangely, even though she was witnessing such vast changes right before her eyes, Ishnai found all of this a little easier to believe, even grasp, now that she had experienced the transformation for herself. The actions of the orc during and after his transformation were alarming, causing the feline to swim to the other side in fear of him. The leopardess decided to stay out of his way for now, as his form looked a bit sturdier than hers, albeit fittingly.

Upon looking at the other Dragoness who'd seemingly gotten out of the mud a little quickly, she gaed at her apologetically. "Are you alright, sister?" She said concernedly, clearly taking on the role of wyrmchilde as best she could in every way, although deep down she felt very strange about it.

Once everyone seemed to have transformed more or less safely and was out of th pit and able to move, Vis called the three of them back to from whence they'd come, Ishnai following him dutifully andcongradulating both her fellow dragons. "We are now what the Gods intended us to be... whatever happens, as children fo Vis, this humble huntress has your backs." With that, she'd exited the portal.

Once there, the first thing she noticed was the rather amorous position that Katrina and Darrene were locked in, fearing possible consequences for the pair, considering how Nox had treated them, However, once she saw Vis make Eshne back down, she remembered that, among what she'd been taught as a young kitten, all mutual love was to be honored and cherished by all parties involved or related. Allowing the two to be and wishing them silently well, Ishnai then glanced about hte room, unsure what to do while she waited for the final group having left the room to complete thier own transformations.

then. she caught sight of the firey dragon that, by his scent, was the male Feline she had seen earlier, and that she'd found quite attractive, yet was so cuaght up in the goings on around her that she'd never even approached him. She supposed now was as good as ever, and after just a moment's hesitation, walked over to him. "Greetings," she said. 'I am ishnai Khorus, of the Khorus feline tribe. I saw your orignal form, and felt it only right ot introduce myself to the only other wyrmchilde of my race here. Could I get your name, Male? Your clan name as well, perhaps? Have you heard of we Khorus?" She found herself keeping a bit more distance than she would normally, seeing the jets of flame that sparked from his body.

Veth held her glare even as Zephyr called her no fun. Did he think she was here for his amusement? That any of this was amusing? She wanted to clarify this to him, but kept her mouth shut. It was wiser to wait until she was out of the room before initiating such a conversation. She needed him to fly her out of here, angering him may result in her being dropped and left here. She

Zephyr's tone changed when he spoke again about the scenery surrounding them. "Perhaps not, I've not explored the entire world, so there may be something out there that surpasses this." She lifted her snout upwards a bit in a 'hmph' like manner, but didn't make a sound. She was not going to be fooled by his voice, as attractive as pitch was, the demeanor she had witness most of from him screamed he was most likely a notorious flirt. She did her best to keep from falling off of his back, his larger size making her grip onto him for the ride. While not as invasive as being hugged, Veth felt it was better to maintain a safe distance from someone she believed was a womanizer.

"Do you delay your ascent for a particular reason? Or are you just a slow flyer?" Veth was trying to poke at his pride, to get him to fly faster towards the door so she wouldn't have to be attached to him for longer than necessary, but it felt like he was drawing out the flight. It was an obvious tactic, she would admit it, but even the obvious statements like what she has said could still be viewed as a challenged. It might have come off as a bit insulting, but her tone wasn't harsh, just sort of teasing a bit.

Civis was pleasantly surprised by the woman's sudden embrace. His heart threatened to burst from his chest as she said her words of reassurance to him. He held her tightly while listening to her to her speech, and what a rallying speech it was! He felt that it was his duty to stay strong and protect her like he had protected those in need during his military service. Except this time it was different. There was something other than duty and honor fueling his desire to keep her happy and away from harm. Something far more important. Love.

Releasing her from his grasp he looked her in the eyes and nodded. "Let's do this." he replied as grasped her hand. Bringing her close once more before leaping out of the water. "For wetfolk!" he shouted valiantly only to be met with Delta's human form. He sighed as he followed behind her out the door.It was their time to transform, but knowing that Lorella was besides him eased his worry. If they could get through this, they could get through anything.

Civis was taken aback at the frozen forest laid out before him. Walking across the frozen lake, cracking the ice beneath his feet with every step. He wondered if this was some strange initiation he'd have to take in order to transform like the rest. He looked back at Lorella and gave her another nod as he took another step and suddenly crashed through the ice plummeting into the chilling waters beneath. The water was horrifically cold and he started visibly shaking. He had to get out of here or he was going to freeze. He tried to swim up out the way he came, but was confronted with the icey ceiling. He banged his fist up against the ice, but to no avail.

