THE SETTING
The land of Rhoutum was once a flourishing place, after civilisation fell in the early era humanity found a way to move on. Water was limited, but humanity (or what was left of it) managed to find the remains of a melted glacier in the form of a lake. It sat at the foot of a large mountain, every summer season the snow and ice would melt and travel down to feed human kind. The rest of the world was a vast desert, filled with vile creatures that would kill anything that crossed its path. The lake expanded into a small river, which ran downhill into the desert and allowed humanity to expand with demand. The cities further out were more prone to attacks, but over time plants grew back and offered them protection along the riverbed.
Our story starts over 50 years ago, between two kings. There were to kingdoms, the north where the lake lay ruled by King Arathund. They were rich in resources, trade and more. Then there was the southern kingdom, they lay across the river deep into the desert ruled by King Thellone. They were poor, limited in resources and sustained attacks from the wilds. The Lakeians tried their best to provide for the River Tribes, but their king grew mad with greed. After an argument between the two kings about resources, King Arathund declared war against the River Tribes. The Riverians were far too weak and resourceless to fight back, so instead surrendered. This turned King Thellone to a life of being cruel and bitter, as his subjects suffered. The Riverian people were no longer allowed to enter the Lake Kingdom, nor trade with its people. They were left to die.
THE PLOT
The River Kingdom is split into 8 tribes, each ran by a chosen chief who answer to King Thellone. King Thellone lives in the capital of The River Kingdom, called Cassari. In the present, King Arathund has died within the past few months and his son Arinholm has taken over. King Thellone is still a bitter old man, and he wants revenge. King Thellone called upon all 8 river tribes to send forth a team of their best warriors. They have been summoned to the Riverian Capital, Cassasri. Each team will battle each other in different tasks until one comes out victorious. There will be three trials ran by King Thelleone, all to the death. Losers will either die in the trial, or be banished to the wastelands if they fail. The winning team will not only win glory for their tribe, but will be sent on a deadly mission. The mission being to infiltrate The Lake Kingdom, get insider intel and cause enough havoc so that the Riverian people can attack while they are off guard.
The group for this role-play represent the Bluewyrm tribe, they are the tribe that geologically are the furthest south along the river. Their people are few and starving, water is scarce in the summer months. They are prone to attacks from the beasts of the wasteland, but they are strong. They are the tribe that is the most underestimated for the trial to come. The group is made up of those her volunteered when the announcement came, with the exception of the youthful (read roles for more info). They are prepared to die for their tribe and kingdom and have their set roles.

The leader is one of the eldest of the group. They are skilled in combat, communication and quite smart. They are the one to keep team morale up, be empathic, come up with the plans and make sacrifices if needed. Well respected among the group and often considered the rock grounding them all. (optional, could have been very good friends with the second before)

They help alongside the leader. They bring a new perspective to situations, help with team communication and executing plans. They often are the one cleaning up the messes the group leaves behind. A good fighter, respected and one of the older ones of the team. (optional, could have been very good friends with the leader before)
the medic

They are skilled in all forms of healing, well versed with plant life and the human body. They can fight, but not as skilled as the others. Good eye for detail, extremely intelligent. Often carries poisons and knives, can make stealthy assassinations.
the animal whisperer

Extremely empathic towards animals, take care of the groups horses during travel. They are the group hunter and cook, often very spiritual and respectful when it comes to death. Can sometimes tame or calm wild animals, good knowledge of the beasts of the wasteland. Commonly has a bow.
the lookout
taken (1/1)
Quiet and intelligent, they are the one to move ahead of the group to assess new situations. They will take note on the landscapes or room as well as a head count of enemies. They also act as a spy, gaining intel from the inside. Good actor, seductive and a flirt when needed. Ranged weapons or daggers.
the grunt

The brawn of the group, the two are strong and built for combat. Commonly wear heavier or stronger armour, swords or maces as weapons. Not as smart and quick as others but can take and deal a lot of damage. Often the ones in the front lines of battle, fiercely courageous and the backbones of the group.
the youthful
taken (1/1)
Youngest of the group, not officially invited. Brave and loyal, adopted child of the Bluewyrm chief. Looking to find their honour and warrior spirit by making their adoptive father proud. Most likely to get into trouble or hurt, but group protects them the most. Brings a lot of morale and happiness to group.

There are going to be some dark themes + violence.
One character per person for the moment, reserve your preferred role here and I'll mark it as claimed.
There are 8 slots available, but may open up for more if demand is shown!
Plotting / OOC will be in discord!
There are some plot twists that I won't be revealing until later in the plot for everyones enjoyment.
Some roles may have special backstories that feed into the plot later on (only if you're down with it).
