Fandom Avatar - The Forgotten Link

"Han, you are not here to command me, I should remind you, I am not working for you" Rufus didn't leave the room, he was standing in the middle of it "So shut up with your stupid chair flipping" Rufus was getting angry, Han acted like a child "The Avatar is not on this world to command people, He is here to help people" Rufus voice was changing from a soft and caring voice to a hard and angry voice "Han! You act like a child who got powers, you totally not act like the Avatar would. Korra should have told you"

Gao let out an irritated sigh. He didn't know much about this Rufus, but he was already getting on Gao's nerves. "He should know Avatar Han, I thought it was pretty clear." He rested a firm and heavy palm on Rufus's shoulder. "All right Mr. Nevarro, that's enough out of you. The Avatar's got some important things to prepare for, your spar will have to wait. Got it?" It was more of a command than a question. "Oh, and here's the deal. When the Avatar tells you to do something, you do it. No question's asked. If you raise your voice, or talk back to him again, you'll answer to me, and I ain't as nice as Han is", he told Rufus with a growl in his voice, his grip still firm on the airbender's shoulder. "Now, if you still want to spar, I'll send one of the agents with you to the training deck. You want Rufus here out of your hair Avatar Han?"

Dafah had taken to bending moisture out of the air, freezing water gained into little cubes and making them swirl.

The pro benders only had one air bender, and two of each other type,

"Hey!" A guy called out, "you play?"

"I can" Dafah grinned,

So it began, two water benders, earth and fire, vs one of each type of bending.

"No ice right?" Dafah confirmed,

"Right, and Air has the same rules as water" someone answered

"Yee Yee" Daf replied,

And they were off

The air bender was knocked out first by Dafah, "you move like my papi!" He yelled once his head got out of the water, Dafah bobbed weaved and dodged as he was using airbending forms mixed with his bending.

Fierce competition lasted for at least an hour, dafahs team lost after winning the first round.

They played again

"Well actually I thought he could stick around. We could have some tea, meditate, and maybe even discuss- of course I want him out!" Han looked at the two and took a deep breath. He was beginning to lose his composure again and situations as the public avatar had to be dealt with delicately. The air bender seemed unlikely to want to leave, so Han tried a different approach. He slick back his hair out of stress and turned on the ol' avatar charm. "Today is a day of peace and community. Not a day of training, Rufus. I understand you're eager to liven things up, but come on, buddy. This is like... My one day of the year where I can just celebrate with the people. Let's not squander it with a fight. What do you say pal?"

"Well Han, you just sometimes totally not act like an avatar would. From my experience with Korra and the stories I heard about Aang, you are totally not like them. And I say you might be an imposter" Rufus stormed around the room, trying to give Gao a push to get out of his way. He walked firmly towards his own dorm at the Jet and locked the door. He sat down on the ground and started meditating, the last time Han and he didn't get along well. Especially when Rufus heard about the rumors of Han being an imposter. Maybe it was the best for Rufus to leave Han and try to find the real avatar, but he didn't know what the real avatar would be, an Earth bender? or maybe even already a Fire bender? Rufus wasn't sure, He missed the advice of Rohan, his trainer.

Rufus made the decision, as soon as the were in Ba Sing Se he would leave Han

She wasn't the type of person to wear jewelry, and a vehicle of her own was unnecessary; Ba Sing Se's public transportation was certainly equipped enough to get her anywhere she needed to be. But that offer of food...Well, who in their right mind would say no to free food? Even if the one offering it sounded like an overheating robot. "...If you insist, I wouldn't mind getting something to eat. There's a stand with the best food not far from here- all made to order." There was a momentary pause, green eyes flicking to the bike beside him. "But I'm not riding on that thing. I think one brush with death is enough for today." Giving a shallow nod and tucking her arms up under her shawl, Qi began down the sidewalk again, expecting him to follow. If he wanted to make good on his word, he'd have to walk the bike with him.
"Oh." A few steps in, she peered back over her shoulder at him. She told herself that anyone would be at a loss in a situation like this. "Um...I'm Qi, by the way. That might be important to include."
Lee prepared to jump on the bike to climb, already forgetting that he said he wouldn't try to ride it. However his new companion made it clear she didn't want to. "Oh I see... Eh... I understand. Not logical as less likely to be run over by the bike while on it and I am a fine rider to miss you at that distance. But of course once bitten..."He stopped getting on the bike and stood normally and followed her onto the pavement pulling his bike along to a parking spot. "Lee Beifong. Yes and no, I am adopted by the Beifongs." He said assuming Qi would recognise the family name. "What would you like to have? Here to see the parade like everyone?"

