Name: Riley Dill

Online name (may become your hero name): Shifter

Gender: Female

Age: 14

Location: Sarnia, Ontario

Power: Riley can shift atoms out of/into molecules, and absorb the energy. For example, she can turn CO2 into graphite and oxygen. If she does this enough, then she'll gain the energy to make CO2 into something like diamond (and oxygen). She can also do more exact things, like take hydrogen out of concrete (which is calcium-silica-hydrate) and turn it into white powder, then return the hydrogen and harden it.

Because she absorbs the energy, there's no explosion from these reactions. She's still learning what she can do with the energy. She thinks she can give it to people or objects that she's touching, with a little more practice

Riley can also summon all of a certain molecule or element in the area for a specific reaction she wants to do.

What could go wrong if character messes up with power: If Riley removes the wrong atom from the wrong molecule, she could accidentally make something deadly.

If she absorbs too much energy, she could die.

Tools required to use the power (if any): Knowledge. Riley needs to know the formula and shape of every type of molecule she takes apart.

Purpose/motivation: Her plans are still vague, but she wants to do good. She's considering doing something about global warming, by turning the carbon in CO2 and methane into graphite. She's also considering raising money for charities by making and selling rubies, diamonds and other gems.

Backstory: Riley's mother died of cancer when she was twelve. Her last words to Riley were to look in the second drawer of the living room desk. Riley couldn't bring herself to do it right after the death.

Dad wasn't the same once mom died. He didn't pay any attention to Riley, and bordered on neglecting her.

The summer after grade eight, Riley finally built up the courage to open the drawer. There was a vial of glowing blue liquid, with a note under it. It read: Drink it. Then separate CO2. Confused, Riley drank it. The next day, she felt odd. Still confused about the note, she opened her mouth and tried to focus on the CO2 she was breathing out. Eventually, a piece of graphite formed between her teeth, and she felt a surge of energy.

Riley spent the rest of that summer memorizing molecular formulas and structures, and practicing her power.

Personality: Riley is intelligent and very socially awkward. She genuinely wants to do some good, but is worried that it's more for her own sake than that of the people she's helping. She's brave, but only a little.

Appearance (low-priority, only needs a short description, can be more if you want):

Name

David Smith

Online name

Quick_Pace

Gender

Male

Age

19

Location

Houston, Texas

Power

Speed, and I'm not talking about Vin Diesel. David is the fastest man alive and has the foot work to prove it. Need to catch a bus? Gotcha. Need to get to work? Gotcha. Need to be pulled away from a car about to hit you? Gotcha. Need me to stop a bullet from blowing you away? Easy. Able to run on water, but don't call me Jesus. *Wink* Other than being able to run unfathomable speeds he is able to literally throw bolts of lightning if he winds up long enough, able to heal fairly fast, and the ability to phase through certain materials (the less dense the easier).

What could go wrong if character messes up with power

Can cause some real damage when going half speed, even more when running at full sprint.

Tools required to use the power

Tools are for plumbers

Purpose/Motivation

David's life is all that he is assured of. Since he dropped out of college all he does is stay in his apartment eating Top Ramen, sleeping, or going out, and kickin ass. Living his life is all David wants to do, so if it means he has to kick the shit out of a drug dealer to pay the bills or put the hurt to a couple muggers to buy some dog food, who cares? It's not like anyone is fast enough to stop him let alone catch him.

Backstory

David lived a fairly normal life, he grew up in a rural town in Tennessee. He went to school, made some alright grades. Eventually he decided to go to college and major in chemical engineering, big money. Through out his college career it got harder and harder to do any work, and finally he just snapped under the pressure and dropped out. One day, not long after dropping out, while hanging out with one of his friends from college he accidentally drank a strange liquid his friend had set aside in a glass jar. Instantly he realized his mistake and panicked, instead of telling his friend the accident he made up an excuse and left. Through out the night David would fade in and out of life, eventually he did wake up and with the power of super speed. It wasn't an easy transition but it all oddly felt natural to him. This was was almost six months ago, he's gained quite the name for himself in that time.

Personality

David is a very social and outgoing person but tends to get overly confident when faced with an easy task. Though he doesn't seem like it with his devilish attitude David is willing to do what needs to be done for the greater good, even willing to put himself in danger.

