The day was January 31st, 2017. The time, approximately ten in the morning. The setting? Good old New York City, tourist trap and famous setting for underdog-becomes-superstar movies.

Like always, the International Grim Reaper Association (IGRA) headquarters, located in Downtown Flushing, Queens, was bustling with new recruits testing to get themselves registered, tutors holding up signs that stated their names, the lower-ranks gossiping about the higher ranks again, and of course, the scent of the coffee being sold at the Starbucks inside, most likely by civilians or trainees trying to get extra credit. The receptionists were answering calls, and the many questions and complaints that went with the calls.

It never used to be this lively, thought cynical A-Class Reaper (and the person most students hoped they wouldn't be stuck with), thought, taking a swig from her flask. Ah, last night's red wine, she almost forgot that she had packed it. Now that January 31st was here, she was going to end up teaching a bunch of punks who seriously thought that they would make it if they just walked around willy-nilly, swinging their scythes around like idiots. Her immediate image of these kids were a bunch of cross-eyed bozos who picked their noses and rubbed it on the hems of their cloaks--and seriously thought that they would make it in this world. She observed the many groups of people congregated; airheads in skimpy outfits squealing about their new puppies or something, brawny knuckleheads either brooding or starting some sort of brawl or argument. Couples making out. Children running around holding wooden scythes, shy and quiet people avoiding everyone else as they highlighted names in their Little Black Books...

....And her. Lily Underworld, terrifying future head of the Underworld family. Rumors about her being a former gang member had spread, along with rumors about how she got the tattoo on her back. Any idiot would know that it was the symbol that said that she would inherit the wealth. She leaned on the sign with her students' names on it, feeling stupid with the nametag on her dress.

Hello, my name is: Phil McPhil. Nice to meet you motherfuckers.

A tall woman with dark skin and wavy black hair opened the door to the IGRA headquarters. Many people looked at her with wide eyes. That as to be expected- after all, this violet-eyed woman, with a scythe in one hand and a Little Black Book in the other, was Chrysanthemum Underworld... the younger twin sister of the powerful future head of the Underworld family. Many people viewed Chrissa as lazy and weak- primarily because she never made much of an effort going up to Class A. Chrissa had to agree- the stress was a bit too much for her, and she was too weak-hearted anyways. Chrissa sighed as she put a nametag on her dress. She had to wake up extremely early to go to Manhattan. There, she had changed into comfortable clothing (a black tank top and short jeans) and roamed around. About a half hour later, she reaped the soul of a man who had died of a heart attack. The old man was rather happy actually- he spoke to her about how he had no regrets, and how he was glad that Chrissa would be taking him to Heaven. Two hours later, Chrissa reaped the soul of another elderly old woman, who gave Chrissa her entire life story and ended it with the fact that she had one small regret- she never gave her granddaughter some necklace. Chrissa herself asked where it was and offered to give it before "taking her to Heaven", and managed to sneak the necklace to the granddaughter anonymously with a note. That last soul was a tedious one, Chrissa had to say, especially when she was running on a mere two hours of sleep and a shit ton of coffee. It was nice, though, letting the soul rest with no regrets.

Now Chrissa was in the IGRA headquarters, extremely sleep deprived, and walking over to a sign next to the one her sister stood in front of. Lily Underworld, an amazing Class A reaper, the heir to her father's fortunes, and a heavy drinker. Rumours were going around that she used to be in a gang, and while Chrissa denied this, she also had a feeling that Lily being a gang member was a very likely thing. Lily was drinking wine or beer or something from a flask... she used to not drink at all... Ah, but those days were in the past. Chrissa was pretty sure that her sister didn't drink enough to get liver disease or something like that... or at least that was what the girl liked to believe. Chrissa looked around. Why was she here...? Oh... because it was the 31st of January, which meant she had to teach little brats. The young woman looked at all the people around her. There were many new recruits here... It would be lucky if even half of them managed to finish training. Chrissa looked over at her twin sister, pulling a smile on to her face.
"Hey," she said.
Because you know, greeting your sister is a nice thing to do.