Shini: Inside a Pet Store

Really, Shini hated Avatar day. Not because of all the festivities, but because it slowed down the already slow business in the Pet Store he worked in. Everyone was busy out celebrating or trying to woo Avatar Han with a bouqet of flowers, leaving him to sit in a store, kind of bored while the Turtledogs and and Moosecats played in their cages, or slept. His thin fingers drummed at the counter as he watched all the commotion going on outside the window. He supposed he could take a break to see everything going on out there, but... that seemed like a one-way ticket to never being able to get back to the store.

He stood up, walking over to one of the kennels a Turtledog dwelled in, crouching down in front of it,
"What do you think? Should I take a break?"

He got a very slow bark in response.
A satisfied grin plastered on her jaw, Hotaru sauntered happily through the busy streets of Ba Sing Se. Today was Avatar Day, and due to the sudden massive increase of tourists, the city seemed to be on some kind of high. The sun beat down heavily on her clothed back, creating a strong temptation to escape into the blissful air conditioning. The only question was: where? Her dark eyes scanning the buzzing plaza and a chirping iguana-parrot perched on her right shoulder, Hota caught sight of an advertisement for a pet shop and quickly began weaving in between the city folk. A visit to the pet shop couldn't go wrong, right? A claimed left shoulder would be the worst that could happen. "What do you thing, Ryuu? Want a treat?" She murmured to him, receiving a rather painful nip to her ear in response. Pushing open the heavy door with a quiet sigh, her eyes widened at the sight of the completely dead store. "Oh, wow. Maybe I should've come in here earlier . ." She said to herself, not yet noticing Shini near the turtledogs.

Shini: In the petstore

3122480_1357436047962.65res_300_300.jpg

Shini looked up when he heard the bell above the door ring, signaling to him that somebody had decided to come inside. Before the customer had come in, the Firebender had decided to take one of the Turtledog hatchlings out to check on it and, due to such, was still holding the baby Turtledog when he stood up. He was kinda short, at 5'2. "Oh, welcome!" His first costumer, thank the Spirit Realm, "Are you looking for anything specific? Some food for your Iguanaparrot?" He felt that guessing that she wanted something for her pet was appropriate, considering that people normally brought their pets in to find something for them.

Gao didn't budge an inch as the angered airbender shoved past him. He gave Rufus a death glare and a growl as he passed, hoping to intimidate him, but he just kept walking. He reached into a pocket inside of his suit jacket and pulled out a nasty looking, studded, brass knuckle. He looked to Han, hopeful for approval to pound the uncooperative Rufus into paste. Gao had been itching for a fight lately. It'd been too long for his liking since he'd beat the ever-loving crap out of someone. He used the excuse that he didn't want to get soft, but really, he just liked it. It was...cathartic.

"Want me to...take care of him?", Gao asked, having made sure that the airbender was out of earshot.

Dafahs team entered a tie breaking round

"Ooooh water water!!" Dafah begged

"We choose water" Dafah stepped forward more than happy

His opponent did to,

They squared off as someone used earth bending to raise the platform they stood on.

"Go" someone shouted and his opponent had water rising for a massive push,

Dafahs arms became stiff and rigid, spinning like a swamp bender he made the water lash at his competition until he timed his arms to spin together and one surge of water knocked him into "the soup"

Dafahs team won, which was the time Dafah wanted a drink

"I'll be back for Your revenge don't worry"

"That would be lovely," he replied to Gao. He looked back to Rufus with uncaring eyes. "I'm getting really sick and tired of being questioned by him." Han's eyebrow twitched for a mere moment. As popular was he was with the public, Han was not always so easy to deal with in private affairs. "Everyday, he always has to 'test' me in his own pompous way." He continued impersonating his soon to be former advisor. "Han, Avatar's don't do that. HAN, maybe some sparring is in order. HAN! HAN! Everyone minute I'm around him is frankly, infuriating." He took another quick inhale to avoid going off the deep end. Usually Liang was here to keep him composed, but he dismissed her earlier. "Gaogao, make a note, fire him the second we land." He gave a quick two claps of his hands. "If you could I'd have him escorted off the plane." He looked to Gao to see if there was any initial reaction. "I know what I said," he added coyly. "We could always just Get him a parachute or something. Oh! Or since he's an airbender, you can get him one of those staff glider... thingies..." He looked to his menacing enforcer mentally spent on the subject. "Just do whatever gets him out of my affairs. I have too much riding on today."

The p.a system came on with an announcement from the pilot. "Attention passengers, we will be descending into ba sing Se in 30 minutes. Please remain seated until we land."