Appearance

6'0, 180lbs, Shaggy Light Brown Hair, Brown Eyes, Lean

Name: Greyson (or Grey) Moir

Online name (may become your hero name): SpoopyGhost12

Gender: male

Age: 16

Location: Ashland, Oregon

Power: Greyson can blur out of reality. Depending on how blurred he is, he looses some of the ability to push and pull objects as well as their affect on him. He can sometimes extend this property to other small objects quite close to him (he can't blur other people... Yet). (Yes I realize this is somewhat similar to jole' character's abilities but I plan to take it in a different direction)

What could go wrong if character messes up with power: He can often loose control of his state through nerves, causing him to be unable to interact with anything physically. He can occasionally become stuck in such a state for hours or even days resulting in collateral depressive bouts.

Tools required to use the power (if any): calm and self-confidence

Purpose/motivation(what they plan to do with it, if they have a plan): He doesn't really have any plans for the future. He expects his life to amount to him ceasing to exist.

Backstory (including how long they've had the power): Grey was born to an alcoholic mother, no father in sight. During his mother's pregnancy, she, being the 'loving' mother that she was, decided to abstain from her usual hoppy beverage in favor of a higher-brow concoction she found on the Internet. It was advertised as an alcohol substitute for sobering up. When it was delivered, she was rather off put by its appearance of amped up Gatorade, but took a swig just to sate her craving. The brew tasted like some shitty frat-Guy's beer, but it would have to do. Nine months of Powerade resulted in a scrawny little thing no more than five and a half pounds, but no fetal alcohol syndrome.

Fifteen years later, Grey's mother is rarely at home, but out getting drunk and sleeping in alleys. Grey received the abilities of the serum instead of his mother.

Personality: shy and self conscious, tends to be more of a listener than a talker

Appearance (low priority - only a little description needed, but you can do more if you want):

5'6, thin, ash blond hair with doe brown eyes and freckles, pale

Name: Jane Williams

Online name (may become your hero name): Biohazard.

Gender: F

Age: 23

Location: Washington, DC.

Power: She can manipulate her own genetic makeup, absorb genetic informations from a DNA sample and change her body on the fly, although the most visible changes are kinda painful for her. She can absorb genetic material by either ingesting it (Yeah, I know it sounds gross) or by planting it in her bloodstream. The changes she can perform on her body can go from simple things like changing hair or eye color to growing scales, poisonous fangs and tentacles on her back, just to make an example.

What could go wrong if character messes up with power: She can turn into a mindless blob of flesh if she's not careful about what she changes or, worse, she can turn into a murderous monster more akin to a virus than a human called Eve.

Tools required to use the power (if any): A deep breath and something to wash her mouth after she "absorbed" the genetic material.

Purpose/motivation(what they plan to do with it, if they have a plan): None at the moment, but she's seriously considering the "masked hero" career if spandex suits become suddently fashionable.

Backstory (including how long they've had the power): Born and raised in the Capitol, Jane lost her mother, a rather mysterious woman that worked in a pharmaceutical lab before becoming a biology teacher, and her sister to a car accident when she was just 10. Her father, a police detective from DC, managed to rise her just fine even if he had to struggle with mild depression and a job that left Jane mostly alone.

However Jane always supported her father, and even tried to follow his footsteps in the police but was rejected due to a faulty retina that gave her bad sight, she then did a retina transplant in order to solve the problem but due to a rather sinister twist of fate she ended up with retinas coming from her dead sister's preserved body.

From that point her life took a turn for the weird when she started to develop her powers, which manifested for the first time when she grew feathers from the turkey she ate for dinner. She managed to learn how to control her powers and even join the police, but lately she had scary nightmares about a monstrous woman that called herself Eve, saying she was Jane's next step in evolution, and the dawn of a new era for life on earth. What the future hold for Jane she doesn't know, but she have the ominous feeling that those dreams are actually warnings for an evil that is growing inside her and struggling to take control.

Personality: She's an optimistic and energetic young woman, always ready to help those in need for an help. She can be rather naive and hotblooded, if not even stubborn, which put her at odds with the more cynical vets in her department. She's a smoker and annoy her to no end when people say something about her habit.
