Doesn't necessarily need to be by the end. In one of the interviews, the author said that he plans to have a timeskip in the middle of the series, after which all the students are already pro-heroes.

That's a nice aspect of the show. Most shows would probably make them stay in school and it's them having to deal with training and the rivalry of the two main characters. However, they do get into battling, learning, and progress awfully quick, making it feel like real relationships and bonds are made. Along with certain characters having to change or show a different side of themselves.
For example, in some other show, the three main characters might stay together and it's just a circle of friends. However, Iida and Uraraka separate from Midroyia for a while. And while not close, Midoryia does become friends with some of the other classmates and they aren't just background

If so I see him being close friends with Sero, Shoji, Tokoyami, and Ojiro. Maybe, idk, going based off manga encounters.