No wonder Lee could metalbend- he was a Beifong. Even adopted, Qi was sure he must have received training from the line that founded the metal city of Zaofu, the line that had devised the earthbending offshoot itself. Qi couldn't help but be humbled for a moment, taking in the news. She'd have quite the story for Su, when she saw her sister next.

Her awestruck spell was broken by the question, and she widened her stride a little to catch up to him. A group of kids ran down the sidewalk opposite them, one of them wearing a mask of Avatar Kyoshi's face. As the two of them neared the next intersection, the smell of food began to waft their way. Oh, they were getting close now. "I've been wanting a meat bun for a little while now. I know the guy who makes them, and as I said, they're very good. He cares a lot about food and the people he serves." On a day like today, his business must be thriving. As the pair emerged into a more open street, filled with people, her suspicion was confirmed. The familiar green and white food cart had built up a line at least six patrons deep. Oh well. Good food required sacrifices sometimes. Making a little motion for Lee to follow her, Qi lead him to the end of the line. Hopefully he wasn't in a hurry, but this was his reparation, after all. Recalling his second question, she clasped her hands in front of her. "I live here in Ba Sing Se. My family's shop isn't far from here. I hadn't been planning to watch the parade..." Her eyes turned to their left, watching as smiling faces milled about. Being back behind the shop's counter had to be more comfortable than remaining among these crowds. "...but I might, now."

Serenity finally made it to Ba Sing Se on the back of her flying bison Ansu. It was her first time out of Republic city and she was going on Avatar day. It was quite a day to take her first steps out into the world. She was still in training but she had all her tattoos and her long golden hair had grown and extremely long. She and Ansu found a place to land and made sure that her faithful and trusted bison would be safe and well taken care of. She hesitantly made her way down the streets of the largest and oldest city. She wondered if she could actually meet the avatar and perhaps get some pointers on her spiritual training. She somehow found her way to a curious little pet shop and wondered how she wound up there. "Oh dear." she said to herself then sighed and called for a little help.

Yuu frowned slightly and carefully put the oddly shaped fruit back in her bag, which had everything she owned stuffed into it. She didn't get a chance to try and haggle anymore, since someone else rudely pushed in front of her and handed over the required gold coins. She turned away with a small sigh.

Everything was so
different here. Back in her village, buying trinkets or clothing with fruits and vegetables was normal, it was expected even. Since it was a farming village, gold was valued less than food, and most of the time her family hadn't had many gold coins to spare on buying useless stuff. She glanced back at the doll, dressed like a firebender with dark hair and a weird scar on his eye, giving it a last longing glance before she moved on. She quickly forgot about it, as she tried to push her way through the crowd. It was actually making her claustrophobic and uncomfortable. She had never been around so many people before. Yuu pushed harder, and almost resorted to earthbending walls around her when she stumbled out onto the other side.

Something instantly caught her eye. Yuu stepped forward and smushed her face against the glass of a store, staring in wide-eyed wonder at a Turtlepuppy she could see sleeping in a cage. She had never seen anything like it before. She pressed her hands against the glass, not at all noticing or even realizing how she must have looked to those inside the store.

The corner of Gao's mouth twisted up into a smirk as Han gave him the go ahead to get Rufus out of their affairs. He really hoped the airbender disagreed with his termination, he really did. And then Han had to go and ruin it by talking some more. Gao rolled his eyes as Han had his little tantrum. He really was childish at times. He kept himself stone-faced, but he internally gritted his teeth as Han called him by that damnable nick name. Why, just why? Without even trying, this man tested Gao's nerve. He hesitantly put his brass knuckle back into his pocket. At the mention of throwing Rufus off the plane, Gao simply cocked an eyebrow and shrugged his shoulders. "We still got time. I'm just worried about the stupid flying carpet he calls a pet", referring to the flying bison escorting the jet.

Gao nodded his head in understanding as Han finalized the order to get rid of the advisor. "You got it boss", he said as he made his way to the door, back to his seat. As he sat down he reached for his newspaper...which was back in Han's room. Mentally kicking himself, he reached for his briefcase and ruffled through it, snagging an official looking set of termination papers. He hastily scratched in Rufus's signature. It was just a formality really, just a way to cover the avatar's butt. Once they landed, he'd give Rufus the papers, and send the bastard on his way. If he gave Gao any lip, he'd be walking away with a fat lip and more. Taking a swig of his coffee, he leaned back and grabbed one of the other newspapers. Ruffling through it, he read the title of an article that said, Is Avatar Han Hiding a Secret? Letting out a frustrated sigh, he mumbled to himself, "And that makes six."

