Iris “Scarlet”

South East of Arcadia

The waiting was almost painful. Iris growled softly as she stood a step behind Roy watching as everyone else took off. Her ears folded back aggressively as the red head Champion taunted her partner and she felt a strong desire to rake her claws across the pretty boys face, perhaps then he could earn the nick name of mummy. As much as her claws itched to act she stayed put until given the signal to go, attacking another Champion wasn’t unheard off. With so much blood lust going on and some champions in direct competition with one another a fight would break out at least once a season. It drew a lot of attention the majority of it being bad, something Roy tried to avoid. Their team had a strong fan base but didn’t play into the hype as much as everyone else. They were considered more ‘down to earth’ focusing on training as oppose to fame and attention. Iris was the more social and energetic of the two so naturally got more attention which suited her just fine.

Finally the signal to go was given and Iris bolted out of the gated a rush of adrenalin kicking in hard as she left the gate following after Roy. She easily kept up with the other champion jumping from branch to branch as her eyes scanned for movement. Something caught her eyes and she paused on a thick branch, the claws to her gauntlet digging into the soft wood of the trees as she peered past the brush spotting another body unfortunately it was the red head from before. She growled softly digging her claws deeper into the tree before turning and springing to the next branch where she saw Roy heading.

Her ears perked up at the sound of an inhuman cry and she sped up reaching a small lake in time to see Roy fighting a Lurchbilge and a spike of worry stabbed her gut. She had no doubt he could handle himself but never trusted nature to play fair. She remained perched over the fight crouched and ready to jump in. Her eyes flickered around the area to make sure no other monsters crept closer curious about the sound. Scarlet kept an eye on the tail as it swayed dangerously wanting to snap it off but held back. Surprise attacking the monster while Roy was using a sword was always a terrible idea.

A small wide grin curved her lips as she he skewered the monsters head ending the small scuffle before retreating back into the trees. A glint caught her eye as several droids silently hovered above no doubt catching the end of the fight and lingered for another glimpse of the team. They had two options now stay or go look for more prey. She shifted to a higher vantage point, her sleek body moving fluidly along the thick branches of the trees as she moved on all fours to keep her balance.

It didn’t take long before more movement was noticed. The Champion crouched low on the branch as she watched a trio of Iseags enter the clearing. She looked over in the direction Roy had fled earlier spotting him with in the trees. He waved down to them before moving to draw his rifle. Iris smirked before activating her gauntlets causing them to hum softly with the electricity that had been stored.

The three rabid monsters circled the fresh killed barking and yipping at one another before tearing into corps. Iris couldn’t help a predatory grin as she watched the tree enjoy their last meal. She waited and watched for the right moment just as one of the creatures came within reach she snapped into action. The red head sprung off of her branch gloves crackling with electricity and struck with the precision of a predator. The nimble champion dove down upon the Iseags razor sharp claws digging directly into the spinal column on the hung of its back with a sickening crack. Her boots absorbed the impact of her fall leaving her unharmed by her landing though the creature below her was not so lucky. She clenched her hand slightly discharging the charge throughout the beasts spinal column effectively frying its nervous system.

Iris yanked her claw back in time to spring out of the way of one of the other Iseags who had taken notice of her. She hissed shifting into a defensive stance out of the corner of her eye she saw the other beast readying to join in the fight but was quickly dealt with thanks to her partner. The creatures was a little bigger than she was but Iris wasn’t scared, She had faced too many of the rabid drooling monsters to really be scared any more. The Iseags charged forward and Iris waited muscles tensed and ready to moved. Just as it was with in arms reach she sprung out of the way her enhanced reflexes making it easy to dodge the beast. As she moved right the monster sailed past her, Iris struck forward putting her whole body behind the blow sending the beast crashing into one of the trees with a sickening crack. The Iseags got back to its feed quickly and attempted to snap ad Iris once more but she managed avoid its snapping jaw of horrid teeth.

Scrunching her nose at the positively rancid stench of the beasts breath Iris side stepped another lunge by the stupid animal this time she extended her claws raking them through the side of the beast cutting deep into skin, muscles and scraping bones. She turned to face her enemy seeing the bloody mess she made of the creatures entire right side as it struggled to stand. Scarlet couldn’t help a deep sense of pride seeing her enemy shredded and bloodied. Not skipping a beat she lunged forward at the beast the first strike missing as it tried to retreat. However she didn’t let up swinging her other claw catching it across its face. The hook of her claw dug into the meat just behind the creatures jaw and ripping through it dislocating the jaw.

The Iseags let out a horrid yelp but it mattered little to Iris. She stepped forward following up the attack striking for the heart of the creature. Her claws dug straight through the soft tissue, slipping between the ribs and shredding the heart along with various other internal organs. The beat stopped its struggling a few second after the fetal blow. Iris let out a happy growl as she yanked her arm out of the creature chest letting it fall alongside the other monsters.

Her ears perked up and she grinned over to her partner before climbing into the trees to where he was perched “Two for two, not a bad start. Where to next?”

Connor

Arcadian Wall, East Gate, Ground-level.

The gate was about to open when the familiar giant of a man appeared. It appeared in fact he was not completly drunk, rather only slightly. Though In all honesty, Connor would never say that to his face...he'd heard stories, bad stories. Nevertheless, Boris was finally here. and just in time as well, the gate began to open. To the question if he was ready he nodded, "Line hit viens...would like to start soon, want adrenaline before pain...extra few minutes of calm before storm." His cursed his rapid fire dialouge in his head like usual. Shit there I go again, not good. not good. calm, need calm. Though his thoughts were interupted by the first phase of the line, increased aggression, rapidly so. Line in veins cannot remain calm! Want action want breaking! snapping! cracking! NO! calm down...only when see target, yes. He noticed himself shuddering and he tried to get a grip on himself, looking over to Boris.

He pointed towards the open gate, "Ye-eah...let's d-d-o this..." He turned back to face the open gate, he knew it was not a good idea to try and get Boris to move fast, the Red menace moves on his own time, there would be plenty of enough hunting following him, one just need to wait. Also one needed to keep their mouths shut. Something Connor was recently having a harder time doing especially with the Line. Yet he figured he'd end his talking with that last statement...so long as he could keep himself under control.

JASON

SE of Arcadia, deep in the forest.

Jason hopped his way through the trees, following the prints. His eye had analyzed the tracks, sending back the relevant information on what it belonged to. It was Lurchbilge, and a big one at that. He followed the tracks for a short while, coming to a stop near where the beast was hiding. It already looked like it was on edge, probably smelling the bloodshed in the area. Jason smirked a bit, sliding in an earpiece and wirelessly connecting it to his embedded electronics.

He skipped through his playlist of songs, finally deciding on something good. A classic. The opening thunder strikes of Slayer's classic, 'Raining Blood', caused him to grin. It was a song that he normally listened to when he was hunting, and his fans referred to it as his unofficial theme song. He dropped to the ground as the guitars started up, the Lurchbilge lifting its head to stare at him. Jason's eye switched, flashing a bright green for a moment. "C'mon, buddy. I just wanna be your friend." he crooned at the monster, eliciting a loud roar from the creature in reply. Jason just smirked, arcs of electricity sliding around his body. The Nectar was doing its job, and well at that.

The creature charged him, the large stinger shooting down at the Champion at a blinding speed. Jason lifted his blade in response, grinning as the stinger hit the flat of his blade. He heard it crack and shatter, the massive sword flipping around and slicing the Lurchbilge's tail. He severed it cleanly, taking a step back as the creature howled in pain and swiped at him. Easily blocking the next few strikes he flipped his blade around, suddenly burying the hook deep into the monster's head. With a loud crack of thunder, a lightning bolt shot from above, channeling through Jason and frying the creature's nervous system. He yanked the blade from the thing's skull in a shower of gore, watching as it twitched and writhed on the ground.

Killing Lurchbilge was his specialty, and accounted for seventy percent of his kills. He reached down and yanked one of the creature's fangs out, tucking the tooth into a pouch on his belt before moving on. It wasn't long before his thermal imaging picked up another set of tracks, and after a short battle he had another Lurchbilge kill under his belt. He kept moving deeper and deeper into the forest, following fresh tracks wherever he could find them.

Jason followed another set of tracks, once again on the tail of another Lurchbilge. They were everywhere this season, which worked just fine for him. Walking into a clearing he paused, noticing the tracks had vanished. He frowned a bit and looked around, not seeing any sign of the monster until he heard a warning hiss in the trees above him. He sighed deeply and turned around, looking up at a massive Lurchbilge, poised in the trees and ready to leap down on him.

