Futuristic Brain Burger

"Okay, yeah. I'd say that works - you three guys stick here and hang with Chandler for a while, hit the range, maybe..." He pauses for a moment and thinks to himself. ".. Asha, I have a job for you which I'll tell you about in a minute, alright?" He nods at him and smiles. (@firejay1)

Ash looked up at Norman, head cocked to the side. "Nani?" (Which by now most would be able to tell means "what?")

"Heh. Well. Once you're done with breakfast I'll tell you about it, buddy. Clay can help you out with that as well while we're gone. It'll only take a few minutes." He says to him with a smile and nod as he finishes off the last of his own frank'n'beans. (@firejay1
Norman gets up after he's finished with his own food; Chandler also ate quite quickly, so he takes the two bowls and any cutlery that was used and places them in the sink; he proceeds to wash them up while glancing out the window at the gentle snowfall.

Tony and Clay stand to the side, letting Ash talk to Norman alone, before Tony goes out with him to help work on the gate. Neither of them are quite sure what it is Norman has in store, but trust him all the same.

After washing the dishes he takes Ash aside and crouches down to his level, smiling at him. ".. Right... The job I want you and Clay to do while me and Tony are gone is this - The new boy that's here, Chandler? Well. He's leavin' today 'cause he's lookin' for his family who might be in a different state, but I don't wanna' send him out with nothin', okay? So. While we're gone, do you think you could get Clay and go sort him out some stuff? Give him a rifle without the scope on the top, some ammo, a first aid kid, a big bottle of water and a couple of cans food? Think you can do that for me, buddy?" He asked him - he spoke quietly so it was only him who could hear it. Norman thought it'd be nice for Asha to sort of take the role of being the one who navigates everything - simply giving him more involvement and responsibility because from what he'd seen in the past, it'd made him happy. (@firejay1)

Ash nodded in excitement before flouncing back to Clay and Tony. Tugging on Clay's sleeve, he told him the plan, and the two of them went up to the supply room. Tony went over to Norman. "So, ready to go?"

He enjoyed seeing Asha's excitable mood. He looked at Tony with a smile and nodded as he tucked his hands into the pockets of his winter coat. He lead her out the front door of the department after calling a word of goodbye to everyone inside and then took her to the east fence - they bypassed it and he continued walking with her.

"That fence back there. That'll be our main entrance - we barely get any walkers comin' up that way, so the gate'll be just fine there." He said to her, taking a deep breath as he glanced around the cold outdoors for a few moments. ".. So... How you findin' New Hampshire so far?" He asked, a soft grin on his face as he looked across at her for a few seconds. (@firejay1)

Tony shrugged, smiling. "The weather's not much different from Penny, but I miss the tree house and the amount of cover we had back there."

"Yeah, I get ya'. Main highlight of life right now's the hot showers and runnin' water. And aside from that, obviously there's all the food and water, but... Always enjoy the little things, eh? We've got enough defence, and I can guarantee ya' that there ain't gonna' be many folk passin' through this state this time'a year. People like us in the Northern states, we live in the cold 'cause no one else can." He chuckles for a moment and takes a deep breath of fresh air. "So, you are..." He pauses for a few seconds. "You're fourteen, if I remember right?" He inquired. (@firejay1
When Tony and Norman left the building, they saw that any of the undead they encountered were either completely frozen from the cold, or moving so slow that they didn't pose a threat. With that, them and any other survivors were able to let their guard down more when outside and facing the undead.

Tony grinned at his joke. "Yup. It's nice having running water. Even the treehouse didn't have that. The food and clothing runs would be easy, but I'm glad we have some security about that, over here. It's great having the snow block up the zombies' movements."

"Exactly, I mean... Just look around at 'em all. Look at that one over there." He pointed over to one of the walkers that was sat against the side of a car, completely frozen over and idle. "Lookin' more like a damned snowman rather than somethin' tryin' to eat you, don't it?" He smiles for a moment and glances around the area again. "Tony. Question. When's your birthday? You closer to thirteen or fifteen?" He asked her while flicking the fringe of his hair off to the side, followed by burying his hands back in his pocket.

"February 15th. Why? 'Sit important?" She asked, looking at him curiously as they reached the gate area.

