  Background: Born to a non-bender mother and an Earthbending father, Jia lived a fairly good life with her parents. When it was found that she could bend the earth, Liu was ever so happy and excited to have a bender. He promised to teach her vigorously of everything that he knew. As a young child, the idea of being part of the Dai Li was already drilled to her brain and it didn't help that she adored her father despite the daily teaching even for a kid.
  
  She was a playful child, happy and friendly. She first saw Princess Xiurong from afar while wandering the palace at the age of seven. It was two years later when she gained the courage to approach the princess and asked to play with her. One day they went Earth surfing, which ended badly for both the princess and Jia. Not her best moment but it was then that she saw the princess as her best friend. It didn't change the fact that she had gotten scolded by her father after that led her to work harder in training and gain a more serious attitude but not comepletely void of her playfulness.
  
  The next few years has been nothing but mastering her skills to become a better fighter and bender while sticking to Xiurong and sparring with her. It was when she was thirteen years old that everything turned around for her. A battle, just for the fun of it. Jia was the better earthbender from the performance they showed but to the daughter of the Dai Li it was just any other sparring that they did and gave some teasing comment. Little did she know that at the end of the fight was a burned shoulder from the fire of Xuirong's hand.
  
  If anything it was a shock to Jia, and a bit of fear. Seeing how Xiurong kept pummeling the elements to her, it made her think that the Princess was angry at her, became hesitant and avoided her. She then became Xu's retainer after the title of being Heir was given to him. She failed to talk to her best friend about the incident and then the Avatar was whisked away by the White Lotus.
  
  Jia then in turn became closer with Xu than they did before, often with him wherever he goes and talked. She reached out when Xiurong came back the first time, but it wasn't the same. Months went by as she tried her best to keep the friendship there, sadly the former heir became more and more distant as time passed by. Because of the events the more jaded Xu became too. The more hopeless Jia felt with her friendship with the two siblings.
  
  Saddened by this fact, the more apathetic she became of it. It didn't help that her mother left to live with another man. Not being able to stand being by her father's side anymore. Liu being fueled with anger had let it all out to his daughter, trained her harder than before, mocked her when she made a mistake. She'd often wake up the next day with a new bruise, her father's personal punching bag.
  
  The only thing that kept her sane was that she had a duty to fulfill the next morning. She can please her father that way and maybe someday he would stop and became the same old dad that she adored. Never the less, the bruise would often be covered up by her uniform and make up if there is any on the face. Days passed, a repetitive cycle that bore nothing but a whole inside of her. That is until the Palace was attacked and the King was kidnapped.
  
  The Avatar returned and Jia followed wherever the siblings went. To the Sand Kingdom, the infiltration, and the escape. The people lost faith in the Beifongs, but that doesn't matter to her, she has a job and that is to protect the next in line to the throne. That is all that matters to her now.
  
  Family relations:
  Liu Xiaodan - Her father, Head of the Dai Li. A father she used to adore that had turn into an abusive man.
  
  Xing Xiaodan - Her mother, left home for reasons unknown to her own daughter. She promised of coming back to take Jia but she never did.
  
  Xiurong Beifong - Her bestfriend, or so she thought. They first officially met at the age of nine, saddened by the lonely figure of the young Princess by herself. Jia was the first to approach with a friendly smile, offered to play with her. A race of Earthsurfing led to injury, then to scolding, to the formation of a deeper friendship. It was at the time that Jia promised to protect Xiurong no matter what and yet she can't do that now. Not when the Princess became the Avatar, not when they were so far away from the people they once were.
  
  Xu Beifong - Heir to the Earth Kingdom, Jia didn't think much of Xu when they were younger. After becoming his retainer, they grew to be close friends but as Xiurong grew distant to the both of them so did he to his retainer. Hurt, and there was nothing she could do about it. She decided to toss her feelings and focus on the task at hand. Even with the distance between them, Jia kept Xu eating at the right time of the day, disinfected and bandaged his injuries from his constant experimentation and keeping him from locking himself in his lab.

  Except her sword isn't an odachi but a jian- a one-handed, double-edged, Chinese sword. The hilt of the sword is mostly composed of pure alloy except for the pommel. The pommel is composed of a meteorite from the Metal Kingdom, a gift from the other BeiFongs, and can be metalbended and called upon by Xiu. On the other hand, the battle fan's edges are razor-sharp. It has a sizeable width (36inches) which is useful for creating gusts of wind or gliding.

