This is the back story of two boys, Ezra and Jamie, who are both currently attending the prestigious Azui Academy. Ezra Flick is a secret keeping, first class teenage boy, who never lets anyone get close enough to learn anything about him. Jamie is a lower-middle class, sweet, friendly boy who is doing anything to get on Ezra's good side. Ezra keeps pushing him away, until one day when Jamie happens to walk in on Ezra's bullies finally getting the drop on him. After Jamie lays down his life trying to help him, Ezra finally decides to open up. And it turns out that he's not the only one keeping secrets...