Before the creature could even hiss again, Jason suddenly threw his arm out at it, four steel harpoons slamming hard into the monster's body. It let out a howl as he channeled sharp jolts of lightning through the steel cables, yanking the monster from the tree. It hit the ground hard and yowled in pain, thrashing and clawing and stinging at anything within range. Jason just waited for it to stop panicking, impatiently tapping the back edge of his blade on his shoulder.

Once it calmed it got to its feet, tail arced over its back menacingly. It struck at Jason, who caught the tail just behind the poison sac with an iron grip. Another massive dose of electricity shot through it as it clawed at him. Jason responded by giving the tail a sharp twist, violently separating the stinger from the rest of the tail with his bare hand. "Buddy, c'mon. Play nice." he crooned with a smirk, jamming the stinger deep into the creature's side. It thrashed and yowled in agony as the stinger dug into its flesh, swiping violently at Jason. He brought his blade up quickly and severed the creature's paw, taking out the other one in the next motion. It hit the ground hard, and was quickly dispatched by a single strike to the back of the neck. Collecting his tooth Jason smirked, swinging the blood from his blade.

"That makes three, with plenty of time to spare." he said, tossing the tooth into his pouch before he moved on.

Madison "Frost" Green

Arcadia Wall, North Exit, Ground Floor

Madison sat on the ground just inside the gate of the North Wall of Arcadia, tuning out the world around her. All she watched the clock tick down, mere minutes from hitting eleven. She felt the pace of her breathing increase, not noticeably enough for others to truly notice, but more than enough to make Madison worry. She had to be able to confront the Hunt again, go back to the place where she lost her sister.

People ran back and forth across the facility, probably discussing last minute preparations for the Hunt. Madison, or "Frost" to the viewers, had a small following, mostly of viewers who saw how much damage she had taken years earlier, losing her eyes and left hand. Therapy and the technology of the forty-first century had worked wonders on her body, helping her to avoid permanent blindness and the loss of her hand. She was a retiree going back into the business that ruined her body and killed her sister, something uncommon for the Hunt.

Five minutes, the clock said. Five minutes until she could return to hell. Five minutes until she could finally use Nectar once more, stop trying to recover from her 'addiction'. Unlike most, she waited until the absolute last moment to use it, wanting to be able to spend as long as possible on the Hunt, killing the monsters that ruined her life.

Madison checked her gun, making sure both it and her extra magazine were fully loaded, ready to help her in case an emergency came up. The gun was old, older than her, but the people of Eximius were excellent at upgrading ancient hardware, making her weapon better than new. She was well practiced in firearms use, spending much of her retirement at a shooting range, but this would be the first time she was in the field, using her gun in a life or death situation. She hoped it would be of help when her powers weren't.

One minute. One minute until she could go back to that wild world outside of Arcadia. She looked for her nurse, finding him as he walked toward her, Nectar in hand. Her breathing slowed a bit, glad to see the vial that vastly improved her powers in his hand. She wondered how people like him got jobs working with Champions. The thought passed as soon as it arrived, however, as he seemed to be saying something. "What?" She asked, confused.

"I said, are you ready?" The nurse asked, sounding more than a little annoyed. She obviously wasn't his first patient of the day, and more than likely wasn't the last. There was always a late arrival, or twelve. She would have felt bad for him, if he didn't seem like such an ass.

As soon as she nodded, the nurse got to work, looking where he would inject her drug. He almost immediately found a perfect spot, and didn't even bother asking if she was ready before filling her with the glorious chemical. Madison watched as her veins lit up, reacting to her drug almost immediately. She felt her powers, usually almost completely dormant, grow in strength significantly, much to her enjoyment. Of course, all of this was accompanied by the first of many headaches that would accompany her powers, but they weren't nearly bad enough to warrant attention yet.

As soon as the clock hit 11:00 and the doors opened, Madison was hit by a welcome burst of cold air. She immediately sprinted through the gates, not even offering a simple goodbye to her nurse, not that he'd care. Her goal was the mountain, or at least part of it. The higher she was, the colder, and the colder it got meant the fewer champions competing for kills, as well as a far more comfortable environment. Of course, all of this meant nothing if the wildlife wasn't up there, but she was more than a little confident that there would be some kind of creature to kill.

In the dense trees leading up to the mountains, Madison found a strange peace. A calm before a growing storm, it seemed. She watched the nature freeze immediately as she ran by, a telltale sign that her subfreezing temperature field had been working. The Nectar was doing its thing, improving her abilities significantly in an incredibly short time. Madison couldn't help but smile at that. She was back in business, finally ready to kill those creatures and keep other families from dealing with the loss she felt.

Royce

southwest forest

Roy’s eyes had locked onto the trio of Iseags feasting about at the same time that Iris had spotted them. Slowly and quietly, he put his Katana back in its sheath. Raising his left arm, he made a fist. Such a symbol was designed to signal Iris to slow her pace. Once he had extended both his pointer and index fingers belonging to the very same hand, he gestured down to the group of monsters. This was akin to saying ‘go pounce, kitty’.

His right hand reached behind his back, grabbing the sniper off after unhinging it from his exoskeleton. He positioned it so that the butt was pushed up between his right shoulder and pectoral muscle. His left hand would press against the large glowing button on its side, which effectively extended the barrel of the gun. Once he had done so, he looked upward. There was plenty of space left to manipulate within the trees, and he needed to get higher. So, the man began hopping from branch to branch within his immediate radius.

When he had gotten to a significantly higher vantage point, he used the scope of his gun to observe the scene. Iris had been at work, already having dealt with one of the Iseags. Roy had originally calculated that she would be able to get one on her way down; it was part of understanding the woman’s fighting style. The other monster had shown signs of readying itself to attack. Roy zoomed into the Iseags’ frame. He crouched onto the branch, his finger pulling the trigger back twice in succession. Air drew it from both sides of the gun before the tip of the barrel bathed with yellow energy as it fired. Roy’s upper-torso moved back slightly with the recoil of the sniper after each shot. The bullet sailed through the trees, diagonally soaring into the right side of the monster’s head. The monster died when the bullet was plunged into its neck.

Unfortunately, because his powers were connected to his own life force, Roy had not been able to access enough energy alone to truly be great. He could do small feats, such as helping his gun fire at a faster pace - but it hardly made a difference aside from increasing range. Without use of the line these powers were reduced down to the bottom of the list in terms of usefulness.

Of course, that being said; the very same powers also happened to be some of the most dangerous with the right amount of Nectar.

When Iris had finally finished with the last beast, Roy watched as the climbed up the tree. He retracted the scope in his sniper prior to putting it back in its rightful place on the small of his back. Having some sort of map would have been of use given the situation, but Roy never traveled with such things. He knew the forest pretty well but having a visual aid never hurt.
“We are on the southwest side now, so… We should go north. I’m sure we’ll walk into something along --“

A pause in speech. Roy’s attention had been grabbed by the sound of multiple feet patting against the ground. Searching desperately to find where the source was coming from, the champion already was aware of the culprit behind the sound.
“Follow me. Keep close.” And with that, Roy was leaping through the trees again. He was moving purely based off sound, trying his hardest to pinpoint the location of where he believed a stampede of monsters had been running.

As he got close to the portion of the trees before the clearing itself, Roy noticed that he was correct; Eighteen monsters - Buta. They were running through the flatlands, heading toward the lake. Something must have scared them away from the direction they were headed because they seemed to be hauling ass for dear life. Roy did not slow. He leaped off of the final branch before the clearing, launching himself into the clearing. Keeping his legs tucked in close to his body, he fell down toward the group of Buta at a swift pace.

Finishing his landing with a swift roll, Roy continued running toward the stampede. He ripped the katana from its sheath once more, both hands eventually moving to grasp the hilt as he pointed the blade toward the group. When he got to the point of being dangerously close, he launched himself up into the air once more. Soaring through the air a solid four to five feet over a couple of initial Buta, Roy span his body three hundred and sixty degrees, clockwise. Each Buta that had jumped to try and strike him had missed.

In the middle of the pack, Roy made his entrance with a spinning kick. The backside of his right heel smashed into the face of a Buta, cracking its neck as the metal made contact with it. The thought of the other Buta in the area had never left his mind. As a result, Roy did not even know that he killed the one that he hit. Nor did see that the impact of his kick had sent the frame of the monster sliding a couple of feet away, hitting another Buta into a tree.

