Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Nick smiles and nods to her."well this tastes wonderful Jen. Thank you for having a stranger in your home."He said and smiled at Alexandria."well I must go. Maybe if your lovely mother is okay with it I can take you out tonight." He says. Alexandria smiles and looked at her mother for hope." Well my dear Alexandria I shall see you later." He took her hand and kissed it.Alexandria blushed and looked away."I will walk you to the door." She got up and walked Nick to the door. "See you later." Alexandria says. She looked up at him and smiles. He kissed her cheek. "Soon." He walked out smirking. He texted someone"it is in motion."He said.


Alexandria watched him go and went back to the table to clear it. She hid her brothers food from her mother. When she was done cleaning the plates off and putting them in the sink. "Mom excuse me and Thomas we will go to the store and grab stuff.I need to talk to Thomas alone."She said with pleading eye's to her mother.

Jennifer grinned and nodded at Alex, before standing up and beginning to clean up all of the plates and glasses that were left on the table. She liked Nick, she thought he was a polite kid, and she wished her children were more like him, even if she did love her children.


Thomas watched as the food was taken away from him and he relaxed slightly, before hearing that Alexandria wanted to go to the store with him. He didn't like the idea of being spoken to alone but he couldn't escape it forever, so he stood up, then tucked his chair under the table before turning to his sister and smiling a little. He walked past her and into the hallway, pulling on his sneakers. "Let's go then," he calls, putting his hands in his pockets. He still felt sick, but less so now that there wasn't food in front of him.
 
Alexandria took the keys to the extra car."we shall be back mother. "Alexandria said and walked for the car. She unlocked the doors of the car and got in. She turned the car on and waited on her brother. Once he qas in the car. She backed out and drove for the store."Tell me why won't you admit to who and what you are. To me your sister. I won't tell on you ever you know that."Alexandria saud and glanced at him. "I am also not being sent away. I will just be more careful with where I go and when.don't worry I am not leaving you to fend for your self. I am sorry dad back handed you on my behalf.I won't stand for it and neither should mom."Alexandria said. She was protective of her brother. He seemed so fragile to her.

Thomas got in the car, buckling his seat belt and winding the window down a little to get fresh air on his face and hopefully make him feel less sick. "I won't admit to being what I am? I uh... I don't..." He was about to lie yet again, to defend himself and be straight in her eyes for a while longer, but the weight of all these lies crashed down on him right there. He began to cry, not a sob where all the tears came out at once, but slow trickling tears that trailed down his cheeks. He looked away from her and out of the window, "I dont-" he takes a sharp breath, trying to form a sentence properly, "I'm a freak," he looks back at her and uses his sleeve to wipe away the tears. He didn't know what to say back to her about their father or her being sent away, but he smiled reassuringly before looking down at his feet and wiping his eyes again. He felt slightly less sick now, which was good. He didn't want to throw up. "I'm weird and I wish I wasn't. I'm so afraid of what I am.." He looks out of the window, seeing the store approaching them, he sees a perfect opportunity to change the subject, "oh look, we're here. Yay." He mumbles quietly, itching to get out of the car and away from the conversation. As she pulls up, he pulls off his seatbelt before looking at her out of the corner of his eye, "don't tell anyone, please." He pleads with her before climbing out of the car.

Alexandria sighed and got out. She wrapped an arm around her brother."I would never tell on you. Trust me now come on. We have things to get. And hey being weird is cool your not a freak. Now cheer up my silly brother. "Alexandria said. She gave him half the list and took the other half for herself. "Meet me at aisle 4 when you are done."Alexandria smiles and walks for what she needs. Alexandria sighed as she grabbed things. She felt bad for her brother. He was a good kid. Except for the whole not eating thing.Alexandria. she wish he tell her parents about him being gay. It something he shouldn't hide no one should. Alexandria got everything and went to wait in isle 4 for her brother.