  Background:
  
  Xiurong Beifong is the firstborn of the Earth Empire's reigning sovereigns, followed closely by her twin brother. As the eldest, she was the rightful heiress of the throne; a fact that was dropped onto her shoulders ever since she developed consciousness. Thanks to this, Xiu's childhood was mostly filled with books and trainings, never actually having time to enjoy herself and play with fellow children. What little entertainment she had was all thanks to her brother, Xu, and a Dai Li girl, Jia. The young princess would occasionally sneak out of her studies to hang out with them- playing dolls, hide-and-seeks, tags, and even earth surfing.
  
  This was the extent of her life until she hit the age of twelve. Her parents threw a grand festival in her honor; fully confident in their beloved daughter, the monarchs organized a live match between Xiu and Jia. It was, quite possibly, one of the best fight two twelve-year olds could have concocted. However, it didn't take long before it became apparent that Jia was the more skilled of the two. This greatly angered Xiu; the weight of her parents and people's expectations dragging her down until she simply couldn't take it anymore and exploded.
  
  It was quite the sight. First came air, a gust of strong wind sending Jia flying to the concrete walls of the arena. Then came water, sharp whiplashes that cut through her skin as she tried to pick herself up. Next came earth, a large boulder hurled her way that she tried to block with her two hands. And finally, when the rock shattered and she opened her eyes, came the scorching fire.
  
  Everyone was astounded on that day while they stared upon the young princess, her eyes a bright pool of white while a ring of each element circulated around her, her feet a few feet above the ground. That was when everyone, including Xiu herself, realized that she was the new Avatar.
  
  The White Lotus came knocking on their doors a week later, and Xiu was immediately sent to train with them. She was stripped of her inheritance, the claim for the throne passed down to her younger brother.
  
  Nobody really knew for sure what happened, but Xiu's personality began to change drastically. Her meekness has entirely vanished, leaving an arrogant and seemingly wicked girl in its wake. Words began to spread about her activities and how she would go around the world helping people while mastering all elements. Nonetheless, the peaceful state of the world has turned the people complacent and their faith in the Avatar has wavered. While she generally had a good reputation, it all quickly went downhill when news about her father's disappearance reached her.
  
  She was sent back home to investigate, finding no clue or whatsoever until a month later when she found conclusive evidence of orchestrated abduction which pointed the Sand Kingdom's leader as the main culprit. Xiu told Xu about this and the two of them, along with a small team, went to the neighboring nation and tried to disclose the issue diplomatically at first. When the Sand ruler claimed innocence, Xiu was greatly angered and opted to infiltrate the palace's dungeon.
  
  Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned. The team somehow got caught sneaking in and was put under arrest. Mad and desperate, Xiu activated the Avatar State and resisted capture, causing great havoc in Sand Kingdom. They all managed to flee at the end of the day, and now the Avatar and the unlucky people that had been dragged into the matter are now wanted fugitives.

  Nightwing is a dark griffin Xiu encountered when she was fourteen during her travels. Dark griffins are one of the rarest creatures in the world, found in the forests of the Fire Nation, and they're extremely hard to train either thanks to their highly-aggressive nature. Xiu found Nightwing when he was just a baby. He was on the verge of death, seeing that his mother was a victim of illegal poaching, so she nursed him back to help and basically raised him. Nightwing sees her as his mother.
  
  He is a fairly large creature and can accommodate a maximum of four riders. His feathers can perfectly blend with the night sky, making him suitable for subterfuge.
  
  
  
  
  Relationships:
  Emperor Beifong - Xiurong's relationship with her father is complicated at best. He has often claimed that she was his favorite child and it would be hard to argue since he was fond of showing it with his words and actions. Despite this, Xiu has always felt rather suffocated by his high expectations. She's afraid she will never be the perfect daughter he always claimed her to be.
  
  Empress Beifong - Xiu never really got the chance to be as close with her mother unlike Xu. As the heiress, she was simply too busy having lessons with her father and other mentors to actually spend time with the older woman. And things only got worse when she became the Avatar. Xiu wished she was by her side when she passed, and she regretted not spending more time with her.
  
  Prince Xu Beifong - The two of them were somewhat close when they were children. Xiu would often sneak out of her studies to play with him. She knew he looked up to her, and has always been afraid of letting him see her vulnerable side. Her attitude towards him gradually changed when she started her Avatar training though. She grew distant, to the point that she'd straight up ignore him sometimes, and often made him feel inferior.
  