After landing firmly on his feet, one set of claws swiped at him. The champion brought his Katana upward, deflecting the large talons. When another set swiped at him, his entire body had leaned back to avoid them. Turning the dodge into a back handspring, Roy would force his momentum as far back as he could upon landing on his feet. This caused him to smash into the Buta which had been hit by the dead one; the metal of the champion’s exoskeleton pushing the monster into the trunk of a tree had injured it by putting a large dent into the top of its head. The monster’s legs went immediately limp behind him. He had to re-position himself slightly to let the limp body drop behind him before he smashed its face into the ground with a foot twice.

The stampede of Buta was more like an angry group now. They all had their attention on Roy.

Katherine "Kat" Ariat

The Shadowcat perked at the cling-clang the grenade made as it bounced on the ground. "Cover my nose?" She tilted her head as the pink gas spewed out. She sniffed the air,"GAH!! Ewwww!" Her face cringed and her nose crinkled as she coughed, gagged, and gasped for air. She put her arm over her face, the bend of her elbow covering her nose. Her eyebrows furrowed angrily above her teary green eyes,"Thats nasty!" She exclaimed with her voice muffled.

She walked backwards and away from it as the dark creatures went to the diversion, distracted by its scent. Putting her arm back down, she looked across the pack, through the floating pink cloud, and to Sun,"Looks like theyre having a little party~" her voice yelled to him above the snarls and growls, making The Ghost giggle, thinking it was kind of adorable.

Kat scratched her head through her green hair with the butt of her pistol,"Do we kill them now?" In the blink of an eye an Iseag, that had not been so easily distracted like the rest, tackled to the ground her from behind to catch her off guard. They tumbled and rolled a little ways before coming to a stop, a pistol escaping her hand on the way,"Oof!" She said as she was pinned down, looking up at the animal. Her pistol slid across the ground before it stopped. The iseag drooled, hundreds of needle like teeth gleaming in her eyes as it tried to snap at her, bringing Kats attention away from the landing of her gun to the problem infront of her. She used all her strength to push it back but its claws were dug into the ground on either side of her head to stay anchored. She wriggled and squirmed trying to push it back with one arm. Her other arm was free and had a pistol in hand. Kat struggled but managed to bring it to the neck of the overpowering beast and shoot three quick bullets, one after another. 1, 2, 3, the staccatto sounds of the bursts echoed through the trees. "Heh heh~" the young girl snickered with a sadistic grin stretching her pink lips. The heavy animal fell limp once the first bullet pierced its neck and skull, going right through and disappearing into the sky. Using all the strength she had in her legs, she lifted the animal off her petite body and rolled to the side to come out from underneath. Now on her stomach, she could see her other pistol laying on the ground about 5 feet away from her position in front of her,"There you are~!" Her tone was cheery and accompanied by a very happy grin. She rolled onto her back, lifted both legs simultaneously and did a tumble roll back to land crouched on her feet, all in one motion. She turned behind her and grabbed her other gun before popping up to stand on her feet. She fixed her hair,"That was unexpected..." and put a hand to her hip.

Caleb "The Animal" Giles

North of the Arcadia wall

Caleb watched as the beast tore through the mountains as Caleb maintained enough control so that it didn't look for other champions as he kept it focused on the beasts in the area. He had been doing this for four years now, on his very first hunt he had actually been in full control of the transformation but unfamiliar with it, the next time he transformed it had become harder to control and by the fifth time he had no control over it at all. Through most of the hunts he would watch as the beast would throw the animals into a nearby tree, break their backs, disembowel them and yet it would completely fail to finish it off.

This time he had exited from the north entrance, where the moutains were located, usually he was at one of the western or southern forests, which is what he preferred. Though his team suggested he start off from North this year to mix things up think that it might help him. It probably wasn't going to even though being in a somewhat unfamiliar area was a bit nice. The moutains were definitely different from the forest and the beast was not used to it, it acted as if it was not in its natural environment. It took careful steps as Caleb watched and constantly reminded it of the current goal so it did not get distracted.

It wasn't long before two Centurious were spotted and attacked. Centurious were all too common around the city but they were easy to kill for him. One had already began to leap at him as the beast had dropped low to the ground as the first one missed. The second had began to dash at him but was unsuccessful as he quickly moved to the left to stand besides the beast and brought down all the strength it could onto the center of its back. If it weren't for the pain suppression it would have hurt but not a single ounce of pain was felt. The centurious tried to turn around to bite but it met a claw into the side of its face giving enough time to produce a second strike, this one breaking some of the bones on its back. It let out a cry of pain before the second Centurious showed up trying to leap again. This time the beast stood up on two feet and grabbed the centurious's front legs keeping it far enough away from biting before throwing it against a tree. The injured second had endured a third hit in the same spot from Caleb, this time though it was a complete body slam as the sound of multiple bones breaking both inside and outside the body could be heard. The first had once again gotten his attention as he leaped directly onto it and dug claws directly into the centurious's neck as it began to bleed profusely. Then, the claw was pulled back and ripped the centurious's neck open blood spilling everywhere.

Quickly growing bored the beast took off leaving the two centurios to their fate. Looking through its eyes Caleb noticed there was blood on his forearms and it didn't belong to the centurios. The claws seeming dug deeper than he thought but he couldn't just stop and fix the wound, it was going to have to heal on its own.

Jameson Armstrong

Eastern Arcadian Wall, Observation Platform Terrace

For a long time, Armstrong stood at the edge of the wall, he was in an upper observation point, staring out at the land before him. He watched as Redd Shotokhan, The Blood Ogre, fought against the creatures he'd encountered and challenged. He watched the field as Connor Friesland and Boris Artyom Svarog moved off to collect their own glory.

Armstrong frowned at the condition of the field, he was ill amused by the current standings, by the lack of a challenge. The year before had been glorious, but now, there were so many coming out of the gate he had stuck to the year before, that he was unable to find any comparable way to find great honor in his entry to the field. So he did what came naturally to him. He went with his gut. Armstrong took a running pose, and then shot forward, his muscled legs and toned body working in tandem as they allowed him to race forward towards the edge of the platform.

"Now I'll show you one of the Armstrong Families most powerful techniques, passed down through my family for Generations! The Armstrong Divebomb!" He shouted as he made the final leap off the platform.

Armstrong shot out, away from the platform, away from the wall, he nearly flew as his voice echoed out, "Behold my Glory!!" He shouted as he shot forward in a downward arc towards the ground. His kinetic barrier was always active, so as he raced towards the ground, he concentrated on it, and came to a smashing halt in the forest, nearly a half a mile from where he had been before. His rate of travel, and downward descent had allowed him to travel a great deal further then a simple drop off the edge of the platform would have otherwise allowed, so now, as he was about to crash into the ground, he shouted, "ARMSTRONG DIVEBOMB!!!" As he collided with the earth. His feet dug in, or rather, the kinetic barrier around him blew chunks of rock and dirt and the occasional tree out of his way as he shot forward into the ground, leaving behind a carved path like that of a meteor crashing into the earth at an angle.

Armstrong was dusting himself off with a small brush when the dust began to clear around him. He placed the brush away and then placed his right index finger in his mouth, before holding it aloft. He waited a few moments, and then, pointed towards the north, stating, "This way. There must be something this way." He began to climb his way out of the trench he had made, a scar that would forever be a part of the forest, or at least until seasonal rain washed it away. For now though, he ignored the trench as well as the nest that lay behind him, ruined, and covered in his scent.

Without much more thought, he began his walk towards the northern section of the forest, his gauntlets clinking ominously in the shade, all three doses of Nectar still unused, and intact. Jameson Armstrong's Kinetic sense was transmitting back more details in the small area around him then he cared to observe, and without the Nectar, the information was always a jumbled mess in his mind, so he pushed away the phantoms that weren't there as far as he knew, and strode onward, to glory and honor!!

Jekyll Wilson

Arcadian Outskirts, North Side, Heading towards Arcadian Mountains.

Jekyll grunted as he felt the bones of the Buta crack under his fist, the condensed rubber doing nicely in destroying the layered foundations that the mutations were able to craft around the bones of the creature. The creature flying into the air, its brain ruptured quite nicely from the velocity Jekyll's fist had made contact with. A grin set upon his lips, Jekyll looked around eagerly at the wild pack of Buta that he had found after some time of looking. He had taken down some straggling Buta for the past few minutes, and it seemed the scouting creatures had lead him right back to the main pack. At the moment he was surrounded, a slightly worrisome situation, because Buta worked best in packs and cornering prey, but he had a surefire way to get out of the trouble he had literally fallen into. The creatures were tense around him, their muscles ready to burst into movement and pounce at the offender of their pack. Jekyll condensed his hands, and the upper parts of his arms, as he readied himself. After a few tense moments, the first Buta exploded into movement, the others following closely.

