I am continually shocked Gaia hasn’t died already. It’s like some unkillable zombie.

But yeah even in its heyday Gaia was a toxic hellscape full of pervs and Karen’s.

You could find some decent people every now and again but your ratio is gonna be way better on RPN.

Although, no disrespect to RPN.
You will find toxic people wherever you go. Even here.

I enjoy both sites functionality though. So it was a hard choice but there it is.

Although, just to add. I don't even know if this thread is against the rules because some places you can't promote other sites.
So I'm not promoting gaiaonline. I just prefer it.

i can't stand gaia and yet i still hop on pretty frequently and try my hand at getting those sweet pixelated outfits for my cute little character... i've definitely met some nice people there, but also some HORRIBLY nasty ones as well. it's unfortunate because that used to be one of my favorite places to write back in the day.

Yeah, I mean I have to agree on that. Although, I've had my fair share of trouble here on RPN too. In the grand scheme of things, I've had more negative experiences on RPN then gaia online. Though this is purely my experiences. Those two factors like you said are people based. I really like the way gaia online is laid out a bit better. It's simpler. It's a bit more fun with the avis.

I don't really roleplay on either, I pretty much just come to RPN to talk shop, but RPN if only because Gaia's forum tech is dreadfully ancient, and because Gaia has a bunch of ads, which at one point had malware hijacking the browser tab, so that pretty much killed my interest in logging in again.

The roleplays I've seen on here are pretty much the same as the ones I've seen on Gaia during its heyday, just maybe with a little bit more maturity to fit the demographic aging. The avatars on Gaia are pretty fun, but it wasn't a huge draw for me either.