His movements started to slow down considerably. He could feel his heart start to slow as the chilling grasp of the water started to claim him. A gentle numbness spread across him. Was this what dying was like? Huh, well this wasn't so bad. Relaxing even... Slowly floating back down deeper into the waters and letting the water embrace him. Suddenly, he could feel a warmness deep within his chest start to grow outward. That wasn't the only thing that was growing. As his heart picked up speed, his body morphed and changed. He watched as his body grew larger and longer. ba bump Sprouting a large fin the spread down the length of his body. ba bump ba bump His arms and legs got longer and more muscular. ba bump ba bump ba bump Finally, his head had changed becoming sharp, pointed, and finned. ba bump ba bump ba bump ba bump ba bump With every beat of his heart was another surge of elemental power being contained within his new reptilian form.

With a final and mighty beat of his heart, he burst out from under the ice, gleaming like a rainbow in the sunlight. He stumbled forward out of the water and onto the land before Delta. He looked back at his new elongated form in horror. Rushing back over to the iced over lake and staring at his reflection in the ice. He let out a cry of pure anguish upon seeing himself. He had become one of the most hated enemies of all sea life, a sea serpent.

Ki'Tavi looked up from his scales as he heard a new form approaching him. Even though he watched her, his mind was focused on his own body, trying to make a single small flame travel slowly from the tip of his tail to his nose without breaking or causing fires in other areas. He was hell-bent on making himself less of a fire hazard as soon as possible, and that meant getting control of his flames. Even still, a spot would flare up here and there, or the flame would vanish before reappearing a couple of inches further. It was indeed a difficult thing to master...

For now though, it would have to wait. The one who identified herself as Ishnai had no shortage of questions for him, it seemed. Unfortunately, he was not yet comfortable enough with his flames to manipulate them and converse at the same time. Thus, the flaming mane reformed on his neck, as did the flames from his tail and legs.

She was interested in him because of their common species. Admittedly, there was a bit of mutual interest on that account. Ki'Tavi could tell at a glance that she was likely one of a tribe, and her statements only confirmed as much. On the plus side, her openness made gathering information much easier, even if she had, thus far, mostly only confirmed what he had already suspected.

"My name is Ki'Tavi, though I've been known to go by Kit. I cannot give you the name of my clan however, because I don't know my clan. I wasn't raised among our kind." He answered, leaving out specifically who had raised him. Even if he was quite proud to be a member of the Phantom Legion, there were many who, for one reason or another, held a grudge against the Legion or Mercenaries in general. Given he was alone here, it was wise not to reveal himself as a Mercenary until he was certain the attitudes of the others towards the Legion weren't hostile. He had taken great pains to make sure his mark on his left shoulder was not revealed. Even when he took his shirt off to take his plunge into lava, he had kept that shoulder turned so it would be out of sight.

"I know the name Khorus, but beyond the name not much." He continued, answering the last of her questions without ever breaking his gaze from her eyes. Ki'Tavi had always had something of a fascination with eyes. The body could lie, the mouth could most certainly lie, but the eyes? The eyes were harder to persuade into deceit. Thus came his peculiar habit of inspecting the eyes of those he came across. The more interested he was in a person, the more closely he would inspect their eyes.

Granted, his interest in this one was primarily due to a curiosity as to how his tribal brethren lived. Given her earlier groveling at Vis's feat, though, his expectations were set rather low. You see, for him, groveling was to sink as low as one could get. Regardless of the reason, to prostrate yourself before someone else showed a distinct lack of self worth as far as he was concerned. It was a lack of resolve, a lack of strength, and a lack of pride.

However, even if his views on her character were set rather low, he wouldn't deny her appearance was appealing. Not to mention he had, on a few occasions, found that a first impression could be proven false, given sufficient time. Due to the particularly unusual circumstances under which he formed his first impression of her, he could at least permit her the benefit of the doubt for now.

He noticed she kept her distance, her eyes at least once flicking towards the flames that came from him. A low chuckle escaped his throat. "Sorry. These flames may be a part of me, but I haven't gotten the hang of controlling them. Carrying on a conversation and controlling them at the same time is completely out of the question" He explained before lifting up his tail and making the flame at the tip travel slowly up the length of his tail. He really did need to practice as much as he could. Otherwise he stood a very real risk of burning anything that got close to him.