Grabbing the first Buta by the throat, Jekyll managed to throw it off, before flipping backwards. His feet stayed stuck to the spot he was standing as he bent backwards, causing a Buta coming from behind to miss, but they followed in a sudden whiplike flash, smacking the off-target Buta in the face and launching him back to where he had leapt at Jekyll from. Jekyll didn't stop his momentum as his feet hit the ground, his body falling to the ground as held his weight with his hand as he struck out with one of his feet, the appendage elongating and smacking another Buta away as it tried to take a bite out of Jekyll. Jekyll was about to get into another position, when he felt a Buta charge into him with its snout attempting to break through his rubber skin with its teeth, a possible thing to do, but Jekyll still had time to react. Launching into the air with his hand, Jekyll reared his fist back before he brought it back down and smacked the tackling Buta into the ground, the ground cracking a bit as Jekyll's condensed fist cracked every bone in the Buta's body .

Falling back onto the earth, Jekyll smiled as he saw all the Buta unconscious, or dead. His adrenaline not allowing him to check and make sure about their deaths, letting others do that for him at a later date, Jekyll continued on his path towards his favorite Hunting Grounds of last year. Pushing back a stray branch that was concealing the best view of his goal, Jekyll smiled as he looked at the mountains. In all their glory, the Arcadian Mountains were a massive cesspool of different types of monsters, and he was going to love every second of getting there and racking up more on his kill count. Besides, he needed to say to all the little lambs.

Outside of Arcadia's walls, Far Side of the Planes (Opposite of the lake), Surrounded by Forests, Shadow of the Mountains

Redd kept his 'Heaven and Earth' stance atop of the pile of Uaccam for a few moments longer until he saw motion from within the treeline. Several more minutes passed with still no other monsters daring to challenge him for this 'meal' he had prepared. He grew slightly aggravated, and lowered his hands. That's when a 'sparkling' meteor shot overhead and crashed somewhere beyond where he was standing. "...Hm." He rolled his shoulder, paying it no mind. He knew that the stench of the blood that saturated the ground would attract other predators. In fact, the entire forest seemed to be buzzing with some sort of life. Unfortunate for Redd and his hunt the buzzing and shuffling of leaves, shifting of shadows, and the occasional smoke from somewhere deep in the forest was all he could see. Fire perhaps? Must be one of the other champions. Never-the-less! Redd's thoughts snapped back to the forest around him. "Must make it cozy, then."

He stepped down off of the forty Uaccam and made his way towards the tree line. He picked out the thickest of the trees and stood in front of it with his body positioned sideways. He pivoted his body on the ball of his left foot, raising his right heel and placed it against the side of the tree. He did this twice more, getting a 'feel' for the act he was about to perform. The tree was like a red-wood, tall and proud. To the audience, it would seem unfathomable for him to even think about doing what he was preparing for. But just as he finished 'sizing up' the tree, he bend both of his knees. His body was still turned sideways as he held his left hand up in a 'guard' that he had no doubt placed up due to the habit of his martial arts teachings. And with a roar, he shouted out. "Kaaah-Taaah!!"His body propelled towards the tree in a twisting motion. His right foot wound around like a whip, smashing his heel against the bark of the tree. And with another roar, he smashed his left foot into the ground, propelling himself off into the air.

His heel drove itself deep into the bark, smashing its way through the tree trunk like a sledge-hammer smashing through particleboard. He made not one-... not two.. not even three rotations- but six full rotations. Each one seemed just as powerful as the last as his heel sliced through the tree like a buzz-saw. He even accidentally 'chopped down' a smaller tree behind it as he came to land horizontally standing on the medium-sized tree behind the one he just flew through. With a spry leap, he propelled himself upwards, kicking the top of the tree as it hung in the air, not yet having taken on the effects of gravity and forced it to tumble forwards into the field to land beside the pile of Uaccams. Shortly after the loud **KER-KROSH** of the tree smashing into the ground, Redd landed on its trunk and began to walk up its length to clear out the branches. The drone flew low beside him to look at his right heel. It had friction-burn and a few splinters in it, much to the surprise of the audience who no doubt thought he was going to break his foot.

Ryu-cvs-hurricane.gif

Redd broke off several of the lower limbs of the tree. He split them in half with a chop, jabbed a hole through one half with his right index finger, and took one of the twigs and made a 'wooden-drill'. After getting some dried bark-shavings and pine-needles from other trees, he started to rub his hands together with the stick in the hole he made, collecting the embers on the bark. After just ten seconds, the wood underneath started to smoke. He took it up in his hands gently as if cradling a child and blew lightly at an angle down and across the 'back' side of the smoldering pile. And soon he had a fire. One he would use to cook a Uaccam with. After all, he wanted to lure out the creatures of the forest. He already had 40 kills to his name thus far. He would be patient from now on to try and reel in the 'big-fish' of the forests. And if it took too long, he may end up having himself a meal as well. Steak always was his favorite.

Sun saw his partner in a struggle, and laughed. "Hope you survive the struggle there buddy..." He takes careful aim with his pistol, and shoots one straight through the spinal cord, killing it. "Bingo. I got about another 10 seconds till' that smoke wears off..." Sun takes another careful shot, shooting another through the spinal cord. Times up Sun... At least three are down all ready.

With only four left, he knows of a quick way to get rid of one of them. He points his finger at one of the beasts, then emits a powerful laser, burning through the Iseag, however it missed the vital spot. The beast runs away in pain, however it's clearly not dead. Sun blows his finger, like putting out a flame.

He looks around to notice how much of the forest is ruined, just because he wanted to attract attention.
"Oh well... Trees grow off trees." He chuckles, then leans against a nearby, not cut down tree, and looks over at his partner.

"Hey princess!" He yells, "I'll let you handle the rest, I don't wanta' hog all the fun." He grins, waiting to see how his partner plans on taking these down. Of course though, if she need's help, he'll provide it.

Reminder

I kind of noticed a few people coming across small hordes of monsters and racking up a bunch of kills. I guess this is my fault for not bring it up easier but the average max kills is usually 10. Hence why most people only have about 100-200 kills even after 2-3 years of being a hunter. I'll chalk up the large groups to it being the first hunt of the season and there being a lot of monsters around from the winter months but please keep this in mind going forward. Monsters aren't THAT easy to find. Most cattle/easy monsters are domesticated (This is my fault for not clarifying).

Again just something to keep in mind for future hunts.

Iris "Scarlet"

South West Forest

Iris's ears twitched and turned to the sound before Roy mentioned it her interest already peaked. She followed a step behind Roy able to tell the monsters they were closing in on by the horrid squeals they made. Buta, easy prey but traveled in pack making them annoying to kill. Smirked slightly watching as Roy jumped into the heard, disrupting their flow and raining down death up on the unsuspecting creatures. Iris waited until Roys flurry was done to strike, it was one of the small faults of both of them being close range combatants. They could work in harmony with one another and fight side by side but sometimes in small hoards it was better to thin out the numbers before both attacking.

Iris growled growled softly as the herds attention focused on Roy making the perfect time to jump in. She bolted out of the brush quick and silent striking the closest mutated pig slicing deep into it's neck and severing the major veins and arteries. She didn't stop with the first she dealt similar fatal blows at lightning speeds into three of the creatures before their slow minds could catch up to what was going on. She smirked springing back dividing the remaining twelve or so between them making the numbers much more manageable.

The first two creatures to charge at her were easily avoided. She bounced back onto the rock formation behind her before using the boost in height to easily clearing the monsters letting the two crash into the rocks. As she sprung up to avoid the first two she pounced upon one of the other who tried to fight back her claws digging deep into his tender belly letting its guts spill onto the ground. She felt the pressure of a blow to her side and kicked out hitting one of the creatures in its snout no doubt crushing it into its face. The weak creatures could fight back all they wanted but any chance of causing any actual injury was low thanks to her suit. If it had been a more predatory animal the outcome would have been very different out come. She jumped out of range from the buta sliding to a stop a few feet away.

Her ears twitched catching the sound of something behind her and a shiver crept her her spine. A primal instinct warning her that something more dangerous was coming. The buta let out high pitched horrible squeals before turning to flee.

"Roy Incoming!" She called over to him managing spying the brush moved out of the way of a quickly incoming creature.