Dantalion shyed away from the large groups of people, starting to feel extremely self conscious about wearing her usual dress while everyone else was in rather casual clothing. Looking around the room she brightened at the familiar faces of Lily and Chrissa and started to head towards the two. As she got closer, she could see Lily was clearly drunk and gave a rather deep sigh opting to go closer to Chrissa. As she reached the two she opened her mouth to begin her treating before being shoves rather roughly to the ground by a passing figure (most likely a Class B reaper, she thought. They always seem to have a bit of an attitude) Sighing again Tali quickly looked herself over to make sure no serious damage was done to her tights or the skirt of her dress, only to find a rather large run in her tights. Quickly covering the run with her dress, she looked around to see if anyone noticed before getting up and walking rather quickly behind the twins. Without a word she ripped the skirt of her dress and tied the scrap around the run, hoping she looked decent.

"I'd say hello but it seems that would be a formality rather than a greating at this point." She said to the two girls, slowly coming out from behind them.

Lily snapped out of her reverie when she spotted Chrysanthemum, her younger twin sister, walking towards her; ah, Chryss....the girl was so lucky, not having to deal with all of the family drama Lily had to; she didn't express her envy, of course, instead nodding to Chryss when she greeted her. Well, at least she wasn't playing the "you're-future-head-so-you-get-all-the-credit-ok-thanks-bye" game. Lily hated it...partially because she wasn't very good when it came to parties (in fact, she usually found the nearest servant and hung out with them). Or family meetings (her dad did all the talking anyways). Or basically any event that she, as future head, had to be dragged to.

I wonder what it's like living such a carefree life. Lily stared over at Chryss; she even got to dress more casually. She didn't normally say much, but she nodded at her twin to acknowledge her. "Good morning," she answered stiffly. Dammit, when were those trainees going to get here? Were they taking a piss or what? She was about to comment on that, but of course, almost on cue, Talion, a member of one of the four Reaping families and therefore a distant relative, greeted them. As per usual, she was a bit blunt, but that was to be expected from that cutie

"Morning, Talion," Lily said in her usual deadpan tone, taking a small sip from her flask (can't get drunk so early when nighttime was party hour). "You were assigned one of us as mentor? What are the odds." She put her flask away, placing a hand on her hip. "I'm prepared to see what you can do. Don't disappoint me, okay?"

Opening the doors to the IGRA, a woman stepped in with her metallic heels clashing with the floor each step she took, almost as if she wanted to be heard. Long flowing midnight hair, porcelain skin, unusual clothing of fur with lace, and a smile that kills; that's all she needed to begin her games. However, tonight she has convinced herself to play nice with the others and the scent of coffee distracted her more than anything. Walking over she made her way to the counter ordering something cold, and thick. The trainees began to whisper as she ordered, confused why Viktoria was there in the first place. It's not like she wasn't allowed to show up after all, and she enjoyed watching the 'lack of' reapers try to pass different tests. It was that time of the year to pick and choose which prey to pluck off first. Not that she would kill any 'purposely' but only to give a lending hand. That's right, she wanted to help people find their first soul, watching their reaction reaping their first. It was an odd enjoyment, but it suited her just fine.
Once she received her coffee, she walked off from the counter and took a seat towards the wall where there were no signs. She took a look around to see which mentor has showed up so far, though she could feel some stare at her. It didn't bother her and she found how entertaining it was that some were scared of her. Or they just hated her. Taking small, delighted sips from her drink, she watched as new members sat down with their new mentors and watched their reactions. I could surely give them a real test if they wanted one, she thought. Viktoria sighed and continued sipping on her coffee hoping that one person would be foolish enough to step up to her.

Chrissa almost let a wistful look cover her face. Almost. Lily and her used to be a bit closer... Ah, but Lily would always be distant from her. She was better, after all. Chrissa turned to look as Detalion came, with her beautiful, long white hair and gorgeous yellow eyes and... AUGH SHE WAS SO PRETTY!!!! Chrissa gave her close friend a smile. Tali was a part of the Martin family, another Reaping family. That made Tali a distant relative... Though Chrissa always saw more as a close friend. The Reaping families were pretty close to each other. Shouldn't Jasper be here? Chrissa looked around for the young man, but couldn't really see anyone she recognized in the crowds of people. "Morning, Talion," Lily said. She took a sip from her flask... Augh, did she ever stop drinking!? "You were assigned one of us as mentor? What are the odds." Her voice was deadpan, like always. "I'm prepared to see what you can do. Don't disappoint me, okay?" "Same for me, Tali," Chrissa added. "By the way, where is everyone? It's ten in the morning, and only one person's here."

