A lone radio tower projects words of excitement through the air, catching the attention of all who tune in. “GOOOOOOOOD MORNING LADIES AND LADDIES, AND THANK YOU FOR TUNING IN TO THE HOVEL ON THE HILL, THE ONLY STATION PROVIDING YOU NONSTOP JAMS SINCE THE DAWN OF IZENRA. I AM YOUR HOST VOLA-VIOLA, AND GET READY FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT I KNOW MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!”
Listeners lean closer to their devices, some looking to each other excitedly, having kept track of the date.
“As you all know, this itty-bitty neighborhood of ours was home to an itty-bitty tyrant that threatened to take away the big big things that make us special. And they tried to do this through Cuffs, Chains, and things that fry your brains.”
The station failed to hide the embarrassment in her tone after saying that.
“Now today is special, cause FOURTEEN YEARS AGO TODAY was the day that the girl we all know and love as Ginger Jay Drillbit began her campaign against the Big Bad Mister Byomba, leading us all into the new age of living!"
"Now, it’s common knowledge that the size of this group of rebels were always… small. And we gotta do a lot to make sure this town stays safe and none of those die hard Byomba wannabes try to yank your friends out of town to do bad things with ‘em. So to make sure we can do our job better…”
She begins to drum what could only be assumed to be the microphone she’s talking into, and after a few seconds of suspense, she hits it one last time and shouts.
“WE WANT YOU TO COME ON OVER TO THE RADIO TOWER AND SHOW US YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE CREW!”
The city is alive, now with various listeners rushing, rolling, or flying to the center of the city, where the previously mentioned revolution began and ended. Everyone is excited, some go to join, some go to view the spectacles of battle. Those who haven’t abandoned their radios to rush to Izenra Central hear some more from the host, Viola, as if she were directly speaking to them.
“I know today’s a big day. And yeah, there’s gonna be a lot of people who show up to join and get let down… I used to be one of those people and- not to brag- but like, look where I am now, yeah? Sometimes, you gotta go for it, even if you ‘know’ you won’t make it the first time. Remember, we need you, the city needs you."
"ahem … SO COME ON UP TO THE RADIO TOWER IN THE CENTER OF THE CITY AND SHOW US THAT YOU’RE UP TO SNUFF. THANK YOU TO ALL THAT ARE COMING, AND WELCOME!"
"Welcome, to the Peril Party”