Thomas took the list, mumbling it to himself as he looked down it before walking into the store. He began to look for what he needed, picking up the few items on the list, and as he headed to aisle four he looked down it again to make sure he had everything. Distracted and with an arm full of food items, Thomas wasn't looking where he was going, and as he hit something solid he dropped what he had in his hands and cursed loudly, before looking up at who was there. He almost felt his heart in his mouth at the sight of him, and quickly blurted an apology as he fell to his knees and scrambled, trying to pick up his items. What was Ethan Chandler in his store? Well, it wasn't his store, okay sure, and he had every right to be here just like Thomas did. He suddenly saw Ethan close to him, helping him pick up some of his items. He stood up, and Ethan gave him the items back, smiling at him slightly. "Uh-thanks," Tommy stutters, blushing and looking away from him. "No problem, uh... Tommy right?" He asks, and Thomas's heart almost stopped, he knew his name. "Well, see you around." He says and begins to walk off, Tommy watches him as he goes and suddenly Ethan turns around, and mouths 'call me' to him. Tommy grinned and looked away, looking down at the items in his hands, and he noticed the number written on a piece of paper that Ethan had slipped him. He blushed and grinned, slipping it into his pocket and walking over to aisle 4, to meet his sister. He couldn't stop grinning.
 
Alexandria looked over."there you are. Oh I know that look you met someone didn't you Alexandria saud excitedly. Definitely have to let me meet him."Alexandria says. She smiled and walked for the check out line.She grabbed her moms credit card and payed for there food and supplies. She grabbed most if the bags and went over the items. She wasn't paying attention as she walked. She almost ran Into Nick."oh sorry si.. Nick I thought you had to go?"She said. He smiled. "Family needed stuff from the grocery store and I am glad I ran into you well you ran into me, but that is how it seems to go. Here is my number. Text me and will talk about tonight. "He says with a wink and walked away. Alexandria dropped her mouth as he did. She shook her head and walked for the car.

Tommy smiled, getting in the car and strapping himself in, he looked over at his sister. "That Nick guy seems nice," he smiles, and pushes his hair out of his eyes. It was a relatively warm day, and the long sleeves of his shirt were making him overheat, he wanted to take it off but, obviously, he'd have to wait till he got home. Thomas digs into his pocket and pulls out the number that Ethan had given him, then pulls his phone out of his pocket, writing down the number and adding it to his contacts, smiling while he did it. He couldn't believe that Ethan Chandler had given him his number, he really couldn't. Ethan was one of the most popular guys in their school. He was a year older than Tommy and Alex, but had been kept back a year due to falling behind. But Tommy didn't care. And he was hot too. Tommy bit his lip and grinned, turning his head to look out of the window. He definitely would call him.
 
Alexandria nids to her brother "he does at that."She says.Alexandria pyt the groceries in tge back and drove home. She let ger brother go In as age unpacked the car and groceries in the house and in there right places. Once she was done she grabbed her phone and texted Nick. As she waited for a reply she poured her self some water with lemon slices. Alexandria tapped her nails as sge looked around the house. She didn't know what you do today.

Thomas almost ran up the stairs, shutting the door quickly and loudly behind him as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and collapsed on his bed, his arms at either side of his head, he grinned at himself, before looking at his phone and wondering whether or not he should actually call. Wait- Did Ethan know he was gay? He bit his lip, if yes then how did he know? Was Ethan even gay? Was he playing with him? Thomas was suddenly doubting everything that he knew, or everything that he thought he knew. He quickly and impulsively tapped call on Ethans number and put the phone to his ear. Ring. Ring. Ring. Thomas almost hung up, thinking Ethan had given him a false number, or wasn't going to pick up, when suddenly he heard Ethan's voice on the other side. He grinned to himself. "You told me to call," he mumbles, awkwardly, he couldn't stop himself grinning, and when Ethan began to talk and laugh with him like he were an old friend, Thomas felt slightly calmer. They spoke for hours, and when Ethan eventually did hang up, they'd arranged a date. Thomas put his phone on his floor, he had moved from his bed and had been lying on his floor for the last half hour of the conversation, throwing a ball against his wall and catching it when it bounced off, repeatedly. He looked at the wall now, his grin still on his face. He looked at the clock, 3 in the afternoon.

Alexandria sat in her room as she texted Nick and sighed. She would see him at 7:30.Alexandria layed down and curled up. She went to sleep. Alexandria dreamed of Nick though many things were fuzzy and her dreams were all messed up. She finally woke around 4 and stared at her clock. The time ticked by as she went to fall back asleep till her alarm woke her at 6:30 in the evening. Alexandria was catching up on her sleep and ignoring her father who had come home not to long ago.