Just then, a woman with porcelain white skin and long black hair came in. Loud banter become hushed whispers. Chrissa's face remained in a pleasant smile. She recognized this woman- she was that sociopathic person who wasn't allowed to climb any further from C. What was her name? Victoria or something? The woman was sipping on her coffee. "Hey Viktoria," Chrissa said in a friendly manner, waving a bit. Well, it wasn't really normal to just stare at a woman drinking her coffee peacefully.

Loretta wasn't nervous when she entered IGRA headquarters. Even if she did feel a bit anxious, Lora would refuse to admit it anyway. She quickly walked to the line for a new cup of coffee (Lora refused to drink the dirt they called sweet tea). As she was retrieving her drink, she noticed a pale woman that was getting odd looks from those around her. That seemed a bit off to her, but Lora didn't recognize who the woman was. That may have been due to her little... sojourn away from her job. Loretta let herself fall into these thoughts for a moment before shaking her head and looking forward. She was here to get back to training so she could become a full blown reaper. All that she needed for that was a mentor.
That brought Lora back to the reason she even bothered to go to the gathering was due to her not being able to resist the idea of talking to all those dead people again. Besides, it wouldn't be right for a non-reaper to have a little black book.
With these thoughts in mind, Loretta looked around the room for where she was supposed to be. Her gaze landed on one of the few faces she could recognize; Lily Underworld. While Lora didn't care for dealing with many of the other reapers, it would have been stupid for her to not recognize the heir of one of the four great reaper families.
Miss Underworld stood next to what Lora presumed to be her twin sister, the one who was named after a flower. Loretta had no clue who the other woman was, though this didn't bother her in the slightest. The young soul guider knew where she needed to be.
Lora swiftly moved to the wall that they were resting on, moving past the pale woman from earlier. Loretta took a quite breath before analyzing the higher class reapers once more, just to double check their identities. After a reassuring pat on her old mentor's little black book, Lora stood in front of the people who may become her new teacher.
"Hello Miss Underworld, Miss Underworld, and I'm sorry, but I don't know your name. I'm Loretta Velma, a reaper trainee," Lora's eyes filled with steel before proceeding, "I was told that I was supposed to meet my new mentor here. Would one of you point me to who I'm supposed to meet or please accept me as your student?"

Damien ran forward, pushing higher ranked Reapers around him without giving a single care. He kept his wide grin, an insane, monstrous, demon like freak, who did whatever he wanted without a care in the world. He jumped onto the head of a C class Reaper, pushing himself forward as he spun through the air, slamming his feet onto the large pair of wooden doors of the HQ as they were forced open, his body flying back.

He dropped to the ground, bursting forward with a blast of speed as he spun in, everybody turning to him s he jumped back up, standing on one of the many standing tables in the room. He placed his foot on top of a cupcake platter, taking in a deep breath as he let out his booming, insane, and powerful voice.

"Hey!" He yelled, "Your God has arrived! You can-" Before he could even finish, he was forced down from the table, a large man grabbing his collar as he lifted him off his feet effortlessly, anger obviously in his eyes. "Damn you kid . . . I remember you, you're that dick who punched me in the throat last week!"

"Eh?!" Damien yelled, grabbing his fist in rage and biting it. The man let him go, screaming and cursing as Damien fell to the ground, bursting back up with a head butt to the mans chin. "I can't hear your god damned bickering!" He was suddenly grabbed by the leg, being thrown into the table. He groaned slightly as the man walked back forward, grabbing his hair and lifting him up.

"Fuck you . . ." Damien muttered as he spat in his face. The man set on a large grin, "I'm going to enjoy beating the shit out of you."

Chrysanthemum's author was typing on the phone, so shit couldn't look fancy. The young woman watched quietly as another young woman came and I traduced herself, asking if one of them would train her. She looked at Lily with a shrug. "If you don't want her, I'll take her," Chrissa said. Her laid her eyes on a certain boy who was pushing higher ranking Reapers away. He was most definitely a feisty one. She watched him mess around with another man... until she saw that the other man was about to beat the shit out of the boy. Chrissa sighed and rushed over to the two.
"Hey, you two," she said sternly, violet eyes narrowed into an icy glare. Hey, she could be mean, too. "Chill." She looked at the angry man. "A man who can hardly control his emotions can't be a decent reaper." She looked at the boy. "And quit yapping. You can yell about being God somewhere else."