  Other Beifongs - Xiu had a nice relationship with her relatives in the Metal Kingdom. Her sword, Tempest, is a gift from them and they were also the one who trained her metalbending. However, thanks to the recent turn of events, Xiu is unsure of the state of their relationship.
  
  Jia Xiaodan - Jia was first assigned to protect her. Xiu could still remember when the other girl promised to protect her no matter. She, alongside Xu, was Xiu's only playmates when they were all younger. They used to be close until their match during the grand festival. Now, Xiu barely interacts with her.

  For The Glory of Ba Sing Se

  
  These are the words that are embossed above the entrance of his family's manor in the Upper Ring.
  These are the words that Bao repeated before his daily lessons.
  These are the words on his father's lips as he lay on his deathbed.
  These are the words that define the man that is Bao Rongye.​
  
  Born to a small off-branch of the previous Royal family, sitting on the Throne was never even considered, even as Regent. So the nuances of being ruler was never part of the lessons that were drilled into him as child. Instead, he learned the skills that he'd need to someday be a General, as his father, his grandfather, and many of his ancestors were before them. His father, who's hair was already greying when he was born, would pass way shortly after seeing Bao graduate from the Ba Sing Se Imperial Officer Academy, leaving the young man climb the ranks of the Imperial Earth Army alone.
  
  It was obvious that Bao was a born fighter, but his high social standing led to conflicts between him and the ranks above him. Not wanting to waste his potential, Bao was transferred to a remote outpost on the outskirts of the Si Wong Desert, to learn humility. Charged with the protection of the frontier villages and the wind farms that were being constructed, the only action was few and far between in the form of the rare raid from the Sandbender bandits and the occasional wild animal. For a few years, there was little to do other than train and play Pai Sho with his fellow soldiers. At least, until one fateful day that lead to the pursuit of some brazen Sandbenders that had pillaged the construction site of a new wind farm.
  
  Weighed down by their loot, Bao and his men were able to track and catch up to sandbenders in a few days in the Imperial Army's own sand-sailers. Even after dumping the loot, Bao refused to let them off the hook and gave chase. Unable to shake their tenacious tail, the Sandbenders led Bao into a trap, the hunting grounds of a sand shark. The beast gave no warning of its presence until Bao, the few men accompanying him, and their sand-sailer were already surrounded by it's maw, and proceeded to swallow them whole. Not being keen on slowly dying in the stomach of some beast, Bao and his men tried to cut their way out with remains of their wrecked vehicle, but to no avail. Fueled by a combination of desperation and rage, it was here that Bao's ability to lavabend awakened. While toughened against the claws of beasts and men, the sand shark's insides offered little protection against such intense heat. When less than accurate reports of his "heroic" slaying of the sand shark to rescue his men reached back to Ba Sing Se, the Zoological Society came to confirm and claim the body, and he would be given the title of Obsidian Tiger of Su Wong for his accomplishment.
  
  Not even a year later, the Monarch would suddenly disappear, and their heir would be considered too young too take the throne due to the Imperial Constitution set in place. Instead, a Regent would be elected to rule until they came of age. With his past Royal lineage, and recent valor drawing him as a hero to the public, Bao was selected to head the Earth Empire until either the Monarch was found, or their heir came of age. It wasn't long before the Avatar and her sibling would leave to chase rumors of their missing parent, to which he had no qualms, as his hands were full trying to handle the burden that had been put on his shoulders. However, there were soon reports of them committing crimes, and such things were not something he planned on tolerating, as they not only reflected badly on the royal family, but Ba Sing Se herself.

• Appearance:
  Taka takes on an appearrance similar to many Fire Nation men. This is shown by his brown hair, typically kept in a ponytail, accompanied by gray eyes. He stands at 5'9 (175.26cm) and boasts a fit body type. He's by no means a beefy meat-head but he's fairly toned despite his much lither appearance, as is represented in his 150lbs (70.5cm) of weight.

  The one consistent thing that he wears is that of the red ribbon he uses to tie his hair into a ponytail. The only time he is absent from this is when he is sleeping. He also bears a rather interesting scar.

  Taka's scar is similar to the image down below with a few differences. The scar itself starts from his left pectoral, roughly around the heart, and branches around to his back. Unlike the scar in the image, there are no signs of this scarring on his right arm. The scarring on his left arm is only present form his elbow up.