Jamie sat at his desk as he sighed. He had been harsh earlier he should apologize to both his son and daughter. Though they were thick as thrives, he could never harm what they had. They always had each other's backs and would not turn on one another. He went to check on Alexandria. She was curled up asleep in her bed.

Thomas had spent the rest of the evening pulling out his clothes from his dresser and trying them on to see which would look best for Ethan and his 7 o'clock date. Thomas had tried on every item of clothing and not found anything by 6:30, and so now he stood in his underwear glaring at his skinny reflection in the mirror. "Why don't I own any good clothes?" He groans to himself as he begins to pick up items from the floor and throw them on his bed sloppily. Eventually, he decided to wear black jeans as always, a blue shirt, and a grey sweater. He really liked his grey sweaters. Pulling them on over his head, he smiled slightly, fixed his hair, before walking out of his bedroom. He would tidy his clothes up later. Because he'd walked out into the hall, he saw his father and he stiffened up, remembering the situation all at once. "Dad." He greets, looking away from him with his hands in his pockets. His father made him nervous, afraid for when he ever may come out. He knew his fathers views on homosexuality, and they were not pleasant.

Alexandria sighed and woke to her alarm. She got up to get ready. She put in a black skirt and a black shirt. She fixed her hair and makeup. She heard her brother and sighed. She walked out of her room. "Oh hello dad Thomas. Dad Nick is taking ne out tonight."Alexandria told him.Jamie nods."have fun be home when ever. Is your brother going with you."He asked."oh yeah he Were dropping him off to hang with his friends. "Alexandria says. Jamie nods."you have fun."He said

Tommy looks down at the floor, putting his hands in his pockets and messing with the charm attached to his mobile. It was a small plastic Pikachu, which he should really have gotten rid of a long ago, but couldn't bring himself to. He looks from his dad to his sister and fakes a smile for his father, before running down the stairs quickly and going over to the front door. He pulls on his shoes and looks in the hallway mirror, making sure that he looked okay, running his hands through his hair. He felt butterflies in his stomach at the thought of going on a date with Ethan Chandler, but they seemed to have hit it off really well. He blushed at the thought of actually spending time with him and covered his face with his hands, he didn't want anyone asking why he was blushing.


Thomas waited for Alex to come down the stairs, and suddenly Jen came up behind him and wrapped her arm around his shoulder. "You and I need to talk when you come back," she says to him, and Tommy's good mood suddenly plummets and he turns to look at her properly. "A-About what?" he stutters, fearing the worst. "You know what. But don't worry about it, we'll talk later. For now, enjoy your date." She smiles before patting Thomas's shoulder reassuringly and walking out of the room. Jen thought about telling Jamie about her suspicions of Thomas being gay, but didn't think he would handle it well.
 
Alexandria walks down grabbing her purse. She smiled and kissed her mother's cheek."be back later dropping Thomas off with some friends."She said and nudged her brother outside. Alexandria smiles and walks out."you need me to take you some where?"" Alexandria asked. She got a text from Nick saying to meet him in town at the gazebo. She smiled and texted back she would. She was glad her parents were allowing her to go out with him.


Nick smiles at his phone. He waits for Alexandria she was a smart and crazy girl.Alexandria had no idea what was in store for her. Nick smirked and sat in the gazebo and waited.

"Yeah, actually, could you drop me off at the uh... The diner in town?" He asks her. Thomas and Ethan had arranged a date where Thomas would actually have to eat, and he was determined to handle it well so that he could look normal in front of Ethan. If things went pear shaped for him though, he would just do his usual and claim that he wasn't hungry or something. He got into the car in the passenger seat. He didn't know how to drive, and even if he did the family only had two cars, so he couldn't exactly drive anywhere anyway. Jennifer wanted to buy him driving lessons, but he had declined, saying he didn't trust himself on the road enough. He text Ethan telling him that he was on his way and would be there soon.