Jasper Arlen Spears & Genevieve Riverwoods

Jasper calmly walked through the main entrance of IGRA, his hair already a mess of brunette on his head; his attempts to tame it had failed this morning, much to his annoyance... Honestly, did it
have to cause so many problems? He was a Spears (well, sort of, anyway, as it was just his mother's maiden name... Which he had chosen to take instead of his own), after all... Such an obvious thing easily ruined his whole appearance! Such an annoying thing, that was... But, nonetheless, Jasper didn't see any point in getting worked up over it, not at the moment, at least. He wouldn't have to attend anything important today (not that he usually did, being C-Class), anyway.

No, instead, he was more focused on the situation at hand, his green eyes already surveying the area to see who had arrived... There were already so many Reapers here, most of them trainees looking for their mentors, much like his sister should be doing, instead of staring around like a giant puppy. He thought the last part rather pointedly, glancing at the nineteen-year-old behind him. The fact that the trainees were searching for their mentors was... Decent, at least, as that meant he hopefully wouldn't have to interact with many people. That was always good... People were so troublesome to deal with, after all. Especially when they find out that he's a part of a great Reaping family... The younger ones always seemed especially star-struck by that, though Jasper himself was still only C-Class. He sighed a bit at the thought of his rank, as annoyed with the fact he had yet to progress as ever. But, of course, he quickly shoved the annoyance away, instead opting to pin his small name tag to the front of his vest, adjusting it until it was perfectly straight. He smiled a bit at the name on it, chuckling softly... 'Jasper A. Spears'. He still loved the sound of that, despite the fact he had been using his mother's maiden name for eleven years by now. Seeing it made his annoyance disappearing almost instantly, despite how simple it may seem.

The twenty-three-year-old only studied it for a moment, though, before he once again glanced at his younger sister, who was currently beside him and staring around like an excitable puppy.
"Welcome to IGRA, little sister," he chuckled a bit, offering her a smile before glancing around once again.

While Jasper acted as if this was completely ordinary as they entered, Genevieve was... Not as calm, her eyes wide and full of wonder as she looked around. Had she not been in a heavy, Victorian-style dress, she would have literally been jumping up and down excitedly and squealing her head off... Something she was managing to restrain herself from doing. "THIS IS AWESOME!" The nineteen-year-old exclaimed quietly, tapping her older brother's arm once before she noticed the name tags. "Oh, right-- We need those, don't we?" She blinked a bit, quickly pinning one to the front of her dress. 'Genevieve Riverwoods'... As expected, it was just her name, simple.

"Yes, we do. Good observation," Jasper momentarily refocused on Genevieve again, nudging his sister playfully and chuckling once again, before going back to looking around... And finally spotting Lily, Chrissa, and Tali a little bit away, three distant relatives of the two siblings. "Hey, look, Chrissa and Lily are already here... Looks like Lily's a mentor, too," He gently started pulling Jenna towards them, as she hadn't seemed to hear him. She didn't put up a fight at all, and soon enough, he stood in front of the three others, smiling faintly. "Hello! Nice to see you three again," he said pleasantly, getting the words out just before Chrissa walked away... Jasper didn't exactly mind, while Genevieve hadn't seemed to notice the others yet.

She was, after all, focusing on what seemed to be quickly developing into a full-blown fight... Something Jasper had overlooked, though it seemed to be quite the show. Looking for her mentor hadn't even crossed Genevieve's mind yet.

Hearing her name, she looked over to see who it was greeting her so unusually. "Ah..." she nearly sighed. If it wasn't for the notorious twins, the Underworlds. Every time she looked at one of them, a nerve struck, as if it was reaching out with intent. It wasn't uncommon for them to be swamped with eager trainees, Viktoria was almost jealous of their well known name. But it was not Chrysanthemum she had her eye on, but Lily. Now, it did not matter, not tonight. Viktoria returned a small wave but said nothing. She looked away and continued sipping her frozen coffee.
Moments passed with the same scene of people passing back and forth. Viktoria was starting to forget why she came in the first place. Maybe for the coffee. Before long a young boy came rushing through, babbling about some god. Now this was entertaining, and she saw a weak individual for the taking. Getting up from the chair, she walked over to where Chrysanthemum and the other two stood. Placing her hand on the man; "Yeah, chill. Or would I have to do that for you?"
The man sputtered at the sight of Viktoria, and without saying a word he left in rush. She looked over to the Underworld twin and grinned then looked at the boy appearing interested.