• Background:
  Taka had been born into one of many fire nation families, the third of six total children. His mother (Yai) and father (Shozom) were both exceptional firebenders, each having served time in the fire nation's navy. His grandfather was a great commander for the fire nation fleet, General Uzun the Thunderhawk, he was known for his deadly power and keen control over lightning. Their family had great honor in their bending and put emphasis on the importance of it. However, they also put emphasis on their capability as warriors and would remind their children "If you are to be caught out in the open, you must know how to defend yourself". As such, Taka had begun training his swordsmanship with Shozom as soon as he was of age. Life would continue in this lull of peace and joy for the next seven years.
  
  During this time his family had begun to develop their bending, which served to appease his parents. His eldest brother was the first to develop his firebending, soon after his next sibling had developed theirs. When it came time for Taka's bending to have developed... he was stagnant, he had been the first nonbender in his family- ruining a fifteen generation streak of birthing strictly firebenders. Coming to this realization his grandfather gazed upon him in shame, which was mirrored in his parents. His siblings caught onto this and began teasing him about this, the insult becoming worse when one of his younger sisters had revealed she was capable of not only fire bending but lightning bending as well. With the heavy emphasis on honor in their family, Taka tried to find some way to earn his parent's approval.
  
  To do this he trained harder with his martial capabilities, his father called for a duel between Taka and his older brother Tesim to display how much they'd improved. For the majority of the match Taka held the advantage, he had managed to practically corner his sibling. Until his father had informed them that they should be using their full capability, firebending and swordplay. Tesim had a great advantage at this point, having control of firebending and basic swordplay which allowed him to force Taka into backpedaling. A well-timed fire blast had tripped him up and Taka fell to the floor. As Taka moved to surrender a bolt of lightning was fired at his chest, much to Taka and his father's surprise Tesim had managed to get an idea of lightningbending.
  
  Shozom made haste to bend his own flame, forcing Tesim back and causing the electricity to crackle into nothing. Immediately his mother rushed Taka to receive medical attention, and after two months of recovery, he found himself back in training. Taka had been lucky when it came down to it, the arc of the lightning had managed to miss his heart by the tiniest margin. He now bore an interesting scar from the sheer power of the energy that had ransacked his body. It had taken him about a year to recover fully from the experience, and in that time he was placed in the care of his uncle (Izuo). Over the course of the next four years his uncle taught him many things, one of which was that of a martial arts technique he had learned known as "Chi Blocking". When they weren't training in this technique he could take up more leisure activities, this was how he learned music. His uncle had been a professional sungi horn player, but even with that, he did his best to teach Taka the skills he had been curious about.
  
  Towards the end of those four years, when the two had grown closer, Taka was brought to help Izuo with a project. The project being the creation of the Izumobile, it took them about a year to complete this project. They had gone through many prototypes and had to explain to the guards as to why the garage had exploded twice, but the end result was a work of art. The Mk.IV Pheonix was the first, and only, Izumobile. In the long four years, Taka hadn't heard a word from his parents or siblings, but instead, he felt almost like he had a new father in his uncle. At the end of the next year, upon reaching his eighteenth year of age, Izuo turned over the ownership of the Pheonix to his nephew. The circumstances of this... were less than ideal. Izuo had fallen ill and would be moving on to the afterlife. On his deathbed he was only met with Taka, he had no wife and his brother didn't bother to show up. But even in the end, the ill man smiled to his nephew before fading away.
  
  A year has passed since then, and Taka has been following the sagely advice his uncle had given him in those last moments. "We are all lost in this world, looking through the darkness for something... for hope. You may not be the strongest, but know that even a candle can ward off the darkness."

  Taka's primary weapon, besides his talent in hand-to-hand combat, is his sword. The blade in question is a dao, a single-edged blade commonly carried by fire nation guards and swordsmen. This blade in particular has a multitude of ornate engravings, both upon the blade and scabbard. Along with this, there are additional adornings of gold and a singular ring of a precious gem at its pommel.
  
  Taka and his siblings each received one of these blades upon reaching their fourteenth birthday. It was a right of passage as a warrior within his family, and despite this, no two swords were the same. In Taka's case, his blade was created with black wood and a white jade ring at the pommel. From there, the carvings and steel are nearly the same as his sibling's blades. Before Taka got a better understanding of the world he thought that this sword would be an invincible force. Since then, he has realized that his blade is easily neutralized by the metalbenders.

