Yeah, that'll add a bit more flavor to the kingdom. We can say that in the early days of Auria, the first kings abused their wealth and military prowess and forced several military campaigns against races they deemed lesser. Would that be okay?I like the new Tharqa! Not sure if I prefer one over the other, but the new one is still good
Also, Soul of Cinder , I've got a question. I've noticed that you updated the lore page and Auria seems like pretty idealistic little place. Which is fine, your world after all, but I had it in mind that the main kingdom in this RP would have been the one that took over and basically conquered the False Demons. So it's still possible that one of the old kings did that, right?
Yeah definitely. Speaking of characters, I'm gonna need someone to act as the 'leader' of the group. It's not so much of a formal position but more like the person everybody's gonna listen to and respect. Any volunteers?First off, do you think soulof cinder is gonna have a character?
I'm gonna get the starter post up in about 2-3 hours.I'd probably ask Soul of Cinder for an okay to start the rp
Not one. Not one character we have so far would care. But I vote for Ki-Mono 's character.Yeah definitely. Speaking of characters, I'm gonna need someone to act as the 'leader' of the group. Definitely! That would mean it happened around 400 years ago though, right? Sorry, my grasp on the timeline's a wee bit loose.Yeah, that'll add a bit more flavor to the kingdom. I am in agreement. She certainly seems better than Bridget.I'm up for Jane being the leader. I imagine her having a tantrum every now and then tho lol
I want to try and make her more over the top like I have a feeling you guys are gonna do with your characters
Not my best work, but eh, it’s something.A nobleman walked into a seedy, backwater bar and sat down in the furthest corner from the door. He was expecting someone to come in. He didn’t know their name- He only knew that he had to sit here, in this bar, at this time in the hopes that they would show up.
The man glanced around, staring nervously at all the shady figures who were eyeing him from the bar. He was in a bad place, what was he thinking? Did he really believe the rumors, that this infamous thief would appear here to take on new clients? He should leave, he should-
“WELLLLL, fancy this!” A feminine voice cried, and the nobleman looked up just in time to see someone pluck into the seat across from him with a mischevious twinkle in her green eyes.
“You,” She started, pointing at him, “are not my usual customer. You stick out like a sore thumb, good sir. A mouse in a room full of cats.” She chuckled to herself.
The analogy certainly fit, the way the others in the tavern were eyeing him made him feel like a piece of prey being watched by hungry hawks.
“So.” The young woman said, earning the nobleman’s attention once again, “What brings someone such as yourself to my booth in the Blinking Eye?”
“I...” The nobleman stammered, looking around, “I am looking to... hire your services.”
“Nooo shit, really?” She gasped feigning surprise. “What exactly do you mean by services though, cause I have a lot of skills. You know, I make a mean peach cobbler if you give me the ingredients, or... Ohhhh, I get it.”
“G-Get what?” The noble snapped, getting irritated with her lack of professionalism.
“I know what you’re here for...” The young woman leaned forward till they were nose to nose, “Is the wife not doing it for you?”
He sputtered and coughed at her, prompting her to lean back nd avoid whatever he was spraying out, continuing with “Well, I’m sorry to say sweetheart, you came to the wrooooong gal for that. I don’t do that. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, you gotta make money how you can, but that’s not what I do.”
“I am not here asking for sexual favors!” He exclaimed, his face lit up bright red.
“Ohhhhh... So you’re here for the cobbler then?” She snickered, enjoying watching him squirm.
“I am not here for cobbler!” He growled, irritation making him bolder, only for that to be squashed when the young half-elf lunges forward and stuck her face in his.
“Get to the point then, toot sweet!” She hissed, eyes narrowed, “What am I stealing, who am I stealing from, and how much are you gonna pay me?”
“I... I need you to break into Lord Harvath’s manor, take his heirloom ruby ring from the jewelry box and deliver it to me.” The nobleman’s tone became serious, as if he were talking to one of the guards in his manor. Or a disobedient child.
“Oooohh, high profile. I like it.” She leaned back and clasped her hands behind her head, looking intrigued, “great... so how deep do your pockets go for this particular heist? I would offer you the standard fare, but considering the high risk of the endeavor-“
“I don’t come with money.” The noble snapped.
“Ohhhhhh, well then, our business is done.” She stated, hopping up onto her feet and preparing to walk away when-
“I have information you want.”
She stopped in her tracks and paused, before turning slowly to gaze at the man who was now smugly sitting in his seat.
“... what the hell are you talking about?” She growled, looking at him with barely suppressed malice.
“I know who you are looking for. I have information on them.”
“...” The half-elf stared, wide-eyed, then turned away and seemed to be contemplating.
The noble knew he had her. His smirk grew wider.
“... you will come back here, same place, same time, two weeks from now. You will have this information, and if I decide that it is worth my effort, I will hand over the ring. If the information is useless to me, then I’ll just have to find somewhere else to go with that ring. Call it collateral.”
With that, the young woman turned and walked away, leaving the nobleman alone.
I am in agreement. She certainly seems better than Bridget.
Bridget: ALright, we need to get into that temple, soooo as your leader, I vote that we all just run in and murder everyone.
Hm, I wouldn't mind my guy playing second-in-command. Out of this motley crew of characters, he'll probably be the more levelheaded one in most situations, lol. ^^