Dafah saw the airship, and a bison.. I wish I was a air bender.. If I could bend air, I'd give up meat... Be a Full vegetarian..

Dafah looked around, so many people laughing, walking, singing, bending performers and

By the moon badger moles...

Someone was singing and the moles enjoyed it.

I wish they had some of that metal bending music.. Twings and twangs..

A man selling beverages from a stall pulled Dafah aside

"Thirsty right?"

"Almost always"

"Try this saki, new on the market"

He did, "old man, this tastes like ass..."

"It's got more a kick then your used to ey"

"It's got the taste of a kick"

"Are you just going to belittle my product?"

"Can I have another glass?"

"After that review?"

"It's avatar day come on.. I'll spread the good word"

"You know if you cut your hair in fire nation style, you'd look like the old fire lord" old man said pouring a glass.

"Aha yep I win all the lookalike competitions" Dafah chuckled as he rubbed his scar and downed his drink, "second one isn't as bad as thef irst" he said tipsy.

"Oh meat pies you say?"He asked curiously as he walked with her towards the stall. "Never had a chance to try local food. Too busy setting up float vehicles for the parade. In fact I haven't eaten property in a while. Sure do miss aunty Lily cooking, though it meant I have to have ear talked off. Though I suppose soppose she needs to talk to someone since... I wonder what old Kenji is doing, still trying to do his old dance moves."He said in a rant continuing to speak almost to himself on a on, only stopping when he realised Qi was already speaking again. He mentally cursing himself for going on to one of his rants." Should be interesting, more for the show than the avatar... Haven't seen him do much."

Guiltlessly, Hotaru curtly nodded, pleased to see the young turtledog in his hands. She had always enjoyed the simplicity of the slower and cuter animals, but knew better than to buy one when she needed something dependable and active. Fortunately, despite his picky attitude, Ryuu was much like herself, and had come in handy what felt like hundreds of times. "Oh, yeah, I would. He doesn't like chewy stuff though, just a tip." She smiled nonchalantly, making her way between the shelves of supplies so she wasn't screaming across the store. Attempting to make conversation, Hotaru offered her help. "I can hold that for you. Well, I mean, I'd love to hold that for you."

Shini: Inside the petstore

Shini would have had no problem carrying the Turtledog hatchling and getting down what the girl needed at the same time, and would have declined her offer had she not stated that she wanted to hold it. Well, the customer was always right, he guessed, "Oh, okay. Careful, they can be a tad squirmy," he stated, holding the small animal out for her to take, "Nothing chewy, are there any flavours he likes?" He may not have worked in the biggest petstore, but they still had a decent selection of foods.

Slowly, his gaze moved to the window, where he saw another girl... pressing her face and hands up against the wall, staring at one of the Turtledog hatchlings? In all of Shini's time working at the petstore, he had learned that the only people who really did something like that were under the age of ten, which she clearly wasn't. This instantly caused her to register as 'Possibly dangerous' in his mind. Only extremely childish people and people trying to mask their true nature acted that way when they were in their teens,
"I, uhm, will be right back, miss. I'm gonna go... check on that chick outside that window, then I'll find your Iguana Parrot something."

With that, he left her with the Turtledog Hatchling, and pushed the door open to lean his head out the door, looking at the girl staring at the sleeping Turtledog, "Uhm... You alright?"

Hotaru’s heart instantaneously melted as she tenderly grasped the young animal between her fingers and thumbs. She felt is squirm, the muscles inside its’ shell straining against her gentle grip, startled by the change and momentarily attempting to escape. However, the turtledog began to calm as she reached her pointer fingers up to touch the top of its’ hairy head. Noticing her own shoulders relaxing, Hota nodded and explained her iguana parrots taste. “He likes fish, but usually the fish-flavored snacks are chewy. Something fruity should do, if you don’t have anything else. I just wanted out of the crowd, so he can’t be that picky.” She mused, shooting a warning glare at the menacing parrot that perched beside her head.

“Oh, okay. I’ll be here.” The tall, sharp-featured teenager murmured, far more focused on the hatchling that seemed intent on falling asleep in her hands.

The crows had begun to grow more and more restless as they awaited the arrival of Avatar Han. Liang had managed to keep him on a very tightly crafted schedule. Han looked from the front windows on the left hand side of his jet. Ba Sing Se was packed to the brim with denizens from all elemental nations. Whether they saw him as fake or not, having that many eyes on him always put him in a state of anxiety. He was always excited about it though. Being a role model for all those people gave him a purpose and drive to be the best he could for them.