Jennifer looked at the door after her children had left, and bit her lip, before walking up the stairs and finding Jamie, she walked over to him. "Honey?" She calls, and wraps her arm around his waist while leaning on him slightly, "Jamie. Do you think that... Do you think there's something wrong with Thomas?" She asks. She was actually talking about his weight and how he wasn't eating much, which she had noticed. She didn't want to tell Jamie about her suspicion of his sexuality quite yet.
 
Alexandria nods. She drove and dropped her brother off. She had gotten her permit at 15 and driver's license the day she turned 16.her brother didn't want to so her mom and dad just slowed her to drive. She loved it. Her mom didn't go out much so this was basically her car."just text me when you want to be picked up."She said and winked at her brother "good luck."She said


Alexandria smiles and drives iff when her brother gets out. She goes to where she is meeting Nick and parks.Alexandria walked up to him.He kissed her cheek. "Come I have dinner set up on the hill. With a movie."he says.Alexandria blushed and smiles. "Wow perfect man."She said. She frowned slightly this was to perfect. What was he hiding. she keep her gaurd up, something was starting to feel off.He was to good of a kid, for something to not be wrong.

Thomas walked inside the diner nervously, and got a table for two, seen as Ethan hadn't text him back yet and he wasn't in the diner he thought he would save the table. He sat waiting for a while, checking his phone, growing more nervous by the minute. Where was he? Was he even gonna show up? Thomas suddenly felt sick. He was in a restaurant, surrounded by food, probably being stood up by the most popular guy in his year. He felt ashamed that he could even have been so foolish to believe that Ethan was into him, and as he got ready to leave, putting his phone in his pocket, he saw Ethan enter, looking as gorgeous as usual, and with a slightly worried expression on his face, he ran over to Thomas and sat down. Thomas was slightly confused, but Ethan apologised quickly. "I'm really really sorry, I smashed my phone to pieces by accident and I had to walk here, I couldn't let you know, oh wow." He says, he seemed slightly out of breath, which made his story believable. Or maybe Tommy just wanted to believe it so badly that he would. Ethan looks over the menu quickly, and when the waitress comes over he orders, then it was Tommy's turn. He panics, but quickly orders a salad, and when the waitress left to go get it, Ethan laughed at him. "Man, you eat like a girl, worried about your weight or some shit, fatty?" He teases, and Tommy goes red, looking down at the table.
 
Alexandria sat on the blanket. They ate and talked through the night. She was actually enjoying herself. Who was she kidding maybe the kid was just perfect. Alexandria shook it off and enjoying herself. They talked until a light flickered and a movie came on.Alexandria gasped, this was amazing. She leaned into him as the movie played on a white sheet he had set up. Alexandrias suspicions didn't leave her, they were nagging at the back of her mind. She watched the movie, one she enjoyed very much she was curious how he knew."how did you know I loved this movie."He smiles. "Most girls do, so I just guessed. "He says.

Ethan ate his massive burger and they talked and they talked, while Thomas picked at his salad, his disorder nagging at him, and the joking comment from Ethan not leaving his head. Soon it was gone from his brain, but not completely, but he forgot about it for the time being. They joked and they talked until late, and when Ethan had finally finished, Thomas offered to pay, but Ethan refused and paid for their meals himself. They left the restaurant, to outsiders they must have looked like two friends who were just having a good time. They stopped by record shops, Thomas told Ethan about all his favourite music and Ethan bought him a record. Thomas had completely forgotten about the joke by now, and was feeling better than ever. The night was drawing to a close, and when Ethan finally had to leave, they were stood on a road where no one was around, and Ethan leaned down and kissed Thomas on the lips gently, before walking away. Thomas stood there for a moment, completely shocked, until a grin spread on his face. He was about to call his sister so he could tell her about it and get her to drive him home, before he realised that she was on her own date, and it would be rude to interrupt it, so he began walking home alone.
 
Alexandria smiles as the movie came to a close.Alexandria sighed. "That was fun thank you I should get my brother and go home."She says. She got her phone texting her brother to see if he needed a ride. She stood slowly and stretched m she smiled at Nick. He walked over and kissed her on the lips gently. Alexandria melted into the Kiss. She was pulled into him and and there lips locked. Alexandria almost melted at his touch. she sighed pulling away."goodnight." She said and walked to her car. She unlocked it and started to drive down the roadmap she saw her brother. "Hey get in bro."She said