  The vehicle which Taka drives is a bit of a strange one, not in the fact of its appearance but in that of its design. The appearance of the vehicle is much like that of a satomobile sports car with a little more stretch, granted this is barely noticeable from outside the vehicle. The Pheonix retains the majority-black coloration of the vehicle along with its factory standard white accents. It also boasts a new feature to be introduced in this model, a collapsible roof (Which was already present in the roadster design. The only difference here is that it's a black roof rather than a white one. The interior of the vehicle is made of the same red material, but rather than having four seats it boasts eight. The organization of these seats is 2-2-4. In other words; 2 seats in the front (Driver and Shotgun/Passenger), 2 in the middle, 4 in the back (Backseat/Booth seat). The backseat can also fold forward to allow access to the trunk from within the vehicle's interior, this is done by the middle segment in the backseat folding forward producing a small gap just wide enough for someone to crawl through. Granted this is difficult to see from the outside as the windows of the vehicle are tinted.
  
  While the interior of the vehicle is pretty nifty, the real magic is beneath the hood. The engine at first glance is the same as that of a sports car, but upon deep inspection (Literally picking it apart) one could discover that it is much more like that of a satomobile race car engine. This means that it is capable of reaching speeds just shy to that of a race car. This does mean that the vehicle boasts the same downfall of the race car, in that turning at high speeds is something that works more on an individual's skill with the vehicle than that of aid in the vehicle's design.

  Grandmother - Kallik's relations to her Gran-Gran are quite strong, was always around with the family helping her parents take care of the house along with Kallik and her older brother who she wishes not to comply about. Her grandmother is the most reasonable of them all.

She still believes those traditions are what best, and pushes them on her family and daughter. Bringing a really rough strain between the two. Only benefit was Kallik learning how to heal, and she's not too shabby at it.

Most the time she's having to heal her Nukka because he has the habit of hurting himself when he gets scared.

He was a very different personality- calming, cooperative, understanding. When asked now, she would say that her parents balanced each other, but as a child she thought her mother was simply mean.
  
  She first knew the power of her bending when she was taught to heal. It was like she had never truly bent before that moment. Once she started to develop that skill, her combat skills improved with her confidence, but it was never enough to make her a true warrior in her mother's eyes. So Yara stopped trying, and decided to travel afar to learn more techniques of healing (and maybe some combat too).   Background: Xu Beifong was born right after Xiurong. With her being the oldest, she understandable took on the title to being the heir of the throne. Xu wasn't exactly bothered by this, instead, he hid away in the libraries for his own studies. Though, he would always make time for Xiurong if she managed to sneak out of her studies and strict lectures and play with her. He would admit that with less pressure on him, he enjoyed a big part of his childhood and wanted to share that with his sister, even for only a short time.
  
  Admittedly, he was disappointed to find out that he didn't have the ability to bend, unlike his sister. But his family didn't shy away from him, instead, they allowed him to focus on engineering and architecture - something his great grandfather was well known for. Despite being young, Xu excelled in understanding concepts. And of course, to make sure that he isn't defenseless, they found a tutor for Xu to learn martial arts. The art of chi blocking. Though it wasn't as prevalent as it was before due to armor being a widespread thing, it was still a useful skill to have.
  
  Come twelve years old, his entire life was overhauled. He was watching a practice match between Xiurong and Jia when suddenly, Xiurong displayed Avatar abilities. Everyone was amazed - Xu was straight up stunned and an unknowing seed of fear and amazement was planted deep in his gut. Jia thankfully survived the event. A week later, Xu watched his sister get taken away by the White Lotus and suddenly, all eyes were on him. The heavy expectations that his sister carried shifted to him. He was thrown straight into lessons and barely any time to rest. His only reprieve was seeing his sister every now and then. He took the responsibility in stride, having to match his sister. He couldn't break down now.
  
  Xu... was not sure what had happened to Xiurong. One day, she just became colder and more ruthless. Praise turned to scorn. Admiration turned to jealousy. A once healthy relationship turned sour. The shift in her attitude caused his own turn. The bright eyed younger Beifong began to overcompensate and did away with looking out for himself if it meant he could get a leg up. In addition to his studies, he continued to learn more fighting skills for nonbenders such as himself. He learned piloting and tried to make his own innovations. Anything to show that he was Xiurong's equal.
  