Her ears picked up the hiss and snap of electricity and she jumped back quickly just as a large Shockliz burst into the small clearing. Iris managed to miss its snapping jaws but the creature dug its front legs into the ground and twisted its body shifting it's momentum as it spun. The thick tail of the creature was whipped around slamming into the petite champion. Iris saw the tail coming and managed to brace since dodging wouldn't be possible. She's barely landed from her jump when the tail smashed into her sending her skidding across the ground and into the brush.

The creature hissed at the remaining Champion ans he stood among the carcass of various buta electricity sparking off of its body.

JASON

SE Forest

Jason made his way through the trees, tracking what looked like another set of Lurchbilge tracks. If he could bag ten of the creatures, he'd be doing pretty good for the first Hunt of the season. Of course, as with most well-laid plans, this one wasn't going to go as he thought.

As he entered a small clearing he stopped in his tracks, feeling the hair on the back of his neck stand up. The drone camera swung around in front of him, seeming to focus on something behind him. At least it was getting good shots for his fans. A sudden crack of thunder echoed through the forest as he was engulfed in lightning... which did absolutely nothing to him. He chuckled a bit to himself and glanced over his shoulder, staring down the Shockliz that was poised to strike behind him. "Good try, good try... Won't do you any good, though." he mused quietly as he sheathed the massive blade on his back. He clapped his hands together, shaking his arms out as he stared the huge creature down.

Before he could say anything witty the creature lunged at him, snapping sharply at him. He stepped back and avoided the bite, lifting his leg high over his head before bringing his heel down hard on the top of the monster's head. The strike made it back up, shaking its head with a growl.

"You can do better than that. Try again."

The Shockliz roared at him and spun, whipping its heavy tail at him. Jason jumped, barely avoiding the attack. He hit the ground and jumped again, running along its back before straddling the creature's neck and grabbing its horns like reins. The Shockliz started bucking like an enraged bull, electricity crackling and arcing to try and get the hunter off of its back.

Jason let out a whoop and held on tightly. This was what he was good at, giving the camera a good show. That's what had earned him the most money and sponsorship deals. He held on for a long few moments before jumping off and landing several feet away.

"And he holds on for the full eight seconds! The crowd goes wild!" he cheered for himself, unsheathing his sword as the Shockliz turned to charge him. Since he was already on a sports kick, he flipped the blade around so the flat edge was facing the creature.

"The Ogre steps up to the plate, bases loaded... Just one more home run to earn him the championship!" he grinned as the creature charged, and with perfect form he swung, bringing the back of the sword up into the creature's chin with enough force to knock it vertical on its back legs.

He flipped the blade around and spun, tearing the hook through the creature's stomach in one clean strike. The Shockliz let out one final roar of pain before falling on its side, twitching as it expired.

"It's good!" Jason smirked, flicking the blood from his blade. "Damn, where's the challenge? At this rate, I should go hunt down a Mantis or something..." he said as he scratched his head. Shrugging it off he kept moving through the forest in search of bigger prey.

Royce

Southwest Forest

The sound of the final Buta’s insides falling to the ground would ultimately mark the annihilation of the stampede. Flicking the wrist belonging to his right hand, all of the blood that bathed the blade of his sword would be flung onto the ground beside the Buta’s half-open body. At the same time as he was finishing up with his last kill, the young man’s partner would warn him of yet another threat. This was expected. Something had to cause the group of Butas to run rampant in the first place. Roy was not surprised to see the likes of a Shockliz appear – though it had done so seemingly out of nowhere.

When Iris had taken a rather heavy hit and was forced to slide out of the confrontation, Roy’s teeth clamped down. The grip on his Katana tightened prior to his attention fully fixating on the monster, which had been just shy of ten feet away. The trails of electricity told Roy that there would be no way to get in close to the monster without receiving a lovely shock. His sniper would be the only option that was viable. The other option was if he used some of his line.

Just the thought of using the Nectar made him wretch. There were much larger and more dangerous monsters that were worthy of him crossing that threshold. With so much time left in the hunt, there was a perfectly reasonable explanation on waiting to administer the drug. As Roy put his sword back in its sheath, the Shockliz leaped forward toward him. Spinning in mid-air, the monster would attempt to strike Roy with its tail. The champion was able to hop slightly off the ground to avoid the appendage, but was not able to avoid the claw it threw next. It hit his midsection, scraping a rather large amount of his bodysuit off of his torso. With just the use of a couple claws, it had basically been torn to shreds. A couple of cuts had opened up as well, but were not bleeding enough for the young man to be worried about.

Of course, this meant that the scars on the front of his body were revealed. Roy did not care at the moment, given the fact that his entire frame was sent careening a few feet back. His limbs were twitching slightly, a moderate shock seemingly energizing the boy rather than hurting him. It was without doubt that he felt every bit of the swipe; his jaw was still locked from the shock. It was his secondary power that allowed him to withstand such attacks with ease. Not waiting another second after regaining his composure, Roy turned and ran from the monster. It followed closely behind without missing a step.

To the public, it may have seemed like a scared tactic. Only half of that was true. As he ran through the forest, the use of one of his arms would allow the champion to grab the sniper off of his back. Continuing his sprint would be the only means of which he could buy himself enough time to allow the scope of his gun to extend. Without his exoskeleton he would have been dead. Even though he was running with its assistance, the oversized lizard was catching up slowly but surely.

Reaching a tree he believed would be thick enough to utilize, Roy hopped up and extended his right leg onto the middle of the trunk. Then his left would be placed a couple of inches above it. The champion would then immediately leap off of the wood, bringing the scope of his gun up while his body arched backwards into a flip. The Shockliz had been closing in a few feet behind the champion and had even attempted to get a chunk out of his back. Unfortunately for the grotesque being, it would be greeted with a mouthful of splinters and bark after a near-hit.

Roy timed three shots, obviously with three separate pulls of the trigger. The first one had been aimed for the monster’s head, but missed. The bullet had been inched into the tree trunk a couple of inches above the monster’s head. When the second shot went off, the bullet lodged itself into one of the Shockliz’s front claws. The third bullet found itself careening into one of its back legs.

The monster was livid, bleeding from two separate extremities, which it would soon find injured to the point of being useless. Its teeth were still lunged inside the trunk of the tree and it was having a hard time getting itself free from Mother Nature’s clutches. Roy had landed on the heels of his feet after overextending his flip, causing him to lose balance and fall onto his behind. As he went down, he accidentally dropped his sniper beside him. Using both hands to alleviate all of the weight of his body being forced onto his ass, Roy took a moment to stare at the struggling Shockliz before him while sitting upon the ground.

After his right hand reached to grab his sniper, the champion stood up to his feet at his own leisure. Raising his free hand and placing it on the top of his face, Roy’s digits would end up massaging his forehead. The first shot, which he had taken, was off, so naturally the young man was not the happiest camper in the world. He took a deep breath before speaking into the microphone of his headset. All that Roy could do at this point was hope that it had not been fried as a result of the blow he had taken earlier.

“Hey, you. Are you okay?”

The champion did not get a response at first. He used two fingers to tap one of the cups belonging to his headphones – as if that would realistically make any difference.

“Would it make you feel better if I told you that there’s a big disgusting lizard waiting for you to use its face as a scratching post?”

Jameson Armstrong

Eastern Forest

It was as though he was walking through a no mans land. There was nothing, Nothing to offer him glory. Jameson continued his trek, without finding any of the beasts he was used to. The areas he'd traveled before, were empty. With a sigh, the large man stepped around a tree, making his way north. All in all, it was depressing. He came to a small clearing and stepped forward into it, the light in the clearing bouncing off his form, sending glorious glimmering of shining sparkles in all directions. Jameson instinctively flexed, his entire body rippling as his clothing tore itself away from him, the sparkling increased, and he struck several poses.

The Sparkling though, helped him catch wind of what was on it's way towards him. A massive worm like creature, was barreling towards him. His eyes flashed suddenly as the beast neared him, and he brought his armored left fist to bear, smashing it into the beasts head. Jameson felt the kinetic energy reverberate at the point of impact, and cease. He'd stopped the creatures advance with a single blow, barely even aided by his powers. He brought his right fist up beneath the creatures visual area, and smashed through to where his fists would connect. The creature would be in intense pain instantly. It thrashed about, attempting to smash him. But Jameson, being ever vigilant, and used to such tactics, raised his guard and dodged to the side.

"Is this the best you can do?" He asked redundantly. The creature would never be able to answer him, so his mocking gesture was pointless, but, it fed his own ego, so he asked anyways.