The taller, stronger, higher ranked man gritted his teeth, glaring at Damien. He pulled him forward, "You are so damn lucky she saved your ass." He let go of his hair, dropping Damien to the ground. Though . . . That was a horrible, horrible, horrible choice, as Damien immediately lifted his leg, slamming his foot forward in a dangerous kick.

The man shot back, crashing to the wall as Damien lowered his foot. To most people, he was one of the weakest Shinigami in the buisness. But Combat wise? He was insane in power. He gritted his teeth, "Touch me again you over-weight penguin, and I will rip off your fucking balls and choke you with your tendons!"

He stood straight up, now the entire room seemed to be centered around him as everyone watched. He lifted his hand, his fingers forming into a number one. "Listen here you worthless maggots!" He yelled, "You all look at me . . . Like I'm some kind of freak . . . weak am I? Ha!" His grin spread across his face as his fingers fell to himself, his thumb pressed against his heart. "Just you all remember . . . I am the one who will transcend the Gods."

"Oh shut up!" Someone yelled, throwing a hard object at his head, falling to the feet of the twin. He stood up, groaning. "Fucking hell that hurt!" He yelled, his eyes leading upwards to the twin of the heir, as he blinked. "Oh hey . . . I remember you, my Grandpa talked about you a lot."

The twin's heir looked at Viktoria with an appreciative smile, thankful that she helped her. Then what happened next... wasn't so nice. Chrissa sighed when the boy kicked the man away. Some kids really needed help calming down- you know, like a hammer to the face or something. But when the boy went on about how he was going to become the best, like no one ever wa- ah.. er... how he was going to transcend the Gods or something, Chrissa could feel an amused smile form on her lips. This kid... he was something. Amusing, and very promising. And then he fell. Chrissa looked down at the boy. He had spiky aqua hair and black eyes... and he said: "Oh hey . . . I remember you, my Grandpa talked about you a lot." Chrissa raised an eyebrow. Transcend the Gods, eh? Chrissa smiled in her usual warm and friendly manner. "Ah... are you sure your Grandpa was talking about me?" she asked. "He was probably actually talking about Lily." It was a common thing for starstruck reapers to confuse her for Lily. She had to correct them and say that Lily Underworld was the confident woman with dark blue eyes, not the lazy weakling with violet eyes. It was an endless reminder that Chrissa wasn't Lily, would never get close to Lily, and would never be nearly as good or as liked as Lily. She'd be remembered as "The Sister of Lily Underworld", not "Chrysanthemum Underworld". The girl continued to smile, though she never held out a helping hand. People like this kid would definitely not want one.

Tali smiled and nodded to the twins.

"Don't worry." She said, the monotone of her voice sounding relaxed and focused. "I won't cause any trouble, I'm mostly here to rank up. And find out a bit more about anti-reapers. They are quite fascinating don't you think?" The sudden loud noises of the headquarters made her jump in surprise, with a young man proclaiming he would surpass God (though that's highly illogical, as to surpass a god you would have to be a god yourself). The appearance of Jasper and his younger sister however brought her focus away from the rambunctious new reaper. She regarded their presence with a quite nod and a small smile, before her attention was once again focused on the blue haired boy.

"He's going to be quite the handful isn't he? I feel sorry for his mentor as they would probably need quite a bit of patients." She said, not quite directing it to one specific person.

Aaaand soon enough there was a small crowd surrounding Lily, who was internally contemplating stabbing someone as some kid ran around screaming about being equal to the gods. She hoped he knew how to protect himself against Hades's wrath, because she sure thought that sounded ridiculous. However, luckily, there was Tali, and soon Jasper and Jenna, Jenna being busy watching a slowly rising conflict. Lily was fairly close to Jasper, seeing as they were the same age and therefore pretty much grew up together, and a little close to Jenna, but definitely not as much as Jasper. Had they not been in a professional setting she would have likely tackle-hugged him, but for now she could crack one of her rare smiles at him.

Yet another trainee approached Lily, this one having a very heavy Southern accent. She introduced herself as "Loretta Velma" to the tall woman, who blinked, looking her over. Of course a trainee with common Reaper knowledge would want Lily to mentor them. All due to her title. She paused, thinking about it, then nodded.
"All right, I guess I can squeeze a few students in. Fair warning, though. I expect a good worth ethic and if they don't have it....I'll teach it to them." She awkwardly clamped Loretta's shoulder. "Welcome to Class Lou." With that, she turned to Tali, sweatdropping at her statements. "Anti-Reapers? As long as they're not illegal ones. And that kid? I dunno....I see something in him." She shrugged, taking another sip of wine.