"Okay Han... time to give 'em the ol' razzle dazzle." He spoke as he took a deep breath in his own preparation of what to say once the landing bay door opened. The plane itself had just made a graceful landing as the crowd grew louder.

The announcer's voice grew on the PA system as Han's jet landed on the heavily guarded runway. Metalbenders were placed at the side, slowly compacting the jet's wings so it would fit more compactly. Since the invention of the plane, many metal benders could be seen on the landing docks to decrease the overall size of the plane. This allowed planes to fit neatly on the ground without being too much of an obstruction. "Ladies and gentlemen of Ba Sing Se! It is my pleasure to introduce to you our Avatar for the past 30 years! Your one and only peacekeeper; HAN!!!!"

Han took a deep breath as the landing door cracked open and opened down in a most dramatic fashion. "Showtime," he grinned. Before the door could even finish opening, Han fired himself out of the plane like a rocket. With fire bending from the soles of his feet, he blasted into the air for a a good 10 seconds before he airbended himself into a twist mid-air. He didn't hover for long as he held his arms out and began to plunge fast. The crowd gasped as Han's eyes were closed. Falling further and further, still with that charming smile on his face.

He opened his eyes widely as he could feel himself plummeting, and planned to use some more bending to really put on a show. He used more airbending to slow his decent as he bended water from the two fountains that surrounded the square, crafting himself a slide of ice that he skated on just over the audience. He had crafted his very own ice path over the audience's head and they were going nuts for it! He leaned down as he skid along, high fiving all those within his range before making one final leap towards the stage. His jump seemed a bit off as he looked like he was a couple meters off. Of course this was all another ruse as before he could fall, an earth staircase rose from the ground, having Han walk gently down the steps to the front stage. The staircase dispersed behind him as he turned to his crowd of fanatics and gave a big smile and wave to all sides of the packed up square.

Yuu jumped back, startled, and had started to raise her fist instinctively when he realized that he looked vaguely familiar. She glanced at the window, and had a vague memory of seeing him somewhere inside the store as she'd stared at the Turtledog. The small rocks that had been slowly lifting off the ground settled as she lowered her hands.

His question confused her. "I-Of course I'm alright! Why wouldn't I be?" She found herself being distracted again by the animals, though she didn't mind. "Do you know who owns this..." She trailed off and took a few steps back so that she could properly read the sign. "This petstore? Or, better yet, do you know how much one of those small ones are?" She knew she was rambling, getting ahead of herself before giving him any time to answer, but she could help it.

The line steadily shrunk, leaving them just before the stall's counter. "Well! If it isn't my best customer!" the large man behind the counter proclaimed upon seeing Qi. Warm eyes traveled from her to the boy beside her, a little surprised. "And you brought a friend along too? Well, I'll be damned. He treating you alright?"

Trying her best to ignore the insinuation, Qi smiled lopsidedly. Her gesture was a little strained. "I'd say so. He'll be paying for two meat buns, if you don't mind." The man smiled widely, already moving to get the food for her. He lifted the lid off of one steaming pot. "Of course, of course. Lots of bellies to fill today, you know. But I think I can spare a couple, just this once."

As the cook wrapped up each bun individually and instructed Lee about the price, Qi let her attention drift for a moment. It suddenly seemed...darker, somehow. Like when clouds drift on by the sun, blotting it out temporarily. Her brow drew together in confusion, and tilting her head up, she noticed exactly what had caused the disruption: A jet. Just as she was about to wonder whose jet it was, the P.A. system not far off told her the answer. It was Han's.

Qi had never in her life seen an avatar in person. Almost getting run over was a first too, so why not keep the ball rolling?

Serenity looked around the cute little pet shop and saw quite a selection. Having never left air-bender island, she was not used to such creatures nor such a variety of food that they could eat. "Wow.....I bet even Ansu couldn't eat all this." she said with a bit of a laugh herself. Seeing the turtledogs made the young airbender smile happily at the cute little creatures but she already had her companion. Besides, even if she were to get another, it would have to be able to fly at the very least. She watched the shop owner walk out to talk to the girl that had been starring in at the hatchlings and she thought it was adorable, even at her age. She looked around for a bit, not really intent on anything at all. Once she had her fill of the cute little creatures she left the pet store and was greeted with the announcement that the avatar was arriving. She wondered what all the fuss was really about. Surely the avatar would be better suited to holding the peace if he did not have to endure so much recognition. She made her way to the stage slowly but surely with as many people as were there it was hard to move. She watched as avatar Han showed off his bending ability and it kind of put her off a bit. She wasn't really fond of using bending for entertainment like that.