Jameson waited until the creature neared him again, and with a simple feint, slammed his right arm into the side of the beasts head, sending a reverberation of kinetic energy along the creatures body. His abilities were profoundly strong, even without the use of nectar, he was able to send the creature reeling from a simple muscle bound blow to it's frontal section. He spun and kicked the thing in the same location with a high cross strike, landing neatly in a boxers position.

"If I remember correctly, the creatures brain is further down, in the third segment... Lets end this." He muttered to himself as he waited until the thing recovered slightly and came at him again.

Armstrong's body twisted gracefully, as he pushed himself off the ground with a jump as the creature barreled past where he had been only a moment before. He landed carefully, gracefully on it's back and pushed forward, down it's length towards the third section of the creatures body. When he reached it, he clasped his fists together and brought them high over his head.

"And now I shall show you a technique passé down through the Armstrong family for Generations! Armstrong Crusher!!" He shouted as he brought his fists down.

The impacting blow didn't even need to be amplified, his tremendous strength with the barrier around his body, and the sharpness of his gauntlets enabled his blow to not only pierce the creatures hide, but cause enough significant trauma to it's brain that the thing fell apart in a twitching mess. Jameson stood atop it's corpse, and clenched his hands opened and closed, staring at it.

"Well, that was a good warm up. Now where's your mother so we can really get this show on the road." He asked the dying beast quietly.

He turned towards the woods and jumped off the thing, continuing his trek into the depths of the woods, back on his route north.

Katherine "Kat" Ariat

Kat quickly and calmly reloaded her pistols as she watched her partner take a few more down. As soon as he finished, the auburn-haired male leaned on a still standing tree and generously allowed her to claim the left overs, while provokingly referring to her as 'princess'. "Princess?!" She lifted and eye brow and cocked her head back,"I am not a princess!" She stomped her right foot and put both hands on her hips, narrowing her eyes at Sun with a small pout that pursed her lips. The iseags growled as they turned to look at her. As if the dark creatures understood Sun explain it was the Shadowcat's turn to have a go, they instantly turned their attention toward her. Her eyes moved from her snarky partner to the enemies slowly coming to her with barred teeth. Her usual playful grin faded as she grew serious. Like the pack animals that they are, two of the three started to encircle her on each side, while the third stood infront, if it had visible eyes it would definately be locked on its petite target. Kat didnt worry about her targets on the sides, along with intangibility, the Ghost's secondary power, was always activated, always working. It was just a matter of focus.

The new and inexperienced Champion's power was the ability go sense even the smallest of vibrations. Whether it was in the ground, or vibrations in the air, if she focused hard enough she could feel it all. As the two other iseags passed her peripheral vision both on the left and the right, she still had nothing to fear. With each silent and slow step, they sent a vibration into the ground, that rippled and found its way into her body. Making her completely aware of where they were and how they were moving. There was a sudden stillness, a "calm before the storm" if you will.

The little "princess" politely waited for their first move. Which they took with out hesitation. In a quick second, the iseag that was face-to-face with her, pushed on it hind legs to attempt a lunge with an open mouth at the girl. Kat instantly threw herself to the left and rolled on the ground while the first iseag snapped its mouth, missing her entirely and landing back on the ground. The iseag that was to her left, was now on her right as she popped up and landed on one knee. Taking it by surprise, she took one of the pitols in her hand threw it. With the momentum and gravity of the spinning motion it made in the air, a blade slid out from a crevice just under the barrel, and extended about five inches out from the end of the gun. The blade prisicely hit the animal square In the side of the face, and the beast let out a distressed yelp before it fell to its side, clawing and pawing at its head, trying to get the blade out.

'One down~!' Katherine took a mental note, a sly smirk creeping on her face. The other two snarled at her from the sight of their kin struggle to its death. Her head whipped to look at the two, green bangs swinging in her face with a pink tongue sticking out as she confidently sneered at her opponents. The first that tried to lunge appeared to be the bravest as it tried once more. Kat stood up and took a step back, the leaf covered forest floor, caused her to slip and fall right on her butt,"Ow!" She bit her lip as the sudden burst of pain hit her tail bone and traveled up her spine. She gasped with green eyes wide open as she saw that the iseag was not about to give up and continued to charge at her, its bacteria infested saliva freckling the path it ran with each bound. "No no no no!" she scuffled back wards on her feet, bum, and palms as fast as she could and breathing heavily with fear. As she saw it wasnt doing justice for an escape, she quickly turned and pushed herself off the ground, a foot slipping before she changed herself atomically and became intangible, dissappearing through a tree and reappearing behind it. THUD! The iseag was too close on her tail and slammed its snout into the trunk. Having no eyes didnt help either. On the other side, the Ghost tripped and fell on the floor, chest first and covered in dirt."Ugh!" She groaned when she hit the ground. She panted as she thought about how close she was to being shredded by the razor teeth of an iseag. But now was not the time, she casted aside the thought at the shake of her head. On the otherside of the tree, the iseag winced and whined as its faced crashed into the unforgiving tree trunk. The iseag also shook its head, trying to collect itself together again. The small girl took this chance and ran out from behind the tree, panting, and appearing as just a blur of green and black. She skidded as she stopped back at the clearing with the two iseags. Her eyes darted between the two, trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Neither looked like they were going to make move soon so she took the opportunity. Raising her pistol, she aimed at the least confident animal, who hadnt really made a move yet. The trigger was pulled, the hammer launched the bullet, and the distinct sound of a gun shot resounded. The bullet hit the second iseag and pierced the head from front to back. 'Thats two!' she looked back to the bravest who seemed more pissed off then ever. She scoffed and smiled at it,"Sorry for killin' your buddies." She could have shot and killed this one too, but it being the one that gave her a run for her money just a few moments before, she wanted to have fun. Without sparing another moment, Kat ran to the first dead body of the iseag with a bladed pistol lodged in its head where she would assume an eyesocket would be. With a small hand on its back, and carefully avoiding the spines that trailed it, she did a one-handed cartwheel over it, the last living iseag following closely behind. She landed on her feet gracefully and seemingly with no effort. With the dead body now infront of her, and the charging beast infront of that the adrenaline in the young female's body was just going crazy. Now standing on the dead body, the living iseag clawed at Kat. He managed to reach far enough to scratch her arm through her suit, making a gash. She winced and grabbed the wound with her free hand. The iseag jumped off the body and the Shadowcat jumped back and ran back to the other side, away from it. Some blood ran down her arm and dripped onto the floor. She knew that iseags were known for having no eyesight, hence the reason she can run and jump away from them, but now that the scent of blood was in the air, she would really have to be on her toes. She gritted her teeth and glared at the monster,"How...dare you!". The iseag sniffed the air silently and quickly became aroused with the scent, thrashing its head from side to side and shuffling impatiently. The Ghost-girl raised her pistol with the wounded arm and shot a couple times at the beast. The pain was distracting and caused her aim to slip. The bullets merely grazing at his sides. If it wasnt already mad before, it was furious now. The iseag let go of a loud and raspy roar. Again it charged and this time Kat was ready, she ran behind her and kept her eye on a bush betweek two trees. Once close enough she threw her self down on the ground and slid with her hands scrapping along the dirt. She slid a little ways under the bush, and unlike this time, the iseag didnt fall for the same trick. He stopped on a dime, sending some dust into the air. He sniffed the bush, trying to keep its trace on Kat but the scent of the bush threw it off. However, it didnt take too long before he smelled her back there. A low grumble bubbled from his throat but was quickly cut off by a loud,"HA!" from Kat. She jumped into the air, the blade of her last pistol sticking out and ready. As she was heading back toward the ground, she held the blade with both hands above her head, and hammered it down right at the top of the iseag's skull. With her weight pushing down on the iseag's head, he collapsed with the forceful blow and layed motionless in a plume of dust.

Kat blinked when it stopped moving. She took a deep breath and sighed,"Finally!" She threw her hands in the air and stumbled backwards lazily. Katherine collected her weapons and skipped back to Sun and asked excitedly,"How was that?" She blinked her big round eyes innocently with her hands behind her back.

'Very nice princess... You handled it pretty well." Sun chuckled, and looked slightly conflicted. He was debating in his head on whether or not to go searching for more beasts, or simply to wait it out. After all, they did get about 3-4 kills each, which is pretty decent considering it was the first hunt of the season. He reloads his pistols, and then bends nearby light into a solidified rope, tying different knots while debating with his internal struggle. He sighs, and then throws the rope at a nearby bush, the bush then catching on fire. What to do... What to do...