  The reality of the situation came crashing down that he possibly couldn't - as the palace was attacked and he was practically helpless as he found out that his father disappeared. Xiurong promptly came back to investigate and they set off to the Sand Kingdom where all the evidence was pointing to. Xu confronted the man himself, to handle it diplomatically, but ended up with the monarch simply denying it. Xiurong took matters into her own hands and led them to sneak inside to find evidence or, hopefully, their father.
  
  That didn't work. They were seen and as they were being arrested, Xiurong went into the Avatar State. They managed to escape, now with a bounty over their heads. Xu's trying to figure out how to save their kingdom from an all out war.

  • Electric gauntlets - Provided to the young prince to compensate for his lack of bending. He uses it in tandem with his martial arts in times when he can't pierce through their armor or just want a fast fight. Though it's not always effective, it is handy to have.
  • Recurve Bow - Something he requested for himself, Xu had it outfitted specifically for him. It's draw weight is higher than average but Xu can draw it with minimal difficulty. Most of his arrows are pure alloy tipped, but a couple are metal tipped to curb costs.

  • Brought along his personal, reinforced airship. It has three floors with the bottom floor as a dedicated vehicle bay. It can open up from the bottom as a ramp to allow easy access for vehicles. The second floor is dedicated for the crewspace and on the farthest area is the boiler room. The top contains the bridge, Xu's personal experiment chamber and a meeting area. The rooms can be personalized and Xu is willing to redesign parts for better access.
  • Xu had regularly injected himself with the same kinds of poisons that he uses to build up an immunity against them. This has led to a few compromising times where he almost fell sick, but he's powered through them.

  Emperor Beifong - Xu never did get close to him, even when he became the heir. His father's sights has always been and will always be at Xiurong. They've began to spend more time together but it was always strictly business - all politics, no family. Nevertheless, he respects him as a good leader and a semi-decent father.
  
  Empress Beifong - She was the entire reason Xu never felt out of place with his family. She encouraged his lessons when he was younger and often stayed with him in the library to aid him with his studies. He's grown very close to her and even more so when Xiurong was whisked away to train. Though her health was already degrading by then and she was beyond help. He took her death hard and nearly spiraled into deep depression had it not been for his duties.
  
  Avatar Xiurong Beifong - They were rather close as children and often played with each other. He looked up to her a lot, due to how their father often portrayed her as and the fact that she was the heir to the throne. When she went through Avatar training, she was much more distant and Xu grew to resent her presence. He tries to keep their interactions cordial. He would never admit it willingly, but all of what he does is just to impress her and maybe bring back what they had before... though that feeling was buried under multiple layers of spite and jealousy.
  
  Beifong Family - He maintains a good relationship with them and has studied under some for the creation of many of his weaponry. He does not know where he stands with them now due to recent events.
  
  Jia Xiaodan - She was originally assigned to Xiurong but he's known her since childhood due to Xiurong's influence. However, when Xiurong grew distant, he did too. He respects her as his bodyguard and have thought of opening up to her. They were close. He knows he can trust her with his life. He does. And she does her duties well, she's shown her loyalty multiple times and he knows she cares. And yet, he always withdraws. Nevertheless, he appreciates her loyalty.

Background:​

Xian was born into a family with great history very much written beyond Republic City. The Avatar Aang, Tenzin, Jinora, and his father (Yang) have each paved the way for many to thrive, leaving this guy some of the biggest shoes to fill. His mother (Mei) wasn't exactly a plain civilian either. Mei was a high ranking officer in the United Forces, while Yang typically stood guard to help protect the local spirit portal as his parents had done. Despite his parents' busy schedules, Xian was actually well cared for as a child. Somehow both figures managed to be present- enough in his life, giving him more love and support than he ever needed.

The trio didn't last long though after Mei's squadron was reported missing . . then dead. What followed next was a downward spiral for the duo that had lost their rock. Within two months, Yang married Su. Yes, Su Lau heiress to the Cabbage Corp brand. Cabbage. Corp. Brand. The quick change in family dynamic ultimately threw Xian off. He was disgusted by how quickly his father had seemed to move on from his favorite parent. More to that, Su engaged in a rather abusive relationship with Xian at the time. It was one that she so easily hid whenever Yang walked right through the door. Stress hounded Xian daily, prompting him to venture out and look for freedom somewhere in the city. The boy at the time was much more prone to rumbles, causing him to run into trouble here and there in an effort to cope with his still grieving mind.

