We can say Raijin as shockwave screwed up the crossbow bolt accidentally.

We could, though, if Marcus IS with the group, having him stop the crossbow bolt and fight Tannur to defend Roland while he does his thing would give us a Tannur/Marcus fight to round out all the character battles.

I think the shockwave would place Tannur into a position where he would be forced to directly fight Marcus. The wave messes up the bolt and drops Tanner's invis so that Marcus can target him