"It depends. I suppose a birthday's important enough to be 'important'." He chuckles softly as he leads her down the street and away from the department. "That means you were in... The... Eighth? Ninth grade before all this?" He asked, still wearing a smile. (@firejay1)

Tony shrugged at the grade question. "High school hadn't started yet. Wasn't sure if I was going to start high school anyways, my parents had died in a car crash not long before, and then it was one foster home after another. Foster homes didn't like me."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that..." He said softly, "Eh, high school weren't all that. College was where it was at. Fresher's week, gettin' drunk. For me at least." He said in a way to lighten the mood a little, followed by a chuckle. "Did you ever get any kinda' idea what job you wanted to do?" He asked, smirking when he thought back to his own aspirations.

"What? Is this an interview for when you manage to save the world?" She asked, smiling gently to indicate she meant no harm by it. "I wanted to become a martial arts instructor like my dad, or a softball coach."

"Ah, the sporty type, eh? Very nice. And yeah, when we save the world I'm gonna need someone to teach how to kick ass." He stated with a grin, giving her a light and playful nudge on the shoulder. "Heh, it's funny. I don't like bein' honest about this, but here goes - when I was about Nathan's age, I started off wanting to be a dancer, then it was a singer. Ain't that somethin'?" He said, giving an embarrassed laugh thereafter.

(@firejay1)

Tony choked on her laughter, and it came rattling out her nose. "You offering to be the entertainer at the huge birthday party I'm planning for myself next year?" She joked. "You'd be a horrible dancer. No sense of balance." She said, accidentally giving him an automatic appraising look. "So what's Nathan want to be, then?"

"Nathan? Boy always wanted to be a cop. Right from day one - he's a lot smarter than people realize; before all this happened he always did a lot of research and studyin' on law, medicine - he was more suited to go into chemistry or the courts, but I wasn't gonna change that." He said, turning a corner with her once they reached the bottom of the street.

"And you don't get to plan your own birthday party, c'mon, you gotta be adventurous - the build-up's the best part." He said with a friendly sort of grin that said 'don't you dare expect me to not intervene on that'. "Heh, I remember Nathan's... Seventh birthday party, I think. He was runnin' around, eatin' cake, candy - he runs back to me feelin' sick, surprise surprise - rushed him to the bathroom and he musta' spent a good five minutes just throwin' up, but hell, the party I helped put together for him didn't disappoint." He smiled at her warmly for a moment before redirecting his eyes to the street they were on. (@firejay1)

"I don't have any experiences like that. My stomach's always been like a black hole: once it goes in, it's not coming back up." She said with a little giggle, as they began working on the fence. "What did you do before this whole zombie thing started?"

"I was the local Santa Claus every year." He said in a dead serious tone. When she gave him that inevitable look that could just be expected, he shook his head and laughed. "Just kiddin'. I did absolutely Jack. Shit." He sighed but chuckled. "I'd only just got outta' college when this started. I was tryin' to get into engineerin' - passed the course, but... This happened." He glanced around for a moment.

"We'll see how much of a black hole your stomach is if you kicked it back with me one night and had a 'few drinks'. Heh, we'll see if you can brag about your iron stomach the next mornin'." He smirked in a joking sort of way but a part of him looked serious? A challenge or an offer to take up one day? Maybe after her birthday - he wasn't THAT irresponsible. He picked up the hammers and some nails and gave them to her while he picked up a wooden panel and held it in place with where the wall on either side of the gate would be.

(@firejay1)

"Hey, hey. You shouldn't be encouraging a minor to drink." Tony said, laughing. "Be warned though, both my parents were heavy-weight drinkers. I bet I'll be, too."

"Then it looks like we have somethin' in common." He smirked and held the panel in place so she could nail it down. "Girl. It. Is. On." He said in reference to the drinking. "After your birthday, maybe... You can go up against the walkin' beer keg. I can't WAIT to see try and out-do me." He said with a wink; he had hoped that the walk and conversation had gotten himself and Tony on a more friendly level now - he saw her as quite like him, in a sense. She appreciated a sense of humor, even though his and hers did differ a little. In a way he was happy that she'd said that to him in the gym as it sort of allowed him to open up and come to a better understanding. Maybe she felt the same way?

(That's my last post for tonight, @firejay1. It was a nice RP :) See y'all tomorrow!)

After the first board was put up he walked inside and went upstairs to find Elizabeth. He poked his head into the room they usually slept in and gave a soft smile at her.

"Hey, Ellie..." He said softly. (@Soul OMU)