Xian tried to tell his father, yet all he heard was trouble. Yang wouldn't listen. He thought his son was going through a rebellious stage then sent him away to Air Temple Island where his Auntie Yin stood as the Air Nation's leader. Yin expected trouble as her brother had mentioned, yet she got something far from it . . kind of. Her nephew entered Air Temple Island ready to hone his skills and escape the reality he previously lived in, causing minimal trouble in his own playfully mischievous ways. Yet Xian was determined. His attacks were thick with vengeance though he seemed to master the ability to stealthily escape when he needed to. His air blasts resounded daily at the highest of altitudes until Yin literally flung him into the ocean.

To most, Xian managed to climb the airbending ladder quickly. Some thought he did it to live up to the family name, or redeem himself. But that day when Yin flung him into the ocean, she saw more. Xian was determined to learn spiritual projection to connect with his mother. A technique he briefly remembered Jinora mentioning before she passed on. A goal Yin used to leverage the boy's skill. The spirit made the airbender stronger. Vengeance was never the Air Nomad way to go. Safe to say, the guy basically grew up on Air Temple Island while taking trips to other parts of the world. His vengeance luckily subsided, and his spiritual connection grew.

Then his father decided to summon Xian. Su was now Cabbage Corp's Chief Executive Officer after the recent passing of her father. As a result, both Yang and Su saw it as time to let Xian take control of some company initiatives. It was an opportunity Xian hesitantly accepted.

  Maizen rides the Tosuda Type RX, a state of the art and handmade luxury motorcycle not available for purchase on the normal market. This all white, racing capable motorcycle is fast and sleek, though is only capable of fitting up to two comfortably. It's casted in painted steel to facilitate aerodynamics and protect the interior and is capable of very limited storage underneath the seat. It's a very high maintenance vehicle, but it more than makes up for it in use.

  Maizen comes from an affluent family who own Tosuda International, a Fire Nation motorcycle company known for their top of the line luxury motorcycles. Save for his mother, Maizen looked almost nothing like the rest of his family, much to the chagrin of his father. Until his talent of fire banding and shortly after combustion bending was discovered, his upbringing was left to his mother and the handmaids. While their relationship then on was tense, his father taught him to be well versed in the act of business and hired scholars to educate him intellectually. His mother gave him more than all the parental love he could ever need, and he could have anything he could ever want. This aspect of his life was perfect, something that Maizen wishes was the only aspect of his upbringing.
  
  Due to his immensely powerful and extremely rare bending ability, Maizen had another side to his life. Detachment from his emotions.
  
  When his combustion bending first appeared, he blew up the far wall of their main courtyard. He was sparring his firebending tutor and received a serious blow unintentional by his trainer, which set him off in a fit of rage as Maizen rolled away onto the ground. He looked at his tutor and wished he was strong enough to blow him away with just a look, and watched as superheated air blitzed towards him. The tutor managed to dodge, but the authorities were none too pleased about a massive explosion, even on private property. It was then that the government learned of his ability. At first they wanted to tattoo his forehead like the ones who came before him as a warning, but Maizen's father offered an alternative. Maizen was put under strict psychological and mental training, all with a metal plate over his forehead to scare himself into not using his ability outside of training. Years passed, and the training was complete. Maizen was desensitized to large amounts of emotion, trained to remain calm and focused at all times. It had some other effects on his health, but it had met its goal. He had great control over his mind and body and was allowed to be without a plate; though he was forced to have chi blockers attend to him at all times in case of an accident.
  
  Now with a newfound mindset and abilities, Maizen was able to continue his life almost the same as before, studying further to succeed his father one day. He still conducts a much less strict training course to hone his combustion bending, and has developed quite a few habits from his official training, but he was back to relative normality.
  
  Tosuda International wants to expand business, and has sent Maizen on his first venture without his 'bodyguards' to travel to Republic City and then to take note of the scene there. This is his chance to prove he doesn't need his chi blockers, and he has all the time he needs to prove it. And so after packing some bags and taking his bike, Maizen bought passage on a ship heading to the grand city…..

  Maizen, despite his heritage, looks nothing like a Fire Nation citizen. Unlike his family save for his mother, he has snow white hair and pale silver eyes with relatively long lashes and trimmed eyebrows. His skin is a little on the paler side, and he is relatively tall at 6'2". His body is fit and defined, though his body remains lean and flexible.

  Maizen does a good job of remaining in control of himself even when doing "fun" things, but he can be envious of people with no restraint whatsoever.
