The Original Chef Kitten
Scenario:

Each contractor has received commission from the Syndicate to meet a group of people, whom are also contractors at an old abandoned playground located in the rural areas of central Tokyo. Instructions have been giving to the one assigned to lead the mission. The message cuts off there, however it seems like details were mean't to be added but were smeared off the paper.

Hitomi sat on a wooden bench, awaiting the Contractors she has been assigned. She despised her fellow Contractors, they always seemed to want to pick a fight. However in the end the Syndicate does want the job done properly, and without fail and error so she assumed these would be cooperative people.

In someways Hitomi's old excitable self was back, except now instead of being excited to hang out with a friend, she was excited to execute murder with her power. In some ways she felt it within her, that she wanted to use her contractor power, even if the price was rather gross. It was like a drug, an addiction...

"An abandoned playground? How painfully creative."

Akihiro sighed to himself but figured he didn't really have much of a choice. Outfitted in a black t-shirt, dark jeans, and black work boots he strolled down the alley ways. One after another, a never ending maze, it was calm out though.

"Putting a bunch of contractors together in one spot seems awfully daring. What in the world could they possibly need all of us for? More importantly I don't want to meet all of them. I'm perfectly content doing missions on my own. I can't imagine this will be a pleasant group of people. Well as my father always said, 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst.'"

Akihiro stumbled across the playground at last, tripping over the cement edging lining the meeting place. Shrugging his shoulders he moved slowly across the playground absorbing, inspecting, and sizing up his surroundings. Thus far it seemed to only be a singular girl. She was younger than him but not by much. He entered what he assumed was her field of sight was and gave her what seemed to be the ghost of a smile dancing on his lips.

"If anything, this will be an interesting evening indeed."

Asuna waited around the edge of the playground. She wasnt the only there but she wanted to be cautious. Her hand rested against the rough trunk of a tree as she leaned forward to study the girl sitting on a bench near her. Asuna noticed that the girl seemed tense or excited. Maybe both, but why? She shook her head and looked around the rest of the playground.

Kiba just arrived at the meet point but decided to learn against a tree and watch from a distance seeing that so far only two others have arrived and both looked relatively younger than him he also noticed another doing the same as him. With him already hating other contractors but what he hated more is the fact the really only other contractor he had meet was in fact his old boss so he didn't think so high of them.

Calling a group of contractors together however this pecked his interest he thought that maybe it will be a 'fun' mission none the less he knew it would be different.

Ritsu sighed as she remembered the message ' this gotta be good...' she sighed. She just got her voice back from a mission she did about a week ago and wasn't in the mood to do another one. ' I swear ever since I got into this organization I have been on nothing but mute' she sighed ' but why does that matter? I dont talk to anyone anymore...so why do I care about my voice?'

She looked forward and saw the playground come into view. " there is it.." she muttered as she got closed she saw two people already there. She just quietly walked in and sat down in one of the swings. She didn't say anything, she just looked around the play ground.

"Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, and spin!"

Seren turned, the wooden night moving with him, and spun as free as the world above, dancing within the falling moonlight.

It was odd, he often thought, how it was at times like these that he enjoyed himself the best. It was during this time that he always did his best thinking.

For starters, who was he? Was he Seren? Was he Angelo? Maybe he was both. He didn't know. For the most part, he didn't care.

A smooth gust went by, tickling his gentle sides. He loved the wind. He wondered if it loved him back. How he hoped it did! Out in the distance echoes could be heard, but as to what they were, he didn't know.

"Oh, I hope tonight is a lot of fun!" He ran around, airplaning his way across the sky. " I can already feel the beginning of something great start to begin!"

Asuna's eyes widened as a few more people entered the playground. She didnt think that even this many would actually come. She leaned against the tree and calmed her herself. She cant just stand here in the foliage like a scared child. Asuna actually had to move into the open.

When she was finally calm and collected enough, Asuna left her hiding spot by the tree and sat on a seperate bench, not letting anyone of the contractors out of her sight.

Hitomi honestly didn't know how to feel about everyone she had been assigned so far. There was that on boy who was airplaneing his way towards her, there was another man leaning against a tree, a boy slightly older who had a creepy smile on his lips, a clean girl who seemed to have her eyes set on Hitomi and a girl about her age who went to her school. She looked to the man leaning against the tree and an ominous smile filled her face and with a quick flick of her fingers she de-rooted the tree he leaned against. She slowly got off the bench and anxiously checked her surroundings, not a human soul out, good. She motioned everyone to join her and checked the tree to see if she accidentally killed that man. She quickly turned away, holding back her hair and vomited, however only a clear liquid slid out, she had not eaten anything for a day now.

Once her pale complexion faded back to normal she spoke up with a stuttering voice. "Everyone get over please, or do you just want to do this mission blind?" She said in a blunt tone wiping the gastric liquid off her face.

"Well on the bright side your price will keep you nice and lean, my dear."

With not another word or movement his face dropped to an emotionless state. Such a wide variety of personalities here. The young boy, the other females, and the other gentleman lingering about. It was going to be an interesting mission indeed. Should he introduce himself? Do they really care?

Probably not.

With that decision Hiro moved closer to the girl who had just thrown up. It seemed that she was the Alpha of their little group this evening, the hostess if you will.
His face expression was still blank but his mind was pulsing with excitement, nerves, and for some reason a hint of

aggression.