Katherine "Kat" Ariat

Kat crossed her arms and pouted again upon being called princess once more, but quickly brushed it off and replaced the pout with a smile,"If im a princess then you have to do as i say." She pointed to her chest with her thumb, her eyes were closed and her chest was puffed with confidence. She lifted an eye lid to peek at his reaction, but when she looked to see his reaction he was already preoccupied with somethinng else,"Mmmm...." She groaned. Her short legs jogged a little ways to catch up with him,"So!" She followed closely behind. Her eyes looked around at the trees and everything else around them,"Whats next, hm?" She jogged a little more to walk by his side but she turned her body to face the opposite way. She walked backward,"We gonna kill some more stuff?" Kat's eyes were beaming with eagerness. He had finished reloading his pistols, and that sight sparked a reminder she should do the same. "Oh yea!" She did the same with her guns. Kat glanced up at Sun and took a double take,"Whatre you--..?" She lifted an eye brow when he was doing something light. She watched intently as he tied knots. She got closer to him and looked up at his face,"Hello?" He was clearly deep in thought. Kat's mouth tilted to the side,'I wonder what hes thinking about,' she thought to herself before realizing she was staring. She blinked and looked away. Her arms were raised to put her hands to hold the back if her head,"Well what ever it is youre doing, you--What the hell?!" She felt a sudden heat from a bush fire when Sun threw the rope into a forest bush. She jumped behind him and peeked at the ball of fire from there and whispered,"Are you a pyromaniac?" Her head turned upward to look at him from her height.

Strange Mutations

@Kazanna

North of Arcadia where the forest thins to the mountain a earth shaking rumble is felt. The ground cracks and starts to sink. A thunderous roar can be head deep with int the earth before an unusually large Lumbri. The massive creature has an overall length of 30 ft, weight 1400 lbs, nearly double the size of a normal one. It also has additional strange tentacles growing out of its side along with various sharp spines. The skin is thicker and tougher.

(Have Fun!)

Redd Shotokhan

Outside of Arcadia's walls, Far Side of the Planes (Opposite of the lake), Surrounded by Forests, Shadow of the Mountains

Redd cared for the delicate flame he had created with a bizarre 'kindness' in his eyes. To the audience, he seemed like a red demon that was coveting over the fires of hell. Slowly, Redd placed small twigs in a 'tent' shape and scattered dried leaves and pine-needles into the belly of the fire. He had created a little fire pit with flat rocks he had found scattered about and made sure that the 'walls' surrounding the fire were ramped with bloody soil so as to misdirect any strong winds that blew over the young embers did so harmlessly. After several more minutes, he had extended the pit into a long carved area, laying heavy logs along the 'ramps' of earth as if he was making a wooden floor. He left the ends of each side of this 'floor' open as to allow some air to circulate through it so the fire would spread to this upper layer.

Once the fire was ready, he took one of the Uaccam that was still in fairly decent condition (save for a broken neck), and after gutting it, skewered it with one of the branches. Redd used several other branches to create a crisscross scaffolding to hold the weight of the mutant bison. Each of these branches were the size of small trees; saplings. The bark of each limb was covered in the bloody, muddy, earth so that the dirt would cling to the bark and prevent the fire from burning it to cinders. The blood, of course, would burn, but the earth would remain intact. And so with his makeshift fire-spit complete, he huffed out an exhale of air, lifted the bison, and placed it on the wooden rack. He even used the 'dull' ends of his gauntlet's fingertips to carve off each leg, doing so with a well placed downwards chop.

He even took one of the legs and stripped it of its meat, punching and chopping the muscles until it splintered and came free of its connective tissue. His own gauntlet being used as a tenderizer to pound the meat into a malleable substance. And once he was finished, he had pressed the beef into several patties and lowered them onto the flames to seer over. It was quite surprising that a man of such ferocious attacks to decimate an entire herd of creatures had enough finesse to craft racks, grilling spatulas, and even tend to a complicated fire. It was almost as if he was perfectly situated to living in these kinds of harsh environments. But Redd does not seem to be having 'fun' in his little camp. His face is as stern and focused as ever. He knew that if he let his guard down, he could meet his untimely end with just a single well-placed pounce by some lucky predator.

And so he sad there with three legs on the open flame while he slowly rotated one end of the rack to cause the Uaccam to turn, ensuring all sides of it was getting cooked. It would take a while, of course, for the main gutted torso to cook all the way through. But he knew that the tree's sap that was bubbling inside would let out plenty of mouth-watering sugars. And the meat would even get a somewhat decent caramelization as the sugars dripped along its' inner surface. While one of his hands rotated the Uaccam, the other used the wooden make-shift spatula to flip the burgers.

The result of this endeavor was as he had hoped. The smell of cooked beef wafted through the air and sat heavily on the nose of anyone or anything within a one mile radius of his camp. If other champions came, he would no doubt offer them some of his own spoils. But what he really wanted was that predator. He wanted the creature that would make an attempt on his life. And above all, he wanted a chance to show just what the Mu No Ken school is made of. And so far, there were no creatures brave enough to challenge him for this meal, leaving him with the only option he had left... To wait.

Jameson Armstrong

Deep in the Eastern Woods, Heading: North by North-East.

The seismic rumble of the earth itself sounded the intense size of the creature that lay beneath the surface of the earth. It was a slow, rolling feeling, as though there was a beast larger then should have been. Jameson shifted his course slightly, he came to a stop, and pressed down on the plunger of the vial that was already inserted into his gauntlet, injecting the first full dose of Nectar into his veins. It was like a wildfire around him, within him, throughout him. He took deep breaths and let it flood his systems. He began counting the seconds until the substance would hit him fully as he began running towards the location of the creature.

As Armstrong barreled along, his kinetic barrier began to become sharper, he ceased his avoidance of the landscape around him, and the foliage and fauna began to part around him, or was disintegrated as he used his kinetic barrier to create a cone of energy in front of him, expanded out from his body. Ahead of him, for a moment, was a large oak tree. He used the kinetic energy of his forward travel to slam into the tree, the massive structure shook and collapsed in a vortex, it's bark, and much of the wood stripping away as the remainder of the wood super condensed into a shaft comparable with steel. His kinetic barrier extended out to this new weapon, as the head of it form into a most effect spiked hammer. Jameson continued to tear through the underbrush until he came to the heart of the seismic activity, a massive sinkhole in the depths of the forest.

He stood at it's edge, and tapped his foot against the ground, sending a seismic tremor through the ground, it bounced off of various objects and finally, it showed him what he wanted to see with the sudo-radar he had developed. He felt the Nectar rising through his veins, his abilities rising with the oncoming effects of the drug. He gazed into the pit and examined what lay beneath. The creature was titanic, it was far beyond what he had encountered earlier, but a similar species.

Jameson hefted the wooden hammer in his hands and spun it around, then sank the base of it's handle into the ground beside him. He pulled his right fist back, and muttered, "Best send out a flare, this could be messy, I'd rather not go out like dad."

Jameson felt the Nectar's effects through his entire system, he shot his fist skyward, and an instant later, as his fist came to a stop, there was a sonic disturbance in the air around him. His blow to the air had created a sonic boom, a puff of white mist gathered over the sink hole from the sonic disturbance, which would act as a flare to all other hunters in the area. Jameson wasn't going to wait for them, but he wasn't going to leap in without letting them know his location.

He manipulated the kinetic energy in his hands, and then took up the hammer again, it rose from the ground with a large head on the handle end, it was now a dual headed weapon. Jameson let his kinetic energy bounce down the shaft of the weapon, and with a great deal of concentration, condensed the stone that was now fixed to the weapons head. The kinetic energy let out a shriek and the weapon began to smoke as the stone and wood fused together under his power. He hefted the tool, and took several steps back, then, with a leaping bound forward, he rose up into the air.

"And now for another technique passed down the Armstrong family for Generations!" He shouted aloud as he neared the peak of his ascent, "Armstrong Hammerblow!" He took the hammer in both hands, and manipulated the kinetic energy in his body to travel to the stone end of the hammer, reinforcing the handle while he kept his body safely reinforced against the soon to be overwhelming near tidal forces that were about to rip into his body's shield. He shot down into the sinkhole, faster then the normal rate of travel allowed a human body to fall through the air. The hammer's head was vibrating as he shot down into the sinkhole, created by the creature at it's base.

Armstrong's attack against the earth itself would cause a seismic tremor that would be felt across the land for several miles. All of the hunters in the area would feel it, and even if they didn't know what it was, they would know where it had come from. The ground around the surround trees and plant life would bounce from the impact, like something out of an old cartoon, they would bump into the air and then touch back down, slightly askew.

