  Batman is a dark and brooding hero with a personal vendetta against crime and injustice. Psychologically traumatized by the death of his parents. He is extremely pessimistic and suspicious, which often makes it difficult for him to trust people other than Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, the Robins or the Batgirls. Despite this, Batman has proved to have a great love for humanity, which was instilled by his parents. He refrains from killing, as he feels this would not make him any better than the criminals he fights.
  
  
  To protect his secret identity, Batman has constructed a fake persona he can use in his civilian identity. To the world at large, Bruce Wayne is a self-absorbed, irresponsible playboy and philanthropist. Only his closest allies know that this attitude is just an act to fool the media and the outside world. Batman is very protective of his identity.
  
  
  
• History
  
  As a young boy, Bruce always feared bats. He grew up and was taken care of by his loving parents, and was taught to respect and love all human beings, and that all life is holy. It was seen that just like his mother; Bruce was a christian when he was young, seen praying at one point. One time, when he and his parents visited the opera house. Bruce saw some performers who were dressed up as bats, and feared them, wanting and urging his parents to let him leave the opera. And so they did.
  
  
  A mugger came into the dark alley that the Waynes left through, and shot Bruce's parents on his eyes, taking their valuables. Bruce was trauamtized and swore revenge. He promised that he would stop all crime and never let such things happen again, and some time later; started training to become Batman. Using Wayne Enterprises and his training, choosing what he feared in his childhood to be his symbol; he became Batman.
  
  
  
• Equipment
  
  • Bat-Suit: Batman's costume is composed of Kevlar and a small percentage of titanium; it is bullet-proof and resistant to most forms of attack (explosions, blunt trauma, falls, etc.) It is also flame-retardant and insulated. The gloves and the boots are reinforced to nullify the impact of punches and kicks. Batman's gauntlets have retractable metallic blades on their sides. The cape is extremely light and can be used to glide long distances. The cowl is composed in small part by lead, which shields Batman's face from identification via x-rays. It has also an infrared viewer and auditory sensors and a special vision mode known as the 'detective mode' which allows Batman to see items of interest through walls and scan his surroundings clues and investigate different crimes, easily solving them. On top of that; the Detective mode allows him to see thugs and other things through walls, making it a good way to plan out his moves. The cowl is outfitted with security systems (aggravating gas, electric blasts, etc.) like the utility belt. The suit is implanted with communication devices, as well as a scanner, analyzer and is connected to the batcomputer, allowing for analyzing substances, data and people.
    
    Utility Belt: It is an extremely potent and effective tool for holding all of Batman's gadgets and equipment. Despite a relatively small size, it is a master-crafted gadget, capable of housing his other gadgets within easily.
    
    Utility Belt Taser: In desperate scenarios, Batman’s utility belt turns into a weapon itself. When someone other than the Dark Knight attempts to look through his belt to find out his secrets, a strong electrical charge is sent through it that will render an opponent temporarily unconscious. This is one of the reasons that his enemies can’t simply snatch his belt off from behind.

  [*]Batplane\Batwing: A fast-moving aircraft that Batman uses as an alternative to the Batmobile, or to move long distances. It is equipped with lots of gadgets similar to the Batmobile's, and is a hybrid fighter jet and helicopter. It can deliver equipment straight to Batman's location by using drop pods, if he needs any.
  
  
  [*]Batarangs: Throwing weapons relating to that of either boomarangs or shurikens in the shape of a bat. These can be used for many things such as cutting, immobilizing, etc.
  
  
  • Remote-controlled: Is a special batarang that can be remotely controlled through Batman's suit, and can slow down, speed up and make turns during flight, like a small airplane. Much more precise, but harder to use than the normal batarangs.
    
  • Razor Sharp: Razor Sharp batarangs can go up to several inches into soft targets. They are extremely fast, dangerous and have more cutting powers than the normal Batarangs.
    
  • Sonic: These batarangs generate sound. They are used by Batman to attract the attention of thugs, and use them as decoys, or baits.
    
  • Electric: This type of batarang releases a powerful electric charge upon impact.
    
  • Explosive: An explosive batarang that emits a dangerous expolsion upon impacting any surface. It's dangerous to use against normal people, and Batman usually uses it to cause explosions from a distance.
    
  • Bat-Rope: Batman has used batarangs with ropes which are used to scale tall buildings or tangle foes.
    
  • Magnet: Just as it sounds; this batarang attracts and is attracted to metal.

Bruce Wayne, since the age of 15, has created a strict diet to enable his body to develop and operate at its most proficient, along with biofeedback treatments (using portable/non portable machines to stimulate muscles to contraction). Batman being able to perform amazing physical feats is due to his superior physique. He engaged in an intensive regular regimen of rigorous exercise (including aerobics, weight lifting, gymnastics, and simulated combat) to keep himself in peak condition, and has often defeated opponents whose size, strength, or other powers greatly exceeded his own. He has spent his entire life in pursuit of physical perfection and has attained it through constant intensive training and determination.
    