Damien jumped back up, his back arching as his feet planted onto the ground, lifting himself up. He dusted himself off, blowing a strand of blue hair out of his eyes as she glanced into hers. He shook his head, "No . . . He talked about you. The one with the Violet eyes." He shrugged, placing his hands behind his head in a chill and laid back manor.

"So . . . You're Chrys huh?" He spoke, giving her a nick-name, regardless of if she had one already. He walked around her, checking out her body and specs. "Hmm .. . " He muttered, stopping in front of her. "Yeah, Violet and Blue . . . Definitely different."

Damien slapped himself with both hands, jumping up and down to gain energy, pick up his adrenaline with a grin on his face. "So! What the hell am I even here for?"

Chrissa was mildly surprised that this kid's grandfather cared to mention her... well, she was an Underworld. Not mentioning the other Underworld was a dick move. She watched the boy in his strange movements (and didn't say anything at all when he just called her Chrys... though it sounded like a name for some guy, and so it was sort of odd hearing herself referred by that name...), and took the opportunity to look back at the crowd that had gathered around her sister. There was Jasper, who Chrissa grinned and waved at, and his little sister... there was Tali... and there was a new reaper (trainee, she assumed) with long black (blue?) hair and a black cloak. She looked back at the kid, who was jumping up and down. He had said: "So! What the hell am I even here for?" Chrissa shrugged. "That's the question you'd have to answer yourself, buddy." she replied, before returning to her little sign. She kept an eye on the kid, though. He was interesting. "So who do you plan on taking?" Chrysanthemum asked Lily. She couldn't possibly take everyone- she still had her own responsibilities as an A rank. Chrissa also needed some apprentices, or else her stance as a B rank would barely have any meaning.

"Wait, mentor! Right, I'm supposed to be looking for my mentor, whoever they are... Mom finally agreed to allow me to start training, after all. It definitely took her long enough..." Genieve's attention had instantly leaped back to the small crowd that was forming around Lily at the word 'mentor', though she was instantly very, very annoyed with herself for letting that slip from mind until now. There was just so much to see in this place, though, so... Well, she couldn't exactly be blamed TOO much. She just wanted to see the area first, and, well, the kid who was making a scene provided a lot of amusement. Could a girl really be blamed for forgetting when something like that had started? Too bad it ended so quickly... It would have developed into a real show after a few minutes.

"Well, you know how Mom is, Jen... It took me two years to get her permission, and Uncle William had to get involved, too," Jasper shrugged before returning Lily's smile. He, too, would have probably hugged her if they were in a slightly different setting. He honestly probably would've done it now, actually, had Loretta been anywhere else... Everyone else's attention seemed to be on the blue-haired kid, anyway. But, of course, he had to keep up appearances; C-Class or not, he was still a Spears, and Lily was still an Underworld. An A-Class Underworld at that...

"Well, still. Three years is still quite ridiculous, especially since I'm nineteen..." She sighed a bit in response to Jasper, before her attention was drawn back to Damien. Did he honestly just say he would transcend the gods? That... Was suicidal, from what she knew of gods. With that in mind, Genevieve decided to add her two cents to the conversation. "You know, I'm quite sure he's going to get himself smited with that talk of surpassing gods."

"... Mostly likely," Jasper nodded, his attention then slipping over to Chrissa as she returned to the group. He gave her a little nod in greeting, offering a smile. He was more one for non-verbal communication, after all... Words were easy to misinterpret.

Dimitri Vasiliev

85d5caac42cdf5ee0a705da0f287bdf6.jpg

Dimitri was running late.

Oh yes, thought the young man sarcastically, looking at his watch hastily, nervousness sparking in his honey-coloured eyes. This'll be the perfect first impression on the mentors. Dimitri had started off his morning terribly. His alarm clock hadn't worked, and he had to skip breakfast. He was late for the subway train, and had to take a taxi, which was rare to find given the usual morning hustle. It was always the worst in the morning. Dimitri didn't think thoroughly enough on what he was going to put on for that day since he was rushing, so his appearance wasn't the best. His hair was tousled, blouse wrinkled and he had chosen the wrong jeans. Instead of sharp, blue ones, he had accidentally put on faded and torn ones. Dimitri couldn't care less; at least he had some normal pair of clothing. Dimitri glanced down for a moment, remembering the poverty he had seen and experienced as a child. Those kind of things never seemed to go away, but they always managed to bring the New York Dimitri down humbly and rise up Moscow-born Dimitri. And he was thankful for that.