Jameson Armstrong stood tall at the bottom of the pit, holding the trembling hammer in his firm grip, staring at the ground at his feet, which was now glass like and flat from the kinetic overwash he had left on the ground. He slowly raised his gaze, the Nectar had taken it's hold on him as he stared at the moving walls around him. The massive worm creature coiled around him on the walls, like an overly large snake. He gazed at it, and stated "What a Glorious Battle this shall be!" He brought his hammer to bear, and shot forward, like a bullet from a gun, "I am Jameson Strong Arm Armstrong! You will know fear before this battle is done beast!!" He shouted as he swung his hammer in a forward arc from the side, kinetic energy coiling in the weapons head until it hummed with vicious power.

Elisa sat quietly, eating an apple she had gotten off a nearby tree. Hunting always made her hungry and the apples were fresh. It was a nice day she decided. The sun was out. The bloodbirds were singing as they worked. The mountains looked majestic over the horizon and the air smelled of monster blood. She finished the apple as she rose from her luchbildge seat. Her little winged friends were eating her kill, not that she minded they did a lot of the work, and were making happy little squish sounds. After a few more minutes she stood up and climbed the tree again. Time for more blood! She thought happily as she jumped from branch to branch. The birds followed, hoping for more prey. As she flew from tree to tree the girl bared her teeth. She smelled Capra. She hated Capras. Capras would die today. After landing on a tree she saw the pack. Five of them grunting and howling, stomping around as they did. The four of them would need to be separated if she was going to cut them open though. Luckily one of her birds landed right by her. She turned and patted its head. It was beaky. He was the lead bird of his little flock and probably her best little bird buddy. It helped that he could rip the throats out of monsters several times bigger then himself. She patted his head affectionately Remember when we met? I want you to do that. The bird squawked and dived at the lead Capra. Beaky skillfully floated by the huge creatures and ripped one of their eyes out with a talon, barely escaping by a hair. The creature roared and anger and thundered off after him into the forest leaving his smaller herd members to chase after. The bird had led them down a small game trail that was choked with greenery and rocks. Perfect. She jumped above them until they were moving nice and fast. She sharpened her claws and and landed on the smallest one, who was trailing behind the others. It howled in pain at the impact the screamed as she slit it's throat open. The creature crashed slowly, collapsing to the ground and slid a few feet. But Elisa was already off its back and running. The next Capra was just a few feet ahead of her after a minute of hard sprinting. She decided to have a little fun with her jump pack. With a grin she flipped over and activated the pack with a raise of her arms. She flew under the beast and her extended claws cut it open from tail to throat. Flipping over onto all fours after barely escaping from under the beasts massive head. The next creature she decided to have some fun with. She ran again getting into range and shot her grapples at it. The line hit it and impaled itself in the Capras back. She retracted it and landed right on top of the beat, and with a couple skilful ties she made some reins to loop around its neck. Thus secured she focused on the creature and sent it a mental compulsion FASTER. And it obeyed. It began to lope ever faster and after several moments of hard riding she approached the big one eye. RAM IT. She compulsed and after struggling for a moment it obeyed. It rammed the bigger capra and crashed itself. As the two reeled she jumped and landed on the one eye, cutting its other eye out. The beast roared and charged out of instinct crushing her little servant. She grinned and landed by its side and left long bloody claw marks on its side. The creature turned and roared at her allowing her one little pleasure. She took on some bear genes and grabbed its jaws. It made a little awk- sound and she grinned. "This is going to be awesome." She braced herself and ripped the top of its head from its body. The beast fell and she laughed long and wild as she felt its blood spray on her. Truly a good hunt.

Madison "Frost" Green

Arcadian Outskirts, Northern Zone, Near Mountains

Madison stumbled on the Buta corpses, strewn about on the canopy floor. Obviously she wasn't the only hunter in the area. She found that most were dead on a simple inspection, but there was one still breathing near the middle of the now deceased pack. "There there." She said, smiling. Despite the horror these things caused mankind, they still deserved at least a little mercy.

After another second of hearing the creature's raspy breathing, Madison held its head between her hands and watched the line glow as her powers became more active. She felt the creature's body cool faster and faster as she slowly replaced heat with cold. It began rapidly shaking for a moment and then... Nothing. It was gone. With no reason to stay, Madison began running toward the mountain, wanting to get as close to it as possible before thirty minutes passed.

Before moving even 30 meters, Madison felt the ground shake as a terrifying roar filled the air. She stood her ground as the roar faded from the air, not wanting to risk moving and alerting the creature of her presence. Seconds later, she watched as some sort of blast fill the sky, close to the mountains. Someone needed help, it seemed.

Without wasting a moment to think about the risks, Madison ran toward the flare and the beast, hoping she wasn't too late. She wasn't going to let the creature claim a victim so long as she lived.

Jekyll Wilson

Northern Section, Arcadian Mountains Peak

Jekyll grinned as he looked up the Arcadian Mountains, the mass spire of rock seeming to shoot up in the sky with no middle ground to speak of. Well, it was like that in the direction Jekyll was coming at it too. In all honesty, he had purposely done it this way, the harder way, because getting up such a steep mountain edge was fun and exciting. He had done this hundreds of times before, the mountains being his main go to place for fighting and killing monsters, and he was completely ready to go up there kick some Capra tail.

Looking up, Jekyll smirked as he saw the tiny little outcropping of stone, in which a lone thick tree stood gallantly in the air, taking up space with its large green plumage and magnificent brown bark that really gave credence to the importance of such an opportune obstacle. While others would find such an outcropping a hindrance to climbing speed, Jekyll saw it as an easy way up, and he was going to ride it most of, if not all, the way of the up the mountain. In style. Throwing his hands down, their length extending as he loosened the density in which they were held, Jekyll, waited for them to touch the first tip of a blade of grass, before throwing them up and into the sky, towards the branch.

The rubber limbs easy wrapped around the branch with his subtle manipulations, the tree creaking in response, but Jekyll gave no worry to the possibility to the branch or tree breaking He had done this hundreds of times with this exact tree, and he had never garnered anything lesser than positive results when using it. This time would most certainly be no different. The tension finally acting on Jekyll, he shot through the air, and around the entirety of the branch, his body speeding like a missile through the air.

Letting go of the now hampering tree branch, Jekyll felt his rubber skin start to stiffen up as the cold air of the increased altitude began to act on him. Anton paid it no mind, and instead started to flex his individual muscles as much as he could while flying through the air, the momentum and air resistance keeping him from extending any limbs completely in any direction. Eclipsing the harsher, steep part of the mountain, Jekyll's eyes lit up as he saw the multiple figures spread around the mountain from his high vantage point. One in particular caught his eye. A certain large, muscular beast that belonged to the species known as Capra.

Jekyll's eyes gained a devilish light to them as his body started to slow down, before rapidly descending towards the mountain's more walkable land. Throwing back his hands much farther now, Jekyll let them what seemed like far enough before letting them shoot off towards the Capra. Having spotted him at this point, the Capra was about to call out to others around it, few would answer the call of help, when Jekyll's hands tackled into his shoulders, their skin dense as they grappled deep into the skin of the lone Capra. Managing out a weak call that would only get the attention of one or two others, the Capra was pulled into the air slightly as Jekyll used it as a grounding point to pull himself towards. As Jekyll neared the quickly approaching Capra, he angled his into a flip, using the Capra as a pushing point, as his foot extended and hardened, the appendage only extending a bit as Jekyll kept it from flying everywhere.

Listening to his instinct honed by years of Hunting, Jekyll quickly extended the leg as he finished the midair flip, his foot landing harshly on the head of the Capra, sending it plummeting through the air, its head slightly cracked, but otherwise fine. However, as Jekyll pushed through with the attack, the Capra landed harshly onto the mountain floor, cracking some of its bones, before the full force of the dense kick slammed into the crack that had formed. Smashing the head and its contents altogether, the Capra collapsed onto the ground to its left as Jekyll landed on the ground, his rubberized lower body protecting him from the dangerous recoil of landing on such harsh ground.

Landing safely, Jekyll scratched his head with a satisfied smile on his lips, happy that he had beat down his first Capra. Hearing a roar in the sky, and the ground shaking a little bit, Jekyll looked around with widened eyes, but shrugged, letting it pass him by. It wasn't really his problem, and he was sure others would be able to deal with. Looking around, Jekyll looked out with an observant eye for more Capras. Those big bugger were about face the wrath of a rubber man.