  • Peak Human Strength: He can break steel chains and cuffs, support a ceiling that weighed over 1000lbs, bent steel metal bars with his hands. Batman even punched a SWAT officer through a brick wall. During his exercise regimes, Batman regularly bench-presses at least 1000Ibs.

  The Joker claims to not be insane, but rather "just ahead of the curve". This proves to be at least partially true, as the Joker is extremely calculating, cunning, and a competent strategist. Being able to plan out the events of The Dark Knightand also improvise when needed shows a high level of intellect and knowledge. Joker also seemed to be knowledgeable in psychology and people's weaknesses and motivations. He had no problems getting underneath people's skin, and could easily manipulate people into corruption. In addition to this, he was also skilled at appealing to mentally unstable people (whom he used as free help and for sections of his plans that required expendable assets), manipulating them with promises that he would make their mental problems go away. For example, when he planted a bomb inside the stomach of one of his gang members, he told him he would "make the voices go away and replace them with bright lights, like Christmas" ('bright lights' being a metaphor for the bomb Joker buried in his goon's stomach). This extreme scenario of cruelty, sadism, and precision proves that this Joker is more in the realm of a psychopath/sociopath than insanity as he is neither delusional nor has he lost his grip on reality. He also seemed to have some awareness about his lacking a sense of humor, as when arriving at the mob summit and seeing their plan was a bad idea, he mentioned "and I thought my jokes were bad."
  
  
  
• History
  
  No one knows who the Joker really is. Little can be confirmed regarding his early life before he turned to a life of crime. Despite his capture, no traces could be found on his fingerprints, dental records, or DNA matches against the GCPD's databases.
  
  
  The Joker's own testimony, while normally quite true when it came to carrying out threats, seemed at times contradictory, and he was known to give conflicting accounts at times when describing past events in his life, more specifically how he got the scars of his characteristic Glasgow smile. One of his anecdotes told of his supposed extremely abusive and alcoholic father, stating that after attacking his mother with a knife, the blade was next turned on the young man, creating his mutilated smile. The fact that the Joker later referenced his father and his hatred of him to a party guest while crashing Harvey Dent's party implies there is an element of truth to this account. Another story he told was when his gambling wife told him not to worry so much and that he should smile more. This advice went overhead when she allowed her face to be carved by enforcers of loan sharks, and the couple discovered that they didn't have enough money to pay for surgery. In a desperate effort to assure his wife that he did not care about the damage to her appearance, he took a razor to his cheeks to make his Glasgow smile match hers, but the disturbing image instead caused his wife to leave him, damaging his psyche. It is not revealed to what degree these stories hold truth, if any. It is possible that the Joker himself is unaware of his true origins. Some psychological profiles of The Joker, indicate that he is insane to such an extent that he literally reinvents both his own psyche and history on a daily basis. It is therefore possible that, while neither story is true, he genuinely believed them both as he told them.
  
  
  In a report filed by the GCPD, there were three theories presented for the Joker's origin and identity. The first was that the Joker was institutionalized as a patient at Arkham Asylum who got released when his scars were almost healed or escaped during Ra's al Ghul's and the scarefrow's reign of fear with all the other patients at the time in an even worse condition (perhaps due to Scarecrow's terrible methods), explaining why most of his thugs were identified as some of the Arkham escapees. However, this theory is debunked on the basis that his identity has no basis within any records. The second theory was that the Joker worked as a disgruntled employee or attraction the Haley Brothers Circus, which was documented to have connections with the mob, explaining the clown makeup he always wears for his persona.   • Joker Venom - There are two versions
    
    Lethal Version - Contact with Joker venom causes uncontrollable spasms of laughter, followed by a painful death. Some have speculated that the venom hyperstimulates the laughter functions of the brain, leaving the victim unable to breathe. It is also possible that this drug contains the tetnus toxoid responsable for lock jaw. Patients often exibit a grotesque grinning expression called "Risus Sardonicus" due to spasms of the facial muscles

  The Joker in The Dark Knight is a genius at planning and improvising criminal activities. He is incredibly intelligent and calculating, always staying one step ahead of everyone else, including Batman and the police. His unique (if rather disturbed) worldview, as well as the complete mystery surrounding his identity also give him something of an edge. Having no connections, friends, former identities or family to be traced back to makes him very difficult to predict, track down, or even understand. He is also shown to be a fearless, and unpredictable fighter, taking on mob henchmen and cops with ease, and showing how he can be lethal with many forms of weaponry such as shotguns, RPG's, machine pistols, handguns, explosives, and knives. While he has used guns on many occasions, the Joker expresses his preference for knives because "guns are too quick".
  
  
  The Joker was even capable of holding his own against Batman and trapping him near the climax of the film (although he had assistance on both occasions when fighting Batman). One explanation for his fighting skills might have to do with his psychotic personality: the Joker doesn't really fear physical damage to himself like a normal person would, and even when brutally injured, Joker would laugh at his own pain. His casual insensitivity to pain, and his extreme fearlessness, lets him take risks that a normal person wouldn't even attempt, and so most people just don't see his attacks coming, i.e. walking into a room full of mobsters and casually using a 'magic trick' to impale a pencil into one of their heads. The Joker's obliviousness to danger makes him invulnerable to what is usually Batman's greatest weapon in combat: his ability to frighten low-level thugs.