"What's a mission, and what's a blind?" Angelo smiled out loud. "Do those type of things taste good?"

He spun around, jumping across a puddle of putrid liquid, and then rested on a tree.

"Better yet, why are you people here? Did you know I was going to the park today? How'd you know it was my birthday? Joke's on you, it passed!"

The boy clutched his sides, laughing.

" Don't worry, I'm teasing. I have no idea when it is!"

Asuna's face scrunched up with disgust as the girl she noticed first vomited. She fought the urge to do the same as she tried to see if the boy was hurt at all. "Was that little show really needed?" She asked the girl. Asuna walked over, avoiding the small puddle of clear liquid.

"what the" before kiba fell he quickly drew his own blood and simultaneously ran over to the bench and within what would look like a flash of light where the one who just throw up was near he ended up running into the bench but acted like he was meant to do it vaulting over the bench hold off a face of pain "nice trick" he said returning her the ominous smile that she gave him.

Hitomi looked pale and unhealthily skinny, she could feel her bones creep against her skin. She looked to the boy slightly older than her with blank and hollow eyes. "I guess if your definition of lean is weak and boney, then I guess this price isn't so bad after all..." She said as the man sped up and she tilted her head, mildly impressed. "I guess I am not the only one with tricks up their sleeves. In the end I am glad I de-rooted such a lovely organism, I guess you all know what I am capable of, I know what one of you are aswell. Tis' good, maybe more than one of us will come out alive in this mission." She said nonchalantly, like she didn't even care about death.

Seren clutched his side, doing his best to take it all in.

" You people are hilarious! Who are you? Did you really come to meet me? But I don't know any of you... or maybe I do. This is my park, you know."

"That's my bench, thats my slide, and this, "he said pointing to his seat," is my tree. You can keep your puddle in the sand; I don't want it."

Ritsu watched the entire evet occur ' I wonder why she did that...' she shrugged ' not my problem anyway' she looked at the girl blankly as she threw up '....so that's her price huh...' she got of the swing and when over when the girl called everyone over to her. She was soo pale, I was almost sad to look at her. " so what the mission?" She asked getting straight to the point. She wanted to finish this quickly befkre a fight broke out.

"Alas, my lady, you doubt my abilities to stay alive? Though our lives are but shells of what we were they are still an opportunity for something greater. I plan on staying every bit of alive as I possibly can, with or without any of you."

He let his eyes make a sweep of the crowd, again assessing everyone who was now present. It was strange being in the presence of so many other contractors. Perhaps his excitement really should have been a feeling of protection. The girl de-rooting the tree by the other gentleman was quite entertaining, he couldn't help but let the smile that had emerged dance on his lips just a little bit longer. Looking across to the girl who asked about the mission he gave her a true smile,

"So much candor, it's quite adorable. But I do second the motion of finding out what exactly we're all doing here this evening."

"I'd like to know why we are all here for one mission. Having multiple contractors together isn't exactly the greatest idea." Asuna said with a dry, bored tone.

"hurry up the faster this mission is over the faster i don't have to see any of you people again" Kiba said with a serious face and a angry tone cracking his neck looking bored of waiting.

Ritsu looked at the man in all black blankly " I just want to get this mission over with before a fight breaks out" she said as she look at kiba " and it looks like one will break out soon..."she said as she went back to looking at the girl that threw up.

Seren raised his hand.

"Can I fight too? I know I can win against anyone! Look what I can do to my favorite tree!"

Moving slightly, he placed a light on its branches.

"Bye, bye."

Suddenly, it felt as if the world had ended.

Life rotted, matter died, and all at once, the air was filled with death.

The boy smiled, blood running from his nose.

" You see, I win".

"holy hell you hold the power of death in your hands i bet that's useful" Kiba said as he wanted to know what the others abilities are he was going to add but i bet the price isn't so nice but decided not to he thought no reason to as he will find out soon enough he hoped he would anyway.

She nodded towards Seren. "You were chosen for a reason, your power should come in use." She said, slightly more optimistic than her tone from before.

Once again Hitomi looked around, she knew people could be spying on them at any moment. She looked back to her squad and nodded. "Having multiple contractors together seemed like a farfetched idea for me to, but if you listen to the mission you'll understand." She said pulling her hair back and breathing in. "You see the Contractor community has quite expanded over the last 5 or 10 years, and these aren't contractors working for the Syndicate, these are government contractors..." She said with a bit of fear in her eyes. "These are practically our counters, made to destroy us and the Syndicate from the public eye. There are only 6 dispatched units so far, but they are accompanied by soldiers and have skill parallel to our own."

' well to his is just great the god damn government is now using our kind to do their dirty for them' she sighed a little at the thought " and let me guess...our job is to take out one of these units?" She asked bluntly.

Asuna pushed down her fear. "You're joking right? This just doesnt seem possible, or right." She closed her eyes and imagined her violin so she could calm down and think rationally. "So we are all here to kill the goverment contractors?" She asked simultaneously with the other girl.

"ha government lackeys so whats our job killing them or something else?" Kiba asked hoping it would be to kill them all as he thought it wouldn't take very long as the governments 'dogs' may have to play by the rules he thought leaving them at a disadvantage as breaking the rules is nothing new.