The Russian finally made it to IGRA. He made his entrance as discreet as possible, which wasn't very necessary it seemed, since someone else had hooked everyone's attention. Dimitri saw glimpses of sky-blue hair and the talk of surpassing gods.
One God, thought Dimitri, remembering the Bible he had purchased over a year ago. The book had spoken of there being only one God. He didn't know what to think of it, but he had never really appreciated the way other Reapers, especially ones from rich Reaping families, spoke about there being other gods. He had heard about Hades, but there was certainly no respect coming from Dimitri. He had his own opinions, but wasn't about to voice them right here and now.

Dimitri scanned the crowd, immediately noticing who were in the Reaping families. He had heard about them, especially the twins. Dimitri tried not to judge them too harshly; after all, it isn't their fault that they were born in rich families and have all the privileges of the world. Dimitri was like them in many ways, but was twice as different. His childhood was marked by suffering and poverty, with few cherished moments of happiness. Theirs were filled with expectation no doubt, training and preparation for their inheritance. Well, at least it was for Lily Underworld. Dimitri was never sure about her twin, Chrissa Underworld. She always seemed the shadow, the inferior. Surprisingly, he could relate to her; he was always in the shadow of his bigger brother, who was stronger and smarter than him. In the early years, their relationship was strong. But as Vladimir started to take on more responsibilities, like helping Papa with the illegal; soul trade business, their relationship grew distant. Mama's death didn't help either.

At the thought of his mother, Dimitri tried to blink away tears. It was bitter enough that he was here, working ironically with the very people that could end Papa and Vlad's lives and business. He didn't need another reminder of his plagued past.

Dimitri caught sight of a beautiful girl with hair as black as night, looking over the loud mouth with spiky blue hair. She is beautiful, he thought decisively. But there's something strange about her...something almost dark. Dimitri wasn't surprised; death was indeed a dark business. He hated it, but what choice did he have? His father was right; he needed to act like a man, and that meant making firm decisions and sacrifice.

Dimitri caught the smell of coffee, but decided to go for vodka instead. He always kept a small bottle full. He wasn't severely alcoholic, but with the many stressful things he needed to stress over, he couldn't help but take a few shots.

Taking out his bottle, he stole a cup and began to pour, filling it halfway. Some trainees glanced over at him weirdly, some even whispering or giggling. "What?" he inquired a little too harshly, his voice layered in a Russian accent. "Nothing," answered the trainees in unison instantly. The Russian started to sip again and turned his back, rolling his eyes at the sound of giggles again.
Глупые стереотипы, thought Dimitri, gulping down some more. Stupid stereotypes.

(It's literally 2:00 AM here, so sorry if this sucks xD)

As Chrysthemum walked off shrugging at the boy, she shifted her stance and leaned in to the boy. "You look like you're going to need a little help, with the enemies you'll be making." Pulling a small piece of paper out of her rear pocket, she handed it calmly over to the boy. On the front it said, "Möge die Beute in der Zeit der Not vor dem Jäger geschützt sein", the words glistened in an odd blue hue and an unfamiliar symbol that of a wolf decorated the back. She gave a smirk and let the boy go, as she walked off back to the coffee counter.
Once she arrived, she threw out her earlier coffee cup and debated on getting another. The girls were giggling at something, but once Viktoria made her presence known the girl was startled and stopped giggling. The coffee girl asked if she wanted anything hesitantly. But instead of ordering, Viktoria shook her head. "No dear, I just wanted to stop by before I left and see if you wanted to keep giggling. It's surely annoying and I don't mind seeing you giggle over some spilt blood instead." She grinned widely. The girl screeched and begun to get overwhelmed in fear.
Looking over to the man near by, she recognized him from joining not too long ago. He surprisingly made a decent class C reaper. "Hello Dimitri, didn't expect to see you here..."