Backstory: Lyra lived with her wealthy parents, and led a happy life until she reached the age of sixteen. It was then she found out that her parents' company wasn't so righteous. She didn't approve, but didn't act. A few months before she reached seventeen, her parents were killed in an explosion in their company's factory.


Police thought it was an accident that there was a gas explosion, but Lyra later found out it was no accident. Upon that discovery, she picked up her sword and headed outside.


Over the next few days, she had tracked down leads to find her parents' killer, and found the rat in a bar, drinking off the money he was paid for the assassination.


Later on, he was found dead in an alley with a slash to the throat. Lyra wasn't satisfied with that. She started to hunt down different gangsters and criminals, killing them each time. It became a profession for her, and she carried on doing it for years to come.


Eventually, she shut down her parents' company. No one would suffer from it any more. The fortune left to her was quite vast. Lyra bought a flat in central Gotham, and from there she started to fight back at the crime that has ruined the city.


Despite seeing what Batman did, Lyra always killed criminals. She didn't think any good would come of letting them live.

Jonathan spent his days studying, researching, discussing the finer points of psychology with his fellow students, and smoking cannabis. He even managed to create a close relationship with the head professor of psychology, despite their disagreements.
  
  
  Those same disagreements, however, became a bitter sticking point for Jonathan as he transitioned from student to professor. As Jonathan researched more and more, he only reinforced his belief that fear is the deepest, most influential core emotion in humans.   Jonathan was born out of wedlock, his father leaving him past his conception and his mother leaving him after his birth. He was raised by his hyper-religious grandmother, whom was both abusive and neglectful. An incident in which she locked Jonathan in an abandoned church with a mob of frenzied crows was largely the source of Jonathan's long-time ornithophobia and obsession with fear.
  
  
  School wasn't much better for Jonathan. While he was an excellent student, he found himself the target of cruelty by his peers. All this culminated in Jonathan dressing up in a ghastly scarecrow costume towards the end of his senior year and causing a car accident that left one of his worst abusers dead and another paralyzed. Jonathan never felt remorse for any of the havoc he caused.
  
  
  After high school, Jonathan had every intent to put his past behind him. His intelligence was never hampered despite his circumstances, after all. He attended Gotham University with the aid of a scholarship and things generally improved for a long while. Jonathan spent his days studying, researching, discussing the finer points of psychology with his fellow students, and smoking cannabis. He even managed to create a close relationship with the head professor of psychology, despite their disagreements.
  
  
  Those same disagreements, however, became a bitter sticking point for Jonathan as he transitioned from student to professor. As Jonathan researched more and more, he only reinforced his belief that fear is the deepest, most influential core emotion in humans. Given his superior's continued insistence that fear not be given more focus, Jonathan turned to biochemistry to create a fear-inducing mixture. His old friend was his first test subject and the reaction was so strong that it induced a fatal heart attack. Though he hadn't intended to kill again, Jonathan regretted nothing as he wasn't implicated and was promptly given the position of head professor of psychology. From there, he increased emphasis on the study of fear.
  
  
  Unfortunately, Crane became overzealous in his efforts to teach about his pet fascination. Several complaints of unethical experimentation plus an incident in which Crane fired off a gun in a lecture hall to show the effects of fear on the body had him discharged from his position. Embittered further by what he saw as an effort to hinder his studies, Crane doubled down on his research, employing blatantly criminal methods to attain test subjects and funding. He's made several under-the-table deals with Gotham's prisons to "relieve" them of groups of inmates, but he's not above abducting civilians.

  • Fear Toxin: A compound of Crane's own creation that induces severe anxiety and terror in most animals. It's used both as a means of experimenting on subjects as well as a self-defense measure.

Backstory: Lyra lived with her wealthy parents, and led a happy life until she reached the age of sixteen. It was then she found out that her parents' company wasn't so righteous. She didn't approve, but didn't act. A few months before she reached seventeen, her parents were killed in an explosion in their company's factory.


Police thought it was an accident that there was a gas explosion, but Lyra later found out it was no accident. Upon that discovery, she picked up her sword and headed outside.


Over the next few days, she had tracked down leads to find her parents' killer, and found the rat in a bar, drinking off the money he was paid for the assassination.


Later on, he was found dead in an alley with a slash to the throat. Lyra wasn't satisfied with that. She started to hunt down different gangsters and criminals, killing them each time. It became a profession for her, and she carried on doing it for years to come.


Eventually, she shut down her parents' company. No one would suffer from it any more. The fortune left to her was quite vast. Lyra bought a flat in central Gotham, and from there she started to fight back at the crime that has ruined the city.


Despite seeing what Batman did, Lyra always killed criminals. She didn't think any good would come of letting them live.


Gadgets/Equipment: Lyra usually just wields her sword. She doesn't have much else to use as a vigilante.


Skills: Lyra can scale smaller buildings without much difficulty.