Dimitri was lost in his own troubled thoughts. He was worried for Vlad and Papa, for their business. Dimitri knew Vlad was still helping the poor, no matter what Papa was opposing. He was glad Vlad was doing it, even if it went against their father's selfish wishes. Dimitri knew he had to give his father a call, to warn him to be careful. The Reaping families knew of his past, and that was dangerous. And Dimitri knew it was his own fault. But the only thing he could do now was alert his brother and father as soon as possible.

And then, someone greeted him.

"Viktoria," greeted Dimitri solemnly to the curvaceous German. Dimitri had heard of her bloody past, and strangely enough, she made no effort to hide it. She seemed perfectly fine with everyone knowing of her backstory in Germany, even if it gave her a very unsettling reputation. She was a fellow C-Class like him, but twice as brutal. He hated the fact that she killed for fun. It was morally corrupt and disrespectful. If only she knew the devastating effects death had on others. But no, of course, she didn't. She was dysfunctional that way.

Dimitri glanced at the poor girl at the coffee counter, who looked absolutely shaken. He gave Viktoria a flinty stare. "You really shouldn't be picking on the young trainees like that. Your reputation is bad enough as it is," he countered, accent thick.

"I just listen to the voices in my head, what's so wrong about that?"

Damien raised an eyebrow as the female came to his side, handing him the strange card, with even stranger writing on it. He couldn't tell what it read, as he'd never seen hand-writing like it before. He raised an eyebrow at the women, but before he could even speak, she was gone. He blinked, sighing. "Man . . . I'm bored. Why did Gramps make me come here anyways?"

He turned away from the rest, going off to do his own thing, as he usually did. He wasn't an introvert, it was just that no one really COULD like him. He was just, really overconfident. No . . . He was confident, to him, there was no such thing as too much.

That's when he remembered Gramps words, "Damien, when you see the Twins . . . Tell Blue . . . That you're the disciple of Muama Tumaki. Cus you won't be seeing me for a while . . . "

Damien stopped walking, gritting his teeth as he spat on the ground, "Damned Geezer . . . I'm not saying shit. Useless old man."

Lily calmly listened in on Jasper and Jenna's conversation, and hardly said much, only to catch her eyes drifting towards the scene of the fight that had occurred. Viktoria had gotten involved—which broke up the fight—then she had handed her business card to the blue-haired kid. Chryss had snuck away. The future head of family glanced behind her at the group, then decided to abandon the crowd to approach the kid. She covered her face with the hood of her cloak so as to not to attract attention, a thing that she hated. Somehow she made it to the boy without any trouble; she looked down at him. He had spiky blue hair and black eyes, this visible tattoo on his arm, so he was a distinctive figure. Lily paused, thinking of what to say, then she just let it go.

"Hey, kid. You've got potential," she said calmly. "Bit of an attitude, but that's a good sign. We need more attitude in our Reapers."

"Huh?" Damien asked as the hooded figure came up to him. It was obvious she was a girl, from her voice to her body, but he couldn't see who she was. He shrugged it off however, as it didn't matter much, it's not like they'd really know him. No one did, except for Gramps, but that bastard ran off on him.

He smiled as she spoke of his potential, laughing loudly as he put both hands of his hips. "Potential? This is fact! I am the great Reaper Damien! And I'm gonna Surpass the Gods!" He'd said it so much, that by now it was his go to catch-phrase. And he believed it to, as long as he could get stronger, as long as he trained, no one would be able to beat him!

He sighed, "Man . . . You sound just like my Old man. Saying I had too much attitude." He spit onto the ground, "There is no such thing as too much!"

"Actually," Tali started as sheepishly as her voice would allow. "Unregistered ones are what I find fascinating. Their motives, how they received their abilities, it's all quite interesting to me... That probably sounds foolish of me, but what can I say? People as a whole interest me." At Chrissa's question on who Lily was going to take she spoke up again.

"I would be willing to go with either of you. I have never been one to complain when it comes to mentors." She said, starting to get used to the noise enough that she could block out everyone but the people directly around her. She took a deep breath and started to calm her nerves from the exposure to so many new things at once. There was a reason she generally didn't go do thinks like this but since it was required, she had no choice.

"Hopefully this will be over quickly. I probably have some names I need to check out and I doubt it will be as easy to rank up with yet another C Class violation on my hands..." She sighed and her hand reached for the hidden pocket in her skirt before remembering she left both her book and weapon at home since she thought this would be a short ordeal. She sighed yet again (today was just the perfect day for sighing wasn't it) and put her hands over her eyes. "This is why I'm still a C-rank."
